The food was amazing... the halibut was perfect and the house-made panna cotta was the best I've ever had. But what really impressed me was the service. 3 or 4 different waitstaff tended to me, and all knew that my coffee was decaf, even though I only told one of them. The atmosphere was cozy... love the window seats where you can watch the cable cars go by. I don't ever write reviews, but this restaurant truly inspired me.

Every dish was decent, the most stunning one being the shrimp scampi 👍🏼

This has been a favorite SF food establishment for 18 years for us. We loved coming to Frascati when we lived here. And returning after a decade of not going did not disappoint. The pork chop is still perfect, the risotto excellent, and the halibut was full of flavor and flakey light. And my wife got her long time favorite chocolate bread pudding.

I had a dinner here with my friends. I loved their great service; our waiter was wonderful and provided very personalized experience. Their food was so delicious and they have very cozy atmosphere.

For my 70th birthday, my in-laws took all 5 of us to Franscati. We had seen the restaurant at the corner of Hyde and Green whilst riding the Cable Car from Ghirardelli Square. Everyone inside stopped eating, and waved - it looked festive, good reviews...we took a chance. Frascati is a POPULAR NEIGHBORHOOD restaurant, with GREAT service, GOOD food, and FESTIVE atmosphere. Old school SF neighborhood place - IYKYK We had such a good time, we rescheduled our 40th anniversary dinner from a steakhouse to Franscati. The owners - host and hostess [both pros] - remembered us, and seated us in the front so our grandson could see the Cable Car. I can't see how the service could have been better. Hate to use the word "magical," but I can only think of one other time where hit this level of perfection - everyone had an enjoyable and care free time - with no disappointments. I can personally attest to the following food - 5+: Filet mignon, gnocchi, chicken, beet salad, ice cream (made in house)

What a fun night! This was a repeat visit since it was so warm, welcoming and delicious the first time. They did not disappoint on this return visit. It definitely is a local favorite on Russian Hill. How fun to be a local for the night. Food was spectacular and wine choices divine. Don’t miss out on a true Italian experience.

Myself and 3 coworkers were in town for a work conference and we decided to ensure we try local restaurants. Frascati was absolutely fabulous. The food was extremely delicious the atmosphere was amazing. The restaurant is right on the cable car route and that gave it an extra special touch. The service was fantastic. By far one of the best restaurants I have ever been too. Thank you Rebecca and Jon, if I make my way back to San Francisco I will definitely be back!

We had a wonderful dinner at Frascati in Russian Hill. The restaurant transported us to Europe for the night. Frascati was beautifully decorated for the holidays, adding to the cozy atmosphere. We sat upstairs on the second floor and ordered the fresh fettuccini and pappardelle for our entrées, splitting both dishes so we could try each. For dessert, we took home a pint of Rebecca's house-made ice cream. The mint chocolate chip had a rich chocolate base, much more chocolatey than I'm used to, but still enjoyable. One of the owners, Jon, stopped by our table and was very friendly, greeting us and checking in on our meal, which made the experience feel especially welcoming.

Really enjoyed this spot overall. The food was excellent and the service attentive. The chicken was cooked to perfection, with beautifully crisped skin and great flavor. The risotto was rich and creamy while still having just the right bite, and the wine pairings worked very well. That said, the burrata appetizer was a real letdown. At $16 for just two pieces (with stale bread, no less), it felt underwhelming and overpriced, especially if you're sharing. For a group of three or four, it just doesn't make sense to serve it that way. Overall, a great experience thanks to the main dishes and service.

A great neighborhood gem with one of the best pork chops ever! It was super moist with a great balance of light sweetness against a light char from the grill. It was a generous portion with a popular sweet potato mash. We also had the duck breast which was cooked to a nice medium. Our group shared the chocolate bread pudding which was moist in the center with some crunchy edges. The almond panna cotta was perfectly soft and smooth. Servers were friendly and attentive and I also appreciated the lower noise level of the restaurant, allowing us to have good conversations.

Gorgeous and quaint, Italian dining. The pasta with Bolognese is delicious! There can be seasonal items and they also make their ice cream in house. You can't go wrong here.

Came here for a birthday celebration. The pork chop and the pasta were excellent. The burratas and gnocci appetizers were good but thought the brussels sprouts were ok. Appetizers seemed overpriced. We had a cake and they were so helpful and went above and beyond , serving the cake and re-packing again for us. Wonderful staff and phenomenal staff, and pretty good food!

Great place for a birthday dinner. They will treat you well! The food is beyond wonderful. I had the sea bass last night and it was cooked to perfection and the lemon was the perfect kick. The cheese plate is great to share as well. The big highlight was the apple cobbler. It arrived extremely hot with French vanilla ice cream. They make everything homemade. Even the ice cream. It was slightly dark inside, so it was difficult to read the menu. Everyone was quick and attentive. This place is located right by where the cable cars stop, which is a cool thing to see. Don't forget to get a pint of ice cream to go!

I really wanted to like this place. It has such great reviews and a cozy and intimate setting with an Italian charm to it. I will say they accomodated our 6:30 pm reservation with grace as we had issues with our party arriving on time. Once 2/3 of us were there we ordered appetizers as we waited for the last person to show up. Got the brussel sprouts and octopus salad but I was left with a bad taste in my mouth as I found a hair in the large bite of my octopus salad. So gross and the salad itself was not even anything special. The brussel sprouts were sparse, not cooked correctly, and bland. This place could not come back after this one and decided to leave after this incident. It was brought to the managers attention and she apologized and did not charge for the hair plate. Overall Food was meh. Service was okay. Likely won't be returning or recommending.

This is a locals spot. Came here for the first time w my husband and was pleasantly brought back to a homey Italian dinner I had in Italy years ago. The staff is very welcoming, warm and attentive. The menu is simple so you won't have decision fatigue. But boy, will it hit the spot! Pair your selection with a nice rich glass or cabarnet (there are some rich and delish choices!) and melt into the relaxing ambiance. Cheers

I think I reviewed this place already twice before but I have to give it another review because it is just that good. It is a wonderful family owned restaurant in the Russian Hill neighborhood on a beautiful corner near the trolley. They have a wonderful indoor seating a balcony level with very intimate two table seats. This restaurant brings in neighborhood, families, regularly, date nights and visitors. Everything on the menu is great. The last two times I've gone we have ordered the pork chop and the duck risotto which are outstanding. This is also one of the only restaurants where I would order a roast chicken on the menu and I can attest that it is perfectly moist. I highly recommend you get the bread pudding for dessert. It is made by the owner herself and it is just so delicious. The menu is on the pricey side, but I believe you are getting what you pay for.

As Russian Hill residents, we love Frascati and the hands-on owners and staff. You will meet them for sure if you go. The menu has been tightened up to 1 side of page since a couple of years after COVID hit. The steak is fine, duck pretty good and pork tasted of brine. Would avoid the sweet potato puree that came as a side if you don't like chewing rosemary needles.

I'll give 5 to this place for having fantastic freshly made pasta - fettuccini and parppadelle were to die for; and the best pork chop I've had in a long time. If you're choosing only one main, go with the pork chop. I tried the filet mignon as well and was cooked to perfection (charred on the outside, pink and juicy inside). From the appetizer list - shout out to their burrata bruschetta. Finally the dessert - beautiful panna cotta with bananas - my favorite. The ice cream is homemade and the one with hazelnuts was incredible. Service was very good and ambiance casual and traditional italian.

I booked a very last minute dinner reservation for a birthday. Finding parking was tough which made us even later to catch the reservation. Fortunately they were able to seat us and were very gracious even though we were there close to their closing time. We've been here for many special occasions, birthdays, anniversaries, and each time we're reminded of why we love it. Don't pass on the homemade ice cream.

Service and food was excellent! The roast chicken was worth the 35 minute, yhe papardelle noodles were perfectly sauce and the resident sommelier recommended a great red. Would have been 5 stars but parking was a nightmare and no cocktails

Quaint little corner restaurant. They have a simple menu with enough variety, something for everyone. Nice place to have a special dinner, like birthday. I got the salmon, which could have used a touch more seasoning and char, but that's just my preference. Really like the pea sprout it came with. Heard the filet was good too. The star of the show here are the desserts. They make everything fresh, including homemade cream. We got a sampler, one of every dessert, for the table to share. Each and every one had its own unique twist and delicious! I would come back just for their apple cobbler pie, panicotta, bread pudding, and ice cream. They can accommodate a large group of you call ahead. The owner came out to greet us, they are wonderful people.

Good ambiance, food, and service at Frascati. Seasonal menu that changes and a great wine selection. Everyone from apps to main course to desert were delicious. Great place for a romantic dinner or dinner with family/friends.

The service was good and this place was very cozy. Had the Valentine's Menu Special. Super overpriced. So overpriced that I told my bf to take me out the day before. He spent like $300. I was like . . . NOPE! So not worth it. The food was decent, but not memorable. Not as memorable as the places I went to the week earlier! So we ordered the Veal Osso Bucco Risotto which came with rice and a big bone of meat and a little bit of garnish. The meat was a little taut and the sauce it was sitting in didn't have much flavor. We needed to add salt! The risotto was cooked well. Not too mushy or undercooked. Next, we had the Pan-seared Filet Mignon. This dish was good. It was cooked to our preference, the few veggies on the plate were well seasoned and tender. The sauce on the steak was tastier than the Veal Osso. (This is out of order by the way) We had the Duck LIver pate with mustard seed. That shit was hella tasty! I think we probably licked the plate. hahaha We also had the Lobster Ravioli and it was tasty . . It. was just a tad bit mushy (left in the water too long) but otherwise pretty tasty. You could taste the lobster in the center oozing out. Overall the meal was ok. I might return on a regular non-Valentine Day. The best dishes were the appetizers.

This restaurant just became our favorite go to! We celebrated our 24 wedding anniversary here last evening. From the moment we entered, everything was perfect. Rebecca and Jon, the owners, absolutely make it all magical. We ordered wine from one of our favorite Italian regions, Montefalco. We then ordered the fettuccine with beef bolognese and the roasted half chicken. The chicken was beyond amazing and so very flavorful. The fettuccini pasta was so light and the flavors were just what we were looking forward to enjoying. Since we normally don't order deserts, we were ready to decline until we learned that Rebecca creates the deserts and personally makes the ice creams. We had the cinnamon apple cobbler with vanilla ice cream - WOW! We are already planning our next visit!

TBH- Food is simple (could use a little flavor and more Italian options), service is great, quaint atmosphere.

This is a sweet Italian spot located in Russian Hill. My friend and I were celebrating and reservations were easy to get via OpenTable. We ordered: Russet Potato Gnocchi ($15) - 3/5. The gnocchi was really mushy. There wasn't any bite to it. The sauce is good, but I would've liked more texture. Octopus Salad ($17) - 3/5. I wish there was more octopus in this, or maybe it was chopped into such small pieces that it got lost amidst all the greens. Grilled Pork Chop ($36) - 5/5. This was so good! The meat is tender and juicy, and despite the thickness of the chop, the meat was thoroughly seasoned. Risotto ($33) - 4/5. We couldn't finish this, it was so decadent. It came with a big chunk of meat with bone attached. I think it was pork, but it was a bit dry. The bone still had marrow inside, so that was lovely. Apple Cobbler ($10) - 5/5. This was a great way to finish off the meal. Crunchy, sweet crust and warm cinnamony apples on the bottom. They replace your plates after every course, and our dishes came out one by one, making it easier for us to share. I liked seeing the flames flare up on their grill throughout the meal. Great last minute date night spot!

My wife and I were invited out to dinner by some good friends and they took us to Frascati. The restaurant is very nice and is a great spot for intimate dinner with friends, family or that special someone. For dinner I had the Grilled Pork Chop which was cooked and seasoned perfectly. My wife had the Duck Confit Risotto which she really loved (she gave me a taste and it was really good). The other members of our party had the Roasted Chicken and the Filet Mignon. Everyone enjoyed what they had. The wife of the husband & wife team that owns the restaurant came by our table and chatted with us for a while which was really nice. For dessert we had the Warm Black and White Chocolate Bread Pudding (with Hazelnut Ice Cream) and that was very good but I could have done without the chocolate in the bread pudding. Overall the food and experience was fantastic and it was exactly what you would expect from a really great family owned Italian restaurant. I highly recommend!!

We received an amazing welcome with great seating and impeccable service throughout our experience. Frascati made my husband's birthday very, very special. Wonderful starters with Buttery Gnocchi and a refreshing Bread Salad but do not miss the opportunity for succulent Frascati's Roast Chicken and Rebecca's cloud-like Pavlova for dessert. All so very delicious and only matched by John and Rebecca's warm and neighborly hospitality that we sincerely felt and that we carried throughout our evening. Thank you for a wonderfully, memorable dining experience!

Frascati was an incredible dining experience. I brought my husband here for a birthday celebration- from the moment we arrived he was wished Happy Birthday by the wait staff and who I presume were the owners. The ambiance is charming, cozy and romantic. We had 7:30pm reservations so it was quite full. We were seated next to a large party also celebrating, so it was a bit loud, but after our meal we were offered another table to enjoy dessert without us even asking, which shows their attention to their customers. My husband ordered the pork chop and I ordered the filet mignon- we were both incredibly happy with our orders and there wasn't a bite left. For dessert we ordered the Panna Cotta and the apple crisp and devoured both. My husband shared it was the best Panna Cotta he's ever had- the silky texture paired with the caramelized banana were amazing. It was a lovely evening we both enjoyed!

Filet, duck, Brussel sprouts, and burrata were excellent, as was the service. Restaurant is beautiful.

Incredible! Every time we eat here we find a new favorite dish. Here are some must try's. Grilled Bread Salad. Those aren't croutons-that is perfectly lightly toasted bread. You also can't go wrong with the Strawberry Salad. For the main dish, this might sound odd, who orders Roasted Chicken at a fancy restaurant but believe me, it's the Best Roasted Chicken you will ever consume. If you must stick with the fancy vibe get the Duck Confit, it's delicious. Finally, the absolute Best, most Delicious Dessert (that I only get here because no other restaurant can even come close to the perfection) is the Almond Toffee Pana Cotta. Seriously, no joke, do not skip dessert! There is a great little ice cream shop down the street but save that for next time. Tonight you must get the Pana Cotta.

I first walked by Frascati a couple of months ago and it looked so cute, I couldn't wait to try it. I had the opportunity to check it out with some friends who were visiting the city for the first time this past weekend. Unfortunately, we left pretty disappointed, though I do think it's worth trying again for dessert. Here's a bit about our experience. Pros: 1. Service - this was the highlight! 2. Ambiance - Frascati has great curb appeal. The second floor is so cute and the lighting/layout feels intimate. Cons: 1. The food, unfortunately - it was our collective (4 people) least favorite meal of their long weekend visit. Perhaps we ordered incorrectly, given that the dishes we ordered aren't featured in any reviews, but they were all pretty big misses. First of all, I do not recommend the black cod. I usually love black cod, and always order it when it's on a menu. They gave us 3 pieces and each was cooked drastically different. One piece was... fine, one was very salty/briny with a strong fishy aftertaste and seemed overcooked, and the third was... very fleshy and not flaky, and didn't feel like it was thoroughly cooked. It broke apart in thick chunks, which was not appetizing. I've eaten black cod from restaurants all over the US, and I've never tasted it prepared so strangely and inconsistently from one order. We also ordered the octopus salad, brussel sprouts, broccolini biqsue, bread, and fettuccini. The bread was my favorite part... I would come back to try dessert and the gnocchi, which I almost ordered instead of the cod, and seems to be a real crowd pleaser!

I really wanted to like this restaurant. But everything is mid. Blah. Service feels rushed. It's loud. The food is average. We tried the Burata with prosciutto, it's only two thick pieces of bread with tiny pieces of ham and a bit of cheese on top. Not even tasty. The octopus salad is decent but nothing amazing. The salmon is fine. The duck risotto it's not what you would expect. It is a basic, not flavorful risotto with a piece of duck on the side. Are we not returning? I would not recommend that you go because you can't find much better Italian restaurants in the city.

Ambiance is so homey, the service is just perfect, so attentive and so welcoming! The food is to die for and you can never ever go wrong with anything on the menu, but my heart has a special spot for the gnocchi. Thank you Frascati's I'll see you soon

What a gem! Frascati is a San Francisco institution at this point. Rebecca and Jon have always been nothing but kind and warm. Seeing them truly amplifies the experience. The service here is outstanding and very comforting. The food is simply delicious. No matter the dish, you'll leave full and satisfied. Grab a glass of wine, a seat outside, and watch the cable cars pass by, it doesn't get much better than that. Pro-tip: do not skip dessert. Rebecca makes the best desserts and her ice creams are yummy too!

This restaurant is very authentic. Wonderful service and food but the real stand out is the absolute profound and utter amazingness of the pastry/dessert chef. In all of my travels around the world and in Michelin rated restaurants, Frascati has the best desserts I've ever had and I'm not actually a dessert person. I'm so impressed with the owners and especially the beautiful women who makes the desserts and checks on the table that my mind is blown. I'd come back just to eat dessert and I never say this! Don't get me wrong, the food and pasta and breads and salads are top notch too! But I have a special place in my heart for the beautiful dessert lady and her prized collection of pure dessert enjoyment. Thanks for a lovely evening. Service was also spectacular!

My husband and I live around the corner from this place. We finally came here last night for an early anniversary dinner, after making a reservation on OpenTable. We switched our reservation on OpenTable from 9:00 to 9:30, with no worries at all. Upon arriving at the restaurant, the hostess checked us in and while there was an open table for two near the door, she asked if we preferred a table a little bit further into the restaurant (we did!) and she said she would get it cleaned up right away. After we were seated, we were handed menus very quickly and congratulated on our anniversary with a little place setting as well. Our server was gracious with recommendations for the appetizers and small plates/starters. We ordered the gnocchi and duck confit salad. We also ordered a glass of the Experience cab. They brought us bread and olive oil. The gnocchi was incredible!!! I often don't like gnocchi because it's just too dense - not the case here at all. So light and buttery and delicious. The sides on this dish were perfectly paired - the mushrooms were amazing. We also loved the duck confit salad. The crunchy pieces of duck paired well with the greens, bits of sweet/tart and cheese. Only recommendation here would be to add more greens to balance the dish. Our wine was great, but when a bug landed in it, I was hoping to have the wine replaced (the server just took the bug out and asked "you didn't want the extra protein?"). Less than ideal response, but ehh... Now for our mains, I don't eat beef and my husband and I wanted to share last night, so that eliminated the filet and beef bolognese dishes. We went with two seafood dishes - lobster risotto and seafood linguine. I really didn't like the risotto. It definitely needed salt and was pretty watery. The linguine was a bit better but the pasta and scallop were both over-cooked. From pictures and recommendations, it seems like we would've been better off with the duck, pork chop, chicken, or halibut. Next time! For dessert, we ordered the affogato, which was delicious! Comes with a biscotti on the side. To help us celebrate, they also gave us a complimentary coconut gelato dish (with a candle!), which was great. We had quite a bit of the entrees left over, so they packed it all up. We'll be back - but will definitely order other entrees and swat those bugs like crazy!

My friend & I decided to try this place after having it bookmarked for so long and it didn't disappoint. The restaurant is located in Russian Hill (great location but parking can be quite difficult to find). I'd recommend leaving ~15-20 minutes earlier to account for parking unless you get lucky! There's 2 levels you can choose to sit at when you arrive (bottom is right in front of the kitchen and top overlooks the kitchen). The 2 level is pretty secluded which is great if you want a quiet place to chat. It can get quite hot upstairs though so that was the only con. The food was delicious and super flavorful. Things ordered: - russet potato gnocchi (4/5, great texture and the truffle gives it a nice hint) - pan seared filet mignon (4/5, love the portion size and it was perfectly seared. I'd prob like to have more veggies it with it) Overall, I'd recommend giving this place a try if you're looking for a nice restaurant in SF that won't break the bank (super affordable prices)!

From the moment we peaked in to check on a table the ambiance was warm and inviting. The food exceeded our expectations : roasted chicken quite flavorful and delicious ; strawberry salad freshest veggies and then to top off the palette...coconut sorbet and lemon cake was undeniably the best .. homemade and delicious Ambiance is romantic and nice San Francisco locals vibe

Ok, I know this is long but I have to say it all. I like to consider myself a foodie. I make many Italian dishes. My friends agree I'm pretty good. It's my favorite cuisine. Ok, with that run up what's my honest review? I almost never give reviews unless it's an incredible restaurant; and this one was! I always worry that the dishes I'll get at a fine dining restaurant will not be as good as I can or have made; but I have to honestly admit that Frascati overwhelmed us. The dishes were better than I've made! Not only the food but the service and the hospitality! I felt like I lived in the neighborhood and was welcomed by the owners. And the vibe? It's one of the reasons I choose to come here versus other places with more reviews. Cute does not describe the place; it's cozy, elegant and comfortable. Feels like you are in Italy. We never felt rushed. We had the lobster linguine and mushroom risotto. The best we've had in 5 years in the Bay Area. Attesting to that we ate every last bit! That's a first for us! Ok, I'm at risk of no one reading this because it's too long. Just go!

I've loved this restaurant since discovering it in 2019. The people, cuisine, service, ambience and the owners are all awesome. We've been back to Frascati a handful of times since I first found this great, intimate restaurant.

Top 3 restaurant in SF easily! Friendliest staff and tastiest food. The ambiance is the perfect balance of romantic, classy, and homey. A great spot for a special occasion dinner or just a good night out. My boyfriend and I loved the upstairs seating. Notable dishes include the salmon (perfectly cooked), the russet potato gnocchi, and the chicken. Have to give this place credit for some of the best deserts out there - an absolute must try. My boyfriend doesn't enjoy many deserts but loved these. The warm black and white bread pudding was my absolute favorite. Overall a great spot with an amazing wine selection!

The service is amazing. The host (owner) was incredible! So caring and accomedating. The atmosphere was on point too. However the food... Well, it was a big disappointment. I ordered the prawns, those tasted of ammonia. I took one bite and i had to wash my mouth from the foul taste. I returned those immediately. Kids ordered pasta, it was freshly made, but the main taste was of uncooked flour. The steak was bland to my taste , but the kids loved it. The duck confit had a lot of un-rendered fat (could use more time cooking) , and the risotto was under seasoned and had the wrong texture. The cheese platter was disappointing, And the bread pudding was too sweet for us to finish. The only dish we enjoyed was the fig salad. For the service and atmosphere, I give all the stars. But the food gets no stars. The menu could be good if the cooks could execute it properly. But as for now, i don't recommend to come here for the food

One of the best and most underrated restaurants in San Francisco! Incredible homemade pasta, the gnocchi is fantastic, and the pork chop is one of the best you'll ever have. On top of that, Rebecca, John and their team provide incredible service. Don't forget the homemade ice cream!!

My friend ordered a medium-cooked fillet mignon, and it was totally red inside. Other dishes we ordered were really not good. - Their restroom is smaller than an aeroplane lavatory.

The food! I had the pork chop as I frequently do and this time so did my colleague, who typically does not and we both thoroughly agreed that it was a 10/10! We also enjoyed their appetizers and salads ahead of our main courses very much! The to top it all off, they have house made gelato! The only thing is they have many flavors of the gelato but only serve a select few by the scoop. All other flavors are only available by the pint, which was a bit of a let down as of course the flavors I wanted were not available by the scoop. However the flavors I did end up with, Chocolate and Hazelnut were VERY GOOD. The service was great and although I'm not sure if she was the manager, the owner or both, she was excellent. She was very personable and came by our table a few times throughout our meal to check in and make sure everything was enjoyable. On top this our waiter was very knowledgeable and recommended a great bottle of wine to accompany our pork chops. You cannot beat the ambiance of the restaurant either. A small shotgun style restaurant with the open kitchen on the right and seating to the left and a small loft with a few more tables in the back of the restaurant. It's always nice when you can see, here and smell what all is going on in the kitchen where your food is being crafted. Recommended!

This is our favorite restaurant! The menu is fantastic, highly recommend the octopus salad, pork chop, and the bread pudding. The service is great too!
