I've been told for years to try the donuts here as well as the Cider marinated hot dogs and their roasted corn. So, I took a drive. It's a beautiful mill. Beautiful scenery. I went on a Tuesday morning. Parking was plentiful. The donut was small, with a bit of crunch. It's ok. They don't do cinnamon sugar just plain. Though you can buy a packet to shake on. Got a small glass of cider that was yummy. The hot dog was $8 and nothing special. Wasn't worth it. And unfortunately they only have the corn on the weekend. If you're in the area why not stop and walk around. It's a pretty area and they do have carmel apples, spiced nuts, and other treats to try. They also sell honey and apples and such at an outdoor market in the tent.

The Franklin Cider Mill is a wonderful experience for a date or a family outing. I loved that the mill was open to see the history of the area and to see where the apples are pressed. The donuts and cider available for purchase are AMAZING! The jazz music and the environment was so welcoming. What an amazing day! 💚

Google
Omg! I enjoyed it. Moved from the area 12+ years ago and I certainly don't remember it being a multi-complex destination. Now they have several little huts selling things. Be sure to take your credit cards or drop by the ATM, not cheap, but certainly fun. Doesn't take long to tour, but on a beautiful Fall day it's simply fun. Would highly recommend.

Google
Recommend! Loved it! Hot fresh donuts, fresh apple cider, great vendors and items. Visited on the weekend and it was very busy but parking was manageable and cars moved in and out good. Indoor and outdoor ordering stations for cider and donuts items. Tents set up with different items and vendors as well as a pleasant band performance. Viewing area indoor of their cider being made as well as the old wheel that powered the mill. Service was very friendly and helpful, ended up leaving trying almost everything or going home with most it all. Recommend a visit!

First time visiting. Didn't wait till I got home Have two hot steaming donuts before and I must say that they were delicious, The texture was a little off But you could smell the apple the cinnamon before it even made it to your mouth. The fresh side or was delicious hot or cold I have to say I'll go back for the preserves but not the apple pie.

Google
Nice small cider mill that has such a nostalgic feel. They sell cider, pies, donuts, bread, pumpkins, hot dogs, roasted corn and more!! Great cider mill to bring the kids. A small stream where you can feed the ducks, sit and sip cider and eat donuts!! Be careful of the pesty yellow jackets!!

Went to Franklin Cider Mill and it is fantastic! Been coming here for a great many years and it never disappoints! Thanks to all of the terrific people working at Franklin Cider Mill! I'll be back soon!

Yelp
My favorite cider mill in the area is Franklin Cider Mill!! For one, everyone who works here is so genuine and sweet, making it a lovely experience. Secondly, the assortment is always fun to go browse and try new apple-infused things. I love to stop here for a hot cider and donuts before or after any event... fall only comes once a year so I try to make the most of it! Only 4/5 because the donuts aren't very good when you buy them and I feel like that affects my experience. Although with the donut sprinkled and heating them back up, they're a lot better, especially when dipped in warm cider. It's worth mentioning that there is a river with lots of ducks which creates a peaceful and entertaining ambiance. Therefore, coming here can be a quick or more drawn-out activity depending on what you're in the mood for. They even have music sometimes! Must try in Michigan!

Yelp
I've been going here since I was a teenager..a few decades. It has evolved a lot from what I remember. It's really nice to see all the outside seating and outside store that is available now. There is a decent size parking lot. I went on a Thursday around 4, and there were small lines outside and no lines inside. We went inside and ordered the hot cider and two donuts. The hot cider was really good and was close to $6 for about a 12oz cup. I thought the price was high but was really in the mood for some hot cider. We usually get a dozen donuts and they are really fresh, hot, and delicious. This day, we only ordered the two, so they came to close to $2 a piece. They were fairly small and were room temperature. They still had a really nice flavor to them. I would def. go back but would probably ask from the donuts to be fresh next time.

Hasan I.

Yelp
TLDR : Always clean, ample parking and great customer service! A Bloomfield Hills Staple! The donuts are always fresh and if you're like me, you'll dip them in your warm cider for the perfect bite of all flavors! The indoors // outdoors are something to be marveled at. The line wraps around this cute area that shows how the cider is made while you're waiting. I love to follow a single apple through it's whole journey to see the final product - yes I know it's nerdy. Overall, Franklin Cider Mill brings back old timey memories of traditional family hang outs that are lasting memories. I can't wait to come back with my kids and have them experience a piece of my childhood. Luna (our goldendoodle) also approves of these donuts!

Ericka B.

Yelp
it's cider mill season in michigan!! Franklin seemed like a great close place to try. I like how dog friendly the place is. There were tons of leashed dogs out. The tents had a plethora of items to buy outside of cider. Most being pretty good. The cons.... The donuts are horrible. Chewy, only offered in plain and just not good even warm. The other mills have them beat hands down there. The cider seemed a little watery compared to other mills we visited this season. There are not any activities for kids outside of feeding ducks. if you just want a nice afternoon out with your dog, this is your place.

Rachel T.

Yelp
So glad this core memory from my childhood still stands! Still smalls the same, same crisp air ambiance and beautiful bridges over the ducks swimming in the creek. From the big red wheel to the taste of the donuts and cider. Made my heart happy to share this place with my son and my sister.

Matt T.

Yelp
I love being in the Northern Part of the US, where there are so many great cider mills and orchards! Since I tend to go to Michigan & Detroit often, a friend of mine told me that I have to check this place out. And I'm glad he did! Now, I will say the parking is tricky. I got there about 10am on a weekday, but I can imagine on Saturdays, that it's hard to snag a spot. Now, unlike a lot of orchards, they only have cider and some baked goods, and that's fine with me! The cider was amazing! And I love the donuts, because they weren't caked in cinnamon sugar or icing like a lot of cider donuts tend to be. This was definitely a great stop. I think it's only open from Labor Day through the Fall though, so keep that in mind. But I highly recommend it if you're in the Detroit area!

Leslie C.

Yelp
My favorite cider mill! I've come here my entire life. I remember coming here in elementary school on a field trip to watch the cider making process. The donuts are perfection and the cider is delicious. These are my favorite donuts. I enjoy walking around and looking at all of the delicious goodies for sale: jams, honey, meats, cheeses, apples and more. The apples are phenomenal. I can't buy apples in the grocery store because they can't compare. My favorite is the honey crisp. So crispy and sweet! I went today and it was a lovely day and very busy. It gets crowded on the weekends but the lines move quickly and everything is well organized. There is a parking lot too, which helps.

Lynn H.

Yelp
Great cider, great donuts, great fun! We love visiting Franklin Cider Mill. Although it's always crowded, lines are fast and folks are friendly.

Alice T.

Yelp
First time visiting a cider mill and I'm glad we chose Franklin. You can watch the apple pressing process and see the huge water wheel. There's also a seating area outside with tables right by the river where you can watch the ducks dip in and out of the water. Choosing what to buy was tough but we ended up with a caramel apple, hot apple cider, apple cider slushy, and apple cider donuts. We originally ordered two donuts but because the cashier was struggling to input our orders correctly, she felt bad that she took up our time so she gave us four donuts on the house. It was really kind of her to do that when she didn't have to. We wasted no time and inhaled the apple cider donuts quick. They're enjoyable and light. Great dipped in hot apple cider on a cold morning. We had the caramel apple as a treat the next day and it was really delicious. The apple was crisp and sweet and it paired so well with the caramel and nuts. If I'm ever in Detroit again in the fall, I would definitely come back to Franklin's for their yummy apple treats.

Richard U.

Yelp
So many childhood memories of this place! Still going strong after all these years! Still the best cider donuts in my opinion! They have streamlined the process do get your hot and fresh donuts, walk up counter outside and an indoor walk up counter with multiple lines to expedite the process and easy to add on fresh pressed apple cider. If honey crisp cider is available get this as these batches have a unique clean flavor that I like better than the standard cider ( which is still delicious). The place is still common for school age kids field trips like when I was a kid!

Melinda E.

Yelp
This was a great experience! I was visiting from Vegas (originally from CA) we don't have many places like this. It was so welcoming and the food(doughnuts) were delish. I never had fresh cider and had no idea there were so many different apples. It was definitely a family vibe , which was nice. I can't wait to bring my mother here when I come back for a visit.

Jacqueline S.

Yelp
This is the place my hubby came as a youngster and it was so much fun! We LOVE the Crimson Crisp apples!! The best, thanks to the lady at the Apple stand for suggesting them & giving us a sample! We bought a bagful! We bought jam too, lots of choices of every kind of apple food-jam-jelly-syrup! HINT!! The first parking lot you find is small, just past it, down the hill there is a HUGE parking lot! We had fun here, lots to enjoy, eat and places to hang out with friends... even on a wet sprinkling day. Open until Thanksgiving... more or less... call to check!

Shelby A.

Yelp
This cider mill is such a classic for me! I went here as a kid, and love taking my toddler here. While there aren't many activities for kids, this spot is perfect for a quick stop that isn't too overwhelming for the little one. It's nice and calm during the week usually, but can get crazy packed on the weekends! Be prepared for bees, as it is a cider mill. Cider is outstanding, and the cider slush is a great warm fall day treat! The donuts are only good for the first day, so don't buy in bulk. They sure are tasty when they're fresh!

Philip A.

Yelp
Worst cider mill in Michigan. Asked if they had cinnamon sugar donuts instead of plain, they said yes. Then gave us a bag of plain donuts and charged us for a ziploc bag of sugar. The entrance to the parking lot is in a really awkward spot that creates congestion at the intersection during busy times. Is there even an apple tree on the property? Walking across the bridge over the creek is nice, but it can be complicated by a bunch of pretentious Bloomfield residents posing for "likes" up and down the banks

Aileen B.

Yelp
We hadn't been to Franklin Cider Mill in over 15 years or more and I'm glad we returned for the sake of nostalgia. It was much smaller than I remembered, which wasn't a big deal because it was cold and snowy and wasn't busy. I like that the cider press is right inside the front door, though was a little bummed that it wasn't operating when we were there. Again, not a big deal, but it is fascinating to watch the process. They had loaves of apple cake bread that looked delectable, but there were no prices and with the outlandish price of cider and doughnuts I didn't even want to ask. We made our way to the counter quickly because it's not heated inside and was uncomfortably cold. After purchasing a half gallon of cider and a dozen doughnuts, I couldn't wait to get to the car and dive into the doughnuts. They were still warm!!! We poured a couple cups of cider and I took a bite of the doughnut. The texture was amazing because it was warm and ever so slightly crisp on the outside. Unfortunately, it was really, really oily and very bland. You could squeeze oil out of the doughnuts. Epic disappointment. The cider was decent, but nothing to write home about. For the price neither was worth it. For $5 more we could have bought honeycrisp cider. No thank you for that price difference. We threw half of the doughnuts away, which we do not do at my house. Ever. Well, except these doughnuts. :0 So it was a nice visit for a trip down memory lane, and I'm glad we went, but I'm happy we live closer to a few other cider mills. Perhaps I should suggest you skip the doughnuts and get the apple cake bread instead!

Malisa R.

Yelp
Well hello, yummy cider and hot, hot, hot donuts! It's officially not fall until until you have cider and donuts. This was my first time having hot donuts... oh man... those are good! My all time favorite donuts have always been plain cake donuts. Who knew Michigan has a season dedicated to donuts?! The donuts are amazing... plain donuts made from spiced apple batter... and they are hot! We got 1/2 a dozen and 1/2 gallon of cider. There are two options - regular and honey crisp cider. For my first time at this cider mill, we went with the original cider. No complaints! We got 2 cups to enough a nice brisk evening with hot donuts and cider. This is a great location since everything is outside. If it's too cold, your car is a great place too! My Cali blood said let's enjoy our hot donuts in the car. Can't wait to go back next season.

Yelp
I've been to a lot of cider mills this autumn and Franklin's was the most forgettable with the most overpriced and least tasty items. I appreciated that all the workers wore masks and there were four lines that moved fairly quickly. Customers were also masked up and cooperative. Now, for the most important part. The cider itself was much too sweet and expensive for my taste. I ordered a cup of hot cider and an apple cider slushie. The slushie is $4 and it was served in a small Solo cup that was an absolute rip off. I was shocked that they would serve something like this and not be embarrassed. Both the slushie and the hot cider tasted artificially flavored with way too much sugar added. I could barely finish it. I did not buy any of the donuts. They also sell Franklin Cider Mill made honey cake, zucchini bread, and apple pies made by Blazo's Pie Shoppe. Franklin is a beautiful upscale town that I enjoyed driving through to admire the fall colors, but I would not return to this cider mill. A cider mill in western Oakland County I recommend is Parmenter's Northville Cider Mill. That cider mill is only doing drive-thru during COVID, but the car lines move quickly and you can get a slushie there for $5 that is not as sweet and more than twice as large as what is served at Franklin Cider Mill. Two other cider mills in northwest Oakland County I recommend are Diehl's Orchard in Holly and Parshallville Cider Mill in Fenton.

Yelp
Shout out to all their pandemic precautions! Online ordering makes visiting a snap. We placed our order for a half gallon of the honeycrisp cider and a dozen donuts so when we arrived it was easy to just pick up our treats with very little contact. We prepaid too so we didn't have to fuss with that part. Everyone was masked and though they limited the seating this year it's all safely spaced out. We took ours to go to enjoy at home but it was still lovely to visit the grounds and made this autumn feel a little more normal!

Yelp
I had a wonderful time today visiting an cider mill for the first time ever in my life. The mill is located in Franklin. And it was such a unique experience, very different from other experiences I've had in the SF Bay Area such as cherry picking, etc. At the cider mill, we got to see the entire process from prepping the milled apples, pressing them, to bottling the fresh cider. After that we got to taste literally freshly pressed cider. And I never knew that fresh cider went super well with cinnamon cake donuts (they call them cider donuts here). Honestly I initially thought it was an unusual pairing: donuts and cider, but it totally worked - I even dunked my donut into my ice-cold cider :) I think the cinnamon in the donut is what helps pair the donuts well with the cider. At the cider mill they also sold a bunch of goodies to take home such as jams, maple syrup, apple butter, and lots of baked goodies, and they even sold cider-marinated dogs, which we tried as well. We ended up enjoying our foods in our car because the bees were everywhere, lol. They were really persistent and relentlessly going for the cider. It's a definite must if you're in the area and have never visited a cider mill ever.

Li S.

Yelp
I appreciate all the things that they are doing in light of Covid-19: * Masks required everywhere * employees wearing masks and gloves * social distancing enforced * 4 roped-off lines for ordering at the window * employees encouraging people to keep moving and not linger * I'm not sure if they are taking cash right now, but they were accepting plastic I grabbed an Apple cider slushy, a gallon of cider, and a few dozen donuts for the fam. The lines looked long, but they do a really good job of keeping things moving. They are accepting plastic now, making everything that much quicker. There are employees throughout to keep people from mingling and gathering in groups. They do still have some tables out and some benches, but it seems like they've spaced things out to keep people distanced. As usual, dogs are welcome. So many cute 4-legged friends everywhere! Great job Franklin Cider Mill. Thanks for all that you are doing!

Elizabeth K.

Yelp
Overpriced but the best donuts around! Nice walk along trails in the Fall and fun to watch how apple cider is made. Beautiful surrounding area.

Lucy R.

Yelp
Is this place a joke? I am shocked by all of the positive reviews. My experience was laughable from the start, little children near a rocky creek in cold weather, getting close enough to fall in. Run down, confusing, turd brown building with no access to a decent bathroom. Porta potty life here! Once you get inside you will be instantly insulted by the insane markups of every single item. Idk anyone, wealthy or not, who wouldn't find paying $8 for a hot dog or $12 for mustard to be absolutely ridiculous. Like I'm at some type of sporting event at Ford Field lol. The business does not care about its customers, it's main concern are high profits. And yes I understand it's seasonal, blah blah blah, as a Michigander I can name at least 3 cider mills with safe, fun activities for children, bathrooms and FAIR prices. This place totally sucks.

Amanda L.

Yelp
Fall isn't fall until I make a visit to Franklin Cider Mill! With the pandemic this year, a visit to Franklin looks a bit different, but they made it pretty seamless! You can order ahead of the time - right here through Yelp - and park in special, designated spots for order pickup - so you're basically in and out in the span of a minute! We did take an extra minute to walk around the grounds a little bit, but it was filled with a bit too many people for our comfort level, so we turned around and happily departed with our cider & our donuts in hand. If you want things other than cider & donuts, I don't believe they were available for order ahead, so you'd have to park in the general parking lot and stand in line with the mass of people. But the lines are very organized and everyone was masked up (on a Saturday afternoon!) & social distancing, so if you're comfortable with that, that is definitely a feasible option!

Lacey G.

Yelp
Had an amazing day with the Family at the Franklin Cider Mill in Bloomfield Hills, Mi! Yummy fresh donuts, choice of regular or 'cider hotdogs". ... Apples, and roasted corn on the cob. The hot cider was very good! My Sister got the "gluten-free" donuts and loved them said they were light and crisp and they come with the sugar. I got the Apple pie and Gallon of of cider.....of course lol. They don't put "sugar" on the fresh donuts but you must buy a $2 packet if you want that option. I don't like sugar on my donuts, so it was great for me ! My kids LOVED the roasted corn and the grilled hot dogs both plain and "cider-dogs" were great! This is a smaller logistical area cider mill which is great for older people or those who can't walk very far. My Dad who can't walk far had an awesome time!! FALL FAMILY FUN!!! It a new favorite!

Saphace A.

Yelp
This is a pretty cool cider mill to check out! It's free. It's not open all year round, but lots of people come just to get jugs of cider and donuts. We parked in a dirt lot, which I can imagine fills up quickly on much better weather days of the year. There's a cute little creek you can walk over through a bridge. Lots of ducks hang out here. Cute! You can see a wheel going round and a round. Inside, you can watch them press the apples in order to get the juice. We bought some hot cider and cider donuts. Yum! Tasty! The donuts were warm and light.

Jerome A.

Yelp
This was the first cider mill I ever remember going to as a kid, and it's still one of the best in Michigan to this date. Their apple cider is elite while the fresh fried donuts are still the best plain non-sugar covered ones available in this area. Gotta eat them right then and there for the full fresh and tasty experience! *Pro tip; bring your old stale bread to feed the ducks! *Pro tip; Air-fry any leftover donuts for the as-close-to-fresh flavor!

Meghan K.

Yelp
I like this place, but what happened to the cinnamon sugar donuts? What a huge bummer.

Robert P.

Yelp
This place is a Michigan classic and a must every Fall season!!! You roll in and grab a spot in the free parking lot and make your way to the entryway. At the entryway there is a beautiful and enchanting flowing river with various colored rocks on the bottom sand if your lucky you'll even get to see some ducks chilling out. There are benches strewn here for you to sit on and enjoy the scenery for a bit before or after you satisfy your cider mill craving. You walk over a wooden bridge to the rest of the cider mill and make the choice to check out either the water wheel, apples and apple products, donuts and cider or hit up the snack bar. On this trip I decided to hit up the donuts and cider first. It's all the way in the back and usually will have a long line but no worries the line moves quickly. I was just quickly stopping in for an afternoon treat with a friend today so we kept it simple and ordered 2 donuts @ $1.25 each and a small jug of apple cider for $5. After sitting on a bench and enjoying our treats we went to check out the historic water wheel and history of the cider mill which was a cool way to cap off our trip at the mill today.

Yelp
Franklin Cider Mill is the fall season in a nutshell for me. I mean I'd eat their cinnamon spice doughnuts ANY DAY but it was particularly perfect on this fall day. It was pretty easy to find via GPS & the parking lot is clearly marked as the Franklin Cider Mill parking lot. You have to walk up & to the left for the doughnuts/cider, but don't pass up the little stands, the water wheel! The Honeycrisp apples at the stands seemed pretty expensive at $2/apple (for context: $1.69 down the street at Trader Joe's for an organic one. Conventional was even cheaper.) Once we entered the building for the doughnuts and cider, the line was long but it moved. All the baked goods (like the apple cheesecake and apple pull-apart bread) lined up along the line were super tempting. I'm definitely coming back for these next time! Once you get up to one of the 5 cashier stands, there's a small menu that lists out the doughnuts & cider.12 oz hot cider ($4) and 1/2 dozen doughnuts ($6) came out to be $10. CASH ONLY BY THE WAY! Honestly, I thought that was pretty pricey. The cold cider price point is a bit lower - I believe $4 gets you a pint or something, but damn their margins must be pretty good here. Either way, it's worth it! The doughnuts are a dream - there's no frosting, no fancy frills, just a plain ol' delicious old world German recipe. I practically inhaled them - they were fluffy, warm with just the right amount of spice. I usually prefer old fashioned cake doughnuts but I could eat these all day. We had the remaining doughnuts later in the evening -- quick 10 seconds in the microwave it was just as good! The hot cider was a perfect complement to the cinnamon spice doughnuts - not too sweet & not too much spice either. Charming places like Franklin Cider Mill make me appreciate MI more and more. 269/365

Yelp
We had a great time here. I've been coming to Franklin since I was a baby. It's a classic cider mill. They have all of the great traditional elements. They have hot donuts, apple pies and treats, honey products, sausage and cheeses, fudge, and much, much more. We love the big water wheel that churns, a must take photo op spot. The little creek is adorable. They have little nooks where you can buy candied nuts, hot dogs, or get your face painted. The crowd was lively and festive when we were there. If the line is too long inside the main building, you can purchase cider and donuts outside, or on the side of the building. We got the cider slush, it was very sweet and tasty. The lines tend to get long but move fast. The prices are okay, a bit pricey, and they only offer one type of traditional cider donuts. They are great hot, a little greasy. The parking can also be a challenge, but no fall is complete without the Franklin cider mill!

Cristina B.

Yelp
I'm really not sure the hype surrounding this place. Nostalgia, maybe? My boyfriend and I had an hour to kill before dinner and I was craving donuts. I remembered this was close by to where we were so we gave it a shot. My first impression was that Franklin was a rather small cider mill. I'm not one of those people who needs apple picking, pumpkin patches, or carnival activities to make me happy. I come to cider mills to enjoy a nice cold cup of cider and devour some delicious donuts. Even then, I felt very claustrophobic during my stay. There is a small opening to a river and some benches and a bridge, but that's about it. People just standing around everywhere, so social distancing. There was a very kind and wonderful lady working to help mandate masks and to let us know which line to use to purchase cider and donuts but that's about it. The donuts and cider were a bit mediocre if you ask me. The donuts came out hot and fresh, but they didn't wow me. They are plain donuts with a cinnamon spice. That's the only option for donuts here. Will I eat the whole dozen I bought? Absolutely. They just weren't my favorite. The cider was kinda tasteless? Very happy we only bought a pint. One thing I really loved here was the online order pickup area. It made things really easy, from what I saw! Plus you get to avoid their disastrous parking lot. Win!

Mel N.

Yelp
Came on a weekday night right before closing. No line, but still a good number of people. Yes there's nothing here but cider and donuts. There was ok amount of seating. Ran out of apple cheesecake (9 inch for $17 and 6 inch for $9.) I found out later that they're made by Blazo Pie, so maybe didn't miss much. Got one plain donut ($1.25). It was ok... not the best and it was small. Heard this place is very packed on the weekends. Give it a try. People really like this place...

Tim L.

Yelp
Fun inexpensive quick trip to an authentic Cider Mill which existed five years before Michigan ever received its statehood. Excellent apple cider and warm fried pumpkin Donuts 10 out of 10

Marva H.

Yelp
The cider here was amazing especially when coupled with their cider donuts! This was the perfect place to stop by to warm your insides up with amazing, yummy deliciousness! You pretty much know what you're getting when you come here. No surprises and perfection each and every time!

Maggie H.

Yelp
Small and cute cider mill with great donuts and cider! There's a small river with ducks to sit and enjoy

Christian M.

Yelp
This place has become somewhat of a tradition stop for me annually, although it's not spectacular in any way. The donuts are horrid but the cider is good. If you pair the donuts with the cider immediately after each bite they're much more palatable. There's always a lot of bees trying to drink your cider and White people feeding the ducks. The scenery is nice and it's probably a good place for kids. One suggestion to management would be upgrading the bags from regular brown school-lunch-bags to coated bags to keep the excessive amounts of grease in the donuts from seeping through the bag and making a mess.

Dana C.

Yelp
A wonderful fall pleasure! The donuts and cider are the best, I highly recommend this local treat!!

Scott S.

Yelp
Franklin Cider Mill has amazing cider and doughnuts, plus all the other awesome baked goods you can shop for. It's a family tradition to stop every Fall and get a fresh batch. S

Nicole E.

Yelp
Always on the hunt for the best cider and cider mill donuts. This place is one that is usually packed and as per usual the Saturday afternoon I went it was packed as always. Lot was practically full. The cider was good and the donuts too. It's a fun place to hang out with friends and family and is often buzzing.

Lisa F.

Yelp
This cider mill has always been my favorite! The donuts are hot, the cider slushies are amazing. Apple cider is sold nice and chilled for sitting out by the stream feeding the ducks. We even sampled meats & cheeses that were to die for! Need apples, a cutting board, or even roasted corn or nuts? Hurry to Franklin!

Yelp
I really wanted to go to a cider mill before Halloween but was hesitant because of the crowds. I decided to check out Franklin based on the Yelp reviews. They are taking all precautions-staff masked, requiring masks in certain areas, encouraging distancing, hand sanitizer... I got a few donuts that were good, but didn't live up to the hype. To me, they didn't have a lot of flavor. Apple cider was delicious. The stand with Michigan made syrup and cheeses was cute and I bought a few things. The bourbon syrup was delicious. Kids enjoyed feeding the ducks and the water wheel. Service was great and staff were very friendly.

Yelp
Franklin Cider Mill was a new place for us and since it was Labor Day weekend, we thought why not venture to this side of town to check it out. The place was hopping which was nice to see so many people and families out enjoying the beautiful weather. For first timers, it was a bit overwhelming (in a good way) to take it all in. But after walking around and seeing all they had to offer, it was time to purchase a few things and take in more of the scenery. I must admit, they had plenty of help and everything was running like a well oiled machine. They do know how to handle large crowds which was impressive. I can see why it's a popular destination for so many people. I liked the old fashioned water wheel, cider bottlers and the original governor that controlled the speed of the old water wheel. All were on display and added an interesting touch to our visit. In all honesty though, there were a few drawbacks that didn't sit well with us. They don't accept credit cards. Yes, cash only. We don't walk around with a lot of cash in our pockets since pretty much everywhere you go, including the cider mill we usually go to on our side of town, they all accept credit cards. We picked up a jar of preserves, a bag of apples and some sparkling cider and went to pay. We both stood at the register scrambling around in our pockets for every bill and loose change we could find when she told us cash only, which was quite embarrassing. We were hungry walking around and seeing everyone eating their lunch, donuts and cider. We were going to order a couple of hot dogs and cider slushes, but after adding up how much it would be, we decided against it. For two hot dogs and two slushes, we were looking at paying about $20! No way were we going to pay that much when we could get so much more food for our money at many other places. This last thing isn't a big deal, but when we go to the cider mill every year, we always get the variety of donuts which is cinnamon sugar, powdered sugar and plain. Some people I know are happy with plain donuts, but we like to have a few flavors of the warm fresh donuts. I was surprised when we placed our order that they only had plain. Hmmm.... not what I wanted to hear after experiencing the cash only and high priced hot dogs. So after a so-so experience, we learned that the grass isn't always greener and we will go to our preferred cider mill on this side of town, where we get more for our money and they accept more than just cash..... and they have better donuts.

Yelp
I've only been going to the Franklin Cider Mill for a few years, but I now make sure to stop every fall. The parking lot is always super busy, so I park a little down the road at the park. It's a nice short walk. Even though I'm actually not a huge fan of cider in general, visiting the cider mill is still a lot of fun. My favorite part is actually the donuts and roasted corn. Overall this is a great way to spend a weekend afternoon.

Yelp
Nice cider mill with a good selection of products. They just don't have the sugar coated donuts (only plane) so be prepared if they are something you crave. The cider was very good, they also have pies, breads, fudge, candies, scones and I think they were serving hotdogs as well. Nice area to sit by a stream and watch the ducks swim while sharing some cider and donuts. I didn't see any outdoor rides or activities but they did have an outdoor tent set up with a variety of food selections.

Yelp
I have always enjoyed this cider mill but this year, unfortunately, the experience wasn't pleasant. The cider and donuts are 25% overpriced. I'm not sure if the corn people are Franklin or just squatters on the parking lot, but they went from $3 and ear to $5 an ear and the corn was mushy and cool. The salt, Parmesan and other condiments were damp from being out all day and I got a little queasy after eating 1/2 an ear. I would not recommend the corn trailer unless they run it more sanitary and you don't mind a 5 dollar ear of corn.

Yelp
Unfortunately they are closed for the season. I didn't find this out until after I checked the hours on yelp and google and drove all the way up there from Dearborn. Who is responsible for verifying the hours that a business is open? This is the second time this has happened to me this week. A waste of my time and gas.

Yelp
Go to Franklins cider mill and order a Dutch apple pie - they bag it - get it home and find out it's a Blazo's pie - if I wanted one from Blazos I would have gone there - I thought I was getting a fresh baked pie from Franklins. The donuts were good and warm

Yelp
Fresh warm donuts, great apple cider! Loved my experience here! We ordered online through Yelp and got to park in a special lot to pick up our online order. Everything was outdoors and felt covid safe!

Yelp
Having read about Franklin Cider Mill, I was pretty excited to check it out. Came here on a lovely, snowy and cold Sunday afternoon. There was a ton of parking and zero line (yipee!). We walked around the cute little stalls with tons of red and green apples. They have a lot of speciality items: apple butters, breads, cinnamon almonds, cheese, pies, honey, the delicious list goes on and on...We picked a couple apples la carte style (honeycrisp ftw) and paid before going inside. Inside, it was nice and warm. We watched the process of extracting the juice from apples for a while then perused the freshly baked snacks. We decided on hot ciders and donuts. Although, don't get me wrong, I wanted all of it. The donuts are served nice and hot with a slightly crunchy exterior, and a fluffy and subtly sweet inside. I appreciate that they didn't have extra sugar or weren't dipped in icing. I love how plain they are. The first bite will have you hooked. I almost went back in for a dozen more. A dozen hundred. Next time (they also have gluten-free ones if you're interested)! The cider was piping hot and equally delicious. It's pretty amazing. We got some to go. It's cash only, so come prepared. Especially if you're like me and want a dozen hundred donuts and gallons of cider. I can't wait to come back!

Yelp
The cider is pretty sweet here and the parking lot is very busy this time of year. They have opened up online orders parking section which is nice. I wish the full menu was available for online to go orders.
