This location offers great food and brews. We tried their black and blue salad and chicken wrap. Both of this were so good and paired well with their brews. They also offer wine, kids menu, dessert which we tried their chocolate chip pecan pie and if you don't mind your diabetes flairing up try this bad boy absolutely decadent. Overall a great experience.

I went in hoping for good food and cold beer and I was not disappointed. Ordered: 1. Bottle Caps - spicy & perfect 2. Artichoke dip - cheesy & hot 3. Scotch egg - I'd eat 5 if I could 4. Blue salad - fresh and light 5. Sausage sampler - a lot of food! 6. Wings over Germany - spicy! Very good 7. Beer flight - all great except the Hefe, I didn't like it There were a lot of people but it didn't feel crowded. Excellent experience.

Fredericksburg Brewing Company is a longtime staple in the heart of Main Street—and it’s easy to see why! The German decor inside and out adds to the charm, and the staff was super friendly and welcoming. We stopped in for one of their sourdough pretzels and were so impressed. They offer both sweet and savory options, and since they’re made from sourdough, they’re a great choice for vegans or anyone with lactose intolerance. (Hard to find in a pretzel!) Whether you’re there for a full meal, a cold beer, or just a quick snack, this place has something for everyone. If you’re visiting Fredericksburg, especially for the German vibes, you should definitely make time to stop by for a pretzel—and maybe a pint!

Google
We stopped in here the other day for a beer and an appetizer. We were greeted at the door and invited to sit at the bar which we did. Sitting at the bar would be much more pleasant if it weren’t for the downdraft of the air conditioning unit that dumps cold air on every other seat at the bar. The beers were decent and the food was served quickly. The bartender was absent and seemed to have other things going on so I gave a lower score for service, he never checked back with us after delivering our food to see how it was or see if we needed anything.

Our favorite stop on Main Street! The Red and Not So Dumb Blonde were a hit. The pretzel was insane! Service: spectacular, value and ambiance: incredible, location: ideal. We took home 4 growlers to Austin and they were flat, but we didn’t care. You might want to just enjoy their smooth beer there.

Google
Very nice place. Quick seating and service. I ordered the flight to sample all 8 beers. It did not disappoint. They were all great! We all ordered food and it was delicious. I would highly recommend this brewery for a good time with awesome beers and food

Google
Great food and service! I normally don't order chicken fried chicken, and this was so good and not heavy. The German potatoe salad was very delicious and had great flavor. Blonde and Red Ale beers were definitely good and perfect with my food!

Google
Loved the food, was quickly seated for lunch, food was very tasty and very friendly server. The brewery vibe was great! The peach Cobbler and Apple Strudel were scrumptious!

Yelp
The beer is really good, we got a flight of generous pours which allowed us to try all their beers. The pretzel was disappointing, just a generic Super Pretzel brand; I expected a homemade.... That was a previous review from 2023.... We have since returned. The sausage plate was really good, hubbys fave was the brat and mine the jalapeno sausage. We split the jagerschnnitzel which was really good. Entrees came with a roll that was two kinds of bread, light and dark, pretty good. Not the best restaurant but solid food and open later than most.

Yelp
First time here and when we entered we were greeted and seated. We had not the best impression for first time dining because we were seated but no one came to take our drinks or food order. We waited for a while until a waitress came and then told us, " i don't know where your waitress is because she is no where to be found so i am going to step in to help. What drinks would you like?" We ordered for 2 waters and a honey cream ale. That waitress left and then a while later our waitress that we never met came with waters and put it on our table and told us one moment and walk away. We were baffled because there was like only 3 other tables (including us) that is seated. Our waitress didn't seem happy and then after a while later came back to take our order. We had ordered: 0/5 stars: the artichoke dip it was all cream and lacked salt and flavor. It just taste like cream of mushroom consistency and bland. It wasn't cheesy and just cream. The tortilla chips were not fresh and stale. 0/5: sausage sampler the grey sausage was uneatable. It was dry and just didn't taste good like it was bad. The pepperwurst texture was not bonded together and was way off. One of the sausage was ok but it wasn't anything special. Our order of sides were wrong. The side of sauerkraut was very salty and acidic. The red cabbage was super sweet. 0/5 JAGER SCHNITZEL the pork was dry and under seasoned. I felt ill after having a couple of bites of my meal and stopped. The German potato salad was bland and unappetizing. The potato tasted like it was from a can. Onion rings were drenched in oil and super greasy. Under seasoned as well. 0/5: peach cobbler: we were excited anout the peach cobbler since Fredericksburg was known for their peaches but we received raw pie dough that wasn't entirely cooked. It tasted like raw flour and the strangest thing is the vanilla ice cream doesn't taste like normal vanilla ice cream. It's not sweet and bland. I have no idea how that can be possible. 4/5: honey cream ale - this was the only item we enjoyed. Hint of honey and it was smooth. Do I recommend this place? Maybe just go for the beers. The service and food is not recommended unless you prefer bland food and a tummy ache.

Yelp
Pretty cool German themed brewery right on Main Street. We went for lunch as a large party and had a decent experience. Service and food was just okay. Beer was solid. I got the bratwurst sandwich with German potato salad. Brat to Swiss cheese to bread ratio was kinda off but it still tasted decent.

Yelp
Food gets a "5". Pepper sausage was incredible as was the pretzel and bun that came with the sausage. Great mustard and cheese sauce for dipping as well. We sat at the bar and the bartender was an absolute miserable man trying to be a tough guy. It was two in the afternoon and we were on vacation just stopping for a beer and apps. This man wouldn't have a job if it weren't for people like us so maybe the entire business industry in town should think about that. Wouldn't return.

Yelp
The food variety it what brought us back...and the GD first encounter some new food...Service was a little lackluster, especially at the end...waiting 15 minutes just for the check to show up...never returned to see how the food was after being dropped off..The flight of beers are always a hit for the wife and I...started with the pretzel...alway a crowd favorite...Also rolled with a knackwurst with sauerkraut, bread and Mustard...alone the GD tried the kraust...not a huge fan...but with bread, wurst, kraut and a tad of mustard...she was a fan..and went in for seconds.. Wife and GD went with the Chicken Fried Steak...Huge portion...GD double Fries, wife Fries and Carrots...Carrots were a complete dud...hot held, so they were dry and had a skin and unevenly cooked thru out...Jagerschnitzel on my end was pretty good...great crust...gravy was good...GD agreed with both...another first for her...Potato salad was great...spicy green beans were just mush..flavor good...texture not there...still filled us up, but will be seeking out other venues in the future FB visits.

Yelp
Friendly service in a well air-conditioned space. Skip the pizza, or ask for sauce at least. Stay for the beer (enchanted rock red ale) and pretzels.

Andy L.

Yelp
I usually find restaurants are overrated on yelp, but this one is the opposite. Sure this is not a Michelin star restaurant but the food was not bad at all. We ordered the sausage sampler. Not only the different wurst are good, the fries and onion ring are fresh. The best part ia that you can sample different beers for $2 a small glass and you can build your own flight. What's not to love? Service was passable but definitely no issue whatsoever.

Yelp
A stop in Fredericksburg usually means enjoying the shops, having some coffee with delicious German dessert, and enjoying some German food. So this is exactly the intent when going to Fredericksburg Brewery. Fredericksburg brewery brews its own craft beer, has a beergarten and also a bed-and-breakfast. For this visit, luckily, it wasn't very full. I ordered their Wurst Sandwich, which is a choice of sausage in a toasted hoagie with Swiss cheese and sauerkraut and a side. It was pretty good, and at $12, an ok price. The other person in my group ordered a club sandwich which came with a side of fries. The service was good but not extraordinary. The place has a very comfortable feel and they brew their own beer, so it certainly worth a visit.

Yelp
The brewery had a great atmosphere, happy servers and yummmmy food! We had the scotch egg appetizer, Schinken Schnitzel with German potato salad. Yummo! We also tried the fish tacos and sweet potato fries. A lot of food. Everything was delicious! But, be prepared, both meals were huge! So much food!
google avatar

Julie Z.

Yelp
Tasty food that was reasonably priced. The servers were lovely and the place had a great vibe. My friend and I shared a burger and fries that was huge!

Yelp
Fredericksburg Brewing is a great place to visit if you're looking for a German experience in Texas. We didn't get a chance to try the food but the dining hall part of the brewery was very busy when we visited so I'm sure that's a testimony to their food. The beer we tried was very great and there were plenty of places to sit in their bar portion of the establishment. There were also a couple of games to play while having a drink which is always fun. Giving the 4 stars cause there wasn't any music playing while we were there and I think that would have just amplified the experience and ambiance.
google avatar

John B.

Yelp
One of the busy places to grab a beverage and a small bite. It is the home of some very tasty craft beer - the red and the blonde were very good. Service was outstanding- and our small bite of choice was the pretzel. I was pleasantly surprised with the preparation- fresh and not overly bready. The dipping sauces were standard fare. I sat at the bar - nice spacing. The place was busy but still had a good vibe. It is on my list to hit at least once every time I am in town.

Yelp
This place is a must try visiting Fredericksburg. Start with a pint of their great craft beer paired with the Scotch Egg. There are several German inspired selections personally the Bratzwurst plate offers a variety of flavors from sour, bitter, savory, and sweet. The coleslaw is amazing as well as all the mustard dips.

Yelp
Had the schnitzel and Rueben sandwich. Both were good, but nothing exceptional. The sauerkraut was probably some of the best that I've ever had!! We each had a couple of their beers, and they were good. We sat at the bar top, and although it was busy, the service was efficient, but not very friendly.
google avatar

Ruth C.

Yelp
Maybe we hit this on an off day... Service was slow at best, and it wasn't busy at all. Food was just ok.... we shared the chicken fried sandwich. It was big enough for two of us and sides were plentiful. But the sandwich was just kind of bland. Beer was good but could have been a bit colder. We probably wouldn't stop here again.
google avatar

Yelp
Came in here on our last day in Fredrickburg... plenty of seating , plenty of beer and food options. We opted for the sausage sampler with a side of sour kraut and mashed potatees with brown gravy . Also with the blue cheese salad. The sausages were fantastic, the sour kraut was warm and delicious! And the gravy was outstanding! I had the Oktoberfest beer and it was the best Oktoberfest I've ever had... I will definitely be back whenever in town.
google avatar

Jennifer H.

Yelp
Fun place with good German food and great beer. We got a flight. Be prepared it includes EVERY single beer they make- all 8! It was the biggest flight I have ever had. Food was good the service was slow and ok.
google avatar

Tia S.

Yelp
Stumbled in here for lunch in Fredericksburg. It's conveniently located on the corner on Main Street. It is a lot bigger than it looks from the outside. We were seated immediately in the dining room. There is also plenty of bar seating and more picnic style seating in the biergarten. We ordered a spread of appetizers - egg rolls, chicken wings spinach dip and a bowl of chili. Everything was tasty. The chili was a lil heavy on the meat for me, but was flavorful and the Cornbread it comes with was really good. Customer service was friendly and quicker than I would've expected for a Saturday afternoon. I would definitely return to indulge in entrees next time.
google avatar

Eric F.

Yelp
Wow, this place is good for locals and tourists too. Sausage sampler, and a flight of beer samples is a good combination. Service was excellent and offered us a wealth of information on the sampler's. Atmosphere is Biergarten theme, and late 19th century.
google avatar

Denise A.

Yelp
Wanted some beer and pizza decided to try out this place. Really enjoyed the flight of beer, but the pizza was not to our liking, but it might be to somebody else I would recommend it. Service was good restaurant was very clean.
google avatar

Sam A.

Yelp
Food is 3.5 stars, service is 1.5 stars. We had to chase down Jovana to order and she had no follow up till bringing us the check. The Chicken Club was not made plain as we asked. Coke products served in can, no refills, at a brewey? Onion Rings too greasy should have been fried at higher temp. Sausage Sampler plenty for two or a good appitiser. Welcome host was extreamly friendly. Located downtown on south side of Main street. Street parking can be a bit tough when busy. Lots of air movement. Nice restrooms. Not Beer drinkers so no feedback on product. They need some simple drink food items on menu. They also need to tweek for great table service. I guess if you drink you will not notice.
google avatar

Jasmine P.

Yelp
Service was quick and friendly. One of the best schnitzels of my life! I had the one with ham and cheese and a mustardy brown gravy. I love the little bread rolls. Sides were all very good but I wasn't super impressed with the potato salad. We had a flight of beer which were all very tasty. Overall a great experience!
google avatar

George S.

Yelp
Although they were jampacked with visitors on the weekend, the service was really good. We enjoyed some nice German food and a flight of beer. Highly recommend getting the flight if you're not sure what exactly you're in the mood for, but we found all their beers to be really good. Although it's a bit loud, it's not bad at all so you can have a conversation at your table.
google avatar

Eydie R.

Yelp
Beer, food and wine were very good. The staff was nice and polite. The place has a real homey, casual vibe to it even though it was lots of diners, the food came out very quickly and hot. Definitely would recommend trying it.
google avatar

Erin N.

Yelp
Small beer selection, didn't quite like anything I had enough for a second glass. The food was mediocre at best. Atmosphere was cute but doesn't make up for the rest. Will not return.
google avatar

David S.

Yelp
Good fast service! Fun interior and further back the beer garden. Good beer (we had the blond ale) and munched on fries and a pretzel. Pretzel was just what I wanted. Soft not too chewy. Nice place for a refresher.

Gilbert B.

Yelp
Great server. Gaylon. She helped with menu decisions. Food and drink was outstanding but service made the evening. Thank you Gaylon

Yelp
My wife and I are staying in Fredericksburg for the weekend and decided to pop in to Fredericksburg Brewing for dinner. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the beer selection. For just $14, I indulged in a flight of seven generously sized pours, a fantastic opportunity to sample their array of brews. The Red Ale and the Porter stood out as my personal favorites, each offering a unique and satisfying taste. While the food was generally satisfactory, it had its highs and lows. We opted for the chicken fried steak accompanied by French fries and German potato salad, alongside a Reuben sandwich. Unfortunately, the Reuben didn't quite hit the mark for me. The bread was dense and lacked flavor, which was a bit of a letdown, especially considering the better alternatives available within a short walk. However, the chicken fried steak was a pleasant surprise. It was well-prepared, and my only minor critique would be a preference for warmer gravy. The true gem of our meal was the German Potato Salad--it stole the show with its impeccable flavor, and I would argue it was the best dish we tasted. The service was top notch, with a good knowledge of the menu and the beer. Overall, Fredericksburg Brewing offers a cozy and affordable dining experience on Main Street, with its beer selection being the standout feature. Despite some aspects of the food not quite reaching the same heights, the German Potato Salad and the inviting atmosphere make it a place worth visiting.

Aida P.

Yelp
I thoroughly enjoyed the Reuben sandwich and German potato salad. My husband liked the Philly cheesesteak and fries. Our friend had the schnitzel. He said it was very good. Our waitress was amazing. She checked on us constantly. There was a huge party of 60 people, and she made sure that we got our order in before them. I gave it four stars because the of the price of our bottle of wine. The bottle cost $14 in the store and it cost $40 in the restaurant.

Jeffrey M.

Yelp
It's good, no place to sit. I want a bar stool. Might as well just order on the street

Cathy C.

Yelp
I'm only reviewing the pizza that I had. I was with a party of 8. I didn't like the pizza. Seemed like it was a frozen crust and way too much provolone cheese. Lots of items on the menu. If I returned I would try something different.
google avatar

Victor E.

Yelp
I'm not going to waste many words on this: everything is mediocre or worse. Rueben with bad meat, uninspired salad; nothing is worth mentioning, and the service is slow.
google avatar

Judy A.

Yelp
It is usually a must stop. Today may be my last stop. The cheeseburger was bland; the jalapeño cheddar bun did not help it out. The beer was a little off too. It could just be an off day, but there was not much of a crowd either. The service was still good, but the food and drink were meh.
google avatar

Anj L.

Yelp
We visited Fredericksburg the weekend after Thanksgiving, so it was packed. I was definitely ready to sit down and enjoy some German brews! My husband ordered the IPA and I started with a flight of beers. I am a true fan of Hefeweizen, so the waiter recommended to add the Honey Cream and the Red Rock Ale. They were all good, but I stuck with the "El Hefe." We both ordered the Portobello mushroom sandwich with a side of fries for the hubby and side salad for me. Wow- the sandwich was incredible!! Nice, melty cheese and all of the typical burger toppings. The side salad was quite large, so I was completely satisfied. Fantastic service with delicious food and German beer!
google avatar

Lorena R.

Yelp
We were parched & famished! It was a cold and rainy day, we walked in asked for a table near the fireplace and were quickly seated. The place has a warm and casual ambiance. The service was great! You can sample beer, but it's $2 per sample. We shared the bottle caps appetizer and had the entree that was 3 sausages. (Don't recall the name). The bottle caps: served freshly fried and very crispy as well as nice and spicy. The entree: The 3 sausages were all so different, but good in their own way... I can't even explain the variety of flavor! It came with 2 sides, we chose the cajun green beans and onion beans. The green beans were full of flavor with the perfect amount of spice and cooked perfectly. The onion rings had a beer batter coating and were nice and crispy. The servings were plentiful. We shared the entree and were both full at the end of the meal. The beer: the beer was served nice a cold and tasted as described on the menu. Very enjoyable flavor experience. This place is located in the main tourist area, and has plenty of seating and a nice variety of foods to choose from. Stop in to enjoy a cold drink & a hot meal

Yelp
This kitchen has been on the decline over the years and today was the last straw. Their "famous" Oma's meatloaf was such a failure.. Flavors of pork and beef wasn't blended. It is very obvious that the whole thing was slapped together in a hurry, not caring for even mixture and wasn't allowed to rest long enough for flavors to blend. Moreover, the sauce has simply become slinging a spoon of industrial tomato paste mix from a can. You can actually taste the canned tomato paste... What happened beer blended spices with proper tomato sauce.... Completely pretentious and commercial.... We are done coming here after 20+ years of patronage
google avatar

Rebecca G.

Yelp
Hubs wanted to try this place out. I'm not a huge beer drinker, but I do like to taste local breweries when we travel. Their honey cream ale was delicious! Hubs got the not so dumb blonde. He had 3, so I think he loved it.
google avatar

Lisa R.

Yelp
The wurst was overcooked..the sauerkraut tasted like it came from a can..the jagerschnitzel was rubbery..and the green beans did not taste good. Hubby liked the beer, tho. We won't eat there again. Staff was nice.

Schmidt C.

Yelp
We were in town being tourists and they were out of their top two selling beers. El Hefe and Honey Cream Ale. Had the Kolsch must be a Texas version different than what we are used to.
google avatar

Felipe G.

Yelp
The wait time is bad every though there were 6 open tables we were told it would be a 30 min wait so we stepped out and called and was told over the phone that they did have tables open for 2 literally 2 min after stepping out, so when I walked back I. And asked for a table for 2 I was told it would be 30 min again and when I said I just called they just smiled and said oh you were the one on the phone and low and behold they had a table now. I ordered and chicken fried chicken and it was bland and small portion and the fries and onion rings where very soggy. They buffalo wings where bad and that's hard to mess up the sauce was nasty. Will probably never eat here again please don't waste your money. Over priced and bad food. Maybe people come for the beer IDK .
google avatar

Hanna D.

Yelp
Beer and service here is 5 stars. Friendly service, attentive staff, and great vibes for beer. The back area is for beer only, which I have visited on a few occasions. Had their food for the first time the other day and it was rather disappointing. My fiancé got a burger and I had the Fried Fish. We also got bread pudding for desert. The portions are huge. The burger was okay but the fish was where it was wrong. There were 3 pieces of fish on there. One was cooked right. One still had wet batter on it, which was raw. And the other one fell apart as you pick up, so you're left with the fish part but not the fried part. I only ate the one that was fried right, and a whole lotta fries. The bread pudding sounded amazing but was sooo dry. Overall, they have good beer, good atmosphere, and good staff.. but I'll pass on the food next time.
google avatar

Phuong C.

Yelp
This was a first time @ the Fredericksburg Brewing. Our party didn't choose this place for the beer, but for the less waiting time on a Saturday afternoon when everything was full and we were starving after a hike up the Enchanted Rock. There were plenty of food choices. The kids were happy with their options and choices. The Small Pints(kids) menu servings were plenty. From the German Specialty menu, I chose something that would take me back to those days in Germany. And the wiener snitzel was a great option. Though, I would suggest to chose 2 different sides. The red cabbage (more sour than preferable) and potato salad(was disappointingly not even close to what I remembered tasting). Oh and it comes with a roll&butter too. More than plenty for a meal. The interior looked pretty cool too.

Robert M.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place, however things went downhill from the get go. Upon telling the hostess we had a party of 8, she rolled her eyes and upsettingly went to check on where she could seat our party. It was as if the size of our party was an inconvenience for her. Asides from the pretzel, the food was disappointing. In fact the pretzel is the only reason this isn't a 1 star review. We ordered a variety of foods and they were all dry or overcooked.

Hannah H.

Yelp
bland. that's the word that i can use to sum up my experience for this restaurant. for an appetizer, i ordered a pretzel--bland. the cheese was the only thing saving it, and even then, it wasn't even fully melted. for my dinner, i ordered the chicken fried chicken with a side of fruit and salad--bland. the only thing saving me from starvation was the salad. since the salad was the only thing that had flavor, i asked the waiter for an extra side of ranch. tell me why they came back with a side of BREAD. how do you hear bread from ranch? god bless her
google avatar

Deborah M.

Yelp
I have nothing but good things to say about the food here. I've been here twice in the last few weeks. The service is top notch and the food comes quickly, hot and delicious. The portions are large and one meal is really enough food for two people. The place is clean and open. Very casual atmosphere. Parking is on the street and can be difficult to find, but that's not their fault. I got the Reuben and beer battered fries, husband got the schnitzel with ham/cheese on top of it and sides of German potato salad and red cabbage. We came back a week later with family and the tried more dishes including burgers, pizza, fish tacos and catfish. Everything was amazing both times.

Yelp
My family vacations in Fredericksburg about three times a year and Fredericksburg Brewing Co is a must stop at least once (but usually more). Not only is the good always perfect, but no matter how much the staff changes, the service is always the same. Attentive, kind, and helpful. There are so many places to eat in Fredericksburg, but if you want a laid back meal that you will truly enjoy...this is the place.
google avatar

Kelly B.

Yelp
The hubs and I took a day trip to Fredricksburg (TX) because we were bored. Fredericksburg is a cute little touristy town in the hill country of central Texas. They have a ton of wineries, but we're talking about Fredericksburg Brewing here. FB is one of our favorite casual places to go. They have a large menu and then of course they have a large selection of craft beer. We've never tried any of beer. We wouldn't know what kinda to get. I for one like a dressed up Dos Equis. :) The atmosphere is good, the food is good and the staff is good. Bring your family and friends and have fun!

Yelp
So I came here with a friend today. The staff was very friendly and the lady at the front that sat us was funny and had really good energy. Despite the place being busy, we were seated very quickly. The only complaint is that we sat at a small table in the back and wasn't exactly a stable table. We ordered mozzarella cheese (triangles) and fries as appetizers, which were pretty good. I think I like the mozzarella cheese better than the fries though. I ordered a basic burger that wasn't that bad, really. I did like the fries and the random sweet potato fries I received. I think if I come back I'll order it with jalapeños to give it some spice to it but you can basically add whatever you want to the burger and gave a few options on the buns you wanted. My friend had a personal pizza made, which was burnt, but he enjoyed it anyway. We had some beers that was also good. I think I would try more of the beers more next time I come into town, but overall, I had a good experience.

Yelp
I wanted some German-style beer and food. I asked Google and Yelp. It was hard to pick up one. I walked around Main street. I checked a couple of the restaurants. Fredericksburg brewing looked like the most friendly. I entered the inside. The servers escorted me to a table. I got beer. It was so good. I ordered a schnitzel. The schnitzel resembled Texas chicken steak. Probably, the chicken steak is some variant of schnitzel. Anyway, It was good. The server asked me for one more beer. I ordered it. I was drunk. I was walking to my hotel. I found some street signs that said " Pearl Harbor Memorial Highway". The name was a hangover medicine to a Japanese guy. I became sober.LOL. If you are looking for some German food, please check this restaurant.
