"Whether you’re coming for a drink, a bite, or both, Franklin Ave. Cocktails & Kitchen is one of the hottest destinations in town. Built inside the historic Franklin Avenue Variety Theatre building, the basement has art on every surface, exposed historic brickwork, and leather-trimmed bar seats. Make a reservation if you plan on dining upstairs, or just walk in, grab a barstool, and watch bartenders mix up some cocktails (and a seasonal selection of mocktails). Every entree is a banger, like the hearty wagyu burger, roasted chicken, and pappardelle bolognese. But save room for dessert and get their ever-changing take on raspado, currently made with maple cinnamon-caramel ice cream, apple cider syrup, and spiced apples." - Jenny Willden

Google
Outstanding restaurant, my wife and I eat here at least twice a month! Great staff, creative + rotating specials, and amazing cocktails! This, plus the vibe makes this one of the best restaurants in Utah.

Google
This was a great place to grab a great brunch! We really enjoyed the food and we had polite, friendly service. The atmosphere inside is great - trendy and posh. The atmosphere in the neighborhood is not as great and we just weren't expecting to see so many unhoused people at the entrances to all the businesses there.

Google
This was my first time coming here and I'm so glad I did. Delicious drinks and good food. I had the Material Girl and Gray Matter cocktails. We enjoyed the deviled eggs, but the loaded potatoes were especially spectacular. The wagyu burger was great. My husband inhaled the chicken sandwich and he never eats that much... so that's a compliment. Friendly staff, quick service... And impeccable atmosphere.

Google
Great little hidden spot in downtown Salt Lake. Two levels and a patio. Unique and upscale menu with small bites, sandwiches and entrees. Excellent cocktail/beer menu either top shelf liquor. Great atmosphere. Great service. Definitely a favorite

Google
Love Franklin Ave! Whenever I come back to SLC to visit family, we always make sure to grab a reservation here to enjoy the good food and drinks. The service is stellar, the food is delicious and high quality, and the drink selection is really great. I loved the steak sandwich I had on my last visit, and have been impressed every other time I've come through for both breakfast (the duck confit chilaquiles made an incredible breakfast) and dinner. I really appreciate that the menu feels really classic with an upscale American vibe, but with a slight Asian flare from some of their ingredient selection (chili oil, kimchi, etc.). Franklin Ave does what they do really well, and I would highly recommend visiting.

Google
I’ve been to Franklin multiple times, brunch, lunch and dinner and it’s consistently good. Portions are generous, sparkling wine by the glass is also generous and most importantly most of the food I have had here keeps me coming back. The house chips, the broccolini, steak salad, list goes on. Most recently I had their duck confit chilaquiles for brunch. It was very good. Just wish it were a bit spicier, but the whole combo was very well balanced, good textures….ooffff…. Will be back soon!!

Google
Franklin Ave. blew me away! I ordered the Fried Chicken Sandwich with sweet sambal, kimchi pickles, napa slaw, and dynamite aioli — it was phenomenal. Perfectly crispy, a little heat, a little tang, and tons of flavor. For dessert, the Chocolate Doughnut with sea salt, cardamom, pastry cream, cocoa nibs, and a scoop of their house vanilla ice cream was next-level. Rich and indulgent — the perfect way to end the meal. Service was excellent. Friendly, attentive, and really knowledgeable about the menu. The whole experience felt relaxed but high quality. Definitely a new favorite in Salt Lake City!

Google
Fantastic brunch and drinks! Everything was great, and loved the low-key but sophisticated atmosphere! We were seated promptly and our waitress gave us some recommendations on drinks. The Peru and back is fantastic, something I will definitely get again and again! The steak sandwich and steak salad was great, everything fresh and cooked to perfection. Lastly, the dill pickle potatoes chips with whipped feta was amazing, and I'm not even a fan of anything pickled. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
This is hands down one of my favorite places in SLC! Amazing food and cocktails! Lacie and Grace were also extremely helpful in getting my reservation set up. Franklin Ave is a must try!

Yelp
All around excellent experience! Fantastic food, great service and lovely ambiance. I don't normally order deviled eggs, but glad I did! They were divine! The caesar salad was one of the best I've had in a long time. When we arrived, we asked the host what her favorite dish was and she recommended the friend chicken sandwich, which was excellent! Will definitely be back!

Yelp
Off the beaten path, you will find this cozy little haven for gastronomy. The bar has an astounding selection and the bartenders are very knowledgeable if you want to wander off their cocktail menu. The menu has a good balance of smaller, shareable plates and heartier dishes for a complete meal. Try the deviled eggs. They're a few steps up from whatever you thought a deviled egg SHOULD be. We tried a couple different dishes and everything was delicious. Highly recommended for those visiting downtown Salt Lake City.

Yelp
Wow this place was so unexpected! Was in Salt Lake for business and this restaurant was recommended to our group. We loved it so much we went twice during our 3 day trip. Cocktails were creative and delicious, every appetizer and entree we had was incredible and the service was excellent! Over the two visits we tried so many things on the menu but highlights were the appetizers. Personal favorites included: kimchi pickles, steak tartare, roasted carrots (I don't even like carrots normally but I'd eat these everyday), mushroom beignets, and the herb fries. Everybody in our party raved about their entrees. I had the gnocchi which was delicious. Pork belly was a little over cooked in my opinion but still delicious. The 2nd night I stuck to mocktails and they were so good. I would absolute come back next time I'm in town.

Yelp
My wife, a friend and I went to Franklin Ave Cocktails & Kitchen for brunch on Sunday. It's a nice looking place on South Edison Street, which is a mid-block street downtown that used to be called Franklin Avenue. If you prefer to dine out without the presence of children, this is a terrific option, because it's a bar and nobody under the age of 21 is allowed inside. The space is set up more like a bar than a restaurant, with bar seating and high top tables. The staff working the tables are quietly efficient. We were heading to the airport, so we weren't free to relax and hang out for as long as we wanted, but the drinks and food were all very good. I had Campfire cocktail, which is similar to a piña colada, but made with smoky Laphroaig scotch, instead of rum. My wife went with a Peru-N-Back, which is similar to a mule, but made with pisco, instead of vodka. The Brunch menu had enough variety to be interesting. We started with a Snack of Scotch Olives, which are an interesting twist on scotch eggs. We ended up trying only two of the Brunch main courses, the Avocado Toast and the Dungeness Crab Omelette. Both were very well prepared. My wife was particularly impressed by the jiggly, perfectly poached egg on the Avocado Toast. All in all, we plan to return for another meal, when we have more time.

Amy L.

Yelp
I made a reservation for a Sunday to try their brunch with a few friends. It wasn't too busy when we arrived, but it was very lively when we left. The vibe is moody, with great music. I started off with coffee, but unfortunately tasted a little burnt. We ordered the Brussels sprouts, deviled eggs, and avocado toast. The Brussels sprouts were a bit salty, but I enjoyed the deviled eggs and avocado toast. The toast had Korean pickle daikon, which was different but good! The service was good, and they were great at giving their recommendations. I would love to come back and try their dinner menu!

Yelp
We came here for my friend birthday during the weekend, and let me say that if you come a bit later (8-ish) there's not too many people. If you didn't have an appointment this is the best time to come. We got sat immediately, but we also chose to sit at the outside bar area since it was only 3 of us. Even though we were outside we were never forgotten. The service was great! We weren't too hungry so we ordered a bunch of appetizers. The devil eggs were good. It was creamy and had the perfect tang. The beignets aren't your usual. It's savory and one of my favorite. I really enjoyed our time here and would absolutely comeback to eat more.

Jeff S.

Yelp
I really enjoyed the vibe and Franklin Fantastic drinks by Q at the bar. Took the time to explain what was available as well as great knowledge of the menu Fresh pasta in the fettuccine was off the charts good. Traveling to Salt Lake but next time I will be back!

Rebecca N.

Yelp
The food - brussel sprouts will change your life. I wanted to eat spoonfuls of the whipped feta. I was skeptical of the mushroom beignets but absolutely loved them. The Caesar I'd skip but would definitely go back just for the burger. It was smokey and cheesy and beefy and great. Also the miso cod, which I wouldn't have ordered if not for the servers recommendations. I died over the sauce on that cod. It's a bar so louder than I wanted it to be and there was a fan blowing cold air on me on and off all night. Other than that the lighting was perfect, the furniture and decor felt like a library, or comfortable like your grandmas house. Whatever aesthetic they were going for was exactly right. Will go back as soon as I can arrange a babysitter and take my husband.

Yelp
Went here Saturday for lunch. It is a beautiful place. Historic, comfortable and a vibe. The history of the building and area are on the menu, very fun read. Service was great. Very polite, prompt and not in your face. Our cocktails were great but the food was amazing. We got the deviled eggs ( best I've ever had) and the wagyu steak sandwich. Their kimchi house pickles and herbed French fries are phenomenal. Very happy w our experience here!

Yelp
I found my new favorite Vesper-made by the fabulous bartender, Ezra. You might think they are all the same, but you'd be wrong. The varied liquor that is used, the glass that it's served in and even the lemon twist can make or break this distinguished drink. And while I've enjoyed most Vespers that I've had elsewhere, the one that Ezra whipped up for me last night far surpassed the others. Well done, my friend. Not only was the martini top shelf (literally), but the ambience of this bar is movie-worthy. The décor, the lighting, the layout-it's all fantastic and begs to be appreciated. You can sit at the bar, at a table or sneak downstairs for a whole other floor of much the same. We also ordered the garlic fries as an appetizer before we went elsewhere for a main course (we were doing a progressive dinner experience-trying multiple places throughout the night). Those fries were fire! The seasoning was perfect and I had to restrain myself from savagely flat-palm shoveling them into my mouth. They were that good. Now that I've discovered Franklin Ave, I might become a regular. Watch for the redhead in the corner sipping on a Vesper eating a plateful of French fries.

Yelp
We went to Franklin Ave Cocktails and Kitchen in downtown SLC for date night as per the local restaurant review group's recommendation. Honestly, it was such a great experience. Amazing food, service, and atmosphere. We tried six different cocktails between the two of us, all of which were beautifully crafted and amazing. For appetizers, we shared the deviled eggs and scotch olives. The deviled eggs weren't anything special, but I would highly recommend the scotch olives. For entrees, my husband got the lobster ravioli and I got the wagyu beef. Although the ravioli was good, the beef stole the show. One of the best steak preparations we've had. We finished off the night with the chocolate cremeux, which was a bit too rich and didn't have enough texture, even with the brittle. Overall, amazing place. Great for date night. Our bill came in under $200 before tip, which felt reasonable considering the amount of food we had. Our server was friendly and attentive as well.

Yelp
Food: 4/5 We were in SLC looking for a place to eat and stumbled on this place. We ordered 2 appetizers and 1 entree and it was more than enough food for 2. We got the Mushroom Beignets, which had good flavor and soft dough, I do wish it had more mushrooms though. We wanted the deviled eggs but unfortunately they were out at the time. Instead we got the Brussel Sprouts, which had really great flavor and combination of ingredients, we enjoyed this dish more than expected. Finally, we had the Pork Belly w Gnocchi entree, which was a bit on the tarte side but still had a nice savory flavor. We also ordered the Blueberry Spritzer, which is non-alcoholic and fairly sour, I could pass on this drink next time. Overall, flavor was fine but it's just a bit overpriced for what it is. It was nice to try out though! Service: 5/5 Our server was attentive and checked in ample times. Wait times for the food was reasonable and all items came out in a timely matter. Ambiance: 5/5 Gives downtowny vibes, the decor and vibe reminds me of a speakeasy/bar scene. It's clean inside and there's enough tables and bar seating available to note: the parking is quite confusing because of the construction going on near the restaurant and we parked around the corner on street parking. there's a parking lot right next to the place though so just something to note.

Yelp
We came here for an after dinner cocktail on a night out in Salt Lake City. This spot has a fun gastropub vibe and some fun cocktails with fun names. We arrived around 9:30pm and settled in to a high top table in the bar area. It was lively and our server was friendly and cool. We had the Leave Britney Alone, Rum Old Fashioned, and the La Verdad. All of us liked our cocktails and would definitely return for more drinks and food.

Kevin T.

Yelp
Food: The food is made fresh to order here. My partner and I ordered the Mushroom beignets, Brussel sprouts, and gnocchi. We wanted to order the deviled eggs, but they were out for the night. The campfire was smoky and strong. The Oaxaca old fashioned was smooth, and couldn't taste the mezcal as much. The Brussel sprouts were cooked perfectly and come with walnuts, red peppers, and bacon bits. Mushroom beignets were airy and soft, I wish there were more mushrooms inside, the extra mushroom on the side was a great touch and the sauce was refreshing. The gnocchi was fresh and the pork was crispy, yet juicy because it's braised. Service: Our server was very helpful and provided us all we needed. Ambiance: It feels very old school inside, but it's spacious. There is a parking lot in front of the restaurant which was a bit hard to find.

Yelp
The food here is excellent and the service was fantastic, aside from a couple of hiccups we ran into during our dinner here last night. Our server was clearly new to the job, because he had to get help from another employee to enter my husband and I's orders into their system, and there were a few times he had to ask other employees questions in order to answer our's. Him being new didn't necessarily bother us though, especially since he had a very positive attitude. My husband and I started off with the herbed fries appetizer, which comes with a garlic aioli dipping sauce. The fries were delicious and perfectly crisp! The garlic aioli was tasty, but not as heavy on the garlic flavor as I thought it would be. I prefer a heavier garlic taste in garlic sauces, so I was a tad bit disappointed by the aioli. I ordered the wagyu burger and my god am I glad I did. The burger itself was beyond insane, but what really surprised me were the pickles it came with! They aren't your standard pickles that you'd expect to come on a burger. I have always hated the strong, overwhelming pickle taste that tends to overshadow everything else, but these pickles had a much more mild pickle flavor and I found myself enjoying the burger with these pickles, which is unheard of for me. I didn't realize that my wagyu burger was going to be served with the herbed fries, and incorrectly assumed that some different standard fries would come with it. If I had paid more attention to the menu and knew they served the herbed fries with the burger, I would've gotten a different appetizer because I was slightly irked that I basically paid for an appetizer of extra fries and an aioli that was slightly disappointing due to the very mild garlic flavor. My husband got the crispy fish and he absolutely loved it! He said it was hearty and beyond delicious. Absolutely worth ordering again and again! His only criticism would be that the sandwich itself was really messy and could be a little tricky to keep together when eating. Make sure to have your napkin ready for this one! As mentioned earlier, there were a couple of minor service hiccups that we experienced. One being my husband receiving fries with his meal instead of the chips he chose. Our server noticed that he got fries instead of the chips he ordered, and made a light joke about it, but didn't offer to fix the problem by simply requesting the chips to be brought down to him. We chalked it up to him being newer and my husband didn't want to make a big deal out of it. Another small hiccup involved us requesting sides of ranch, watching our server put the order for them in, and never receiving them. I also asked for my burger to be made well done with no onions, and it came with a pink center and onions. Again, pretty minor issues that wouldn't deter us from coming back again! All in all, my husband and I were very glad we chose Franklin Ave Cocktails and Kitchen for our New Year's Eve dinner, and we absolutely will be coming back for more tasty food!

Kaela S.

Yelp
Forgive me for not being super accurate with my description of what I ate here 'cos it's been a couple of weeks--despite that, I do remember having an excellent meal and being glad to try a little bit of everything! The food here is incredible and the drinks are even better. I adore the atmosphere, it's so lovely and cute and it's honestly the perfect place for a girls night out or a dinner date. The only reason I rate this place 4 stars is because unfortunately, our server was really slow. They took so long to take our drink orders, gave us a very long time in between drinks and apps (my buzz was gone by the time our food arrived), and didn't take our entrees until we flagged them down. Their outfit was super cute, but their service was far from satisfactory. I love the food and I'd come again, I would just hope it doesn't take so long next time, haha.

Yelp
Tucked neatly into a fun alley of downtown Salt Lake, Franklin Avenue is a respite from the outer world. Their food is truly spectacular - beautifully plated, with fresh ingredients, and unique offerings. The service was fast and very professional. Originally, I came here just to try their Black Cod (one of my favorite dishes) and I must say, it is worth a visit for that dish alone. This has climbed to near the top of my list in SLC and I regularly recommend it to out of town guests.

Matt C.

Yelp
Franklin Ave. exceeded my expectations and then some. Dinner and drinks were nothing short of fantastic. What a gem in Downtown SLC. You walk down an alley that boasts several unique businesses. Once you enter, you're welcomed into a comfortable and spacious environment. From an open kitchen to a stunning back bar, if you're into craft cocktails and from scratch food, I can't think of a more ideal place to visit. Three of us split a variety of different items. I can honestly say everything we tried was great. I'd order each of these over again. But the remainder of the menu also sounds delicious. Consider me impressed. DRINKS +SO FLY LIST // Wahaka mezcal, Green Chartreuse, Chareau Aloe liqueur, lime, simple. Served up, this cocktail was refreshing yet robust in flavor. Citrusy, bright and smoky. +KINGSTON NEGRONI // Smith & Cross navy strength rum, Campari, Carpano Antica. Negronis are one of my favorite drinks and this was a properly made riff with the navy strength rum. Perfect after dinner cocktail IMO. APPS +MUSHROOM BEIGNETS // Intermountain mushrooms, green goddess. WOW. Never thought these two words went together, but clearly they do. Light, airy, yet aromatic mushroom flavor. Must order for a unique foodie experience. +LOADED POTATOES // Bacon, hollandaise, Fresno, pickled shallot, green onion. Just read all the ingredients. Impossible to be bad. Love the fresno chile for a bit of kick. +BRUSSELS SPROUTS // Medjool dates, bacon, marcona almonds, calabrian chile, Meyer lemon aioli. Brussels are overplayed at this point, but damnit these were delicious. Perfectly executed. MAINS +WAGYU BURGER // Thick cut bacon, American cheese, lettuce, griddled onion, pickles, tomato, dukes mayo. Tasty burger. Cooked to our liking, lively accoutrements, quality meat. +CAULIFLOWER STEAK // Pistachio butter, chermoula, Castelvetrano, dates, greens, frico. I was saving room for dessert so I didn't try this. My tablemates loved it. +DESSERT CHOCOLATE CREMEUX // White miso, chile crisp peanut brittle, vanilla bean ice cream. WOAH. I'm not normally a desserts guy but holy moses this was unbelievably good. Rich, not for the faint of heart. The flavors were amplified to a higher power. Get your ass over to Franklin Ave. for a 5-star experience. Make a reservation right on their Yelp page! Truly excellent meal I'll be thinking about for awhile!

Jenny V.

Yelp
The Brussel sprouts were delicious! Lavender drop spritz was pretty good too! I would recommend!

Chris L.

Yelp
Absolutely a gem - literally everything was amazing - well poured cocktails. Apps were incredible (like all of them and yes we ordered all of them) especially snap peas (OMG), main entrees were excellent - had a special with beef stroganoff which was exceptional, crab ravioli, black cod, steak - just literally not a single flaw. Ambience was perfect, kind of a speak easy vibe and service was excellent and food came out quick. Even the bar snacks were too shelf. Pretty sure you cannot go wrong with anything here. I eat at a lot if cities and this is a top 5 in the US, easily.

Kaytlin K.

Yelp
Waited almost two hours to come in and I'm glad we did! Food, drinks and service were top notch. The management was very well organized and checked in on us after our long wait. Clean bathrooms and a really cool upstairs and downstairs seating area. Great music and so much to look at while dining. I really enjoyed the deviled eggs and brussel sprouts, amongst the delish cocktails.

Dawn K.

Yelp
Another little gem in Salt Lake City. The space is clean, dark and cozy, with a hint of elegance. The hostess was so gracious, and our waiter was so great and helpful. The problem with a menu that has everyone that I love, makes me have to order more food than I normally would. We started with; Deviled eggs, they were over flowing with so much goodness, they tipped over on the plate, so creamy, and that crispy crunch from the duck cracklin, with a hint of hot sauce...perfect. Mushroom beignets, I didn't expect it to be covered in greens, but it added a light earthly feel to the soft pillowy dough. I really liked them, but my husband thought they were just okay. Brussels sprouts. I was worried about the thick aioli, but it was infused with Meyer lemon, which added a sweet citrus acid next to the bitterness of the Brussels, and the dates, oh my, these were very good. I couldn't resist the baby gem, with crab and avocado. It was delicious, but needed salt and pepper, which was not readily available. My husband got Mafaldine, it sounded so good, but the flavor was like nothing we've tasted. I'm not sure what it was, but we didn't love it. Maybe we don't like duck? My main was the cod, and it was SO yummy!I love the flavor of miso and soy, and this dish was cooked and seasoned to perfection! I loved the added mushrooms and snap peas. Get it! Definitely want to come back to try more!

Ty B.

Yelp
One of the best brunch meals I've had since I lived in New Orleans. Top 5 of all time. My bartender Mikayla is a future star. Killer Bloody Mary. Thank you for the conversation/banter. Then came the Dungeness crab omelette which was delicious and stuffed and perfectly cooked. The brined/marinated side of greens that accompanied it was excellent. Damn nearly literally licked my plate. Which I'm not above. Bravo, Chef Eric, guys and gals and all of your crew. Truly outstanding. Hope to see you soon.

Kayla S.

Yelp
This spot was really chic and the cocktails were unique and tasty. Our server was sweet and attentive. Definitely check it out for a speakeasy vibe!

Yelp
My wife and I spontaneously decided to dine out before attending a concert in Salt Lake City, and Franklin Ave. graciously accommodated us, even though they were fully booked. Nestled in an unassuming yet charming and vibrant alley, this place immediately charmed us with its welcoming ambiance. We were warmly greeted and promptly ushered to our seats. The interior boasted exquisite aesthetics, reminiscent of the stylish vibe you'd find in the heart of New York City. To kick things off, we opted for the deviled eggs. This was my first time trying them with hot sauce, and it turned out to be a delightful revelation, though we thought the filling could use a touch more tang. For our main course, both of us went for the wagyu burgers, which checked all the boxes for a delicious burger experience - juicy drippings, messy hands, and an extended moment to savor the flavors. While the fries were decent, they could have been hotter and crispier. We also indulged in sides of their aioli, both the standard and the spicy version. They were delightful for dipping, although the spicy variant lacked the expected kick. My wife decided to go for the raspberry rosewater lemonade, and she found it quite enjoyable. Throughout our meal, we relished not only the food but also the warm, inviting, and tranquil atmosphere. Franklin Ave. certainly made our last-minute dinner plans a delightful experience.

Sue S.

Yelp
The ambiance here was so alluring. Dark bar with hundreds of bottles. The menu was eclectic!

Trang D.

Yelp
Came here for a double date with my bestie. We heard of this place by accident and agreed next time we'd stop by. It was not a disappointment! We started off with drinks, my bestie friend got a beer because she was waiting for us. Parking was terrible. Our rsvp was at 7:15pm. I got the Lavender Drop Spritz, my husband got the Youth in Revolt and my bestie fiancé got the mule. When my bestie finished her beer she ordered a cocktail that wasn't on the menu, a espresso martini! The cocktails were so yummy! For our starters we got the deviled eggs and Brussels sprouts! Both cooked to perfection! For our meals my husband and I got the Wagyu Steak medium rare to split, everything on the plate was cleaned! It was so yummy! My besties fiancé got the Mafaldine that was also yummy! My bestie got the wagyu burger it was also delicious! The fries were a little salty but overall yummy!

Maria N.

Yelp
I really love this place! Food menu had many options and many ingredients are locally sourced. The steak salad was soooo bomb, light, refreshing and packed with deliciousness. Mushroom beignets we're light and fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. Many items I want to try next time. The atmosphere was very casual and laid back for a Thursday evening.

Corinne K.

Yelp
Ezra and Madi took great care of us - vibes on point. The Brussels sprouts, wagyu burger, and wagyu sandwich were incredible. Would highly recommend the ribs!

Jenee' J.

Yelp
Okay. So first off, wasn't exactly sure where to park so ended up with paid parking around the corner. Next time I'll look that up before I go but that will not impact my rating. They brought us downstairs and the place was cute had speakeasy type vibes with big comfy tables all around. We were seated at the 2 tops that were much closer to each other than I'd prefer and i am sure everyone loved hearing our convo but again who cares. Not impacting my rating. Our server was super attentive, very friendly and knowledgeable about the food. I am a pansy when it comes to spice so I had asked to remove chilis and such from various dishes and she explained which ones made sense and dish would still taste fabulous vs the ones where it wouldn't make sense to remove the spicy element. This was very helpful!! We ended up getting several appetizers to share like the dill chips with whipped feta, Brussels sprouts (minus chile) and the deviled eggs with hot sauce on the side. The dill chips were a huge portion while the whipped feta was tiny in comparison. Honestly, this was my ONLY complaint of any food or drink item the entire night. The chips were very large too so it was difficult getting into the whipped feta and if I had used a spoon, I would've easily spooned the entire bowl with one serving so didn't think that was right. Just a word of warning. I had leftover chips and no leftover dip of course. The Brussels were so good. There was hints of fig hidden in the dish that we didn't find until we got to the bottom but the added sweetness with the caramelization was such a nice touch. The bacon bits were PERFECT topping too. The deviled eggs were the perfect portion! You could eat it in one bite and the crispy on top was a delicious touch! I would've gotten them a few more times especially if there had been more people with us. There was only 2 people so the 4 deviled eggs was a good portion. For dinner, we got the wagyu steak and the wagyu burger with fries. The wagyu steak literally melted in my mouth. It was so crispy and flavorful on the outside especially with the blue cheese glaze but so easy to cut and perfectly cooked inside. The glazed carrots with butternut underneath were so good and the crispy broccolini bits on top of it all were so good. EXTREMELY crispy and had a truffle taste to them. I loved that surprise! My friend ate every last bit of her burger and said it was also perfectly cooked and a very good portion size as well. The fries were crispy and seasoned so well too. 10/10 highly recommend this place and will def be coming back!

Yelp
I love this place!!!! Best new addition to Salt Lake City. The food is divine, drinks are great, vibes are even better! The bartenders really know how to make it a fun night too. They have great recommendations and are so attentive! I love that you can come here for a date, if you want to go out on the town, or with girlfriends. It really is the perfect spot for any occasion. A must try spot!!

Yelp
Planned on some dinner with my best friend and her husband on a double date, and we decided to try this place because we've seen it from across the street we've been at previously! Upon walking in the insides and vibes were pretty cool, dimly lit. We were seated downstairs. We started off with Brussel sprouts and deviled eggs for a starter. The deviled eggs and Brussel sprouts were delicious starter! And the drinks were awesome too. I got a wagyu burger, my fiancé got the pasta and my friends got the wagyu steak. I say a bit overpriced for the food but decent. Would come again!

Yelp
Really cool location and vibe. We really liked the appetizers: Brussel sprouts, potatoes and deviled eggs but the mushroom beignets were not great. I had the green salad, which was fresh but just okay. I also had the wagyu steak which came out warm, which is a disappointment. Overall it's a cool restaurant, but my main entree and service were a little bit of a let down.

Yelp
The service was excellent. The server asked if we'd been in, and we hadn't, so she briefly went over the menu and let us look at it for a minute. We ordered some brunch items and the brussel sprouts appetizer. The appetizer came out first, and they gave enough time before our main dishes came out. I got the BLT benedict, and my mom and friend got the breakfast sandwich. All came with crispy potatoes. Two of the 3 dishes had perfect potatoes, but my mom's were quite burnt. We shared mine because I wouldn't finish them anyway. They were very yummy. The brussel sprouts were delectable. Very crispy and the aioli was awesome. I kinda wish I had extra to dip my potatoes in. I'm very picky with my hollandaise, and it hit the mark here. It was actually seasoned with salt and lemon! The poached eggs were cooked perfectly. I loved the bread it was on, and the tomato was a great addition. While I live bacon, it didn't work as well with this dish. It is thick and was quite hard to cut through. I ended up just eating it on the side. I did love that it was nice and crispy and not floppy. The breakfast sandwiches were definitely a hit. They were eaten entirely. I also loved that they have sparkling wines by the glass that aren't just prosecco. Inside the building is very natural, open windows across the whole front of the restaurant allow tons of natural light. The alleyway is painted with cool art. Theres a small pay lot for parking just across the street.

Yelp
I love that this little alley is getting some wonderful restaurants and bars! The construction in this area is a little crazy right now, so plan ahead and maybe Uber to avoid any parking issues! There's a parking lot and I believe a parking garage accessible from Franklin Ave. I had never even heard of a mushroom/savory beignet until I came to Franklin Ave! They came with a creamy sauce and were so delicious. I would highly recommend! We also got an order of fries, which came with a huge portion of fries and they were crispy and deliciously seasoned. I got their papardelle, which was one of the only vegetarian items on the menu as a main dish. Their menu is fairly limited - they have some shareables and appetizers, a handful of sandwiches/burgers, salads, and entrees. Their papardelle was yummy - it came with pesto, tomatoes, and was topped with burrata. I'm a sucker for anything that involves burrata! I got their lavender spritz and it was really yummy! They have some really great craft cocktails on their menu. The lavender spritz came with a sugar rim and was We were seated downstairs - I didn't even know they had a downstairs! Our server was wonderful - I'm completely blanking on her name but I know it started with a T and it was a really beautiful name - maybe Tyanna? She was really sweet and took such good care of us! Excited to come back here for drinks again!

Yelp
Such a cool bar addition to Sugarhouse. I was in town visiting some friends, and I really liked this cocktail bar. The drinks were fantastic, and I was happy we could get a spot here on a busy Friday afternoon. The staff were very accommodating when we wanted to sit outside after sitting at the bar, and they were super friendly and helpful when we asked for drink recommendations.

Yelp
This is a winner of a restaurant located in an unassuming alley. After several visits now, I'm confident in the quality of the service, food and overall experience. This is so refreshing after an abysmal experience at Van Ryder this week. Franklin Ave has it DIALED. We sat at the bar, which is our preferred seating, and Justin, our server, anticipated our every whim, right on cue, as if he was some kind of mind reader. Delicata tempura squash, scotch olives, and the black cod with miso and dashi shared between was a perfect and memorable meal. The folks in the kitchen, behind the bar, and everywhere else in this restaurant know what they're doing.

Yelp
Food. Service. Ambiance. Was also quite surprised that the prices weren't steep considering how nice the place was! The only thing was the cauliflower I ordered - it was still pretty hard (tough to cut) & I would've enjoyed it with more a seasoned/herbal sauce. Nonetheless, the other options were great. The Caesar salad was amazing! *Chef's Kiss* 4.5/5 stars

Yelp
Visited on 02/04/2023. I'm just a slacker when it comes to reviewing, lol. I honestly really loved just about all the dishes here. I ended up ordering the steak tartare for the table. This is the one dish I didn't like.. it was more like a ceviche. A bit too sour for it to be a good tartare. I kept asking the server for salt, but she never got it to me. I think it would have been better if I could pound that thing with salt, lol. I also ordered the steak and eggs. That was good, no complaints there. For dessert, the lemon tart was selected. I think this one here is the star of the show. It was freshly made, and it was so good that it made some of my friends go back. Unfortunately, they said that it wasn't good the second time around.. I must have gotten lucky and received a fresh batch.

Yelp
We absolutely love Franklin, and it's become one of regular date night locations for drinks and food. Favorite things on the menu are the snap peas, so good! Milla was our server last night and we loved her! Very knowledgeable and engaging in conversation. See you next time!

Yelp
This place is AMAZING!!! Just go and eat good food with super nice people. The food was so rich, hearty, comforting, and delicious. The drinks are strong and soooo good. Check out the pictures. If you sit at the bar have the bartender named Q (he's really cute too ) make you your own special drink and you can name it. I went to this restaurant my last night in Salt Lake City, and it was the best decision and an amazing experience. To put the icing on the cake the restaurant has the same name as my Dad. I'll be back Franklin Ave.! 10 out of 10 I totally recommend.

Yelp
Don't you hate it when you have a great meal and then you go back later date and get disappointed? That won't happen here. It's our 3rd visit and their Wagyu burger is consistent. We tried something new too -- starter, deviled eggs. So delish!!! Extra creamy and the crispy duck crunch is perfect, but watch out for splash of hot sauce. It caught us by surprise, but we were quick to our cocktails to squelch the heat.

Yelp
Delicious food, amazing service, and fun music! Came here for a work dinner and we all had a really great time. I think every single dish we had was delicious so I recommend them all. Likewise, everyone enjoyed their cocktails and beer. Highly recommend for anyone visiting the SLC area.

Yelp
WHAT CAN I SAY EXCEPT PERFECT DATE NIGHT PLACE! The service was prompt and friendly, our waitress did an exceptional job getting our drinks and meals to us quickly. The chicken sandwich was juicy and crispy, my only wish for it to be a bit spicy! Other than that YUM! This was my first time trying beef tartare but WOW, a little scary at first to try but totally scrumptious!!! The mango mixed with it added the perfect sweetness!! The mushroom beignets are to die for, they were soft and pillowy. I was worried about them being heavy and oily but they were light and the sauce was totally delicious!!! I had a lavender drop cocktail to start and it was totally tasty and beautifully botanical without being bitter, a wonderful twist on a classic lemon drop. There was a great beer selection too! Now for the meh part of the review, -1 star -I was super excited to try the dill chips and ordered them as a side with my chicken sandwich, they were pretty bland with no dill flavor at all. I was hoping for a POW PICKLE but they tasted just like ordinary non salted chips. They were still crispy which was nice but not at all what I was expecting. - this should in theory be taking the whole review to 1 star but the food was good. I got up halfway through our meal to pop over to the bathroom, after waiting for it to open up the host (long blonde haired man) walked out... the toilet seat was left open with a bowl full of pee... it didn't seem as if he had washed his hands and carelessly left the bathroom a mess. Not a great look for a customer to walk into the bathroom after an employee and be greeted with seat up and full. YUCK! if it's yellow it is not mellow, PLEASE FLUSH! And with coming out of a global pandemic, hygiene is key! Wash yo hand! Overall - 4.5/5 for our waitress 4/5 for food 5/5 for drinks 0/5 for bathroom

Yelp
Really enjoyed this night in Salt Lake City with friends. This place is off the beaten path and frankly doesn't look like much from the front. But once inside, the food and the drinks are creative and delicious. Service was attentive. And if you're a fan of Bluey, you can get a pavlova!

Yelp
Had drinks and apps last night after an event with some friends. The food was fantastic! Everything I tried I wanted more of. Highly recommend the tartar and the mushroom beignets and the ribs. Service was spot on. Very attentive, great drinks, always had water full. Really cool bar too. Great music. Overall would recommend.

Yelp
We stopped here later at night after a concert and it was a perfect ending to the night. They only had two of their four desserts available but I'm actually glad because they were the two desserts we weren't going to get. I had no clue what respado was nor how it would work with bacon ice cream and maple bourbon syrup but Ho-ly cow. One of the best most interesting dishes I've ever had. Ever. I couldn't stop eating it! The server you could tell took his job seriously and loved the food he was serving. Good cocktails too for my hubby and mocktails available for me had I wanted one (not all restaurants have that). Both desserts had the pecans that were my favorite part. I'm so glad they were open late so we could delight in some of the best unique desserts I've had. I'm just disappointed I didn't get a picture to show them off to you.
