Fred's Cafe

Asked for a white coffee was strong and bitter taste 😩even though there was a small Jug of milk. A white coffee should be made with milk 😊. went to Fred’s another day ask for an Omelette. The egg or (eggs ) was beaten properly so omelette didn’t look right. and it tasted vile think it was fried in oil ? When it should be cooked in butter. It also had black bits on it where something had been cooked in the same pan ? People are paying good money at this Cafe. The staff are not cooks and I think Fred needs to address this and also employ another member of staff to clear the tables . It was a nightmare in your cafe today to much talking from your staff and not focusing on there job as cooks . Also they need to learn how to to cook Jacket potatoes 🥔? not serve one that is raw and not cooked properly. Also notice your menu for sandwiches 🥪 customers should have a choice of White / brown bread and also ask if they would like a side salad ? Your Cafe has gone down hill and needs improving . If you want custom 😊I have worked in kitchens in schools and Restaurants. and never seen such poor service😞

Friendly and polite staff. The food was great but I found the service a little slow from start to finish, this wasn't really that much of an issue but maybe they can get customers in and out quicker if they had another staff member helping rather than one doing everything. Overall I would return here

Honest English cafe, run by some lovely staff. Good simple food, well cooked, unpretentious. Highly recommended if visiting Frinton. Ignore the snooty swanky bars and 'boutique' cafes - go here!

A little gem in Frinton... always a great welcome from hard working staff. Lovely place to chill outside in the sunshine on a Sunday morning with a nice breakfast. Thank you all. We will come back again soon.

Overall enjoyable breakfast. Didn't like cheap catering sausages. Crockery especially cups need seriously replacing as on finishing drinks they were badly stained & had old tea/coffee stain rings around them. Also this cafe has no toilet facilities

I'm really disappointed with my recent experience at the cafe . I ordered a ham sandwich and noticed it had a slightly slimy texture and tasted weird, but I thought it may have just been the butter, so i didn't want to be rude and ate it. Soon after eating it, i ended up with food poisoning. Food safety should be a top priority, and the fact that I contracted food poising is seriously worrying. I have read other reviews on here since and noticed there have been similar comments . I am concerned that this still hasn't been addressed - AVOID

Upon arriving we were met by a very rude staff saying closed!! (2pm when web says closes at 3pm) We have been going to freds for a number of years. Over the last year we have seen a decline in this place going down rapidly. Food standards also has declined and staff attitude is bad. As a result of being turned away today we found a lovely place a few doors down( keto bite) with a much higher staff attitude and food standards are very high. I really can't see myself ever going back to freds.
