2020’s Saddest NYC Restaurant Closures | Eater NY

"Hearing about its closure this month was pretty awful; Franklin Park, like the others, occupies a personal place in my dining memory and in the story of the city’s restaurants." - Eater Staff

Coronavirus in NYC and Restaurants: Mayor Says Half-Capacity Enforcement Starts Sunday | Eater NY

"I saw that Franklin Park became the focus of scrutiny after a viral photo suggested the bar was not operating at half capacity; owner Matthew Roff said they had posted the new mandate, were taking head counts throughout the night, and still could not control where people stood, and he told Eater that “they should have just made a final decision.”" - Serena Dai

Google
This was my first time using metra and this station is quick and easy. I was staying at a nearby hotel because it was way cheaper than staying in the city and catching a quick Uber ride and then metra into the city was way cheaper than taking Uber all the way. Ticketing is very easy and it's easy to pull up exact train times. Then when you get dropped off here, signage is good and the train was on time.

Y'all need to figure out the train schedule. It shouldn't take a half hour to get across the tracks.

It’s a really nice station to Railfan Metra and many other Trains!

They didint stop at my stop and I have to walk 2 miles

Google
Good luck if you have to access this station from across the south side of the tracks. The freight train traffic makes it hit or miss. Oh, and the train is always late.. by always i mean 97% of the time, obv.

Google
No way to get across when a freight train is parked on the other side for an hour. Good thing Metra trains only come every 2 hours on Sunday. So lame.

Google
Will not let you park overnight, very inconvenient if you work midnight shift. Cars in parking lots don't bother anyone

Yelp
I really like this Metra station and not for any Metra travel because every year Franklin Park has Railroad days and the station and area turns into a festival. There is a carnival, massive sound stage, beer tent, train displays, swap meet, food vendors, model railroad layout and miniature train rides. The station fills with rail fans of all ages to watch the trains with all real life rail operations cutting right through the festival. The fest last about a week but on one Saturday there is a line up of real trains/cars that you can walk on and walk through. Metra always a locomotive on display that the adults and children can walk through and sit at the controls for pictures. Metra and the village really put on a nice festival for a great family outing which is usually in early June. I will also stop by when the festival is not going on when in the area to do some Rail fanning because it is the lead into the big rail yard with lots of action.

Yelp
The Metra is great in Chicago. I needed to get to a hotel close to O'Hare everyday one week for a conference and was staying downtown. It may seem that I should have simply stayed at the hotel at O'Hare, but blah, there is nothing to do out there. I'd much rather be in the city. Anyway, back to the story, I used the Metra to get to the conference. It is easy and smooth. I could relax, work, read or better yet, Yelp! while on the train. I have been told that you are allowed to bring alcohol on the train and drink while riding... I don't know if you are 'allowed' or nobody cares to care if you drink on the train. If anyone has an official ruling on this, please let me know...

Yelp
The Metra is fabulous. It has issues like any other mode of transport. However, it is affordable, you can read on your journey and you can get almost anywhere. Take cash, no cards. Listen to the announcements and make sure you leave yourself enough time.

Yelp
Mecanical delays, switch problems...almost everyday it is something which makes the train late. Still beats sitting on the expressway I guess.
