Google
Listen😭😭 food is horrible very overpriced and low quality. Even drunk I couldn’t eat it…. I will say this! Great staff, great atmosphere and VERY BASED!!!! Seeing how liberal Wyandotte has gotten it felt pretty good to be in an atmosphere where I don’t gotta walk on egg shells on what type of words I may say…. Definitely will be back for drinks but never would I order food here again

Google
Visited on Fish Friday and was not disappointed the location was in the middle of a neighborhood but was totally great.... several different types of fish and they were all good and you don't leave still hungry

I've lived in Wyandotte for a few years and never knew Frank's existed but boy am I happy to have found it! The food is absolutely amazing!!! Large portions as well!

Google
Best bar in town. Awesome staff, food is amazing, and owner is a true patriot.

Google
One of the best tasting steaks that I have ever had. Service was very good. Definitely worth trying out.

This place is the last of the epic neighborhood bars. Best fish downriver and even better conversation!

Google
What a great local, neighborhood grill and bar. It's tucked away from the beaten path; however, it's worth the visit. Staff were engaging and the draft beers are budget friendly. Great place for a meeting with you cohorts or friends. Be surprised by the menu options: lamb, grouper, blue gill. Keepin' it real in the Dotte.

Yelp
In an old house that was built soon after the end of the Civil War, Franks has been serving beer and spirits since President Franklin Roosevelt's administration ... that means your great-great-great grandfather could have drank here. The interior has changed little since the 1940's, around the time Frank's became known for serving fish fry dinners to mostly Polish, Hungarian, German and Italian factory workers and their families. Great beer selection and prices ... Fantastic food ... and free kabuki from the talented chef "Frank" in the open kitchen. Located at the corner of Sixth and Forest, back in the neighborhood and relatively near the Wyandotte Municipal Golf Course (about 7 blocks) and downtown Wyandotte (about 10 blocks) ... Franks can be hard to find because it's way back in the neighborhood ... Google a map and plan on staying for a while.

Yelp
We tried the all you can eat fish (perch and bluegill) and it was absolutely fantastic! I didn't get seconds but my husband did. It's so filling. We have been searching for good fish around Wyandotte and it's beyond that. The perch has the perfect dry batter and size, truly a Great Lakes fish. It came with coleslaw and either fries or hush puppies and served after 4pm. This is a great neighborhood bar and it's been here forever. Nothing fancy, just great food. I just wish we would've found out about the fish when they first started it. We went Wednesday and my husband asked to go back the next day. It was even better. It truly is the best fish.

Yelp
I had the cod, my husband had the shrimp. Both were delicious!! The staff was very friendly! It was really busy and took a long time to get our food but it was understandable considering how busy it was. The spring rolls were delicious too!! I will be back often!

Maria M.

Yelp
Solid food and Frank is very friendly. The drinks aren't watered down and he's always down to have a shot with the customers. I had a bad pierogee craving and this hit the spot.

Yelp
Just recently discovered this little gem. It's Been a staple in Wyandotte forever. Wednesdays and Thursdays they have AYCE fish. Choose between perch, walleye, cod, blue gill. For those of us that remember traveling to Amherstburg and eating at Duffys. This blows it away. It has a delicious coating of cornmeal and is to.die for, I believe the fish comes from the Canadian side of the Great Lakes. You won't be disappointed!!!!!

Yelp
The perch was delicious. The tartar sauce was excellent! The wait staff was so pleasant. The little bar is cool.

Yelp
Very sweet, cozy place with really yummy food! The owner Frank is so nice! We went to Frank's as large group, many of is traveling from out of state as we were in town from Boston and Colorado for my daughter's bridal shower. Needless to say, we were not disappointed.

Yelp
I've been coming to Frank's for a few years now, but have not as yet posted a review. I live in Oakland County, but I grew up Downriver and always try to stop here when I'm in the area. Mike Pemberton and the staff are wonderful people. The fish dinners have been consistently great every time, and the value is extraordinary. I can't get a traditional perch or walleye dinner this good in Birmingham, Royal Oak, Ferndale, or any of the other restaurant hot spots. My wife always enjoys Mike's veggie burger and the fried pickles, and she always snatches a piece of fish from my basket. For those who have given less than stellar reviews and have made comments about the staff and other clientele, just realize where you are. This is not Portofino. This is old school Wyandotte at its best. Feel lucky when you come and get to experience an ambiance that you don't find around these days. The ladies on staff are the nicest and have given us great service over the years. Hats off to Mike for keeping a bit of history alive and serving up great food and nice chilled beer.

Yelp
Usually don't have a problem with this place but tonight on my door dash order I asked for a medium rare steak and it was literally well done lol you can literally tell by the picture how tough this is to chew

Kristin T.

Yelp
Love the fish and the neighborhood bar atmosphere! Duffy's was always our go to place for perch, until they closed. We have tried the perch at several other places and so far this is our favorite. The walleye is really good too, we just prefer the flavor and texture of the perch. The bartenders have been very friendly and helpful. Give it a shot!

Chris M.

Yelp
Good fish and beer. Get the fried perch, legit the best fried fish I've had. Food is very good and the beer is cold

Joeys S.

Yelp
Terrible restaurant. Management is rude and unwelcoming. The food is all microwaved frozen Gordon's food. Don't waste your time at this disappointment you'll get more satisfaction at McDonald's.

Kimberly R.

Yelp
I remember coming here as a kid some 30 years ago and wanted to see if the fish was still good. They did not disappoint. Amazing perch and fries. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Great atmosphere. Will make the hour drive again to come back!

Yelp
I have mixed feelings about my experience I look forward to going here after a recent article I had read butt some of the menu items they were out of and the fish was okay but not anything out of this world definitely not Scotty Simpsons or chicks on Warren status if it is not lent and you do not have the choices of the local churches doing fish Fry's this could be a reasonable stop. When I was there it was somewhat quiet but could tell a little more of the younger crowd tends to be there. a group that was over by the pool tables was a little loud and playing some non hospitable music along with some very inarticulate verbiage LOL but you're in a bar so suck it up and deal with it LOL. as far as Ambience goes definite home run feels like a little hole-in-the-wall that has been there forever and if I lived in the area would absolutely love being able to walk to a home near this. it isa home set up like a bar. the houses in the area are Immaculate and well-kept i could probably guess that I don't want to be here on a Friday or Saturday we also stopped by a local bar on the way home not too far away and they confirmed our suspicions and mentioned a few articles online I should probably read. but I will probably be back regardless the service was good by a younger freckled red headed female probably 22 years old and a hundred pounds dripping wet LOL because of that I will go back and try some of the other food but it's tipping on a fourth star for sure! just probably will steer clear on a Friday or Saturday

Nick P.

Yelp
Great dive bar. Highly recommend! No gang activity. It's in Wyandotte...not Detroit...

Dustin M.

Yelp
Great place!! Great old building has been a corner bar over a 100 years and sits on a corner right in the middle of a neighborhood, have been here 2 times now the fish is hands down the best fish in a bar / restaurant I have ever had the owner Mike who is also the cook suggested I do half and half the perch and the walleye and it was great he also has cod which from what everyone says is just as good as the walleye and perch. The 2nd time I went in there was last night I had a bowl of Walleye chowder and the 20 once porterhouse steak the steak comes with fries and it's only 15.99 and it was very good you can't go to your chain steak places and get this steak for less than 25, cool atmosphere like I said place is old has wood floors just a cool place, and good for anyone age groups range from 20s to 80s lots of older people on Friday 6 pm for fish dinner give it a try food is good and beer is cold , if you go on Friday go a little later as they are very busy up till about 7.

Yelp
This place doesn't look appetizing, but I can't judge by just the looks. Inside of this place looks normal, not too bad for a bar. Got the Spicy Cheese Balls as an appetizer, not that spicy but it's very good. Got the perch sandwich and steak dinner, definitely recommended. Looks aren't everything, this place is good for what it's worth.

Edward Z.

Yelp
Amazing walleye dinner this evening. Not heavy, lightly breaded and great flavor. Would do this again. A friend's perch dinner was equally s good. Will be back to try something else.

Kim C.

Yelp
Good Perch, Good Cod! Service a bit confusing on a Friday. Excellent Old School time!

Jim R.

Yelp
My wife and I just got the perch dinner and we think it is an extremely amazing fish dinner! The wait staff is friendly and this place has a lot of local interest. Ask around and get some great stories.

Yelp
I ordered a double 1 pound burger around 7PM last night with Uber Eats. The driver had trouble getting a hold of the cook. When I finally got my burger it was missing the 2 types of cheeses, lettuce, tomato, and onions. It was just 2 not so good tasting patties on a bun and the bottom bun was so soggy that I could not pick it up. What a waste of money!!!

Yelp
The owner of Franks Cafe would not honor my restaurant. com certificate tonight. I just bought it 7 days ago. He said " We don't take those anymore." Not interested in keeping customers? Turns out, the two tables near me overheard this and shared their storys with me that their certificates would not be honored either. Those diners had already ordered and had to stay. We found out, drank our beer, paid, and left. We felt the owner didn't deserve us. Oh, and, no, he didn't have a sign posted that he didn't take these certificates either. Is this the way he keeps customers coming in?

Chris G.

Yelp
For a dive bar this is ok. For a place to get fish on a Friday during lent, it is not. I ate fish there and got sick 30 minutes later. The next time we went I made sure to eat something else since my father in law loves this place. I ordered a burger and it was less then average. The cleanness of this place made me question if I should eat or not. If kitchen nightmares or a show like that came here they would prob freak out. I guess this is my first world problem.

Yelp
Frank's Cafe has the BEST Perch and Walleye~ the breading is very light and the quality of fish is amazing~the owner cooks to perfection!! Love Franks:)

Joshua T.

Yelp
Best fish fry I've ever had. Its an old school dive bar with a pool table and dart board. Staff is great and the owner is amazing. Will be returning definitely! !!

Adam W.

Yelp
I try to go on Fridays for the food. Little corner bar that I wish was on the corner of my street. Excellent food. I love the shrimp dinner and the Polish Platters remind me of grandma. Ill definitely be back. Drive there-Uber home. Drink responsibly!!!
