I can't even eat cheese, and I love this store! Whether you are a earthly cheese lover, or an alien cheese lover from the Backyard Starship series, this is a must visit location if you are within a hundred miles. A huge variety of cheese along with the standard Frankenmuth memorabilia means everyone can find something they love here.

Google
Always much to see at Frankenmuth Cheese Haus. Parking availability a plus. I found a cute bee decorated coffee mug for my mom. A variety of cheeses to behold and contemplate. No taste-testing, though, which surprised me. Quite enjoyed the figurines found on the exterior - one reason I visited.

Google
The store is quite large and has so many things other than cheese. They have Walnut Creek items. They also have Cheese Hause preadmade dips, jams, pickled items, and sauces. They have a large refrigerated section of sodas and drinks. The cheese are in 2 refrigerated displays. I wish they had samples to try before you purchase. They also have candies and chocolates. They also had beef jerky and summer sausage. The outside has a seating area and a food truck that features Cheese Hause items.

Google
Awesome cheese place with a huge selection from all around, very kid friendly. During the week we came, they had a huge festival with bounce houses, games, a cheese eating contest and food trucks. Frankenmuth was an incredible visit and the Cheese Haus was a big part of that fun!

Google
We come to The Cheese Haus in Frankenmuth every year on our annual vacation. They have every cheese and cheese spread imaginable. They used to offer samples of every cheese product they sell but not anymore. They had 3 cheese samples and that's it. They sell other products beside cheese. They have sausages, jerky, chips, pretzels, fudge, pop, chocolates, souvenirs, etc It's all way overpriced too. We used to go for the samples but not anymore. It also has several wooden doors outside where mechanical figures come out and tell you about cheeses from the country they represent. There are 5 figures altogether. It's something cute for the kids to watch and learn.

Google
So many different cheeses to choose from - cheddar, fruit cheese spreads - the lemon meringue pie cheese spread is to die for!! They even have chocolate cheese! Can't wait to go back

Google
I really like the scorpion cheddar. First time in my life I've actually had a cheese that was really hot. If you feel like me then this might be the one for you. The other two I didn't get any heat off of but I'm a little odd.

Google
Parking available for a quick transaction :) ran in and had no idea what i was doing the lady who helped me was super knowledgeable and kind. She took pride in her job and it showed. Loved hearing about her suggestions and why. In the end i picked out three delicious cheese’s she recommended. One downfall is that the prices are astronomical. $20 for a four by four block of cheese. I would have loved a small sampler with unusual cheeses on it. I think could be a huge seller for them.

Yelp
Cheese curds. Cheese dip. Cheese by the pound. CHEESE HEAVEN. A must stop shop to fill your fridge or when you are gift shopping. And if you forgot your own cooler, they do sell ice packs they slip into your plastic bag for $1. Will it keep it cold forever? No, but it something! They also have little knick knacks here and there for kids, snacks, chips, sauces and wines. You will find something that will catch your eye if you visit! Just remember, bring a cooler in the car!

Yelp
I honestly don't get how this place calls itself a "cheese haus." If you're coming to Frankenmuth for cheese, do yourself a favor and skip this spot. The selection is shockingly limited--I'm talking one case of cheese! You'd find a better variety of artisan cheeses at your local Jewel or Mariano's, no joke. To be blunt, there was a bunch of people behind the counter, cutting the cheese (LOL) literally just standing there cutting up blocks of cheese. And it looked like there was a bunch of cheese in the backroom storage area, but literally one medium size case of blocks of cheese out for customers to buy, and they were all expensive!!! $8-$30 for like 1/2 lb. Let's HOPE they were just having an off day, low in stock out on the floor or something, but even still, i would have been underwhelmed. Honestly, only about 5% of their merchandise is actually cheese... The rest of the store is filled with random knickknacks, candy, touristy junk, some kitschy paraphernalia, and cooking tools--basically everything except cheese. I get that stores like this try to offer variety, but half of the items had zero connection to cheese at all. There was also a small section for meat and cheese-related accessories, but even that was underwhelming. You can get most of the stuff on Amazon for like half the price. The staff were friendly enough, but the place just didn't live up to the "cheese haus" hype. If you're hoping for a great cheese selection or even a memorable cheese-shopping experience, you'll be disappointed.

Yelp
In Frankenmuth, what the Cherry Republic did for Michigan sour cherries, the Cheese House does for cheese ... it provides an over-abundance of choices in cheese, wines, and all the accessories and extras related to those. Hint: come here before you have a big lunch because there are tastings of many of the cheeses. That said, if you like cheese, you'll like the Cheese House. Nicely staffed with friendly people, there were a number of stations where one could sample different cheeses ... spread on crackers or dipped-in with a pretzel. After that, you follow the floor layout around to the open-air self-serve coolers where you could grab a brick or slices of those cheeses that you were interested in. In addition ... for the real cheese aficionado ... they have a huge cooler where they store most of the wheels of cheese and other large portions. For example, you could get 5 year old cheddar, or 7 year old, or 10 year old, and even 17 year old cheddar. I never knew they had so many selections of a single, simple cheese. Great stuff. Besides cheese they had cheese curds (sort of a similar theme) and a number of candy offerings. Staying with the cheese theme, they also offered many of the charcuterie toppings one might like to have with the cheese. This place takes cheese and crackers to a new level. There are a number of gift items for the buying, many interesting and unusual. They even had a big selection of soft drinks from around the country along one wall, many of which you rarely see in your local outlets ... same for the beer. Fun place, and recommended.

Yelp
The atmosphere here is very hodgepodge. I was expecting a more orderly selections of cheese. However, Cheese is actually only a small part of the business. There's 3 small bin areas of variety of cheese. I've been to cheese shops near Middlebury and Shipshewana in Indiana and they had rows of Cheese in a large quantity. I was expecting that. There seemed to be more of an emphasis on variety cooking products. The staff was very nice and helpful. The cheese was excellent. Overall a 4 star review. Even with the hodgepodgeness, it was a fun place. Would I return? Yes. Lastly Shout-out to J.N. Chaney's Backyard Spaceship Series, which mention Frankenmuth and Cheese Haus. Icky and Funboy are huge fans.

Yelp
Wow! There is a lot of cool and unique cheese options in this store. They even offer some unique samples as well. I thought it was pretty cool that theybhad chocolate cheese and blueberry cheese. They also had some other items such as jams, drinks, candies, and more. It is definitely worth it to stop in and look around. The service was great and we were greated when we walked in. The inside was pretty spacious and easy to get through with a double stroller.
google avatar

Yelp
It's a super cool throwback type of shop with a LOT of cheese options, but also throwback candy and wine.
google avatar

Yelp
They have butterkaise cheese! Oh how much we have scoured the shelves in Florida trying to find it. My wife loves making the Wisconsin Three fondue; which requires fontina, blue, and of course, butterkaise. And the cheese we are never able to find is butterkaise. Publix used to sell it in the deli, but it has been about 8 years since then. We also found cheese curds, which are my wife's favorite! Sadly, we they don't offer anything to sample, but everything looked amazing. Whenever we are back, hopefully with our daughter, we will definitely have to return.

Yelp
No explanation needed, love this place. Downtown. Great staff. This location is usually crowded around the holidays but it's worth it. Quality of everything is top-tier. The cheese is great too
google avatar

Claire C.

Yelp
Never bought cheese here, but I love the jams and other foods. This time I bought a Swedish dish towel for a gift. They have really funny shorts and pants that would make a great gift for someone silly. Definitely a required spot to visit if you're in Frankenmuth

Yelp
Calling all cheese lovers! While in Michigan my sister and her hubs wanted to go to the Christmas Mall... along the way we seen signs for cheese everywhere. My keto taste buds perked up and I insisted we find the cheese. We parked behind the building and walked up to the Cheese Haus... *instant charm* They have a great set up outside for tourists and locals alike to enjoy the ambiance and snack on some wine and cheese. From house made cheeses, sold by the pound and cheese wheel... to 18+ year aged cheddars sold my the block. They had it all. Every flavor combination you can imagine... goat cheeses... chocolate cheese. You name it. Picked out some wine to go with my cheese samplings and I was a happy camper. If you're driving through Frankenmuth the Cheese Haus is a must stop. It's worth it, trust me!

Yelp
They have chocolate cheese here! Like, literal cheese that is brown and has chocolate in it. I feel like Ween would like this place. In any case, I like this place, and so did my cheese-loving son. We had a good time walking around the store and looking at all of the different cheeses. There are just so many different varieties that it was a little overwhelming. In the dairy case, cut into different-sized wedges, they have lots of different cheeses that have different flavor combinations, like Colby bacon cheese, pepperoni cheese, Monterey dill, onion & chive cheddar, horseradish havarti ... the list goes on. Cheese Haus also has a good selection of wine (including local wine), specialty popcorn, dozens and dozens of different hot sauces, imported candy, a plethora of beverages and lots more. If you're into that sort of thing, you have to take a photo by the giant mouse and cheese statue outside the store. It's a Frankenmuth photo op, for sure.

Yelp
This is a cheese lovers haven. I was hoping to try the cheese curds before I bought them, but the employee said they weren't sampling anything due to employee shortage. You know that scene in Forest Gump when Bubba names all kinds of shrimp dishes? That's how many kinds of cheese curds they had. Max spotted a Butterkaise and I wished we could bring it home because I make a killer Wisconsin Three Fondue with that cheese. The store is clean and screams cheese. However, they have other finds like honey, jams, and gifts.
google avatar

Stephanie K.

Yelp
So many types of cheese!!! They had some jerky and breads or pretzels but the main attraction was cheese, obviously. Although I was surprised at how many gifts they had stocked and kitchen tools that I didn't expect. Everything was well stocked and organized Staff was polite
google avatar

Yelp
This is basically a cheese and candy store. It's very touristy and high priced. Nothing exceptional here.
google avatar

Amethyst W.

Yelp
The store was pretty interesting, it was all things cheese all throughout the store. I guess just like its name. the workers seem very friendly. The store was very bright and very clean. I think that there are many options to try the cheeses, but at that point, we had already had a huge lunch and didn't really want to taste anything. They also had lots of different drinks, tchotchkes, candies, and other random things.
google avatar

Yelp
We LOVE this place! They have many samples to try before you buy, and they offer an extensive selection of cheeses too. We visit every time we are in Frankenmuth. Their chocolate cheese is our favorite. The service has been friendly, and the atmosphere is always exciting!

Yelp
This is a unique business that is part of Frankenmuth. A customer will "Smile and Say Cheese Please after walking inside to shop!" As A Pre-Birthday visit to Frankenmuth the Cheese Haus was on my list to shop for my favorites and also to find new cheese blocks referred by a Yelp friend in Las Vegas. No samples were available to taste test on my Thursday 9/16/2021 visit. The photos I posted clearly shows that the bin areas were well stocked and organized with signs showing the many soft blocks, refrigerated blocks as well as Cheese Flavored Spreads. This store carries a variety of International & Gourmet Cheese as well as those thin delicious Breton Crackers to enjoy with your favorite cheese choice. In the refrigerated areas are summer sausage, jerky sticks, as well as the popular "Chocolate Flavored Cheese!" I opted not to buy, and regret my decision based on Gloria's opinion from Yelp. So as Arnold would say "I'll be Back!" In October to buy and try a block of Chocolate Cheese then post my photos of tasting and opinion too. :-) The merchandise here is well stocked so make sure you take the time to slowly walk throughout the store from front to back before checking out at the registers. I saw perfect mini wine bottles at $4.99 to buy for home tasting, a picnic basket or to enjoy at a concert in the area as well. There are table areas with jars of preserves, Jelly and Fall Pecans too! The upbeat music playing in this store also sets the mood for customers that are cheese and sausage shopping. Store Hours: Monday -Thursday 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM Friday & Saturday 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM Sunday 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM Amenities Are: Staff Wears Masks & Customers are Recommended To Wear Too Accepts Credit Cards Private Parking Lot in Back of Store Wheelchair Accessible Bike Racks Available Take-Out Available but NO Delivery Service of Merchandise.

Yelp
This store has all things cheese to include the large mouse and cheese wedge statue out front. It gets very crowded but has a nice large variety of cheeses. I've been to larger stores but this has a good selection. They also have boards, curds, cheese tools, wine stuff, kitchen items, souvenirs and more. It's worth walking around.

Yelp
Cheese Haus is on the main strip in downtown Frankenmuth. While they have a very large selection, many of the cheese selections are pretty basic and just okay. It is a very large cheese store, and they sell alcohol and tourist items; but as far as actual cheese shops go, it's pretty average. We did buy a nice horseradish cheese spread that was quite good. Many of other cheeses we bought on our trip ended up being "just okay". The bottom line is that Cheese Haus is a Frankenmuth classic, but it's more of a tourist attraction than a true cheese monger. While in town, you should definitely stop in, take your picture out front with the famous mouse, and feel free to buy anything that looks good. The staff is friendly and the quality is about average - so it's not a waste of time.
google avatar

Diana F.

Yelp
if you love cheese, this is the place--many different kinds & prices--yesterday we spent over $100 on cheese--lots of different gift ideas here also...

Paula W.

Yelp
Beautiful town especially in the winter months and especially around Christmas. Small quaint town. Everything is within close proximity of everything.
google avatar

Sara S.

Yelp
Love the wine and cheese selections... they have a big new store and the dejection is vastly improved... the prices are pretty high but they have so much to offer.. it's walk to wall gourmet cheese.. they even have a 'cheese cave' of sorts.. the service is decent, but can be better.. I like the new building and the huge mouse mascot statue outside - it's a tourist spot for selfies (we took a couple). We liked the eclectic array of craft wines, cheeses, dips and snacks, along with a pretty nice selection of housewares, gifts for the wine and cheese connoisseur and souvenirs.
google avatar

Yelp
Oh man - tons of cheeses here and I wanted to buy them all. Apparently pre-COVID they did a lot of samples around the store too - none today (5/22/21) due to COVID precautions though. I ended up buying the chocolate cheese, some roasted garlic cheese, and a German hefe weizen (sp?) bottle of beer for my boyfriend. I've tried out both the cheeses at home already; the chocolate cheese is definitely interesting but I'm not sure if I like it, it's more like fudge with a cheese aftertaste. The roasted garlic cheese was fantastic and would be great in a grilled cheese sandwich. The cheeses here range from like $6 to $50 (see my pic!) and they have a ton of varieties. I'll definitely be stopping by again next time I'm in town.
google avatar

Bridgette Z.

Yelp
Overpriced but necessary to stop in and check out. They have so many interesting cheeses and other fun things like candy and beverages. Also a great photo opportunity with the giant mouse and cheese statue outside lol
google avatar

Michele M.

Yelp
We always stop at the Cheese Haus when we visit Frankenmuth. I enjoy trying a few new bricks of cheese to take home and make a charcuterie board. They don't have samples out anymore like they used to, but we still enjoy trying something new each time. There is a big refrigerator room filled with cheese.

Yelp
I have been a customer here for as long as I can remember. Their amazing pub cheese keeps us coming back again and again! A short while back they moved to a newer bigger location which is perfect for today's atmosphere. Up until the last few months, this location still had all of the amazing sampling, but for now, that has stopped. I have no updates on when or whether or not that will restart, but for now the important news is that they are currently opened for business! We were able to enter the shop wearing masks. The employees greeted us with such cheerful joy, it was refreshing to see a positive, happy atmosphere. Since the store has a newer location, there is more room to social distance, and to roam around to look at unique items. They had a full stock of their famous cheeses and other fine foods, like their amazing chocolate cheese. I also like their fun gifts you can purchase. The kids enjoyed getting some candy, like Kinder and other old fashion candies. They have a nice beer selection where you can purchase single cans and bottles. That is my favorite way to shop, because I would rather not commit to entire six-pack or case, I like to try one beverage at a time. They also have a nice variety of pop and other drinks to purchase. To check out, they have well established line, everything was very well organized as it always is during typical times. Lastly, the kids enjoyed watching the little animatronic show outside that educated guests about the different cows used to produce their famous cheese and their history. There was also a food truck outside the store selling scrumptious sounding sandwiches and treats featuring different cheeses. I believe this truck was connected to the store.

Yelp
If you're in the mood for a cheesy good time! This place is epic! They have 250 kinds of cheese with a lot of samples! A bunch wine to go with it. Candy and snack items. Cow and cheese themed clothes too! I would say that this is a must stop in to see when you're in town.. that is unless you can't have cheese!
google avatar

Annette J.

Yelp
Yeah buddy! Cheese Haus expanded into this new location and it's lookin' fly! Check out the tasting counters in the back! The coolers for beverages and fancy meats to go with your cheeses! The candy and gifts in the front! The cute mouse souvenirs and more! Oh a pretty good selection of honey too (which made this beekeeper pretty delighted to see). All clean and shiny and ready for your enjoyment. Oh and the cheese! So many cheeses! From imported aged goudas, to domestic cheddars, cheese curds, and hausmade cheese spreads in flavors like jalapeño, horseradish, bacon and more. Also, a bit of novelty but still tasty are their specialty flavored cheeses like chocolate, chocolate mint, chocolate peanut butter, and fruits like strawberry and blueberry (the latter two would pair particularly well with a good Nila wafer, FYI). On our latest trip we got some cheese curds, hunter sausage, bacon cheese spread, some fancy German honey, and crackers. It was all so good! And they made the best snack for our drive back home after a day in Frankenmuth. Don't miss taking your photo with the Haus Maus and wedge of cheese in front too. Because if you don't take your picture with it can you really say you were there?

James F.

Yelp
I'll give you guys credit as we come here twice a year...but to be honest I'm not sure where your cheese comes from. I asked your staff where the cheese comes from and I was told only the cheese spreads are from the house. I bought some cherry cheese but no one was able to explain the actual cheese. Great products and good food but it's getting more and more hokey every time I go. You have tremendous opportunities to make sales. I just don't know about the cheese I'm buying.

Yelp
What a delightful homage to homogenuzation, one-part gift shop and one-part epicurean cheese specialist, the Cheese Haus was a half-hour diversion as we killed time waiting for our reservation across the street at the venerable Zehnder's Restaurant. My current profile pic was taken here (Bavarian hat) and the suggested route through the rather large store is skirt the perimeter first! Samples: Although plentiful, not their highest end cheese. We enjoyed the crackers and spreadable cheeses though (go jalepeño). Some took flavors to excess (chocolate covered) but the plethora of Michigan, Wisconsin and Vermont artisan cheeses was definitely worth the browse. They also have e all kinds of affordable cheese accessories to bring on your next picnic use for holiday cheese and sausage plates. I strongly recommend the landsjaeger sausages to snack on. Another wonderful score was the purple saur kraut in the sealed bag. We heayedit up in boiling water a month later and found it sweet and fantastic with spicy curries. Should have bought more of both products. Overall, the Cheese Haus isone of my top three favorites in Michigan's Little Bavaria, also consider loading up on sausages, mustards and other local creations (especially fudge).

Diane S.

Yelp
When customers have a tasting and they like the product they will buy. This is seen in a lot of places ... but don't expect it here. Doesn't happen. A deli or even a liquor store provide these as a service so why not here? You'd rather people just guess. They're paying a good price. Makes no sense.
google avatar

Yelp
A must stop when visiting Frankemuth! It is a staple in the community and they recently built a brand new Cheese Haus that is bigger and better than the original structure. The original store is still there but next door is the new place. Taking a picture in front of the big piece of cheese and the mice is also a must. The new store is awesome. It is bigger, cleaner, and has much more than the original store. In the back are two stations for sampling the cheese. Who doesn't love samples?! There is obviously a ton of cheese but also smoke meats, candy, wine, and other goodies. Some non-food items like decorations can also be found. It is a tourist trap but a fun place to walk around. There is seating outside to enjoy your recently purchased cheese and crackers. Tip - bring a cooler to take your cheese back home. The store sells coolers but they upcharge like crazy!

Yelp
There are a lot of options of places to go & spend your time And money while in Frankenmuth. I decided to take my family to spend some of our time & money at the cheese haus. Let me tell you about how unpleasant our experience was.... There were a lot of employees working, none who even acknowledged us- i don't need my hand held while shopping but if you are an employee who is going to stair at me at least say "hi". My husband & i had our baby in a stroller & selected a lot of products. Stuff was really bare (cases & shelves) and there weren't any samples or areas of what seemed fresh- it wasn't even close to closing so i was confused. There were only 1-2 customers besides us in the store during our whole visit. When it was time to check out, a man in a chef's coat who seemed really unhappy to have to come to the register & ring us out "helped" us- i said hello & thank you & he did not reply at all. We presented him with a coupon we had from our hotel to receive a free gift if we spent a certain amt. of money. WELL- When i opened the free gift (which he just chucked it in a bag) i was first excited- yay a spoon holder & mine just broke & I've been in the market for a NEW one...but THEN i opened the box & i am so beyond offended. I will tell you right now that this is beyond disgusting so prepare yourself - it was a USED spoon holder with a chip in it- USED!! It is COVERED is rancid food caked on crusted garbage (front & back) AND cracked! MY FREE GIFT WAS LITERALLY A PIECE OF TRASH that the unhappy "chef" threw into my bag with the triple digits worth of cheese, candy & home supplies we purchased. At first i thought "this is a weird finish for a spoon holder." Well it wasn't a finish it was actual like rancid meat & sauce & food particles crusted to the outside on the top AND the bottom....

Yelp
Here comes a "New Normal Review." Yes,, many business are doing their best during the Covid. I get it,,, a lot of the free samples have gone. But these guys still have the variety of cheeses and such. We also picked up some alco beverages to bring back to the hotel while we wait for our reservation at 8pm. You're probably wondering why the 1 star? Girl behind the counter,,, sweet as can be,, very nice and friendly and approachable, BUT! She was wearing her Mask Wrong. Her nose is straight up hanging out of the top of the mask and just openly breathing out possible lung droplets in our indoor inclosed setting. THIS IS DISGUSTING!!! SOMEONE NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THAT. No excuses for this lack of respect for patrons. I know you're riding the tourist trap wave, but do us all a favor. Hire people that are willing to wear masks properly or risk one of us, specially me, and I will write review about what I saw wrong. Thank you for reading my review. I hope this helps your decision making experience. Enjoy your awesome yelptastic day!

Yelp
This is the place of all things cheese. It is so hard to actually decide. I was extremely limited unfortunately in my cooler space and in my shopping budget as this was a stop on my way home from a vacation. If i travel again to this area even for a day as I live a few hrs away, I will have to remember to bring a much larger cooler. What a wide selection and good prices. I dropped in before lunch and this was one of my last stops before heading home. After tasting the cheese, I now want more.
google avatar

Gemma H.

Yelp
I've been here a few times in the past, but this was our first trip here during covid. They've got a good traffic flow through the store and covid precautions in abundance (plastic barriers, masks required, etc). My obsessions from here are the gourmet cheese spread with garden veggies and the jalapeño cheese spread, both with mini Breton bites crackers. Smooth, great flavor, and obviously good enough for me to continue to come back just for some cheese spreads. If I had the ability to bring a bunch of cheese back with me, I would. So many options. Will definitely be back!
google avatar

Erin C.

Yelp
The cheese is always amazing. Plenty of samples to try! There are coupons out there for a free gift if you spend $10 also. The gift changes. I love their garlic cheese spread. If you want to try something different, try their chocolate cheese! They have mint and peanut butter chocolate cheeses also. They're fun & tasty! You can sample them before you buy, too. The new building setup is nicer. There wasn't a lot of staff though when we came so you'd probably have to ask someone behind a counter or register for help if you had questions. Overall I enjoy their cheese and the new store!
google avatar

Kelly H.

Yelp
Cheese samples?!? Seriously?!? So amazing! My mom and I made sure to visit and take pictures, enjoy the 'outdoor show,' enjoy samples and buy stocking stuffers. I've been to Frankenmuth twice in my 40+ years and this was my first trip here - and I will be back when I return next. It was fun and friendly and we actually found good parking nearby. Just a delight.

Yelp
So there is this place in Frankenmuth that has a giant statue of a mouse in a block of cheese outside... yup, we definitely had to stop. My boyfriend and I were in Frankenmuth for a few hours and decided to check it out. It was pretty early in the day so it wasn't crowded yet; I imagine this place gets pretty busy during the peak season! They do have a lot of cheese, but they have tons of other items too: souvenirs (Cheese Haus mug with your name on it, anyone?), beer and wine, tons of candy, houseware items, gifts, cheese board items, charcuterie, snacks, etc. So much stuff! The best part are the samples! They have a few sample areas throughout the store with cheese cubes, and then an entire sample station in the back of the store with hard and soft cheeses of all types! Since we were there so early (I think they had just opened), only the soft cheeses were out, but it was fun to try them. Most of them tasted like your typical bar cheese, but then they also had some sweet varieties that tasted like super fruity cream cheese. They had mini Nilla wafers out for the sweet samples; I liked the blueberry! They also had pieces of fudge for sampling. If you like cheese this is a must stop in Frankenmuth!

Yelp
Being originally from Wisconsin when I learn of a Cheese Haus, Cheese House, Cheese Castle, Cheese Lady, or Cheese Anything, you know I have to check it out. These places can vary from touristy to straight from the factory in appearance, variety of cheeses, and prices. If you understand that concept going in and know your cheeses, you may find some good stuff. We were going to Frankenmuth to meet friends for lunch so I decided to get there early and stop at the Frankenmuth Cheese Haus. First, there is no street parking available but there is plenty of parking in a lot in back that seems to be a continuously connected lot behind other businesses and restaurants all the way to the Bavarian Inn, can't speak to the other direction, but nice to be able to avoid the street side traffic. The layout of the Cheese Haus is like a horseshoe in that you come in and see counters of Cheese in the center and various other food products and tourist items on the outside. Continuing around you arrive at the checkout area. If you want to go back for something you decided you wanted after all, you have to reverse course around the horseshoe. Not too big of a deal because it is not that huge of a place. The staff are helpful and friendly and can help you find whatever kind of Cheese you are looking for and also offer samples or make suggestions so you can decide if that is the taste you are looking for. Being on the Main Street of a tourist town like Frankenmuth, of course they have a lot of touristy items and the cheeses are not Costco prices or sizes. But they do have a decent variety of mild and aged Cheese to choose from and it is fun to look around to see what they have. I was specifically looking for an aged brick Cheese from Wisconsin but they only had mild; I bought some. Aged cheddar and other types I can wait for my next trip home to Wisconsin to buy at a Cheese factory. I guess it comes down to do you buy Cheese because you like Cheese or for the novelty of buying at a Cheese Haus (or house or castle) or because you found something new that you like. I just know I need to buy something because it's not a Cheese Museum. I enjoyed our visit and even bought Frankenmuth coffee mugs just because; that's part of why we visit places like the Cheese Haus in the first place!

Yelp
We were there right at 10 AM when they open. It was a little slow going, but within 15 minutes that place was packed! It was so nice to see the different types of cheeses and the different ages of cheeses they had. It was a great selection! Of course, I probably spent way too much money than I should have, but this is probably (so far) the best selection of cheeses we've seen in Frankenmuth. If you're looking for some hard to find types of cheese, like a Limberger, they have two different kinds. I bought a blue cheese spread it, and I know that my father will be breaking into that as soon as we get home. A recommended stop!

Yelp
So much wonderful cheese!!!! I think this may be what Heaven looks like. ;) So this is a great shop on the main drag in Frankenmuth. It's easy to pop in and check everything out. They have pretty much every cheese you can think of with some fun surprises thrown in. They have plenty of samples of all types of their cheese out as well. I love some free cheese. Yum! Want some cheddar, gouda, swiss, or even a cheese curd or two? Well this store has you covered! Want to try blueberry, jalapeño, or even mint chocolate cheese, they have that too! Try some funky flavors of the samples and you will probably be hooked on all of it. I think the samples are a trap. You try a bite and then buy a pound of it! Yes, many of the cheeses here can be found in your average grocery market, but I think the volume of cheese here is fantastic. You really can find whatever you are looking for, plus find a few surprises that you never knew what you wanted. For a store that's not food snobby, it really has a great selection. The staff were all friendly and helpful. No one was pushy or grouchy. They put up with all of the cheese-a-holic people eating their weight in some delicious cheese samples. They also have a lot of tasty stuff that goes well with cheese like wine, beer, crackers, breads, chocolates and more fun stuff. In short, if you like cheese, get over here ASAP. I promise you will fall in love with a cheese or 2 or 100. Give this shop a try and try something new while you are at it. ;)

Yelp
Oh my gosh I can't believe I haven't already reviewed the Cheese Haus! I have been coming here since I was seven, and it's easily the best place in Frankenmuth. Definitely not nearly as good during the pandemic, since the samples are like 60% of the awesomeness, but still worth a stop either way. The cheese is OUTSTANDING here. My favorites are the chocolate cheese, mango habanero cheese, port wine derby cheese, and port wine cheese spread. But there are so many amazing cheeses here that it's so hard to choose! Buffalo wing cheese and chicken soup cheese are some other highlights for sure, and the strawberry cheese spread (best on Nilla Wafers!). I look forward to stopping in to the Cheese Haus every time I'm in town- it's an absolute must!

Yelp
I had high hopes for this place being a tyrophile, but unfortunately it was just ok. Maybe because the store is in transition to it's new location, everything wasn't out yet. I was underwhelmed by what few cheeses were offered (I can find most varieties at the grocery store). The souvenir section was average at best, but I'm sure folks love this kind of stuff - t-shirts, mugs, kitchenware. I was a bit grossed out by the chocolate cheese, blueberry cheese, etc.

Yelp
A must for our family every time we visit Frankenmuth. So much so that we walked in the old location and didn't notice the giant new store across the plaza or the sign for the new business. Can you say auto pilot? The good news is The Cheese Haus still has a wide variety of great cheese to choose from as well as their signature cheese spreads. We found our favorites and a few different cheeses to try. Helpful staff who can custom cut the cheese so don't feel like you have to buy the prepackaged size.

Yelp
Cool fun spot for cheese lovers. I found some yummy fiery jalapeño cheese spread and a really good wild ginger beer, it's got a lots of bite and burns the back of my throat as I swig it down. It's great they allow you to try many items in the store and it works to get you to buy a lot.

Yelp
Like the name says they have cheese, and lots of it. Amoung the cheeses they have is a little delight called chocolate cheese. Cheese and chocolate in one, do I really need to say more? No, but I will. They have wines, candies, and other little snacks and teas/tea cups. They also have a statue of their mascot out front which is a good photo op for kids and adults alike. If you're in the area you should definitely stop in.

Yelp
Tasty and enjoyable stop while in Little Bavaria. Enjoy a few samples of their famous cheese spreads, local cheeses and more. Browse through plenty of snack options, as well as associated gifts and Cheese Haus themed items too. Want Cheese Haus boxers or a t-shirt? How about a coffee mug? They have it. A fun stop in a cute town.

Yelp
A neat cheese shop which features a good variety of cheese (by the pound) and delicious cheese spreads made right in the store. They also sell meats, food, gift boxes, beer, wine, and coffee. Visit their website for list of products, special coupons, and online ordering at: http://www.frankenmuthcheesehaus.com While we were passing through Frankenmuth, we stopped in here to pick up some cheese to bring back home. The Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheese and the Horseradish Cheese Spread were sooo good!
