Servers and workers are super nice. Open kitchen so you can see them make the pizzas. The pizzas are cooked super quick and there’s a good number of options to pick from. It’s a 12-inch pizza but while they “recommend” ordering one per person, my partner and I shared one and left very full. We tried the fresh mozzarella Neapolitan pizza and also tried the focaccia with red pesto. The focaccia was cold and a disappointment. I personally didn’t like the pesto either. We left most of it untouched. The pizza itself was good. I wasn’t a fan of the sharp Parmesan grated on top but the ingredients tasted fresh and the crust was crisp and well risen. Parking available and reservations recommended for peak times

Excellent gluten free pizza! You have to book for gf dough at least 24 hr in advance and they cap the number of gluten free pizzas available because of the lengths they go to to prevent cross contamination (scraping the inside of the wood fired stove, cleaning the boards on the bottom, etc). There’s still some risk because it is the same oven, even though no glutenous pizzas are in at the same time as the gluten free pizzas. But my oh my were the pizzas incredible. I haven’t had a pizza from a pizza oven in years and I almost cried with happiness. The Hot Mess was my favorite. So so grateful to the staff for the care they take to help gluten free folks or those with celiac feel included!!!

A perfect 5/5! From the wonderful Service from our waiter Henry to the flavorful food this place was simply amazing. We chose to dine outside because the weather was beautiful. Henry greeted us with a welcome home vibe and was well versed on the all the items on the menu. He gave a great suggestion and even provided samples of the wine for the evening, but the capstone to the drink selection was the homemade sodas! I asked for a Coke to which he replied "we don't have commercial sodas here but we do have homemade, would you like to try?" I had the Lemon Lime which was amazing with real flavors and taste. The pizza was flavor rich and with the crust soft. All the pizzas were individual pies but we were only able to get through half of our food so not a bad idea to share. I would say the pizza is a step above everyday pizzeria but remains familiar to the family easy comfort food we know and love. Will definitely return to this place for a quiet night or small gathering.

We had never been to Frankly Pizza before but enjoyed it a great deal. One might dare say it is a hidden gem, even though it is clearly not a secret given the many people who were there on a Saturday night when we were. Food and service were top notch. We enjoyed authenic Neapolitan pizzas and shared a small starter salad. The server gave notice that we should not be surprised if part of the crust was charred. As fans of Neapolitan, we appreciated the head's up but appreciate this method resulting from a hot pizza oven. Theirs is wood burning. Wine was said to have been from a tap, priced very reasonably by the glass. Desert was offered but that would have been too much. Each pizza is designed to be consumed by one person. Service was attentive and on-point. We will definitely return.

The flavor of the pizza crust was excellent (besides the couple burnt spots). The toppings and sauce didn’t really stand out, not that they were bad, but really nothing special. Service from front of house to back of house was excellent. Everyone was really friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I would love to see a better tap selection here. All they had was a wheat, IPA and brown ale. The flourless chocolate dessert will have us coming back. It was unique and delicious. I would highly recommend it. TIP if you’re hoping to dine inside make a reservation, it’s not very big on the inside, but has a pretty decent outdoor seating area.

Google
Very, very good pizza , and outstanding service. Although there were no available parking spaces on the street, I managed to find parking in the Safeway garage. I highly recommend this restaurant. They have a nice outdoor patio, though it was unfortunately full when I visited. Their specialty sodas are awesome.

Stopped here on a bit of a whim after leaving the nearby Baby Cat Brewery. The place was packed and the only seating available without a reservation was at their 4-person bar seating, overlooking the pizza prep station. We were greeted immediately and got our drink orders taken. We received recommendations from the staff who all genuinely seemed like they enjoyed both working there and their co-workers. Nice draft beer selections from somewhat local breweries plus a decent selection of wines. Started off with a small appetizer of olives and placed and order for two pies - 1) pepperoni add basil & 2) sausage and pesto upon the chefs recommendation. Both came out relatively quickly considering how busy they were but while we waited we watched the dough being prepped and stretched for toppings. The finished dough is crisp underneath but still has a chewy bite to it. Slightly charred in some places from the wood fired over but not overpowering. Pretty close to a traditional Neapolitan style except that the center of the pie wasn’t quite as thin/flimsy as some can be. This was a plus for me. The slice held up when you grabbed it and made it much easier to eat and enjoy. The pepperoni was salty and spicy in the best ways possible. A very solid pie. The sausage and pesto was interesting but lacked a little salt. We shared both pies so the salt from the pepperoni eventually balanced it out. Overall still very enjoyable! This is currently my favorite pizza place within the area and we’ll definitely be back for the food and the neighborhood-y mom and pop atmosphere. Reservations recommended.

Google
Some of the best pizza I've ever had in my life. Brick over Neapolitan pizza cooked with I think live pine fire wood (smells good anyways). Excellent thin, tangy, and crispy dough. Top-notch fresh ingredients and creative toping blends. Service was friendly. Only two down sides The spinach was WAY too salty and a bit too oily (hope they read this) both times I went. Every pizza is great, even the spinach just too salty. Wait time could be pretty long, was about maybe half hour but was Sunday night.

Yelp
The service was awesome! And the food was very good I would even say best in the area. Drinks were very nice. I would recommend reversing a table if you know you wanna go prior to the day.

Yelp
I work near Wheaton and always have heard about this place from people I work with. This is probably one of the best pizza places in the DMV area. My only complaint is the size of the pizzas is small for the price ...but the quality is so good and the flavors are on point. We got the margarita, mushroom, and meatball pizza. I enjoyed each flavor, but my favorite was the mushroom pizza, which is a white pie. The texture of the crust was chewy and soft with some charred/bubbly spots. I crave this pizza from time to time... Its probably time to go back soon.

Yelp
I have only done carry out here but their pizza is always a hit! I think at this point I've had nearly everything on the menu and haven't had one yet that I didn't like! I wish they were a little more liberal with their toppings- I feel like often i get a slice that has half a piece of something on it but that's it. If I'm paying $18 for a personal sized pizza, there better be a piece of that house made bacon on every slice. Their toppings really are delicious, just sparce. Love their crust and I imagine it's even better if you get it AT the restaurant. Frankly is a great addition to Kensington and I like how they keep their menu small- they have something they're good at and just focus on that!

Yelp
We drove right by Frankly Pizza twice without seeing it. But once we walked inside on a Sunday evening, we were shocked by the crowd. A 45 minute wait - reservations would have been a good idea. The restaurant is packed with locals, not too fancy, lots of families, couples, and older folks. Frankly Pizzas are good, with chewy crusts blackened by the oven. Everything is made from scratch. We split the burrata, a perfectly dressed arugula salad, and a sausage and pepper pizza. The burrata was covered with a thin layer of tomato sauce - very pretty, but I would have preferred something with a little acid. Our pizza could have used another minute in the oven, and we found ourselves looking enviously at the pizzas on the next table, all blistered and crusty. We also thought the sauce on our pizza was a bit too sweet. But we are New Yorkers and very picky about our pizza! Frankly Pizzas are great. Limited wines by the glass were fairly priced. In all, a fun, casual neighborhood joint in Kensington.

Yelp
Pizzas are cooked in an oak-fired brick oven and they're delicious. I got the spinach pizza and it was great and cooked well. Pizzas are personal size so one was enough for me. Reservations are recommended even on weekdays due to space, but they do allow walk-ins. They have indoor and outdoor seating. There are only four parking spots in front of the restaurant, with street parking in the surrounding area. They also offer gluten free pizza (advanced notice required). Our server was kind, welcoming and checked on us often.

Yelp
This is a cool, quaint location. The service was great. The place was clean. I love wood fired pizza and it did not disappoint. I got the white garlic pizza. My kid got the pepperoni and seemed to like it. I was a little disappointed they did not have name brand diet soda but they have their own soda. No diet though. I'll bring the rest of the family back. Brought my daughter back. She really enjoyed it. I also got a different pizza (spinach). It was also excellent. Funny...I had the same server and sat at the same table :)

Yelp
I'm sure you've heard this one before. But quite frankly... this pizza is delicious. I know, I know... I'm late to the party. But I literally have a chart in my kitchen that has a pic of pizza from a bunch of local DMV spots. and Frankly is in there, but I had not made it there until today. There are two separate entrances depending on what you want. The left side is carryout orders, and the right side is dine-in. If I had time, I definitely would've dined in, as the space looks nice, but I ordered to go. When you walk in on the carryout side, there are no places to sit, but a long counter where pizza orders are lined up, along with the register and menus, are to your right. And you can see the oven in the back! The two friendly staff welcomed me, knowing it was my first time after asking. And we chatted a bit and I ordered the pepperoni. It was done in about 10 minutes (I think... I stepped out for a bit and it was ready when I got back), I put it in an insulated bag and took it home. I love everything about the pizza. The crust was nice and had charred spots, and the sauce and cheese were good... but that pepperoni gave everything a nice kick. Whew! And while it was like a 12" pie, they only cut it in 4 slices, so they were wide and foldable. Very tasty! I would like to try their arugula salad, white pies, and their desserts in the future. I'll be back!

Craig H.

Yelp
This pizza was out of this world. I wanted to add the caramelized onions on a different pizza and was told it only came on this one specific pizza so i ordered that...and so happy I did. I will forever crave the "Hot Mess" with mozzarella, pickled jalapeño, caramelized onions, house-made bacon, Gruyère, Romano... I told them while we were there...this is the best pizza I've ever had in my entire life. No joke.

Yelp
Simply delicious. First time with my children and they love it the pizza. Staff was very friendly and the pizza come out in a short time

Yelp
I just love this place so much. It's perfect for an easy night out with the kids or a laid back date night. It's small and quiet enough for good conversation. The wait staff is consistently great and they are SO good with toddlers (they have high chairs and kids cups). Most importantly, the pizza is just so delicious. The spinach pie is my favorite! And they have vegan options. Just my favorite neighborhood restaurant.

Jessalyn L.

Yelp
We stopped in here on a Friday night with no reservation and got lucky to have two seats at the bar. I will say the barstools have no backs and the bar leaves no room for your knees so not the most comfortable spot. *tip* Make a reservation!!! Staff seemed busy but the tables didn't seem rushed. I ordered a house made lemon lime soda that was actually really delicious! Husband ordered a beer. Our pizzas took a while to be served. The pizza was good, I think the amount of sausage might have been overkill since the Neapolitan crust didn't stand a chance at holding it up but the crust was perfect. And the sauce had a littttttle bit of a slow burn (along with all the red pepper flakes I added). I tend to be a pizza snob but I would absolutely stop here again if I was heading to the strathmore nearby. I saw the pepperoni pizza and had buyer's envy. The pepperoni had the nice little cups with the char on them. If we had had time I would have ordered dessert which also looked pretty good. Definitely worth a stop!

Yelp
Frankly Pizza has truly won our hearts when it comes to pizza! We recently ordered a whopping 7 pies for just 3 of us for takeout, and we couldn't have been happier with our decision. The standout feature here is undeniably the pizza dough. It's perfectly crafted, achieving that ideal balance of crispy and chewy that pizza aficionados dream about. Among our favorites, the red sauce pizza was a pure delight. The flavors were robust, and the traditional goodness of a classic red sauce shone through beautifully. The Hot Mess pizza was a unique surprise. Its sweet and slightly spicy kick made it a standout, and we loved every bite. With football season upon us, Frankly Pizza is the perfect go-to. Their delectable pies, especially the unique and flavorful ones, make for the ultimate game day treat. However, do note that parking can be a bit challenging, as there are only a couple of spots in front of the restaurant. Given its small size, it's an ideal spot for takeout. Whether you're ordering a feast for a group or just indulging yourself, this place delivers on all fronts. Highly recommended for pizza lovers!

Yelp
Our friends took us to a neighborhood restaurant in Kensington, Maryland. It's located on a quiet street away from busy intersections near Knowles and Connecticut Avenue. Indoor and outdoor seating is available and a separate take-out entrance. Hours vary and it closes pretty early. Coffee and tea are not on the menu. The atmosphere was casual, the service was on the spot. The prices were reasonable and the food was excellent. 5*Burrata Appetizer With a tomato vinaigrette and basil gremolata: light and fresh, very good 4*Arugula Salad with Romano, lemon vinaigrette: plain and simple; fresh and light. 5*SPINACH pizza with fresh garlic, mozzarella, caramelized onions, spinach, salt, Gruyere, Romano, lemon: mixed flavors. I think it's great to add caramelized onions, the mild sweet taste added dimensions to the flavor. 5*MUSHROOM pizza with Mozzarella, crimini mushrooms, shallots, parsley, Gruyere, Romano, porcini salt: great white pizza, not so heavy but tasty. 5*MEATBALL pizza with tomato sauce, mozzarella, house meatballs, and Romano: house meatballs were great, mixed with onions and spices, tender and mild spicy taste. 5*Key Lime Cream Cake With a coconut custard and coconut & graham cracker crust: very good 4.8*Triple Chocolate Flourless Brownie With salted caramel and whipped cream: excellent

Yelp
Phenomenal pizza! Those guys know how to make great pizza. The staff is also really friendly and knowledgeable, absolute pizza and wine fanatics. The place is clean and looks great.

Jenny Mae S.

Yelp
Phenomenal pizza. The thin crust is imparted with flavor from the wood burned in their oven and differentiates their pizzas from others in MoCo and DC. The service was great, perfectly attentive and helpful with recs. We ate inside and were still able to hear each other even with all the tables full. Will continue to visit often.

Gail B.

Yelp
This is a great place to have pizza. I would suggest making a reservation. The restaurant fills up quickly. The choices are simple: pizza. We tried a variety of them. I liked the Margherita. You can order extra sauces but they don't have a way to heat them. I don't get it. You can watch the pizza being made. The oven is in the middle of inside dining. Our server was busy and slightly distracted. The restaurant only has one bathroom. There are only a few parking spaces in front of the restaurant. There is neighborhood parking and a garage across the street.

Michael B.

Yelp
Even though it was a bit out of our way, my friend and I have been hitting just pizza places and Frankly...Pizza came up during a web search with high reviews. They do have an outdoor patio but since it is a cold winter night, they were kind enough to accommodate us inside despite small space and I think most people come through with reservations. The pizzas were fresh and our server was fantastic, explaining briefly about their pizzas and periodically checking up on us. Only thing I wasn't a fan of was their dough/crust: it was more on the doughy/ chewy side, but that's just my preference. I tend to like mine a bit crunchy and perhaps a bit more flavorful. But the folks working here were super friendly and I would love to come back and try some of their specialty pizzas.

Doug B.

Yelp
damn good pizza, great variety. quality ingredient. a treasure in Kensington. Don't miss the classic sodas - they are magnificent!

Vee L.

Yelp
Really good pizza! We got the margherita and the pepperoni, both were delicious. Great tasting sauce and I loved the light and flavorful crust. We got their special salad, spinach and mushroom with garlic caper dressing and it was absolutely delicious. I'll be coming back to try their white pizzas soon! Service was fast and friendly. Inside was full and we didn't have a reservation so we sat outside on the small covered patio, nice and cozy.

Laura H.

Yelp
Random discovery when we had some time to kill in Kensington! The pizza was great, the staff was friendly (we ordered carry-out), and we'll definitely come back to try the sit-down area.

Skylar W.

Yelp
I'll start by saying it's a cute place in Kensington with indoor and outdoor seating and it's really cool you can see the pizza oven. Also, my family really loved their pizzas and I loved the Brussel sprouts salad. It's hard to be dairy free and go to pizza places. However, when I've been to pizza places that offer DF cheese, I've always left satisfied and been pleasantly surprised. This time however, not so much. This cheese was the worst tasting dairy free cheese I've ever had. The crust/dough was incredible, and my parents and brother absolutely loved their pizzas (mushroom w/ meatball, spinach, pesto) so I can't knock the pizzas themselves. However, I encourage Frankly Pizza to try to utilize a different DF cheese. Our waitress told us they use the Follow Your Heart mozzarella, so at least I know which cheese to never buy from the grocery store.

Carol G.

Yelp
Great fresh toppings, nice crispy crusts with just the right level of char, good service!

Anye S.

Yelp
Frankly... Pizza is a smallish, cute place in the old town section of Kensington. I'd heard you need a reservation to go so it took awhile to get around to it. All in all, I recommend it. They have very good quality pizzas in a sort of Neopolitan style, lots of crust on the edges, very thin in the middle, made with good ingredients. We sampled the meatball pizza and the sausage & peppers. I really liked the meatballs, though would have liked more small chunks over the whole pizza rather than only a couple large ones per splice, so that each bite would have meaty goodness. The sausage was more like that but flavor wise the meatballs were definitely better. I'm personally not super keen on the sauce they use, I'm having trouble placing specifically what I didn't care for but it just wasn't the flavor profile I was seeking. All that said, these are objectively good pizzas, and if you like Neopolitan style you should absolutely give them a try. For me, I prefer a thinner crisper crust and a more robust, spicy sauce, but it's a matter of personal preference. We also tried one of their house made sodas, the ginger beer - it was very good, and EXTREMELY gingery. It isn't super sweet, but just sweet enough. It's so heavy on ginger that about half a glass was enough - I'd share it, or try one of the other sodas next time. We also shared a slice of cannoli cake - this was a winner. I love the idea of cannoli, but most of the ones I've had have had stale crust, but this takes all the good parts (creme and chocolate chips) and puts it into a very good, rich cake with a hint of orange peel. Beats every cannoli I've ever had. The other desserts sounded amazing as well. Service was good, parking was available down the street. I bet during peak times it can be challenging to park around here. In the past I could eat a Neopolitan in one sitting, but I only ate a little over half of mine. My husband ate 3/4 of his. We were pretty stuffed after this and splitting a piece of cake. They consider the pizzas personal pizzas, but honestly if you get a salad or appetizer and dessert you absolutely could split one. Hungry teenagers though might not be satisfied with just one pizza. I think our two pizzas, one craft soda, large slice of cake came out to around $60 with tax and tip. If I want a Neopolitan pizza in future, I'd come here. It's not an always thing for me, but a once in awhile thing. They do have the quality down though for sure. If they had a sauce more aligned with my preferences, I'd probably crave it more often.

Yelp
I went to Frankly.... Pizza on a Saturday evening with my son, husband and a group of friends. I was really excited to try this pizza fresh since I had ordered takeout from here multiple times during COVID since I used to live close by. Unfortunately it was super packed and the wait time was over an hour... and with a one year old kid there was no way we would have made it. We ordered the pizza as takeout and we were going to just eat outside at the nearby park's picnic tables. After we paid, the staff let us know that they actually just had a cancellation and they would be able to accommodate our party immediately. The staff were kind enough to switch our takeout order to dine in and seat us immediately. We ordered multiple pizzas to share as a table. - Entree Arugula Salad - Very fresh and perfect to share as a light appetizer - Porky Marge - The house made bacon was delicious and luckily they do not skimp! - Sausage & Peppers - The sausage was very flavorful, but I was not a huge fan of the roasted bell peppers... they ended up being really soggy and didn't add to the pizza - Margherita - This was my favorite pizza of the bunch! The ingredients were so fresh, well proportioned and cooked to perfection. This was my go to for takeout and it tastes even better fresh! - Mushroom - This is a good vegetarian option, the mushrooms really soaked up all of the delicious flavors - Pepperoni - This was my second favorite pizza, it is completely loaded with pepperoni slices... another must try item after the Margherita :) I cannot emphasize enough how amazing the staff is here. They were so accommodating for us... even with the placement of every plate they were mindful that it was not within my son's reach so he wouldn't hurt himself. I would recommend this spot to any craving delicious pizza who enjoys great service, I plan to be back very soon :)

Yelp
//5 stars - Good pizza place with gold customer service Located in Kensington, MD it's a small pizza joint that serves a good selection of pizza, salad, drinks and deserts. All the pizza comes in the same size, about 12 inches in diameter but are customizable even with the preselect choices. They have a big pizza oven that is right smack in the middle of the restaurant- which is appreciated because you can see the good work they do as they prepare your pizza. Scott, the server was very attentive and helped very much in making the my selections. He definitely knows the menu. Salad: The special spinach salad was well seasoned and the homemade croutons handed some needed crunch that contrasted the spinach. It was a great starter while they made the pizza. Pizza: I usually get margarita pizza but the meatball pizza I got was definitely moreish. From the crispy and flamed crust to the greatly seasoned meatballs on top, I could've finished the whole pizza in one sitting. The bottom crust was both thin and fully cooked with great lepording that lend to a great bite. The tomato sauce on top should also not be forgotten - great taste. I had to save some space for dessert. Dessert: They only had 2 choices for dessert the "no flour chocolate brownie" or the "Blueberry pie bar". The blueberry pie bar had some fresh fruits within in the pie and a quite hard bottom crust that was a bit difficult to cut through. However, the warm pie with the cold custard on top made a great combination just as is even if you cannot get the bottom crust. One advice is to see if they can use an alternate bottom crust so it was easier to cut through with a fork. Other than that - it was a great dessert. Overall: Great pizza place. The ambiance of the crew chatting and the vibrance of the place was amazing. One advice I would give is to make a reservation as it is a small establishment and tables can be full at certain days. On the positive note, they do have an outdoor seating - if you prefer.

Natasha W.

Yelp
A family favorite. The pizzas are simply the best in the area. Perfect crust (if you don't like char, be sure to tell them when you order), great toppings, good drinks too. Note: no coffee on the menu. But if you want to be able to hear yourself or your companions - go early (or reserve outside) on a nice day, so you can sit in the covered outdoor space. We usually show up at 4:30 or 5 at the latest before it gets real busy. We ate inside once - noise level was off the hook.

Auna C.

Yelp
I've had this establishment bookmarked on my Yelp! since seeing them on a TV show years ago. So after completing an afternoon of outdoor physical activities what better way to replenish our energy than with pizza. It was finally, Frankly...Pizza! time to shine and it did not. I'm so sad to say that it was just okay pizza. I was expecting so much more from this establishment. They have a basic and limited menu. I loved that it's wood fired pizza, but that's about it. The pizza could've used a longer bake, ours seemed under baked as the cheese wasn't perfectly melted. There was no cheese pull whatsoever, the clumps of mozzarella came off cleanly with every bite. The sauce was acidic and not what I was expecting. The house made sodas were good but very sweet. The restaurant is small with a few indoor tables, so I recommend reservations for those months where outdoor seating isn't ideal. The staff are super friendly and inviting. I don't live close, so I doubt I would recommend to friends or return but people seem to love them based on the ratings. Cheers to a great time!

Sean M.

Yelp
I love how you get your own pizza! It's so cute and fun! The waitstaff is top notch and will take good care of you. I want to come back soon!

Christian H.

Yelp
My wife and I recently moved to Maryland from Philly and have been on the hunt for good pizza. We finally found it at Frankly Pizza! We got an arugula salad, a sausage pizza, and a pesto pizza--all phenomenal. The dough was light and airy, the crisp edges were perfect, and the toppings were flavorful and delicious. We were so happy dining on our outstanding food in the super quaint outdoor dining area on a warm May evening. Lastly, a huge shoutout to our waiter, Jack. Jack was kind, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to make our first visit to Frankly a memorable and pleasant one. Thank you, Jack and thank you, Frankly Pizza. We'll be back again soon

Eimy B.

Yelp
My family and I have been coming here for some time now and we love it. Customer service is amazing. Staff is always kind and attentive. Food is delicious. We normally order the meatball and margarita pizza. I did order their cream soda, not a fan, tasted too sweet for my liking. Great place for family and friends, never obnoxiously loud, just a really relaxed atmosphere. Overall, always a great experience here. Never had a bad one. Highly recommend.

Darryl B.

Yelp
This is my go to pie shop ya get me! The location is in the cut. the shop itself is small and intimate. The staff is quick and will have you in and out . The the outdoor seating has a nice vibe too I usually get a glass or 3 of Pinot Grigio or similar As of recently a pesto basil pizza with caramelized onions And whatever dessert they have for the season. I Would love to see them do a cannoli one time for the one time Bless up frankly pizza

Yelp
Absolutely amazing atmosphere and food! We stumbled upon this place while taking an art class up the street and now find it hard to not return weekly! Very quaint restaurant that does brick oven perfectly! Lilly H was our waitress both times and was the best! She remembered us and our orders from the week before, down to our wine choice as well. We will make this a staple in our restaurant outings for sure!

Yelp
Found my new pizza joint! I have a gluten intolerance and this is the first place in the DMV that I've found a gluten free crust I love! It's almost as good as Keste pizza , my favorite place in NY. I'm impressed. I got the mushroom pizza and added bacon. It was delish! The crust was not super thin like most gluten free pizzas. It was more substantial than most and nicely chewy. You have to make a reservation to get the gluten free crust at least a day before but it is worth it. I also appreciate they cook the gluten free pizzas first step try to prevent cross contamination. They will be my new go to here in Kensington.

Yelp
Sometimes you see pictures of food that looks good, but ends up being a disappointment. This was not the case! We are pretty particular about pizza, and this was one of if not the best quality pizza that we have had EVER! Not only that, but the ambiance and service was excellent. Everyone was very friendly including our waitress who gave some great recommendations.

Yelp
This is such a cute restaraunt! I went for pick up but would love to go back to sit out on the patio. I ordered a cheese pizza, because I'm simple when it comes to my pizza. The sauce was delicious and the parm on top tasted very fresh! No complaints from me.

Yelp
My family and I visited Frankly...Pizza! the other night. My family has been going for months and this was my first time! I started the night off with a Blackberry mojito soda (non-alcoholic). It was super tasty. I would recommended ordering their craft sodas!! I chose the Porky Marge with mushrooms for dinner. It is a regular margarita pizza with bacon on it! The pizza was soft and yummy. It was great! I just love wood fired pizza. The crust was very fluffy. It is good for a personal pizza (we all had one slice left to eat for lunch the next day). The pizza does take a little time to come out as they only have so much room in the oven. For dessert we got the flourless brownie. It wasn't my favorite. It tasted like fudge with a lot of caramel on top. I prefer a warm brownie sundae. Overall a great spot, servers had great energy, great venue, and great food! Will be back.

Yelp
We were a table of three. We made a reservation in advance for a gluten-free pizza as required. We each had our own pizza since they only 12" pizzas cut into four pieces. We all enjoyed our pizzas and the atmosphere was nice. The wait staff was nice and service was quick.

Yelp
We heard amazing things about the pizza and decided to drive out there to try it. We ordered a small pizza to go with pepperoni. The pepperoni were flavorful. The crust was burnt on the bottom. I could not eat it so I ate off the toppings. I'm not sure if that's normal for woodburning pizza but at the other places I've been, to it's never been this burnt and black charred covered on the bottom.

Yelp
Nice local hole in the wall. Great pizza, good beer selection. Worth seeking out. Since it's small, it gets full, so a reservation's not a bad idea. If the weather's nice there's also some outdoor seating.

Yelp
I'm gluten free and this is the best gf pizza in the DMV area. Their gf reservation is adorable and then there is a follow up email where they ask for your order and a couple other minor details. This place is 45 minutes from my house and I will drive it every time because there is nothing even close in DC proper. The pick up door is on the left and everyone is ready and waiting to get you settled and out the door. Very fast. It's clean inside and very pizza forward. I love you Frankly...pizza

Yelp
Before heading to DC Temple, Tyler and I had dinner at Frankly...Pizza!, a pizzeria in the heart of Kensington. Reservations for indoor or outdoor dining are encouraged as most nights are fully booked. Their patio is heated and covered. We had an outdoor reservation but were nice enough to allow us to sit inside because of the cold rainy weather. Lily was friendly and attentive. After glancing over the drink menu, I knew I wanted the Red Shedman Raspberry Hard Cider. As for Tyler, he couldn't decide between two wines (Lobetia Cabernet Sauvignon and Tsp Wines Coted Du Rhone) and it was nice to be able to try both before picking one. They have a variety of red and white pizza. A pizza can be gluten-free if reserved at least 24 hours in advance and for an additional $4. They are personal size pizza - about 11-12 inches. You may add romano, extra sauce, fresh garlic, EVOO, crimini mushrooms, spinach, basil, arugula, mozzarella, ricotta, olives, roasted peppers, pickled jalapeños, anchovy, pepperoni, house sausage, and house bacon to any pizza for an additional fee. Every pizza is finished with olive oil. We decided to get two of their most popular pizzas - Spinach Pie and Mushroom Pie. The Spinach Pie consisted of fresh garlic, mozzarella, caramelized onions, spinach, salt, gruyere, romano, and lemon. The Mushroom Pie consisted of mozzarella, crimini mushrooms, shallots, parsley, gruyere, romano, and porcini salt. Between the two pies, we liked the Spinach Pie because it's sweet and savory. We finished on a sweet note. The Lime Cream Cake consisted of coconut graham cracker crust topped with a coconut cream anglaise and lime zest. It was delicate and smooth like a cheesecake. It's definitely worth saving room for.

Yelp
Amazing, just amazing. The food was very delicious , I just got a cheese pizza but it was the best dinner I have had in the past 2 weeks. We get this pizza regularly (every month at least) and never fails to disappoint. The service was very fast, oddly fast. And the server was nice. Ambiance is good nothing too insane for a pizza shop but still very good.

Yelp
One night we were looking for a good pizza place. We found Frankly Pizza , a cute small restaurant with a good vibe in Kensington. The place was very crowded on a Sunday night so we sat at the bar. We started off with the olives and then we each ordered our own individual pizza. Both pies were absolutely delicious. Mine with arugula and anchovies and my son's with sausage and grilled peppers. Do recommend reservations.

Yelp
There is no doubt the pies from Frankly Pizza are top-notch! The dine in atmosphere is cozy and charming although we get Carrie out more often than not. To be completely transparent, I must say. The dining experience is a little pricey, but if you know that going in, the experience never disappoints. Are there cheaper pizzas to be found, absolutely, but none have the gourmet pizza market cornered as well as Frankly. Regarding the service, it never disappoints with a staff that genuinely seems like they're having a good time working in their establishment!

Yelp
A hidden gem in Kensington!!Shhhh...don't tell anyone!! Small, quaint restaurant with a great, upbeat vibe! Staff is amazingly friendly from the moment you step foot in the door. Clearly lots of regulars come here!! Menu hosts delicious "white" and "red" pizza....cannot say enough...but all of the pizzas are the pièce de résistance!! Delicious burrata appetizer...fresh, light...delicious! Local beers and "handmade" soda on tap...and a small, but reasonably priced Italian wine list. The pizza crafter (the man behind the glory of the wood fired pizza oven) is a character in and of himself and not only is entertaining to watch spin dough balls into masterpieces...but his jovial interactions with customers! Only wishes we lived closer.....

Yelp
Yesterday I called to order 2 large pizzas. I discovered later that there were only 4 slices. I have subsequently learned that Frankly Pizza only offers one site-- personal size pizzas. I do not order pizzas from this establishment, so I was not familiar with their pizza portions. You would think that the individual taking my order would have informed me that it only prepares one size. Nice customer service! But then I had to repeat 3 times the toppings. But my objection is that it would have been helpful if I had been made aware of their size protocol, not to comment on the worker's inability to retain the names of three simple toppings......
