Fraser Suites Sydney, Australia - Hotel Review | Condé Nast Traveler

"How did it strike you on arrival? A slick 42-story contemporary glass-and-steel skyscraper by acclaimed U.K.-based architect Norman Foster, Fraser Suites Sydney is in the Central Business District (CBD) near Town Hall Station. It’s a short walk to Hyde Park, Chinatown, Darling Harbour or the International Convention Centre Sydney. Nice. What’s the crowd like? Business travellers can plug straight in at Fraser Suites, but urbane couples, families or friends will also appreciate the handy location and smart services. The lofty atrium impresses all comers, with a dramatic rainfall-style chandelier dripping from the ceiling. The good stuff: Tell us about your room. Sleek modern style rules in the 201 studios and one-bedroom apartments with floor-to-ceiling windows, neutral colours and on point technology (such as iPod docking sound systems, compatible with iPhone 5). All rooms have spacious work desks and well-equipped kitchenettes. Twice the size of entry-level Deluxe Studio Suites, the 56-square-metre One Bedroom Suites have separate bedroom, living, dining and study areas, plus a galley kitchen, stove top and washer-dryer. Interconnect both room types to form a Two Bedroom Suite. Two- or three-bedroom split-level Penthouse Apartments star impressive skyline views. We’re craving some deep, restorative sleep. They got us? Fine fabrics and linens make Queen or King beds inviting. How about the little things, like mini bar, or shower goodies. Any of that find its way into your suitcase? Mini-bars are stocked with premium wine and beer, including craft beer from Sydney’s oldest pub The Lord Nelson Brewery Hotel. Rooms also feature a microwave, toaster, kettle and Nespresso coffee machine. Please tell us the bathroom won’t let us down. Enjoy power showers in most rooms, with French L’Occitane en Provence products, bathrobes and slippers. One Bedroom Premier Suites have baths. Maybe the most important topic of all: Wi-Fi. What’s the word? High-speed Wi-Fi is complimentary in rooms and throughout the hotel. Room service: Worth it? Room service is available for breakfast and dinner. Staff: If you could award one a trophy, who gets it, and why? Book time with an on-site personal trainer. No need to let your fitness regime slip! 24/7 concierges and reception, a business centre and meeting rooms are also at your service. Anything stand out about other services and features? Whether it’s childcare, gyms, spas, even parking—whatever stuck with you. A heated indoor lap pool, sauna, Jacuzzi and 24-hour fitness room are handy for relaxing or working out. On-site parking and a valet service make life easy (charges apply). What was most memorable—or heartbreaking—about your stay? Buffet breakfast is served on the 10th-floor Mezzanine Level, where you’ll enjoy views over the city and Darling Harbour. Bottom line: worth it, and why? A luxe home-away-from-home for both business and leisure travelers, especially those looking at a long-stay." - Sophie Davies

Our first experience at Fraser Suites Sydney was excellent and surpassed our expectations. The staff member on reception when we arrived was warm and welcoming, and other staff we met during our stay were polite and helpful. Our two-bedroom deluxe suite was upgraded, so we were lucky to enjoy remarkable views from the top floor. The suite was spotlessly clean and supplied with all we needed for a comfortable stay, accommodating four adults well. We used the gym and pool daily, and clean towels were always available. The location of the accommodation was perfect for all that we had planned around the city, and we were able to access the airport and public transport easily. We are looking forward to staying with Fraser Suites again in the future. Highly recommended!

The Fraser Suites Sydney is one of few hotels worldwide I've stayed at, that  provides consistent, great, service. ||The staff are amazing. They even recognised us from our previous stay before we had even checked in, and our last stay was 6 months ago. ||Our room was not ready when we arrived, however, that was not a problem. We had arrived 4 hours before check in time, and we were happy to leave our bags with the hotel and enjoy the day in Sydney. As soon as our room was ready, we received email confirmation that our room was ready. This was still before the normal check-in time.  When we arrived at the hotel to collect our bags and room key, we were advised our bags were already up in our room waiting for us. Again, a nice touch... ||We stayed in a One Bedroom Premier Apartment. We needed a bath, and all of these room types have one. At the time of booking we requested a room on a high floor. We know these request are always subject to availability, but they did not disappoint. We got a room on level 38. Two floors from the top. Again, we were very appreciative that our request was accommodated. ||The Premier One Bedroom apartments are fantastic. There is a decent sized lounge area with a corner lounge, four seater dining tables, and a well equipped kitchen. There is a nice study area that we used to store our luggage. More than enough room to store 4 large suitcases. The bedroom was spacious, with a large TV and adjoining bathroom with Bath and a separate shower. The floor to ceiling windows running from the lounge, through to the study, then onto the bedroom, gave  amazing views of Sydney's skyline. ||Each time we have stayed, the rooms have always been clean and well maintained. ||Each time we have stayed, the staff have been fantastic. We have stayed at this hotel quite a lot, and we have never been able to fault them. Not that we were trying to. It's just nice when your experience at a hotel from check-in to check-out is consistently great with no issues.

We booked Fraser Suites Sydney for a 3-week stay with our newborn, specifically looking for an aparthotel setup to make things more comfortable. We had previously stayed at another Fraser Suites property and had a great experience—unfortunately, this one turned out to be a massive letdown. We spent over AUD 5,000, and this was easily one of the worst hotel stays we've ever had. Here's why:||||Terrible Wi-Fi||The Wi-Fi was completely unusable. It went down from 8PM one night and didn’t come back until the next morning. I contacted the front desk but was told there was nothing they could do. I work remotely, so a stable connection is essential. Even when the Wi-Fi was up, it lagged terribly—I couldn’t join video meetings and messages came through with long delays. Frankly, even budget hotels have better internet.||||Poor Cleanliness||The room was far from clean. There was visible dust on the ceiling, around vents, and on multiple surfaces. It didn’t feel like the room had been properly cleaned in a long time. I’ve attached photos to show the extent of the dust.||||Worn-Out Room||The condition of the room was unacceptable. There were holes in the walls, chipped paint, and scuffed furniture. It looked and felt tired, dirty, and badly in need of a refurbishment. Not at all what you'd expect from a so-called luxury hotel.||||Uncomfortable Mattress||The mattress was way too soft and completely unsupportive. Both my partner and I ended up with back pain, and I even had to seek treatment for it—costing me $600. We asked about changing the mattress, but no proper solution was offered.||||This stay was not just disappointing—it created unnecessary stress during a time when we needed comfort and reliability. I cannot recommend this property and would urge anyone—especially families with young children or those working remotely—to look elsewhere. Fraser Suites seriously needs to reevaluate its standards.

Fraser Suites Sydney delivered on every level. The professional and friendly staff made us feel welcome and the accommodation was perfect for our family holiday. Having the separate room for our two teenage children meant we could also have time to ourselves. The recreation facilities were first class with a well fitted out gym and the pool and sauna were a great way to relax and unwind.||The location was close to the tram and Town Hall train station which made it easy access to every major attraction. Lots of great restaurants and cafes close by.||Overall, our family had a fantastic stay and would recommend Fraser Suites to anyone visiting Sydney.

Just stayed overnight at Fraser Suits Sydney. Not only was our room clean, spacious, and comfortable, the view and facilities were fantastic. The indoor pool was a perfect temp to hop straight into and the location was a short walk to everything great in Sydney. Parking was easy there also. The most outstanding part, however, was Connie. I spoke to her the morning of check in on the phone to get some details and was greeted upon arrival by her also. We found her to be kind and so knowledgeable. I find that in any place we end up, amazing people are what makes a place memorable. Thank you Connie ! Can't wait to return next time with the kids in tow.

Having just spent a week at an exceptional hotel in Vietnam you would have thought the Fraser Suites would have suffered in comparison however it was exactly what we needed in Sydney. |Located on the edge of China Town the apartment was large, clean and most importantly had a washing machine and tumble dryer. It is also very close to the trams which made it very easy to get around Sydney|Everyone we met at the Fraser Suites was very helpful and we had no complaints about anything.|If you are looking for good space in a good location I would highly recommend the Fraser Suites

Stayed in the One Bedroom Suite and the views were stunning! High windows all around which provide the most beautiful views of Sydney. The room is very well equipped (toilet paper, body wash, soap, shampoo, all kitchen cooking utensils etc.) and even has a laundry room. Location is perfect, a 5 minute walk to Darling Harbour, Town Hall & World Square & a 15 minute walk from Central. The hotel itself has a shopping centre connected and you can actually get there from the lobby level. Staff are awesome, very quick and attentive even whilst having to tackle the Vivid rush. The Hotel has an onsite carpark (a carpark across the road also), a well equipped gym, a pool and spa. The only downfall was the elevators were fairly slow however there was one out of order. Other than that, the hotel is amazing and well priced for what you get!

Stayed in a Studio Deluxe suite and it was absolutely lovely. Very spacious, mainly clean. Only thing I can fault is that the cutlery in the room was dirty. No dishwashing liquid in the room to even clean the dishes. Breakfast was delicious and coffee was great. View is very nice. And the location is great for public transport and food with Regents Place being just next door to the hotel. Would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
A decent business hotel and I was fortunate to stay in one of their best rooms with crazy views (see pics). We used my room for a number of meetings which worked out great, except... for the catering. Both their in-room dining and catering services left much to be desired. For dinner one night I wasn't feeling well so I stayed in and ordered a burger, it was a sad rendition of the American classic. Also when they'd catered our coffee one morning they brought us a large French press, enough for 3-4 cups, fine for one person, but our group of 10 looked like they might attack if we didn't get a quick refill... which came 20 minutes later.

Yelp
Giving this hotel a 5-star almost solely because of its breakfast which was AMAZING!!! Granted, this was the only hotel I stayed at while in Sydney/Australia so I don't know if all hotels are like this but from talking to other people this breakfast really is pretty great. When you first walk in, someone asks what kind of coffee/tea you would like and starts that for you. The assortment of pastries and food is phenomenal but two of my favorites were the bacon (what I am more used to calling Canadian ham) and the poached eggs. DELICIOUS. I really would stay here just for the breakfast.

Yelp
This is a very nice establishment, rooms were dressed every clean, spacious rooms and immaculate gym and pool facility. My girlfriend and I enjoyed a night in the executive appartment suite, reception staff was very kind and helpful insisted us with every need with a smile and positive willingness to help. We ordered room service as we do in every place we stay at, their crème brùlèe was to die for try not over odering, it is a great temptation. Down sides to the food is there's no late night food service if there was it was not advertised very well. The sleep was amazing, the beds leave you feeling refreshed and energized. No selection of movies listed in the hotel or on the tv, not even adult movies which is always fun when you and your girl want to experience a every intimate night.

Yelp
Sydney Quarantine Yelp review: Ate at Fraser Suites for lunch today and if I could rate them higher than 5 anaemic thumbs up I would! I ordered the mystery lunchbox, mainly because no other choice. Secondarily, no other choice. What did I eat? An iconic Aussie meat pie, of course! If I closed my eyes it was like I was sitting at The Lord Nelson... without the glass of Savvy B and old man shouting the winner of the next race at me. One thing that could be improved was how to eat the pie whilst wearing my surgical mask. My server, who I never see, was full of personality and very knowledgeable about the menu. If we are preventing the spread of disease they are allowing the spread of butter on my bread!

Yelp
So far our stay here has been great! The hotel is modern and comes with all of the amenities. A bar, 2 refrigerators, washer and dryer, microwave oven, stove, sink, dishes, pots & pans, 2 TV's, table, desk for a work station, closet space and robes. Includes unlimited wifi, They offer a gym, bridal store, indoor pool, hot tub and sauna. They also offer a breakfast buffet which is daily from $28-32 per person, per day which is kind of pricey but it's a buffet. The housekeeper cleans our room and replenishes our towels, soap and tissue everyday and the customer service has been friendly. We have two more days here but if it continues this way, I will have no complaints. Overall 5 stars!

Yelp
Fantastic Service. At check-in they were really helpful with securing the earliest checkin available. Whilst we waited for our room to be available; they provided access to the leisure facilities, provided us with tips on where to go for breakfast and gave us a geographical view of the area with the aid of a map they gave to us. In no time we were in our fabulous room with a breath taking view of Darling Harbour. The room was clean, facilities A1 and the bed was extremely comfortable. The breakfast buffet provided some good variety and was at the 5 star standard I am used to. The room service menu was the only flaw during my stay a few errors... It appeared they may be overly accommodating vegetarians - even the Rump Steak was vegetarian! For those that like to keep in shape, Fraser Suites has a well equipped gymnasium with a very impressive indoor heated lap pool which I made good use of. A hot Spa bath is also available to wade in, if that's your thing, and a Sauna. Overall a pleasant stay in a great location with excellent service. I will return!

Yelp
I stayed here with the missus and we both loved it. The staff were all very welcoming and helpful. They have great room service and for those who want to keep fit, they have a decent gym. The rooms are very clean and have a instant walk in and feel like your home feel.

Yelp
I stayed here for 6 nights on business travel. Great location for me as my office was only a 5 minute walk. Everything is pretty much in close proximity in terms of cafés, restaurants and stores. George Street is only one street over so overall not a bad location. For tourists who may want to visit the main attractions like the opera house, darling harbour, etc. you'll need to take some form of public transportation. I actually just walked all the way up George street or took a cab. Staff is very friendly and willing to help. They have adapters if needed for international travels, so just ask the front desk and they'll provide. I stayed in a one bedroom deluxe apartment. Very cozy, more space than I needed. There was also a washing machine and dryer if you need to wash your clothes. Gym is 24 hours but like any other hotel, its pretty limited in terms of weights. They only have dumb bells and machines. Haven't tried out the pool but seems to be nice. Elevators are a little slow at times and room service was probably my biggest thing. They took nearly an hour to bring my food. Maybe it was just my luck but they said they were having a busy night. Overall I wouldn't mind staying here again.

Yelp
This hotel is modern and comes with all of the amenities. We stayed in a upgraded suite with a mini bar, 2 refrigerators(one small and one full size for groceries), washer and dryer, microwave oven, stove, sink, dishes, pots & pans, 2 TV's, table, desk for a work station, closet space and robes. Includes unlimited wifi, the gym is very basic but has all you would need for a good workout, indoor heated pool is appx 20m, hot tub and sauna. They also offer a breakfast buffet which is daily from $28-32 per person, per day which is kind of pricey but it's a buffet. The housekeeper cleans our room and replenishes our towels, soap and tissue everyday and the customer service has been friendly. It is centrally located in the Sydney CBD and very close to the subway/metro system and plenty of restaurants. We also lucked out and got a suite on the top floor with amazing views of the city!

Yelp
I stayed here for three nights with my family which was great - we have three children with us and the room was great and well located. The gym was nice and the pool has windows that look down two to three floors below which is very cool. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel location is good, particularly once you understand the short cuts to the major sites which took us a few days. My only complaint would be the breakfast which was mediocre and ridiculously expensive for the five us which was rather frustrating since the message when I called down to ask if it was included in the price implies it was, but we booked thru Expedia and understand that does not usually include breakfast. I have now stayed here with my family as have my parents and sister who also enjoyed staying here. We would stay here again and recommend the hotel to our friends, particularly for those traveling with more than two people as the rooms are very well set up to accommodate three or more people.

Yelp
Great hotel but lacking in fire safety. During my stay of 6 days, there were two fire alarms that woke me up at night. No announcements made, no guidance to the exits, no news on what was causing the alarms to go off. Both times I exited in my PJs and felt pretty frustrated with the whole ordeal. This would be my one critique to improve the customer experience...Communication and Guidance during an emergency.

Yelp
I've stayed at this hotel previously and was impressed this time as I was the last time. We needed a triple option which is so hard to come by in sydney and ended up having interconnected rooms which felt more like a super large apartment with different sleeping quarters. We stayed on a high floor, great views of darling harbour, room is huge compared to a lot of other hotels in sydney, clean and comfortable. Beds are really cosy too. The location is very central with nearby shops all around. Staff were professional and friendly I'm happy to come back again and would recommend this place as great value for money.

Yelp
I am not a easy marker and would not just rate it 5/5 for no reason. Great gym and pool. As clean as it gets and very helpful staff nothing to fault.

Yelp
Really enjoyed staying here. Stayed in a suite on one of the highest floors of building. Clean, friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast in the morning was great!
