On the Grid : Freedom Tree Design

"More than a decade ago, Freedom Tree ran a cult home store named Takete Maluma. Future forward from the past, we felt it was the right time to bring ‘designed and made in India’ to the forefront again. Latika Khosla, one of the founders of Takete Maluma, now brings the brand afresh to us as FREEDOM TREE. An international trend and Color consultant, she is the founder director of Freedom Tree Design a niche Design Consultancy. Our specialty is Trend and Color Strategies for brands, for manufactured products, branded environments or retail collections. Be sure to find the most edgy global color design and quirky coordination for your home here. Traditional, everyday objects in India underscore our belief in living with good design every day. Around the country, chappati boxes, jars, granary baskets, rolling pins and board, pidis and stools; objects that people still use, are made with loving care by artisans or personalized by the user themselves. Most important, they are objects of everyday living and a representation of the living culture that is home life in India. We work exclusively with Indian artisans and small scale industry and bring an urban sensibility to traditional craft, thus increasing the value earned by them. Freedom Tree has an eclectic “color “ collection of furniture, table ware, textiles, floor coverings, lighting, home fragrances and accessories; all designed by us and made in India -the work of many heads hearts and hands. The spirit is to celebrate modern India; as a vibrant design destination–it is a thumbprint against standardization. Loveable and fun products make everyday living beautiful, celebrating a freedom of expression, freedom of thought and freedom of being. Welcome to the world of good design everyday; constantly evolving and stimulating the freedom to have fun!" - Landor

This was my first time purchasing from freedom tree and couldn't have asked for a better experience. It's a must visit store if you are doing up your home. It's got most beautiful ceramics for dining and furniture that makes your house feels like a home. The store manager is warm and welcoming and she offers great advice.

Freedom Tree is pure joy for homes. Their products are so colorful and cute. My entire family loves the brand and we've got almost all of their categories at our place. Their latest collection of furnishings is just so well put together 💞💞

This is one of my absolute favorite places in Mumbai. Great ceramics, fabrics…great anything décor. Small, happy and quirky place, but I could easily spend one hour there

Visited this friendly neighbourhood home decor & furnishings store today, located off turner road in Bandra. Trust me when I say this, as soon as you enter Freedom Tree's home store, you'll fall in love with its colourful & contemporary attitude and its stunning prints & designs. This is what you would want your home to look like. You'll literally want to shop everything in the store. Their products are just so beautiful. Talked to the store staff as well, Sadaf & Harish both are truly very helpful and understanding of your requirements. Good corona-virus prevention protocols too. Note that masks are compulsory in the store. There is a beauty in how they coordinate prints & colors, and their cushions & bedding sets are just stunning. Love the teak-wood premium furniture as well. But undoubtedly, the best part is their animal-farm inspired home decor such as plant pots, figurines, watering cans, etc.

I recently checked out Freedom Tree's Bandra store and was pleasantly surprised by their collection of women's apparel. The newly launched line had some really unique and trendy pieces that caught my eye. The quality of the fabrics and the stitching was impressive and the prices were reasonable too. I ended up purchasing a super comfortable slit skirt and a breezy top. Also, a printed shirt for my dad. The staff was friendly and helpful, which made for a great shopping experience overall. I'll definitely be heading back to Freedom Tree soon for more goodies!

Update: Jan 24th. After the business owners determined that their site was in error, I got the white glove treatment. They sent me someone to measure the window and custom-make the blind. The product is good and cuts the morning glare like I wanted. My confidence in Freedom Tree's desire to do the right thing is restored. Updated my review from 1* to 4*s. Prior review: One of the absolute worst shopping experiences. Had a credit note from a previous order that didn't work, the associate who was supposed to help me placed the wrong order. Instead of a stitched blind, I got unstitched fabric. Their solution is to offer a 10% discount on another subsequent purchase. Everything here is incredibly overpriced and of mediocre quality. The designs are decent but customer experience is a complete turn off.

Freedom tree is one of my favourite home stores in not just the city but the country. I love the trendy and edgy collection and the icing on the cake is the fantastic staff and amazing customer service. It’s young, vibrant and the designs are unique. Watch out for the one of a kind ceramics and fabrics. I had the smoothest experience with them recently exchanging a chair I bought for my office. The team was warm, understanding and went out of their way to keep me happy. Such wonderful service is a rarity these days. Thank you team Freedom tree for making my spaces so beautiful and always keeping me satisfied. I definitely recommend this brand to everyone :)
