I went to Frank Pepe for the first time and I had a good experience. When we ordered our pizza, we waited for about 15 minutes. The pizza was fresh, well cooked, and delicious. The portion with the price was reasonable. I recommend Frank Pepe and I will definitely go there again.

Google
Amazing pizza. Our service was horrible. Still worth it to go, but hope you get better service than my party of 5 did.

I just picked up my pizza order from this place—it was my first time ordering from this restaurant. Unfortunately, I didn’t open the boxes while I was still there, which was my mistake. When I got home, I was shocked to see how badly burnt the pizza was. I've never seen anything like it, and yet they still sold it to me. Before posting this review, I called the restaurant to report the issue. However, the person who answered was rude and didn’t seem to care about my concern. She kept asking what my name is. Burnt pizzas should never be sold to customers.

Google
First time at Frank Pepe Pizzeria! So glad we finally tried it. Pizza was delicious! We got half Caprese and half veggie. Also got a Caesar salad. dessert we got the trio which is tiramisu, cheesecake and pie. All yummy! The service was friendly and excellent. We will definitely be back. Highly recommended.

Google
Pizza is great, the owner/chef? Brought our pizza to the table and apologized for making the bottom a little too well done. Honestly we would have eaten it no problem, but he insisted on remaking it. We told him no need we would eat it but he insisted, and so we agreed for him to make us one to take home. He really wanted to make sure we got a great pizza. A real class act and you don't get people who care like that anymore. Extremely pleased

Google
100 Years ! Yes they are serving up their delicious pizzas for a century now - that is incredible. Their pie is “big” 16” for a medium… the crust is chewy and crunchy at the same time, it also comes with a char Which does add to the flavors. Not sure if this is the only location or if they have an original branch…. This is conveniently located in the mall … I would give it a try if I am in Burlington.

Google
Had the best waitress Alyssa!!! She was so attentive, personable, lovely, and sweet! We came here from an hour away because this pizza is THE BEST so we knew we would have a good meal, but Alyssa’s service made it a really wonderful dinner! She helped us pick the cannoli pie for dessert and it was incredible I can’t wait to back again. We love Frank Pepe’s and we love Alyssa!!!

Google
Best place to enjoy an all around positive experience in dining in or out for pizza. Staff is well trained and customer service oriented. I always feel good after eating and spending my money there.

Yelp
On this massive road trip, we couldn't get to the original 100-year-old location of Frank Pepe's in New Haven so this will do for us! Gary Pepe opened this location a few years back and it has a custom, massive, extremely hot coal fired oven, just like the original! We had to order the original clam pie! It's spectacular! Even with my dietary restrictions, I had to risk a bite. We also ordered a custom pie with no cheese, sausage, bacon, olives, anchovies and mushrooms. Hey, I'm not eating cheese these days but this combo was still spectacular. Crunchy! Hot! Crispy! Flavorful! Maria took my order and made sure the details and restrictions were right. Isham saw me taking pictures and came over to chat. He explained that Gary opened this location but unfortunately passed away three years ago. The customers and staff were all enthusiastic and gracious! The walls are covered with original pictures of Frank's hometown in Italy, his family, the original staff, past US presidents stopping by for a pie, and more! Check them out when you visit! I took the time to enjoy all of the photos. Our pizza survived the short trip back to the hotel very well. After all, Frank Pepe introduced the pizza box long ago! This year, 2025, is the 100th anniversary of the opening of Frank Pepe's. When you do it right the first time, nothing has to change! Life is good when a mission to try this pizza is finally complete!

Yelp
Sangria carafe was all ice cubes. Dough chewy. Impossible to cut a piece out as toppings sliding around. Pizza $28 way overpriced. Staff language barrier as mostly Spanish servers. Oven scene open to the dining room so you see activity, oven opens where long handled spatula to take pizza out. White hot coals behind a hatch cooks it. Desserts delish. Trio $22, brought home. Cheesecake, tiramisso, slice of toasted custard thingy.5*. Noisy, hard seating, pizza balanced on a chrome stand. Take-out reco if you like this type of crust.

Yelp
In town for a rowing competition for my son...just wanted something fairly quick and easy at the hotel. Easy to order, and the food was great. Good pizza...yummy!
google avatar

Yelp
The dough, sauce and cheese were all good and the pizza was cooked perfectly, crispy but not burnt to a crisp.

Yelp
I have been to a few Frank Pepe's, and except for the fact this is in a mall, it's identical in decor and food to the others. We were seated promptly, and our server was quick to take our order. We got the original cheese pie, and it was thin and crunchy with a perfect amount of oven char on the edges. The medium is more than enough for two people, and we would have had a few slices leftover if we weren't so hungry. The cost is reasonable and the wait for the pizza wasn't too long. Only issue was having a bit of trouble finding parking, but that's dependent on how busy the rest of the mall is. This was a solid pizza option and consistent with the original Frank Pepe's.

Yelp
Haven't been in a while so when my daughter invited me I was happy to go. They have all kinds of pizza, salads, drinks. We got a cheese and buffalo chicken with onions, half and half. It was very good. Salad always good too. Not too pricy, restaurant is clean. Waitstaff always friendly, so I would recommend you come to this Burlington Mall location as it's good!
google avatar

Dan M.

Yelp
Frank Pepe's is awesome! The pizza is delicious! New Haven style pizzeria that rocks! The pizza is chewy yet crunchy. It has a great char to it but not overwhelming. Definitely recommend checking out Frank Pepe's! If want a delicious classic pizza pie; this is the spot!

Yelp
I was a little torn here but I gave the benefit of the doubt. I think I would give it a 3.5 if it was an option. The staff was nice the interior was standard and the pizza was good. Too much flop for me. Not up to a typical new haven style standard, but good for pizza. I would have done without the double pepperoni but that was my own fault for not realizing when I ordered the Dippio pepperoni it had twice the normal pepperoni.

Yelp
Okay, let me first say I'm a HUGE Frank Pepe fan. Not just the original in New Haven -- but check out my review for the Chestnut Hill location. However, I was devastated today with the pizza I received from the Burlington location. I'm a huge clam pizza guy -- especially Frank Pepe. A few weeks ago I had what I would consider the best clam pizza I've ever had outside of New Haven: takeout from Chestnut Hill. It was thin, a little burnt -- with a perfect mix of clams and garlic. Just like the original. So GOOD! So, coming back from work today, I decided to order another $40 large clam from the Burlington location. But sadly I have to say it was so disappointing; it was thick and bready, undercooked, and the overall balance was off. Even the dough seemed like it wasn't salty enough. Maybe it was an off day. But I was so bummed out.

Yelp
I don't understand the low reviews. FP is my favorite pizza and I have been to this location at least 50 times and the pie is consistently great. And Im glad they got new napkins and ditched those thin TP squares They were next to useless
google avatar

Garrett D.

Yelp
Though there is no replacement for the OG location in New Haven CT, the Burlington Mall Frank Pepe puts out a solid pie. Recently ordered the white clam pie and the Amanti Della carne. Both had great flavor and that quintessential char on the crust. The pizzas were ready promptly at the advertised wait time. Both pizzas were loaded with toppings and tasted very fresh. They can get a little pricey but in this day and age that is to be expected. Overall a solid product if you are in the area and looking for a New Haven style pizza.
google avatar

Heather L.

Yelp
I wanted to be a hater coming from a place that has delicious pizza but I gotta say this place lived up to the hype. I got the clam pie and the cannoli cake to go. Staff was friendly and attentive and pizza was delicious. Loved the clam pie but would def like to try other kinds.

Mary G.

Yelp
Why do they continue to make a thick crust pizza??? Have they never been to Frank Pepe's in New Haven? Ordered it today, and it is so thick! It's thick and it's tough! Who are they allowing to make these? Very disappointed.

C C.

Yelp
I have eaten here several times and think the pizza is phenomenal! The restaurant is clean, I tend to go before peak times so seating is not an issue, and the waitstaff is knowledgeable and friendly. The pizza is very flavorful, especially the fresh tomato pie only available during the summer season. I am slowly making my way around the menu's specialty pizza options. Over-ordering for a larger family works since the pizza heats up well in the oven the next day. One star was removed because it is a bit pricey. I have ordered in-restaurant and take-out, and would suggest eating at the restaurant because right out of the oven makes a difference.

Yelp
Ordered a pizza to go. Waited for the pizza and to my surprise when I got home (2 minutes away), the pizza was cold PLUS the slices were burnt and not matching a whole pizza. Slices were put together as if they were leftover (hopefully not from an order) so it's not a made fresh whole pizza. Been going there but never again! Be aware of what you get!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Went to Frank Pepe's today, couldn't be happier with the food and service! The fellow who cooked the pizza wasn't happy with the way it came out so he comped us an additional small sausage pizza!( which seems like a medium size pizza at most restaurants) delicious!
google avatar

Rory S.

Yelp
Till this day the best pizza I've ever had was at frank Pepe's New Haven location when it was the one and only. I've had decent pies from the Fairfield & Yonkers locations but boy... this location was a major let down. Clam pie is my fave and it was just plain bad here... Mr. Pepe would be rolling in his grave. Dough was charred but completely underdone top and bottom. Nothing enjoyable about a gummy, floppy pie. Just bummed from the whole experience.

Yelp
Best pizza ever in the world. I drive over an hour from New Hampshire to the closest one in MA just to get a pizza and always take one or two home with me. Please open a restaurant in my home town of Henniker or Concord NH

Yelp
First timers. Pizza was delicious and huge servings! We ordered a large cheese and small 1/2 pepperoni as well as the salad. The bottles sodas were so good. Server was friendly. No frills restaurant but was clean and we were seated quickly. Dinner for $60 for our family of 4 and a ton of leftovers is a good deal to me!

Yelp
Only have gotten cheese pizzas here but they are awesome! Crispy and HOT!! Our server Alyssa is always great.

Nichole P.

Yelp
The best pizza. So delicious and cooked to perfection. Amazing staff. So friendly and kind. Welcoming atmosphere. 1000/10 recommend.

Yelp
Reasonably good service, rather loud atmosphere, food preparation was pretty good. Parking is easy in front of the store in the Burlington Mall area.

Yelp
At five o'clock sharp, we arrived with great cheer, For our name was on waitlist, our dinner was near. But the host was quite grumpy, rude as could be, "No reservation, just waitlist," said he with glee. The restaurant was empty, seats all around, But we stood at the entrance, feeling quite down. "Can we sit?" we did ask, with patience so thin, More than half of the tables were not filled in. We ordered a pizza, just one, nothing more, But the minutes did tick, and we started to snore. Forty-five minutes, we waited in vain, For a pizza so bland, it brought only pain. In New York, the pizzas are tasty and grand, But here in Burlington, it's like eating sand. Under salted and dull, we couldn't abide, This place we won't visit, nor would we confide. So take our advice, and steer clear away, From this pizzeria, on any fine day. The service is poor, the pizza's a bore, We won't be returning, not ever, no more.

A K.

Yelp
Terrible Tomato Pie but lovely server. This review is not a reflection on the service- that was good. The pizza came out fast too. The server, Hector, kept checking in to ask if we needed anything. The hostess was quick to seat us and things seem well organized. The 0/5 stars for a horrible pizza pie. The fresh tomatoes were very ordinary and very standard - these tasted like average tomatoes that I cook with year round. The basil leaves were scanty and could not be tasted much. The tomato just did not have that lovely flavor and there was no fresh mozzarella cheese on this pie. Please do not respond by saying "In Italy..." I go to Italy often and you cannot compare this awful pie to the fresh tomato pies there. Sorry to say this was one of the worst pizza's that I have had in a big Pizza chain.
google avatar

Rosa P.

Yelp
Nice restaurant but when I ordered a small clam pizza half of the pie was burnt. I was so disappointed I should have asked them to make a new one but I didn't want to be a bother which I regret now. The salad was bland and there's only 2 options on the menu. I definetly will not be coming back here! One good way to make sure the customer doesn't come back is to burn the pizza and still present it to them. Very unprofessional!!!

Yelp
Pretty good food, decent (though not great) service. Solid B+ rating. . See below for detailed review: ---------------------- Ambience: B Cleanliness: A Customer Service: B- Food: B- Price: B Ambience/Cleanliness It was very clean and spacious. Nothing spectacular but comfortable enough. It's also conveniently located in the Burlington mall and much nicer than eating at the food court. Customer Service It was okay. It wasn't the most attentive service we'd ever received but we got our food relatively quickly and didn't wait TOO long for our drinks to be refilled. Food The pizza was good. As I often mention when reviewing pizza places - I'm from NY and am pretty biased towards NY pizza, which obviously this is not. But it is really good, it's certainly not the best pizza I have ever had but I would not hesitate popping in and having a pie with some friends when I'm in the area. Price I think the price was about average for a sit down pizza place, maybe slightly more expensive, though not going to break the bank...well, not more than everything else these days. Overall It's a solid place. I'll be back next time I'm shopping in the area.

Yelp
Delicious pizza. Friendly service. Looking for a taste of new haven. You won't be disappointed

Yelp
Really good pizza! Not quite at Santarpios and Regina's level but conveniently located and the best pizza you can get in the burbs. Amazing how they have maintained quality despite multiple locations

Yelp
Just had lunch ....Great pizza and even better service with our server Alyessa!! Check out the original pie and the clam pizza.

Yelp
First I have to admit that I'm from New York City, so by definition I'm a pizza snob. Get over it. That said, this was pretty darn good pizza! Not New York/New Jersey pizza, but very good! And I will admit that it'd be mighty rare to find this many fresh and delicious vegetables on a NY pie. So there, I call 'em like I see 'em and can admit that not everything is perfect in my town! I was here with my son-in-law and eldest grandkid. We each ordered a small salad, which was very generous with the greens and pieces of cuke and cherry tomatoes and a nice balsamic vinaigrette on the side. My SIL has the biggest sweet tooth and he ordered 2 pieces of tiramisu for us to share (1 would've sufficed). It was creamy yet light, and yummy, and I'm glad I had a teenager to share it with me! So, as pizza goes outside of the NY/NJ metro area - Frank Pepe's was darn good!

James P.

Yelp
Excellent pizza Could of used a little more sauce Great crunch delicious Sauce was fantastic

John S.

Yelp
Now this is New Haven style Neapolitan pizza. It should have char but not burnt like the other place in Woburn. I've had Modern Apizza in New Haven and this is just as good. We had a medium pepperoni and mushroom for the two of us. A medium is 12 small slices. We took home half and are enjoying it for lunches. Some great photos of Frank and Filomena and the shop way back when.
google avatar

Dil S.

Yelp
$50+ for 2 small pizzas and a glass of wine with tip and tax. Service was surprisingly slow given there were only a few tables. Folks that sat down after us got their pizzas first. Got faked out by their waitress initially giving their pizza to us. The shrimp pizza was solid, but prefer the shrimp scampi pizza from Bocellis in Medford. The mushroom, peppers, onion pizza was average. For the cost and New Haven legacy we had higher expectations. Good to see they put a shell warning on the white clam pizza - almost lost a tooth when I got this in their Mohegan Sun location.
google avatar

Deb E.

Yelp
Went with the family and had a great dinner! Caesar salad, margherita pizza and doppio pepperoni. Immediate seating, quick friendly service. Frank Pepe's never disappoints!

Sj M.

Yelp
Great take out pizza. Always happy. But pickup and parking can be awful. They have 10 or so reserved for pickup spaces, but they're always full. If you sit and watch they're all used by mall shoppers, and not Pepe customers. I don't know how to fix this, but I'd order more often if they did!
google avatar

Bun C.

Yelp
The pizza toppings were very tasty, but I find the crust to be too thin and crunchy. It was like biting into a huge pita chip at the edges. But I like how you can get half and half on even their small pizzas.
google avatar

Soumita B.

Yelp
Haa! Never had this experience before in any restaurant. Me and my husband walked in and waited at the board stating please wait to be seated. Other guests who came in after us were greeted first and the orders were taken for takeaway. We kept waiting and other waiters even passed by but we were completely ignored. We kept waiting until we decided to walk off from there! What would I call this experience to be ?!

Yelp
So Frank Pepe in New Haven used to be hands down, THE BEST pizza in the United States. I'd often go out of my way and fight for the precious few street parking spots to grab a pizza and look at the photos of various luminaries on the wall. I will say that the US has since caught up with Frank Pepe's famous Napolitano-style pizza and though it's the (an) original, it's no longer worth an hour wait and the reckless inner-city parking situation at their first location. However, a few years ago Frank Pepe began to expand its reach. From restaurants in other strangely dangerous CT towns (Bridgeport) to locations like casinos (Mohegan) and Burlington (Mall). I will say, if it's your first Frank Pepe's experience the original is still the spot to go. The worst one to visit is the casino location where things are just not at all what one would expect from such a legendary spot. I am a pizza snob and usually stick with a Pizza Margharita ... cheese, sauce and basil, when getting coal fired or Napolitano style pizza. However, I was in Burlington on Memorial Day and was craving pizza, so I decided to try their famous white clam pie for a change. You'll notice I am giving 4 stars, even though this was one of the most vile things I have ever eaten? The quality was not that of New Haven Pepe's ... but I'd say better than a lot of coal fired spots. I won't downgrade Pepe's for my personal taste as their white clam is fairly legendary. To me, it tested like if you took a ladle of water from the bottom of a deep sea fishing party boat and dumped it onto a cracker and added burned garlic, a legit handful of salt and giant chewy clam pieces with little shells that crack when you bite them. It was a fishy tasting mess with the scorched garlic giving it a salty burned taste. Lets put it this way ... I stopped at a gas station on my way home to buy the strongest peppermint gum I could find to mask the taste of the 3 pizza slices I ate and threw away the rest of the pizza. Thank goodness I got the small ($16 ... $22 after taxes, fees and tip.) which is more expensive than most large pies. Lesson learned ... stick with what you know. A few nit picky items, the pie left a lot of the edge space toppingless and crunchy while all the toppings were in the middle of the pie which was soggy. I guess when cooking clams on a pizza, sogginess happens. But, based on the other photos I've seen edgeless toppings 2-3 inches into the crust is kind of standard here. I will say as I was leaving, I did see a family enjoying a huge classic cheese with meat pie that looked great. (Maybe a bit skimpy on the cheese but you can order double, I believe) I had order fomo before even tasting my fishy bait box concoction. The restaurant inside was similar to Pepe's in New Haven ... very tight seating with tables stacked on top of each other. I'm not quite ready to step out of pandemic mode yet, so I'm glad I took out. The take out process was easy from ordering to paying, although there was no option for parking lot delivery. You have to park in a marked section near the mall and run in. My order was ready literally to the minute so I had a fresh pie. Many were waiting in the spots with the engine off, so the pick up spots are hard to come by and tight to maneuver. I guess wherever you go, tough parking is a hallmark of Pepe's. So overall, if you love Frank Pepe's, this spots quality control is 4 out of 5 compared to the original. (As mentioned, topping gap is a thing here) and I'd say that my crust was a bit crispier than I'd like. Pepe's is known for charred bottom in places but the pizza still remains pliable. This was more like a crunchy cracker with a soggy center. Better than your average Berticcis or chain pizza though. Pepe's is on point for high quality sauces and ingredients.

Chris C.

Yelp
Pizza ordered was cold but probably expected as it was delivery. Caesar salad. Maybe i ordered it wrong, no croutons or cheese, just Romain and dressing. Not what i would expect for a Caesar salad. Blah.
google avatar

Dawn L.

Yelp
Only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because I duped into ordering a clam pizza and it was the absolute most disgusting thing I've ever eaten. However, the other 2 pizzas were perfect!!
google avatar

Z V.

Yelp
The original tomato pie was crazy good!! Never had a pizza like that. These guy really know their stuff

Carl N.

Yelp
Pizza was great. But I won't be back because they don't serve unsweetened iced tea! C'mon Frank! Fake syrupy "iced tea" from the fountain won't cut it!
google avatar

Christina A.

Yelp
Had a fun visit to the Frank Pepe Burlington MA location. I used to live in New Haven, so I'm really particular about my apizza. This location didn't disappoint. The oven is a replica of the New Haven original, and the manager Joe was so friendly and passionate about his job. There's a lot of seating inside, and there's a family friendly atmosphere. We tried the Margherita pizza, the mushroom and sausage, the spring special (which had spinach, bacon and roasted tomatoes - so good!), and the vino dulce sangria which was amazing. Would definitely return back to this location soon!

Yelp
Order Process: Easy to understand, clear when you want one pizza with one topping on one side and a different one on the other. You can even order a double amount of a topping. You can pay online and there is a spot for optional tip. Menu: Lots of selections, you can build your own or choose from specialty pizzas. Pick up Process: You drive up, then call when you arrive if an attendant is not already outside. The pizza was ready exactly when the online confirmation said it would be, and the delivery person happily put it in the back seat and was super friendly and courteous and respectful of space. Quality: Excellent. We got a medium, 1/2 meatball and 1/2 olive. The meatball slices are just the right width and the olives are tiny, full size olives, not just a few scattered slices. We felt there was a generous portion for both and we did not choose to add extra. There were 2 of us and we still had 4 slices left over. Definitely recommend Frank Pepe's in Burlington.

Yelp
Delicious. Quick easy take out on Saturday night. I called around 7:30pm and it was only 20 minutes for my medium pie.

Marianne B.

Yelp
One of the best pizzas I have ever had , their tomatoe pie, off the chain! Also their meatball pie wowza never had it before . This place does not disappoint and the owner and staff are great ! Been here twice and will return when I come back to the east coast . Love this place !

Yelp
Pizza is amazing! I grew up eating at the original in New Haven and I personally think Burlington is better than the original. In my opinion! I also would like to add the great service we have every time we go in

Yelp
Went to Frank Pepe Saturday night with my wife and our good friends. We were greeted at the front desk by a very sweet and kind young lady who told us it was going to be about 15 to 20 minute wait. We were seated in about 15 minutes, and ordered pizzas and salads we got a large cheese pizza that was out of this world. Our friends got a meat pizza which they seem to love. We met the general manager, Joe, who was working the floor and basically doing everything. We got a chance to talk to him. He is a true gentleman and an incredible of this fine establishment! Joe treated us like family as soon as we met him. I have been to the Pepe in Connecticut. I have to say I could not tell the difference in the pizza that's how good it was.!!!!

Yelp
Awesome pizza. The crust is indescribably devious. Mushroom and sausage perfect. Sauce was perfectly seasoned to complement the toppings. Pizza was done early. Wife had margarita pizza she said "Best Ever!" Good value too. Next to Bronx pizza (in the Bronx) this is the best ever. If anyone disagrees, I'd like to know what they think is the best and I'll do a one to one comparison. Staff very friendly!
