The charitable event at 1332 I St NW runs from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., costs $95 for adults and $25 for kids, features a long roster of local restaurants, and includes games for kids and adults." - Adele Chapin

This Upcoming NoVa Ax-Throwing Bar Has a Very Punny Name | Eater DC

"I spotted signage for health-conscious British eatery Leon in Franklin Square at 14th and I streets NW, and noted that the UK chain, which opened its first D.C. location in 2018, is expanding with additional outposts around the city." - Adele Chapin

A beautiful arts themed park. A warm calm inviting spot in the middle of a busy cool political and business oriented city. The water theme in this urban natural spot makes for a neat contrast. The swings suppress the city noise and provide a water feature effect that only you experience. Kids playground is perfect for toddlers and parents to play and relax in.

Incredible Wildlife Sighting in Franklin Park — Juvenile Hawk in the Heart of DC!! If you enjoy birdwatching, nature walks, or wildlife sightings in Washington, DC, Franklin Park delivered a truly unforgettable moment this Friday morning. At 7:10 AM on 11/21, I saw something descending from the sky at full speed, and I stopped just to figure out what was happening. After a few moments of watching and waiting, a juvenile hawk made its arrival — wings wide, expanded, and powerful, gliding in with absolute precision. I was genuinely amazed by what I was seeing. It landed in the park instantly scanning the ground, clearly in full hunt mode. And honestly? It picked the right spot. Franklin Park has plenty of rats scurrying around at that hour and very active squirrels, giving this young hawk more than enough prey options to practice its hunting skills. Seeing a juvenile hawk in a downtown DC park at sunrise was a rare and stunning wildlife moment — a reminder that urban nature is alive and thriving right in the city center. If you’re into urban birding, early-morning wildlife activity, or peaceful nature spots, Franklin Park is absolutely worth a visit. I will keep my eyes peeled for more unexpected encounters.

Frosted at Franklin Park 2025 was a cool event for the whole family. The ice sculpting was entertaining, the hot chocolate was like that, and there were tons of characters and fixtures for photo opportunities. Highly recommended if you're looking for a spirited holiday event in the DC area.

I attended a Meetup social called Art in the Park and brought my painting supplies and easel. The sun was strong on this moderately cold day and the sounds of the water fountain were soothing. A picture perfect day for creating with new friends. While I miss the large trees and ancient architecture of the old park, I do enjoy its pristine pathways and more raised land. The old park seemed to dip a little deeper and was more of a climb to get back to street level. There's a designated area for kids to enjoy and a state of the art restrooms. I always enjoy the free music festivals in the summer and partaking in the Art in the Park in the fall was a spectacular time.

Peaceful and relaxing environment. Perfect for picnic or evening walk. There is also music bands sometime and it’s close to the metro station.

Strolling through Franklin Park on my way from the metro to Planet Word was a nice alternative to sidewalks. Well kept and pleasant. There are lots of benches and a small play area. This isn’t a big park but it will be a nice place for people to gather before and after visiting Planet Word at the Franklin School. Several restaurants with take out in the area and a good size for small groups to find each other make a good meeting point. It was clean, felt safe, and had a pleasant vibe.
