The breakfast buffet was very good. It had a lot of great options. Everything was fresh and clean. -cheesy potato casserole was my husbands favorite -Good sausage links -eggs Benedict was served on a crispy hash brown, egg cooked perfectly, holindase was decent but would have liked more -Asperagus with holindase were a nice surprise -fresh iced tea -biscuits and gravy were good -baked beans, surprisingly my absolute favorite part. Smoky. -Expensive price for kids aged 3 and 4. -The server was MIA for refills.

Look, I went in the off season so maybe it's not at its best, but the only entrees on the half empty buffet were dry roast port, dry roast chicken and fish. The pasta made to order is basically pizza toppings served in pizza sauce on pasta. And for that price...! The vibe of being 1 of 3 parties eating in a place that holds 200 is definitely something. I dunno, maybe it's better in the summer, and the servers were great, but the octogenarian gentleman shouting, "The Fred Harvey has really gone downhill!" while flailing his cane in the air should've tipped me off (True story!)

Pasta station guy high as a kite… stirring the food with his hand. Terrain was outstanding as our waitress. It wasn’t snowing. Food was warm and good overall. Dessert = plus. Not enough people with Christmas pjs on.

I recently dined here during a stay at the hotel with a train package deal. I went in without expecting a five-star buffet — I understand that the main attraction here is the train experience — but I did expect a bit more variety for the price. For dinner, the buffet only offered three main protein options: brisket-style meat (while it lasted), BBQ chicken, and fish. There were also chicken nuggets and French fries available. For around $30 per person, the selection felt pretty limited. It wasn’t terrible, but it definitely didn’t feel like good value. That said, the pasta station honestly saves the buffet. The chef working that station was nonstop, making fresh pasta dishes consistently and keeping things moving. If it weren’t for him, the dinner experience would feel even more underwhelming. Nice and friendly guy too. Give him a raise! If I may offer a suggestion: if food costs are the issue, there are affordable ways to expand the selection. Simple additions like ground beef with potatoes, beef stew, chicken fajitas, or even chicken fried rice would go a long way in making the buffet feel more complete without dramatically increasing expenses. I can understand why some guests might leave disappointed at this price point. On a positive note, the breakfast buffet seemed to have a better overall balance and felt more satisfying. Overall, not a bad experience — just underwhelming for the cost.

Spend the money at one of the numerous, other, local restaurants that is 5 minutes walking distance away in "downtown" Williams. This is a very convenient location to dine if you are staying at the Railway Hotel. Our meals at Fred Harvey Restaurant were part of a train ride and lodging package. For us, it began as a dinner buffet. I chose pork loin to start. Decided it was tasty, and went back for seconds. They ran out and never refilled it. We're not talking about near closing, but at 7 PM! Another patron and I were eyeing for nearly an eternity to see when they would replace the soup that ran out at the beginning of my dinner buffet. I had to personally ask for the soup to be replaced at the buffet before they did it. The BBQ chicken was very dry and chewy. The pasta bar looked promising. Unfortunately, the alfredo sauce was watery and not rich in taste. Salad was very "mid". The only highlights were the (probably) store-bought frozen cheesecake and chocolate cake dessert and soft-serve ice cream with toppings. They did slightly redeem themselves with the omelete bar at the breakfast buffet. The egg benedict was interesting - it's not your typical benedict. The chicken nuggets were a bit on the harder side. Mini corn dogs are passable for kids - they'll probably eat anything. The orange juice was very watered down. It's very clear that the servers that will bring water / drinks are overwhelmed at peak meal times. The service is very hit-and-miss. The first night's buffet dinner left such a negative impression that we ended up getting our 2nd night's dinner elsewhere, even though we had already paid for the buffet. Approach the buffet at your own discretion and with extreme prejudice.

Omgosh. Cold dry food. Tasteless. $33 for this. I imagine a non buffet with a limited menu would be better. Everything we tasted we wasted. Well, my sister said the ranch dressing was good. Go somewhere else. Seriously.

The food was decent for a buffet but good god it gets busy here and the staff can not keep up. If you are doing a train ride with free dinner, be prepared for a very long wait to get into the restaurant and an even longer wait for your server to acknowledge your existence. By 7:30 pm the restaurant was trashed, food and garbage all over the floor, no dinner plates for the buffet and the women's bathroom was disgusting with clogged sink and only one working sink. Food tasted ok but only 3 protein options, Turkey, fish fillet and beef. The beef was good but the lady slicing it literally only gives you 2 bite sized pieces. I had to ask Her for more 3 times and my serving was still too small for one person. Not a fun experience when you have to beg someone to give you the food you already paid for. If you are a single parent with small.kids, don't even bother here. It will be impossible to get food and watch kids at the same time. Breakfast was slightly better experience but overall just avoid if you can.

I am not sure how people are saying it was amazing. Its way overpriced for what was offered. Arrived 7:30 p.m and they were out of food, out of plates, food they did have was cold, and had 3 different staff swap out cutting the same prime rib because knives were not sharp enough. So didnt know how to cut the meat and didnt have correct knives to cut it so they were sawing it like a piece of wood. Meat was cold. Its the worst buffet I have ever been too. I would not recommend coming for dinner to anyone that comes into town for Polar Express. Huge disappointment and I would go somewhere else.

My family and I dined at this restaurant as part of the Polar Express package for dinner and breakfast and had a great experience both times. There was a decent selection for dinner and breakfast, and the service staff was WONDERFUL! Everyone was friendly and they bring you your drinks and desserts. I am shocked by the reviews. I am extremely picky when it comes to buffets and I felt everything was fresh and tasty. The pasta bar and omelet bar were awesome! We loved our experience at the Grand Canyon Railroad Hotel and having easy access to this restaurant added to that. Be mindful of the train departure schedule as it gets busy before most departures and after arrivals.

This restaurant was booked as part of our grand canyon vacation package. Retail cost was $20/person for the breakfast buffet. We came on a early Thursday morning around 6:30ish. We were greated at the counter and then bought to our seats. We were a party of 4. They brought us to the seating area in the back which was sorta weird since there was plenty of seating in the main dining area. We were greated by the waitress. She asked us what we wanted to drink. Since we didn't book this meal we weren't sure what was included so my sister asked her if the drinks was included with the buffet. The waitress was very rude, rolled her eyes and answered "I think so." WOW unfortunately I forgot to get her name but she was young blond girl. Worst service ever. We ordered 4 orange juices. She never asked us if we wanted refills. We wanted some hot water at the end of our meal but she was busy chitchatting. She did come and take away finished plates though. The food was your usual mediocre buffet. They had a wide spread of eggs, sausage, bacon, eggs benefit, toast, fruits and oatmeals. The omelette station was the only good part of the meal. Made fresh with tons of topping selections. She also told us to come back 5 minutes later so we didn't have to stand there to wait for it to cook. So nice. The biscuits were also hard. The interior was very nice though. Nicely decorated and felt really cozy with a fireplace. Good for some photos. Overall, I wouldn't recommend due to the mediocre food and bad service.

This is the absolute WORST buffet I've ever had. Seriously. Cold tasteless soup, wilted lettuce on salad bar, cold dry food.... Yuk. Just yuk. A waste of $33. Eat in the bar in lobby or go somewhere else.

This buffet is abysmal, I'm not quite sure what we expected but for $30 per person adults and $22 per person children over 2 this was horrible. The food that we were able to get was terrible, tough, flavorless the rest of the buffet was simply empty with little to no effort in refilling the line. The buffet itself was filthy, the trays were mostly empty, the staff didn't care and the guy on the pasta station was openly complaining about making so many pastas while his line frequently had 15 to 20 people waiting as he would only make one pasta at a time. I'll never be back for the food though this was our fourth time on the polar express. The pictures will speak for themselves. We spent over $200 for our family and literally ended up leaving hungry and going to McDonald's. We didn't bother complaining, what's the point, you can see in the photos they knew there were issues and still didn't care to fix them. The atmosphere is nothing special. Eat literally anywhere else, you might as well set your money on fire eating here. Run, run far, run fast!

No food. What was being served was corn dogs and chicken nuggets. Even the salad bar was empty.

Do not recommend. There's no food available. The tiny bit you can grab did not look food safe (cold or been sitting out).

Had their breakfast and dinner buffet here when we were staying at the RV Park right next door - about a 5 to 10 minute walk. Huge dining room, a stage with live music for dinner, and an action station ran by the most efficient woman ... omelets in the AM and pasta in the PM. Dinner comes with a dessert. Service with a smile and small town charm. There was enough variety for me - not a ton but plenty to pick from. I just wish their menu changes to make repeat visits taste different.

It's a buffet. Some good food , mostly mediocre with occasional regrettable items. It's self-service except for your drinks, a pasta station and sometimes a carving station at dinner. The carved filet mignon was pretty good. There's always large quantities of gravy and canned vegetables. If you're 'lucky' you might get entertained by a not very good folk singer.

Purchased 4 meals with 2-night stay package at hotel. Breakfasts: decent coffee- 3 Eggs Benedict, Raw egg white on greasy hash brown patty- 0; thick bacon slices- 4; egg casserole- 3. Skipped breakfast on 2nd day. Dinners: basically same offering on both days. First day: salad bar with limp cucumbers, good shredded beets, cheese, olives, romaine and spring mix greens and decent ranch dressing. -1 But, by 7:30 and when we left at 8 nothing was replenished or wiped down in that area. Macaroni and cheese was pasty and inedible- 0; beef tenderloin, chewy and overdone. Couldn't cut with provided butter knife at table. Roasted chicken, good. -3 quinoa mix, tasty and my favorite -4. Dessert, apple pie. Nice filling but crust a bit doughy and overwhelmed filling- 2. Second day: gluten friendly pasta with sausage and white sauce. Pasta, just horrible and so was the rest. - 0; baked chicken leg- 3; salad bar, much better today and regularly replenished- 3 So, this restaurant is very convenient and the servers were all super friendly and efficient. Live musician on both nights with the second being superior. But, the food is just not worth it. Very little variety, low quality and hot foods, lukewarm at best. Recommend getting something easy at market for breakfast and coffees at Starbucks. So many choices for dinner within walking distance. We loved our deluxe hotel room though! ~EG Eats

Now THIS is my idea of a Western railway resort restaurant! The space itself is HUGE, with plenty of booth & table seating. Since I was only here for breakfasts, my review is on that alone. Well, THIS IS A BREAKFAST! It's a glorious buffet with what I can only describe as The Most Holy Omelette Station of All Time, Space, & Dimension. And all for a flat $20 (as of the time of this review)! The wait staff is blazingly good! I'm talkin' high-end Napa Valley good here. They made sure my drinks were filled & refilled, and that I had whatever condiments I needed. I'm definitely coming back here again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast before boarding the train. The buffet selection was very good and the omellet station was great. Our server was attentive and very pleasant.

Fred Harvey is the restaurant located at the Grand Canyon Railway Hotel in Williams, AZ. We dined here for dinner and breakfast as part of the Polar Express package we booked for the holiday. We went the weekend before Thanksgiving and it was pretty busy for their holiday season. The restaurant is buffet style and included holiday dinner food such as beef tenderloin, pork loin, turkey, and all the side dishes like mashed potatoes, corn, macaroni and cheese, vegetables, soup and salad bar, and dessert options that they bring to your table. For kids they have chicken nuggets and French fries. They also had a made to order pasta station which was good. For breakfast, they had all your typical breakfast foods. Definitely try the pancakes because they are really good. They also had a made to order omelette station which had a pretty long line. They also had cereals and fruit and yogurt. The food is decent and the service is good. The restaurant is convenient since it's at the hotel and you can get in and out fairly quickly.

Let me tell you- the beef tenderloin is absolutely worth the trip alone. Not to mention, the white Mac and cheese in its gloriousness moving in with main dish + seconds vibes! The buffet room is super comfy, and the lines move pretty quickly. The service is so friendly, and there was no waiting for our drinks. They bring out your desserts, so it saves you a trip back to the lines. The decor is adorable, and very on theme with the railroad station. We all enjoyed dinner in our polar express experience jammies, so don't feel obligated to go bananas unless that's your thing, then please do. This was a really fun memorable experience, we'll be back!

I wasn't expecting much to begin with but this place was really below my expectations. It is buffet only with no option to buy a la carte. To be honest though, I didn't have much time to try as much as I could and we went here more for convenience. The decor is very cute with a train circling above the dining area. We came here for breakfast but the options didn't really look appealing. The cashier and servers were really nice and the cashier even offered for us to look at the buffet before deciding to dine. We needed a quick option that was close to the train so we figured we'd just go for it. The only station that may be looked promising is that they had a cook to order omelette station. They had tater tots, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, bread/bagels for toast. Drinks are included in the price. The pros are convenience, especially if you are staying at the Grand Canyon Railway Hotel and it is close to the train. The servers are nice and I was able to bring some oranges and apples on the train which was a useful snack for later on.

Dinner buffet was included in our hotel stay at the Grand Canyon Railroad hotel. After disembarking our train ride we headed here. There was a long line through the gift shop but the line moved consistently and there was lots of tchotchkes to look at until we got through the line. Food was meh. They're still doing thanksgiving food into December. The Mac and cheese was really good. Breakfast buffet the next morning was good and about what you would expect. I had eggs Benedict and the kids had pancakes. The buffet is somewhat small but there is just enough variety that everyone should be able to find something to eat.

I don't like buffets much. when i was in cooking school, i learned a lot about proper food storage and temperature. It made me phobic about buffets, especially dirty ones. But as i've reflected about this place, i thought it's not made for me. it's meant for volume and speed, not good food. it's a tourist place. so i'm going to chill out a bit. We paid to eat here for 2 dinners and 2 breakfasts. The first dinner was so bad, I could not come back to dinner. The breakfast was a little better, but not great. At dinner, the buffet looked like it was a mess hall during an active war. It was so gross, i felt ill. They did have a pasta bar where you could get a something freshly prepared. It was ok. That pasta bar turns into an omelette bar in the morning. which is fine. There are servers here. They don't do much. They bring drinks and clear plates. But they're fine. They are not the issue. The food is. I'm trying to be reasonable in giving it a 2. it isn't good and it's dirty. but they're fast and they deal with many travelers. i could not eat here for dinner again and just didn't use almost $80 of vouchers to eat somewhere better.

Whadaya want??? It's a buffet, you frustrated little wokey's". Lovely setting, good, solid food - and great service. That anyone would complain about this place in ANY way is depressing. You'll get your fill; the quality is solid; and the overall experience is spot on. Thanks to management and servers!

My family had the opportunity to eat at The Fred Harvey restaurant four times as part of our Grand Canyon Railroad trip. The dining room is in the same area as the Grand Canyon Railway hotel and keeps up the train theme with a model train running the ceiling border of the room and plenty of windows to see the train arrive and leave if you are dining at those times. The staff are friendly and helpful. The reason for the three star rating is the food is mostly frozen food reheated at the restaurant but marketed as recreations of popular dishes from original Fred Harvey restaurants. Overall, you won't go hungry and the convenience of a short walk from the hotel to the restaurant makes dining at Fred Harvey attractive but if I could do it over again I'd only eat at the restaurant for breakfast before our train ride and dinner the evening we returned. The other meals I would have left to trying other restaurants in Williams, many which are a short walk away,

We got the package deal from Grand Cayon Hotel which included breakfasts and dinners. Before we arrived I checked yelp to see how the food was and I was worried that it may be bad due to some poor ratings. In my opinion the food was great. It's buffet food and it's pretty much American diner fare. If you're a foodie or expecting some big city cuisine, than this is not your place. In fact, Williams is probably not your place. The restaurant was clean and well organized. Service was great. Chairs and tables were comfortable. There were musicians in the evenings and they were entertaining. The food was fresh made and offered a wide enough variety to suit our taste. The top sirloin steak stood out with a nice carving station. The pasta c station was also great. The salad bar was fresh nd always stocked. The eggs Benedict were great in the mornings. Fresh orange juice. Overall, an excellent experience.

The only time I have been to this place is for Thanksgiving. This would be my 3rd visit and this one was the worst one out of them all. I don't know how this place is all the other times but during Thanksgiving. I would highly not recommend this the wait is extremely long to check in and to get any of the food. There is only one side running and by the time you even get your food they are out and you have to wait for them to cook and make more. The salad bar is empty and a complete mess. There is honestly nothing good to say about it. I'm pretty easy to please but this will be the last time I give this a go. It's expensive and just isn't worth it.

Stopped in for breakfast buffet. The food was very good and all you want. Then you can watch the Wild West show then load up on the train to the grand canyon

My wife and I enjoyed the food but my kids ate the mini corndogs and chicken nuggets for dinner and later that night both threw up. 1 star for any place that gives my babies food poisoning. A bit overpriced too. Try the more authentic restaurants in Williams across the street.

Feh! Tourist trap. Edible only if you don't want to lose your parking space! If you are hungry and do not want to leave immediate areas

We had a wonderful dinner and breakfast here in the Grand Canyon Railroad Package. Both meals are served buffet style with plenty of options. I loved the railroad train that travels on top, around the restaurant. Service was outstanding. There is an attached gift shop. This restaurant is adjacent to the hotel- very easy walk. They are both adjacent to the train depot, so everything is close together.

Yummy food. Great variety of selection of meals and desserts. Fast friendly servers. wonderful location inside of the lodge.

Oh Fred Harvey. You may have had a good restaurant here pre-covid but that has definitely changed. We unfortunately had this restaurant included in our package for the Grand Canyon Railway & Hotel and we were told it was a great buffet restaurant. Once we saw the actual buffet choices however it was anything but great. Dinner options are limited to one side of the buffet only. The carving and cooking stations are shut down. And the other side of the buffet area is also closed. Breakfast options are a little better but not by much. They had eggs Benedict which was surprising but beyond that it was your typical breakfast fare. If we do ever purchase the grand canyon hotel package we will not be including the meals as part of the package. You're better off going elsewhere in Williams to have a much better experience.

The 3* rating is for the food. We stayed at the hotel & this was convenient for breakfast before leaving for home. The price was ok for the food being offered. The sausage gravy didn't look appealing whatsoever so I passed on that, the same with the french toast, I chose the pancakes and I have to say they were great! I will give a FIVE STAR rating for the employees! Angie checked us in, so friendly with a side dose of humor! Tiffany was our table hostess and she was excellent and friendly as well. It was almost closing time and we had a great conversation with both of these ladies, they made our meal better than the food itself.

I was surprised at the number of negative reviews. I am not a fan of buffets and am picky about what I eat but I thought that this buffet was pretty good given the circumstances. I was staying at the Grand Canyon Railway Hotel as part of a package train trip to the Grand Canyon. I expect almost everyone who dines here is part of this endeavor. Since they have a captive customer base they could do much worse. Service was very friendly and efficient. Our server seemed genuinely happy to have us there. The dining area is large and homey. I had dinner and breakfast. The star of the dinner was the beef tenderloin which was very tasty. They also have a pasta bar with a cook who will make your pasta to order. There are several choices of sauce, protein and type of pasta. There is a salad bar which was kind of wilted. Vegetables which were a little overdone and a couple of chicken dishes. Dessert was very tasty. For breakfast they have a pretty wide selection. They will make you an omelette to order which is what I had. I thought it was a very good breakfast. All in all a nice experience.

Sorry we wasted our money! Do not eat here. Completely over priced. Memorial Day, barely enough food on their buffet to feed the customers. Food stations were not clean. Salad bar was disgustingly with foods dropped into other foods. Empty containers. One person making pasta dishes, line was 15-20 people deep. $34 per person after taxes. We wondered why the hostess where you pay prior to entering, told us the total price and asked us if we wanted to look at the buffet first. We should have done what she said.

Omg! What a blemish on the Grand Canyon Railway and Hotel. We had such an amazing experience during our entire trip, until we ate here. I can honestly say it is the single worst buffet I've ever visited. It was crowded and they basically ran out of food. I paid $60 for a small salad and scraps. The made to order pasta, that I waited in line for 20 minutes to get, was so bad I couldn't even eat two spoonfuls. Skip this place! Walk the extra block to somewhere on Route 66. This place should be condemned.

I agree with another reviewer, this place was probably real good at one time but is just fair now. Maybe it's toward the end of the season. I stopped in for the dinner buffet. For me and my son it would've been almost $50. At the host's recommendation, I checked it out first and decided the offerings weren't enough and what they had looked cheap. I thought I'd try again for the bfast buffet. Not much different. The fruit definitely came from a can, not a lot of fresh food. Having said that, the hotel, the train, the gift shops and even the restaurant setting were all top notch. This is a quality attraction with tourists in mind.

While staying at the Grand Canyon Railway & Hotel, and waiting for our train ride the first day, the easiest choice for breakfast was to just stay close. The Fred Harvey is just across the courtyard, and right next to the train depot. They have a breakfast buffet, that also offers an omelette station...again, an easy choice. The buffet was good, not great. Eggs were fine, bacon & sausage were good. The sausage gravy was not very good, and the french toast was pretty bad. But overall, it served its' purpose. We made it through breakfast with plenty of time to make the little cowboy show they do before the train ride. The one exception to the food rating, was the service. The service was great. The gentleman who took care of our table did a great job, stopping by several times, making sure our coffee cups were full, and sending us out the door with a to-go cup when we were done.

I'm sad to say we had a terrible experience. We ate at the restaurant on Monday night, September 15, 2025. The facility is beautiful. The staff was fantastic. Unfortunately, shortly after eating there, my husband became violently ill. I had to call the paramedics at midnight. They said his symptoms suggested food poisoning. We decided not to transport him to the hospital. Instead we agreed that if he got worse after a few hours, I'd call them back. He didn't get worse, but he's still struggling to fully recover a day and a half later. We filled out the requested reports and hopefully changes will be made to fix the problem. We're not sure, but it might have been the Caesar dressing.

It s interesting because there were quite a few complaints about carving station not being open and substandard food. Not our experience at all. We had a party of 6, service was great, the variety of food was fabulous however I made the mistake of making my selections before realizing there was a build your own pasta station. The carving station had all temperatures of steak that was seasoned to perfection. Their white mac and cheese was delicious and the variety of sides were plentiful. There appeared to be only an ice cream station for dessert but that wasn t the case, your server had a choice of pies, and cakes and gladly brought them over warmed and drizzled with your personal selection. We also had breakfast there the following morning and once again the variety was great including eggs benedict, omelet stations, cereals, oats fresh fruit with sides of potatoes, tots, bacon, ham, yummy link sausage and petite pastries. Now if you have a problem with buffets there is probably nothing that will make you happy but I can honestly say if you don t leave there satisfied and full that s your own fault. Food and service was A+

Folks... 2.5 stars on the opening page for this establishment is more than accurate. But, if you're hungry and tired, it'll do.

Very expensive meal. It was a buffet. The salad portion was very good. The hot foods were not. Many were cold. There was no carving station and the vegetables had no flavor (one was supposed to be lemon butter and another garlic butter). Most hot foods did not taste as though they were made onsite - perhaps made from frozen? Probably won't return.

The employees are nice but the food is absolutely horrible! They're short staffed so there's that. But I can't explain how terrible, canned and tasteless the food is. We got a package so we had to eat here but save your money. It's extremely expensive for reheated TV foods. They play live music which is nice. Very talented. I can't stress it enough. Disgusting.

I surprised my better half with tickets on the Polar Express package. As part of the package, they toss in Dinner coupons and breakfast coupons the next day at this restaurant on-site. I sort of half-expected the restaurant was going to be a roll of the dice. On one hand, have you see the sheer volume of people boarding the Polar Express train. It is jam-packed. You need to feed all of these people inexpensively, efficiently and at minimal margin. That isn't going to equate to a 5-star dining experience. It simply isn't. Of course, they use powdered eggs and buy mass food in bulk. You can't tell me you're naive enough to believe you're getting USDA Prime Grass-Fed Beef and free range chicken eggs. Don't be silly. On the other hand, since I half-expected this, I knew my wife and her gluten allergy would not be well received at this restaurant. We walked down to Route 66 and had dinner elsewhere. Yes, it was part of the "package", but did not want my wife suffer. After perusing the dinner buffet, there was essentially nothing for her to eat except the wilted salad that appeared quite sad. I am hoping the quality of the restaurant improves significantly despite the plausible cost increase. Hoping the 2-star reviews on Yelp are analyzed by management and they act, accordingly.

Came here for the dinner buffet and the breakfast buffet during our stay for the Polar Express & Bearizona. The food at each buffet was delicious and offered a wide variety of items to choose from. The staff is very nice and accommodating. Loved seeing this place all decorated for Christmas and thought the train overhead was really cool! There is also a gift shop for your souvenir buying pleasure.

If I could I would give a negative rating. Just to much garbage quality food and that includes the bagel that they didn't make

This was, by far, the worst buffet I've ever been to. Don't waist your money. Good side, staff was super nice and friendly.

We decided to come here last minute for some dinner and while they options at the buffet are very limited, the staff here make up for it. Our server Christy was amazing! She was very attentive to us and was overall very welcoming. The man who makes the pasta, I believe his name is Geoffrey, is so welcoming as well. He told us his experiences and about his recipes. Marinara pasta is so yummy and so is the Alfredo. Lastly, the chocolate cake dessert was exquisite. 10/10! Only wish they had more food options

A huge Buffet of truly mediocre quality. There are lots of choices, and at dinner, even a pasta station, which becomes an omelette station at breakfast. Both the dinner buffet, and the breakfast buffet have plenty to choose from, but nothing is really very good. If you come here, be sure to Google, the history of Fred Harvey. He is a truly fascinating story, and it is worth eating here, simply for the historical significance of the restaurant.

My group of 5 Adults & 2 kids ate the breakfast & dinner buffets on Dec. 18 & 19, 2023. We liked our friendly & efficient servers. The food items were diverse & tasty. Breakfast items included omelets, scrambled eggs, sunny side up eggs, cereal, donuts, oatmeal, fruit, multiple juices, coffee, bagels, bacon, sausage, chocolate chip pancakes, etc. Dinner items included high quality prime rib, fresh turkey slices, various salads, carrots, green beans, mashed potatoes, stuffing, rice, fried fish fillets, chicken nuggets (same type as McDonald's), French fries, fruit, various cakes & drinks (sodas, milk, juices, etc.), soft serve ice cream, etc. The restaurant is large, clean, & family oriented. We enjoyed the toy train that traveled around the restaurant near the ceiling. We look forward to returning.

We dined at this restaurant twice during our stay for the Polar Express (1/30 & 1/31/20). The location was extremely convenient, directly adjacent to the Grand Canyon Railway Hotel. This is also right by where we departed for the Polar Express. We had dinner prior to our train ride and breakfast on our way out the following morning. The first thing I noticed was that we entered through a gift shop. First time I've ever walked through one prior to our event as opposed to the end. We were seated and greeted by a server very quickly. Very spacious inside and room enough to be a part from others during COVID. The food options were pretty good considering it was buffet. Both breakfast and dinner options. It wasn't a top notch Las Vegas buffet but it also wasn't a Golden Corral. It price of the buffets were rolled into our whole package for the Polar Express and I think it was well worth the value.

The ambience was very, very nice and clean. There are booth and tables beautiful stone walls, and the buffet was new shiny like a railroad car. The live music was excellent very soothing and wonderful to eat by the experience was quite enjoyable the carpets assisted in making the restaurant a wonderful place to have a conversation over your meal. The service was courteous and attentive. The food reminded me of a Midwestern supper club on the bland side, but covering all the bases they have a pasta bar, a salad bar, different meats, and sides. I had chocolate cake for dessert and it did not disappoint. All in all I had a very nice meal.

Food was great. Dinner was carved beef tenderloin. Included pork loin. Shrimp and a pasta prepared to order. Nicely garnished and tasty desserts from the kitchen. Breakfast had a terrific variety and was also hot and tasty.

The waitress did her job well, and we enjoyed the live music, but after reading about and hearing from several people on the train trip to the Grand Canyon about how good this restaurant was, we decided to stop in after our trip to the Grand Canyon. The buffet had few choices, none of which were listed on the table advertisement that I read when we sat down. The items listed on the advertisement lead me to think I would have a choice of asparagus or cauliflower with specifics that made both vegetables sound amazing instead the buffet had baby carrots. The salad bar was fresh, but uninspiring, and limited salad dressings, the beef entree was tasty, but for the price of the buffet, the carver should have been offering significantly larger portions and I shouldn't have had to ask for an jus. The highlight of the meal was the fresh pasta bar, I could definitely understand why the young lady working the station was so busy. The cheesecake with raspberry sauce was a disappointment, for this supposedly upscale Buffet should have had fresh raspberry sauce, not the chemical red syrup the placed on it. As my husband said when we left " should have saved our money and gone to Golden Corral . Some people have this buffet included in their hotel fee, but if you are going to pay the $27 + per person save your money and go somewhere else.
