Where to Find Margs That Give Back in St. Louis and Kansas City | Eater

"If Cottleville is St. Charles County’s buzziest address, Frankie Martin’s Garden helped put it on the map. Located in the heart of this charming neighborhood, the massive food truck park from the pioneers behind 9 Mile Garden boasts a rotating selection of the area’s most popular mobile culinary offerings. Plus, the open 2.74 acre space boasts pickleball and sand volleyball courts, live music acts, and a historic home converted into a premium spirits venue, the Whiskey House. Here, creative bartenders concoct libations like a shockingly fresh classic margarita with Astral Tequila, triple sec, fresh-squeezed lime, and a splash of water to keep things light for enjoying outside in the sun." - Vox Creative

Details: it’s open seating unless you reserve an area. Most of the venue has an Astro turf floor and it’s comfortable to sit on. However many people bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on. There’s plenty of space for kids and dogs. There will be a lot of them and golf carts. You have to order drinks from the garden and food from the food trucks. These were details I couldn’t ascertain prior to going there. I’d preferred to be better prepared but after scouring their website I couldn’t make heads or tails out of what was going on.

Great selection of food trucks. The Moobile food truck is frickin awesome! Monday Market at Frankie Martin's is a blast. Very family friendly and good entertainment. Be sure to pick up a slice of chocolate dipped cheesecake! If you like sports always check with FM's, they're likely to have the game on their big screen! They have pickleball courts as well as sand volleyball too.

Great atmosphere. We went with some friends and were able to get seats around a fire pit. It was a chilly night. Definitely recommend bringing blankets with you, if you go during cooler weather. Only one food truck and one dessert truck on the night we went, but both were delicious.

Frankie Martin’s Garden is the perfect end to a sunny Cottleville day. The patio is gorgeous, the energy is upbeat, and the drinks are next-level. We went for Green Tea Shots (smooth, sweet, dangerously sippable) and finished strong with Espresso Martinis that were rich, velvety, and gave us that second wind to keep the fun going. Whether you’re hanging out with friends, catching live music, or just enjoying the fresh air with a drink in hand—Frankie Martin’s nails it.

Google
Great outdoor venue. Nice turf, clean, lots of space. Several food trucks, a nice variety of cuisine. Buffalo chicken grilled cheese and lobster cheese sandwiches from the Cheese Shack truck were awesome! Great way to spend time with friends and family, appropriate for all ages. Us adults had a great time having some suds, toddlers were having a blast dancing to a live band on their stage. Overall, a great place and a great venue for a weekend get together.

It was such an awesome night I was in a wheelchair and I was still able to get up to see my friend Nikko play with DIRTY MUGGS and we had plenty of access to seating and everything. It was wonderful than you and I plan on returning soon.

After dinner, I enjoyed a cocktail at Frankie Martin's. Such a quaint and inviting atmosphere. I love exposed brick walls and beams.

Google
What an awesome and fun venue! A friend recommended this place a few weeks ago and we were finally able to come check it out. Parking is plentiful but the closest spots fill up fast so we found a small lot a couple blocks away and walked. Plenty of variety from the food trucks and my husband enjoyed the beer selection. Our small dog enjoyed socializing with the other pups there. Music was awesome, really enjoyed it! We definitely need to come back here often and enjoy more bands. Will be back for sure!

Yelp
A very cool outdoor venue to hang out and watch a game on the giant screen. Fantastic selection of local beers. Typically several food trucks staffed by friendly vendors with unique and delicious foods. And the place is always extremely clean!

Yelp
Just visited Frankie Martin's Garden for the first time while meeting up with some coworkers and their families! It was a VERY hot Wednesday night, and I think the place was pretty empty because of that. Because my partner and I had never been here before, we weren't sure where to park, but there's street parking all around, as well as a public lot nearby that we found an open spot in. Not sure how many food truck options are usually there, but there were only two to choose from when I went. My partner and I wanted to get the full experience, so we ordered a little something from both food trucks! The employees working at both were extremely friendly and efficient. The venue itself is so fun. I felt bad for the live musician who had to perform in the unbearable heat, but he persevered and did a great job. There's plenty of seating options, and everything is nice and spread out. At the bar, I had a peach margarita that definitely earned my approval. My partner had a rum-based skinny dip cocktail, and it was super refreshing in the heat. I loved to see so many people playing on the pickleball courts! The sand volleyball court also looked nice. I would love to come back this fall when the weather cooperates!

Yelp
First time here. This is an outside open air, sit and listen to the band playing sort of family fun place. Very clean, comfortable chairs and hanging lights make this a lovely fun place to hang out and listen to free music. Then add in a bunch of food trucks offering a nice variety and it is now a destination. Also so far, we have not noticed anyone smoking and we appreciate that! Just above the band playing is a huge TV with the Cardinals playing. So, now they really have covered the bases. Lots of little kids and people just hanging out with little cares for the rest of the world. Check it out! Well done Frankie Martin!

Yelp
Such a fun vibe for the summer and for the weekend! Great choice, great music and great food!

Yelp
This place has events going on all the time during the week and weekends. We came here for Saint Patrick's and Easter. Free events. Plenty of entertainment and food trucks of all kinds of flavors. Very well kept area up to date style. Service was a bit slow for my liking. Golf cart accessible and good cop security. Wish they had a cross walk by food trucks way too busy of a street. Definitely needs more parking.

Brittany K.

Yelp
I'm very disappointed in this place. I came here with some friends to celebrate my college graduation. The website said there were going to be 3 different food trucks and there was only one food truck that actually sold food. The other food truck was ice cream. None of the food trucks that were posted on their site were there. We were stuck buying food from the one truck there that was super overloaded with orders and took forever to get food because it was the only truck. We spent most our time there waiting for our food. Also, we had bought multiple drinks that were not cheap. It was a very hot day and after eating fried food (because that was the only option for food) I asked the bar for a cup of water. They refused to give me a cup of water in 96 degree weather! The patio was really nice but will not come again due too lack of food options and refusal of a simple cup of water on a hot day!

Yelp
My family and I were invited by friends to come to the big truck day. If it weren't for meeting friends we would have just left. This was our first time there and as soon as we got there one of the employees told us there is no outside food or drinks allowed. While I 100% understood for business purposes when you sell food and drinks of course you want to make money. When a customer tells you that they have food allergies and can't eat what is offered anyways. Which was only 1 of the 4 who would have bought from the trucks. So you still could have made money off my family. The bigger issue was my drink had electrolytes in it that I need for health reasons. Especially on a humid/hot summer day. The guy didn't care and said I couldn't bring it in. Needless to say we didn't stay long because there wasn't as many trucks there as we expected and I was getting light headed. When you have a customer that has health issues please do better. My husband was so upset how we were treated that we didn't eat there and when we left we ate somewhere else. I have never had any business tell me I can't bring in my own food when I mention my allergies. This is the first time in over 10 years an exception was not made. You really need to do better. The electrolytes and health issues related to the drink is new for me so I can't compare but I can tell you it's wrong to not care about the customers health on your property.

Yelp
Many of the concerns mentioned in earlier reviews seem to have been addressed. Soft drinks are available in the Beer Barn. A crosswalk signal has been installed to help pedestrians across Highway N. There's a public parking lot behind Frankie Martin's. Sand volleyball and pickleball courts provide extra entertainment to the live music and oversize TV sports stream. I arrived shortly before 9pm and the live country rock band, lively crowd, and STL City soccer game on the big screen provided a lot to watch and enjoy. There were only four food trucks and they were closing up. So, I couldn't judge the dining options other than to say ice cream, tacos, wings/chicken, and sandwiches were available. FM seems designed for families and judging by the number of kids running around, its operators have succeeded. It's clean throughout. Parking is convenient--there's a separate lot for golf carts. Bathrooms are available (with A/C!) and were clean despite the large crowd. Complementary cold water was available in the Beer Barn, and there were fountains outside the restrooms. Dog-friendly.

Yelp
We visited the whiskey house and the atmosphere was so relaxing and the perfect date spot as well as a group. We started our date day there and ended back there in the evening with friends. Lots of drinks to choose from! The staff were all very kind!

Yelp
Hi! I was bitten by a dog owned by one of the owners of this location. The management team said they would cover the medical bill of this incident. We called back to inform the manager of this incident shortly after this happened. Suddenly they claimed not to have any involvement. Absolutely distrustful and will say anything to keep business coming through the front door. Good beer but be aware of who you are doing business with.

Yelp
Really nice outdoor venue for food drinks and family fun. We stopped in in part because the La Colombionita food truck was here. There was also a BBQ truck and a baked potato truck. We ordered our food and made our way to the beer garden. A nice selection of beers and other adult beverages. Plenty of outdoor tables and pavilions to sit at. A large screen with football on. Beautiful setting and fantastic empanadas.

Yelp
I have left two voicemails for the event coordinator, Michelle Hanson, with no replies. I have sent six messages to them since 8/29 to which all have been ignored. I have been trying to reserve space for a large birthday party group and now we will be booking elsewhere.

Yelp
What a great venue for family and friends to spend a wonderful evening together! Kids can enjoy playing with friends while adults can enjoy live music, the game on the big screen , and a cold brew! The whole family can enjoy some tasty eats from the food trucks on site!

Yelp
Amazing place to have a drink and also watch a nice TV Astro turf floor lights benches very trendy place. The staff is very friendly and quick on service with drinks coming fast from the interior bar to the little whisky house.

Yelp
What a great new concept! Frankie Martin's Garden is a new outdoor food truck park with a outdoor bar brand-new restrooms artificial turf and many tables and pavilions to satisfy your culinary delights. Located in the booming metropolis of Cattleville Missouri. Lol! Well actually, Cottleville does have a pretty cool little downtown District with lots of entertainment and food choices. Hop in your golf cart, a must for a true Cottleville resident and head on down to Frankie Martin's Garden. You will find a variety of food trucks that change frequently. This is the perfect outdoor venue. When they have music it's even better!

Yelp
This is for Frankie Martin's itself, not the food trucks. It's a nice place, but you need to get here early to get a table (especially if there is an event going on that they're reserving tables for). If you're having trouble find a spot to park, you're going to have a problem finding a table. No soda fountain. If you're not drinking alcohol, you're probably better off getting a beverage off of one of the trucks. A bottle of soda is $3. For that price I want refills or at least to have it come from a fountain. They used to have the food truck schedule on the website, now you've got to check the Facebook page. That can be erratic (so can some of the trucks). Really you need to just drive by to see who actually showed up and is serving at any given time. If the weather sucks, you're going to have a bad time. Though it may be less crowded (assuming it's open). The food truck lineup (at least the regulars) is kind of 'meh' at the moment. Will award additional star(s) if it improves in the future.

Yelp
It was a crappy experience. we got together with one friend who brought their own alcohol, and the rest spent over $50 on food and drinks on property, we were approached told that every week we come in and bring our own alcohol and spoil business and were ALL kicked out, and they even took our friends cooler and threatened to call the cops for asking for it back, she assumed everyone was underage and didn't allow anyone to show an ID for proof, and never gave it back. safe to say we are never coming back, they claim signs are up, which are but cant be seen in the dark places they are in. And kicking everyone out over one person. Yeah done.

Yelp
Great place, but crazy prices... I paid $14.50 for a glass (plastic) of wine.. that is crazy...

Kristiene R.

Yelp
Yummy food and drinks with a great atmosphere. Friendly people too! Oh, and very clean

Stacy C.

Yelp
Not a big fan of this place. Nice place to sit around but the day we went two trucks didn't show up and all they had was a potato truck there for spuds and they were very overpriced for what you got. Not a big fan of this place.

Yelp
Food wasn't that ngood - it was expensive and the n s n mall cup b beer was $4. Just too money for me. Not worth
google avatar

Kristen S.

Yelp
Very clean and kid/dog friendly! I wish they had more food trucks and seating available during weekend events tho. If you go on a weekend during a concert, get there early or you will not have a seat and the truck will sell out of food.

Yelp
Place has an awesome set up. Bourbon house and beer barn. Different food trucks come each day so it's always something different offered for food. Tv screen playing sports, dogs allowed, fire pits, sand volleyball.... The place is amazing. Always a good option for a nightly hangout with friends or family.

Yelp
Was there for an impromptu dessert search. Went to one of the trucks that served ice cream sandwiches and it was meh. However the rest of the area was super cool. Definitely a great spot for a date night or het together with friends. Thursday night football is awesome there with the big screen TV

James B.

Yelp
Reminds me of an old "pimp my backyard up" tv show on a much larger scale. They have created a great atmosphere here, fun and chill. We had a good time.

Yelp
overpriced! beer is $7.5, tiny plate of pork nachos $14. holy ships! gas is cheap though, enjoy!!

Yelp
Unique outdoor food truck venue. Wide open spaces for families and friends to gather, with a fun community vibe.

Yelp
The venue is great! We had drinks at the bourbon bar and heard the band playing in the background. I have purchased food at the food truck for lunch before too. It's a fun place.

Yelp
I will be returning! Frankie Martins is a fun lively environment for all ages. Great addition to cottleville!

Yelp
Very nice outdoor place to enjoy a nice variety of beer and wine. Definitely a place I'll come back to.

Yelp
It honestly pains me to write this review because I genuinely like Frankie's and think the concept is awesome, but the service has to be one of the WORST for the money they charge. After many visits there, I decided to host my husband's 60th birthday party and it was nothing short of a huge disappointment. I'm actually embarrassed to admit the amount of $ I paid them to reserve 6 tables on the lawn and a fire pit. Let's just say it exceeded 500.00 which includes a 20% service fee, 3% venue fee and almost 10% tax rate. When my daughters arrived to decorate the tables were not ready and customers were sitting at the tables. It took a lot of effort to track down a manager for help. Upon our arrival I realized that the 2 fire pits I reserved were so far apart my guests would have to leave our party to enjoy. So i watched strangers use the fire pit I paid 100.00 for. Not a single time in the entire evening did anyone come by and ask if everyone was ok or if we needed anything. It's almost like we didn't even pay for a private party. This was the icing on the cake after weeks of poor and delayed communication with their event planner in my attempt to book the party. That should have been my first clue. A few days post the party, I emailed the party planner with pictures regarding the fire pit we were not able to use requesting a refund. It's was several days and did not hear back from her when I decided to call and speak to a manager. Because they never answer their phone I left a message on the management voicemail to receive an email from the event planner literally in 5 minutes from my message apologizing for not getting back to me and that she would refund me. I received the refund a few days later but was shorted the 20% service fee and taxes I was charged. AGAIN, emailed her about the shortage and literally to this day zero response. I then reached out by calling their whisky house in an attempt to speak with a manager or owner to only learn that the event manager is THE MANAGER. I was given the name of their HR person who I left a message for and she called me back.l on 11/17. She apologized and assured me she'd speak to the owners and get back with me by the following Tuesday. It's Saturday and no response. I would give zero stars if I could and do NOT ever recommend dealing with Frankie's for a private event.

Rachel C.

Yelp
What a wonderful addition to Cottleville!! It's so wonderful to have a space like Frankie Martins. The times I've been there have been nothing but great. The atmosphere is family friendly. They allow you to have dogs which is a huge plus! Just nothing better than hanging with friends outside, under the lights, great food from the food trucks and an awesome selection of drinks! I've only been in the summer but I'm excited to see what they are able to do for the winter time! Will continue to come back to Frankie Martins!

Mindy M.

Yelp
Rented a pavilion here for a group event. Michelle was great to deal with, rental was easy and everything set up as we wanted. The venue itself is really nice and clean, lots of groups enjoying a beautiful fall afternoon. The only glitch was that only one food truck showed up. On a Saturday afternoon. Since we couldn't bring in outside food if any food trucks were open, that meant baked potatoes from the only truck there or nothing. So nobody ate lunch, but we still had a good time. We all agreed we would do it again, just be aware, you might not have much available for food during the day.

Alyssa L.

Yelp
such a cool and nice family-friendly place, the area is very pretty, and they have food trucks everyday which is cool- will definitely be coming back again!

Kathy S.

Yelp
Prices to high! $46.00 for a bottle of wine & waiting 40 mins. to get. That price is more than what wineries charge! Lines to long & parking is a challenge! People are bringing in coolers, when I was told you can't! Children & dogs all over the place, parents drinking what they brought. Great concept, but needs some review & sticking to rules, or make changes.

Mary T.

Yelp
First time going to Frankie Martin's. The place itself is pretty cool. However the staff at the bar were NOT very friendly at all. We had a group of 15 people and everyone who went to the bar came back to the table and said how rude the staff is. It would be helpful if you had little drink menu's on the table so guest who haven't been there can read about the beers you have. On your FB page you stated a flight of beers was 6 but your staff had not clue you were running a special, charged us 9. Also, I bought a frozen drink, paid for it and then was asked by a staff member if I paid for it. I understand customer service is hard, I work in every day but if you don't like serving people, do not work in the environment. We also spent money at the food trucks on hand. We also asked for the ceiling fans to be turned down because last night was cool night and we actually had to put on jackets because the staff said the fans were on a timer?? Maybe so..might want to check on that too. I think they turned on the fans to make us leave. Again, if your staff doesn't want to work, find other people who do. Also, I live in that area not sure why it says San Fran, CA
