The Legacy of Black Collectivism in the Food Space | Eater

"A cooperative founded by Fannie Lou Hamer that purchased hundreds of acres for members to cultivate and raised pigs to feed thousands of families, serving as a powerful example of how Black-led agricultural and economic cooperatives could create jobs, income, and food security in rural communities even as they drew violent backlash from white supremacists." - Nicole Rufus

I can't say enough great things about Steve and his farm. They offer some of the highest quality meat and eggs in town. It's one of the few local farms that raises animals without corn or soy feed, which really sets them apart. The ribeye is outstanding, and the sage sausage is a personal favorite. Highly recommend supporting this local business, you won’t be disappointed!
