"Coming down with a case of the end-of-summer blues? So, we assume, is everyone at Fred's Dog House, a country-looking bar in Williamsburg with live music, cold beer, and plant-based hot dogs—like a Banh Mi Dog with cucumber, carrots and cilantro. They've got different performers playing in the artistically scuffed-up looking space almost every night, so check their Instagram for event information. " - will hartman

Almost didn’t want to share this place! It’s pretty new and they serve plant based hot dogs. They were so tasty and I ordered the bahn mi one and also the cheese dog and filled me up pretty well! The bartender Manta is so kind! He let me and my friend charge our phones for a bit and made some conversation with us before the bar got busy! The music is also amazing! I didn’t realize how much I love listening to live blues. Didn’t catch the name of the musician but he was multi tasking several instruments. I LOVE the vintage feeling of the place it has so much charm to it! I would recommend putting a hook in the bathroom for purses because I couldn’t find one and almost dropped my bag in the toilet lol! Also same with the bar area if sitting there I would like a hook for my bag :) Please keep this place VEGAN and I’ll come here every day! It’s so hard to find nice bars with only vegan options! We don’t want things to cross contaminate. If people want regular hot dogs with beef they should go to the hot dog stands in NYC. Please keep this place special and vegan 💖💖

Chill place to meet for drinks and a quick bite, or catch some live music. The menu is all animal-free hotdogs, all priced reasonably at $7 each. These are creative upgrades on the standard dead animal street food, and definitely worth a try. I got the Chicago hotdog and Banh Mi hotdog, both very tasty with the latter really ramping it up in the flavour department. Highly recommend the Banh Mi hotdog! Service was friendly and quick too. For those wondering why anyone who doesn’t want to eat animals would want food made to resemble the animal version, we like the taste but not the violence. Check out the documentary watchdominion.org for more insight into the matter.

Stopped in randomly for a beer because I was in the area early for a dinner reservation a few doors down. Liked the vibes so much I brought the whole crew back after dinner for some music and drinks. As someone who grew up in a blues town, this place made me nostalgic simultaneously for the old blues bars I grew up in and for the Brooklyn I moved to 20 years ago. Bravo to the owner. A new favorite for me.

This place has the good energy that you used to be able to find in a lot of Williamsburg spots, but now has become rare (especially for new businesses). I came in early and had a strawberry drink and some vegan dogs, all of which were delicious, but I’m planning to return to check out the life music and try the other fun hot dog flavors.

Stumbled into this atmospheric spot one evening and was transported into a relaxing experience. Great for a casual date, intimate and dim and just a touch of Frontierland. Casual and easygoing atmosphere. Beautiful bar. Delicious drinks and dogs. Staff super kind and welcoming! Will come again and bring friends!

This place seems to be a bit of a well kept secret still but what an amazing little spot. Great live music and atmosphere. Highly recommend!
