Freed's Dessert Shop

The desserts were very stale. We tried the cupcakes, Dubai brownie, and cookies, and none of them tasted fresh. The whip/icing had an unpleasant flavor—almost like whipped olive oil, which made the desserts hard to enjoy. Overall, very disappointing experience.

Cake was delicious and super cute 🥰 Staff went out of their way to reschedule my pick up when I mixed up the day I needed it scheduled for. I asked for the M in Miss to have a scorpio logo and they did great at including that detail and fit it seamlessly! For the next birthday I end up in Vegas I will definitely order from them again!

This bakery is five stars all day every day. No matter when I go to this location, the quality of the goods and service are excellent, the location is clean and spotless, and I have to restrain myself from buying everything in the case. Freed's did my wedding cake which was phenomenal. I have been a customer ever since.

This location kind of sucks. The treats are yummy, I have visited other Freed's locations in the area, but this location specifically is just not good. When I walked in, there was a girl with multi-colored hair that was on her phone and seemed totally uninterested in assisting customers. Then, a white woman with brown hair and piercings, one of the other employees referred to her as "Clo" or "Chloe", had the worst attitude and seemed to be irritated at just my existence. She seemed annoyed that she had to assist me. Why have a customer service job if you aren't going to provide good customer service? It was disappointing and honestly caused me to not end up purchasing anything. She was totally rude. I honestly would've rather had the girl in the back serve me while actively using her phone. I'd recommend going to any other Freed's location in the area, because they really do have some yummy desserts. Total letdown though. Definitely will not be returning to this location.

This bakery is in the downtown art district and like all the Freed’s Bakeries in the valley are excellent in taste, but at a premium cost. Just look at the photos of what they sell and instantly your mouth waters for some of their sweet treats. However, I just wish their prices weren’t so high and they are not getting any cheaper. This bakery is very small with nowhere to sit down inside, but they do have two tables with chairs out in front, but with no sunshade of any type. The biggest problem we have with this bakery is the location, since there is nothing but metered parking in the area and it can be very difficult at times to find a parking space. That is a major drawback if all you wanted to do was stop for a moment to pick up some delicious treats for the family. Will we continue to shop at Freed’s Bakery? Absolutely, their desserts are too wonderful to ignore even if they come at a price.

We had such a wonderful experience working with Kennedy! From the start, she was attentive, communicative, and incredibly accommodating with our ideas and modifications. She set realistic expectations and absolutely delivered (actually, surpassed them). The presentation of our two cakes were our top priority, and Freed’s nailed it. The design was polished, precise, and visually stunning… exactly what we envisioned and more. It was a true showpiece. While the cake flavor wasn’t the spotlight, it still hit the spot and everyone enjoyed it. We were 120% satisfied and so glad we chose Freed’s to bring our vision to life. Highly recommend! I ordered the cherry hearts cake for my sister’s elopement reception and was very impressed with the quality of the cake and the service I received. My sister was over the moon with the cake- so kitsch, so Vegas and so delicious! Highly recommend!!!

Yessss! We made it to Freed's at the Arts District! Even though we strolled in about a half hour before closing, everyone working there was still nice and patient with us. It's good to have a carb-filled snack every once in a while when you're out barhopping and trying out new drinks and breweries on Main Street. Walking in, OMG. So many delicious treats to choose from! We couldn't decide whether we should get a cake or some cookies. The guy working behind the counter told us that we could mix and match our cookies and get them in the same box, which was helpful for us. So many cookie choices to choose from but we chose three of our own. We ordered a 1/4 lb of the following cookies - chocolate chip cookie, M&M butter cookie, and raspberry cookie for us to share. The M&M butter cookie was legitimately PACKED with M&Ms. I saved the raspberry cookies for Kyle, as he's not a big chocolate person by all means. I wish I had gotten a picture of our cookies, but we had no tolerance and ate them all. That's how amazingly good they were. Don't skip out on Freed's! They always have the good stuff.

During a visit to Vegas, I wanted to order a carrot cake for my cousin's birthday and I read that this bakery had the best. Upon review of the bakery website, I saw a full cake for over $50. Deliver was over $40. Since it was only going to be 2-3 of us, I knew this didn't seem like a wise financial investment. :D However, after clicking the Same-Day/Next Day option, I discovered smaller options of the items I was interested in. Because of the delivery fee, I decided to load the honoree into an Uber to surprise her with a slice of carrot cake at the downtown location. I also purchased several macarons and a slice of keto cheesecake. My cousin loved the carrot cake and caramel macaron. I ate the keto cheesecake which was okay but crumblier than I'd like for a cheesecake. The lemon macaron was delicious. The creme was Sweet so be warned. It was tasty but the sweet outweighed the tart by a mile.

Ordered a custom cake for a 21st birthday party while we were staying in Las Vegas and the service was exceptional! Beautiful and yummy cake, super friendly delivery driver. Highly recommend them! We ordered a heart-shaped chocolate cake with chocolate Parisian whipped cream filling and then for the icing we did 50-50, which is a blend of buttercream and sugar based rosette icing.

After stopping by some other places in the Arts District, some sweets were needed to end the night! Freed's made it easy to enjoy selling by the quarter or half pound. We enjoyed trying all of the shortbread cookies! I love anything with sprinkles and was very happy with their selections. We'll be back for cake next time because the German Chocolate Cake in the display was the most delicious looking German Chocolate Cake I've ever laid my eyes on. The shop has only a small area in the front, so you won't likely be sitting inside the shop. But that's okay as there is ample seating on the outdoor patio which will be awesome in warmer weather. The service was quick!

YUMM! Best place to shop for a single slice of cake when you need something sweet. The service is extremely fast, less than 5 minutes. Best cakes in Las Vegas!

My family and I stopped here on a Thursday night. We made it just in time - about ten minutes before closing. The staff was kind and quick to get our orders together. We ordered a pound of cookies! My family loves the almond cake chocolate cookies. It's a cute little shop set up for take out!

Yelp Review 2024 #21: This is Freed's 4th brick-and-mortar store completing all 4 corners of the valley: Henderson, Summerlin, North Las Vegas, and this Downtown Las Vegas location. If you live in the area, it would make sense to get cakes and other sweet treats here - they don't really have much of a competition when it comes to bakeries that has whole cakes except the small mom and pop shop, Cake World (honestly, they have better cakes than Freed's). What Freed's has going on is familiarity and variety. They've been around for quite some time. And they do have a lot of products - from cookies, cupcakes, cake slices, whole cakes, cannoli, eclairs, cream puffs, and cheesecake. You can get cookies by the quarter, half or a while pound - but they don't classify macarons as cookies. I'm not a fan of their cookies but I've noticed grandmothers love their cookies. Their cakes are ultra sweet. Your teeth would literally hurt. It would take me at least 5 days to finish a cake slice. Dessert is sweet but it shouldn't be this sweet. We've gotten 2 slices of cake: Parisian, and Blackout. Parisian Cake: They describe this as "Las Vegas' favorite chocolate cake since 1959! Rich chocolate cake filled and iced with Freed's Bakery's scratch made Belgian chocolate whipped cream. Topped with chocolate shavings and a sprinkle of powdered sugar! One of Freed's Bakery of Las Vegas' most popular dessert cake flavors!" This chocolate cake is supposed to be their best seller - it's ok. 3/5 Blackout Cake: Chocolate cake filled with fudge, iced with chocolate buttercream and finished with ganache. The daisy topping is cute. 2/5 Parking is a problem in Downtown Las Vegas which makes going to this location a big hassle. I would eating at restaurants nearby and I would watch Freed's customer illegally park at spot that isn't even a painted parking spot. Service? The least friendly people in all of the 4 locations. Would I come back here again? Probably to get a birthday topper/ candle.

This location has fresh baked goods.Was really happy on first friday to be able to snag a piece of their confetti cake. I have a feeling.This location goes through product very quickly as it's a high traffic area.Cake is a little bit sweet but very delicious

It was me and my boyfriends first time visiting the cute bakery however the woman who was working that day wasn't so nice to us. she had the worst attitude, as we were telling and pointing which cake we wanted she looked directly at us and mocked my boyfriend since he has an accent and said "I don't understand what your saying " " the what ?!" "You mean the chocolate one?" even though we were showing her / pointing and which cake it was" and afterwards proceeds to be rude, giving us a rude look as if we disturbed her. Really sad about how we left there unsatisfied with the customer experience.

I looooove the chocolate cake here. They got a wide variety of dessert cakes and chocolate candies. Staff is friendly. The prices are just really high. $7 for a small slice of cake is a lot in my opinion but probably normal with inflation

This place had a great variety of sweets! I ordered a few different cookies and a macaron, all of which were tasty. The service was quick and friendly. They have some pre-made cakes in the fridge if you wanted something special on the fly. A neat find!

I loved how amazing they made my sons walking dead birthday cake! It was so nice and he was very happy. Service was incredible and the place was so clean and friendly inside. All the cakes and cookings and pastries are delicious the strawberry shortcake is my favorite!

Purchased a their popular strawberry short cake during Thanksgiving week. The cake was super dry had no flavor. I was very disappointed especially because these cakes are not cheap at all. I wouldn't purchase a cake there again.

This place is delicious their baked goods are great! I ordered my daughter's cake for her birthday and for like 20 minutes they could not find it. It was an ice cream cake and it made me nervous because I had ordered it a week in advance. When they finally found it, they did apologize and I was grateful. I definitely would order again because that cake was Delicious!!!

We were already in the neighborhood and stopped by here for some desserts! It's a small store. We ordered a strawberry chocolate cake slice, cream puff, and a sprite. It came out to about $16. The cake was delicious! It wasn't too sweet and flavor was nice. The cream puff was mediocre. The puff itself tasted old, but the cream inside was delicious. We were the only ones in the store, so the workers were very attentive and nice!

I stopped here to get a birthday cake. They had a few to choose from and decided to get the Chocolate Bavarian Cake. It had seven layers of chocolate and cream. It had the right amount of sweetness. The sprinkles on the side can get messy once you start cutting into it.

Went to pickup birthday cupcakes and macarons for a friend mid week. Parking is pay on the street as downtown is now, 50 cents covered it. Welcomed on entry with great service and selection was awesome. Ambiance- well it is downtown but no problems in daylight. Tasted great as expected upon eating later and money well spent. Will return next birthday or for another occasion as needed.

Bakery opening mid-morning in what should be a bustling downtown, unheard of (imo). Rugelach is what I am after and according to the menu they now need 72-hour notice! WtRugelach

Stumbled upon this gem while exploring the arts district over the weekend! Purchased an incredible cake for my son's birthday. Freed's is one of those next level bakeries, rare to find but when you do you know you'll be back over and over. I appreciate the artistry and greatness they contributing to the world! Thank you!

This place is amazing!!! The choices of desserts is almost overwhelming I wanted to get one of everything. Had several macarons and various cookies and everything was delicious. They are a little pricy and parking is fun, but it's Vegas... I would definitely recommend a trip off the strip to check out this shop!

I wanted to really like this place. It is so cute, and they lady that helped me was soooo nice! Please everyone that is near, give it a try. I will be back to try it again and give it a 2nd chance with something different. We got the raspberry lemon cake. We ate it all, so it was good, but we felt it could be great. The cake felt a little dry and I personally could have used a little more lemon. Will be back to try another piece, everyone deserves a second chance.

I order from here frequently and I can't say enough good things about their products I ordered a Funfetti cake for my baby shower and it's now my absolutely favorite cake in Vegas. I don't typically like frosting but theirs isn't overly sweet and they put just enough on their cakes The carrot cake and strawberry shortcake are both 10/10 The ice cream sandwiches are fantastic You honestly can't go wrong with any thing here The service is always very friendly and prompt. The store is always very clean and there are tables outside if you want to stop and grab a cupcake and sit for a minute.

I ordered a cake for the first time online and picked it up in this store on California ave . They were very nice . Cake was the cannoli cake that served 25 people . It was delicious and beautiful. I would definitely order from them again !

They always slay with their desserts! Their cakes are amazing! Whenever it's someone's birthday in my family, they always request the Black Forest cake! A few times I had to call a day in advanced for a cake and they always pull through! I love how when you walk into the shop it smells like fresh baked cookies. We have tried a few of their cookies too and they were delish!

We stopped here after visiting the Antique Alley Mall. We each had a pastry then walked across to the coffee shop to sit and indulge. Everyone liked their pastry/cake and it was just a great place to go while/after shopping.

Let me start off this story off by saying that my wife and I were in downtown Las Vegas for a pizza dinner. Walking to the restaurant we passed FREED. Now the wife was on a mission, dont eat so much at dinner to save room for dessert. That's just what we did. After dinner, complete with leftovers we took a little walk and stopped by FREED for some dessert. The wife was a little disappointed in the cookies, she thought they were a little dry for her taste. Our slices of cake, were amazing. What can I say? My wife was on a mission. End of story.

Walked in was welcomed immediately and was amazed at their selection of cookies, cake slices, macaroons and more. We opt for the Macaroons (Mango, Raspberry, Carmel), 1 Cannoli and 1 Wedding Cake Slice. All macaroons were delicious true to their flavors I personally favored the Raspberry than Mango. The Salted Carmel was salty but had a definite Carmel flavor. The Wedding cake was decent the frosting was harder than expected, strawberries were mushy but the cake was light and flaky overall 5/10. The Cannoli was 7/10 it was the right level of sweetness, the scoria was heavy and held it shape which is the most important part. The ricotta cheese was delectable and was perfectly paired with the chocolate chips. Overall, cute little shop!!

Cute little shop with an assortment of desserts! The store is really clean, has a gender neutral bathroom, employees greet you when you come in, and they have a point rewards system. I always come with my best friend to get a 1/2 lb of their cookies for $10. This time I was feeling adventurous and added a napoleon to my order, but it was a little bit too sweet for my taste. Also it wasn't as flaky as others I've had before so I only had a third of it before I tossed it, and I probably won't get it again. Next time I'll try their strawberry shortcake or tiramisu!

They have baked goods (shortbread cookies, slices of cake, etc). Tried 3 variations of their shortbread cookies for four of each flavor- My total was less than $6.

Who doesn't love a good tiramisu? Freed's downtown has a great selection of desserts. Cookies, cakes, cannoli, and cheesecakes are among the delicious items to choose from. Pro Tip: Get a coffee to pair with your dessert!

Dessert here is awesome. We got the Napolean and it's damn tasty. No wonder Napolean did so well in his wars. Wanted to try more stuff but we've all become a bit too health conscious so just stuck with the Napolean.

I loved Freeds bakery, however, they cut down on the portions now. You used to get a full slice of cake when you bought a "slice" of cake. Now, you get a small square for the same price, almost 7.00. When we walked in we were immediately asked if we were ready to order. We didn't even get in the door. She was like a used car salesman.

We tried the cupcakes and they were ok since they had fridge taste. It's unfortunate because it has great reviews maybe it was a one off. But we won't be going back. Service was great only giving them 2 stars because of their service.

Came in today to get some desserts for the holidays. The young woman helping me was friendly, but then I was paying at the register and another young woman with long fake lashes was ringing me up. She enters the total and then completely turns her back to me and begins chatting with her coworkers. There was no acknowledgment of my existence. It left a bad taste in my mouth and I won't be coming back to this location. Poor customer service makes a big impact on the experience.

Being the procrastinator that I am, I was in search of a birthday cake for my daughter. I came on yelp looking for cupcakeries in the area and came across Freeds Bakery. Never had this place before, so I thought I would give it a try. The ladies that helped me were nice and friendly. The cakes they had on display looked great but weren't really what I was looking for. I was going to get a some cupcakes when I seen they sold cake by the slice. So, I got the idea to choose 8 slices of cakes and asked them to put them into a box sort of like a square cake. And they did just that! My daughter absolutely loved it. My favorite slice was the Raspberry Lemon Breeze cake & the Strawberry Shortcake. The cake was so moist and delicious, every bite was amazing. Definitely a returning customer!

So many treats to choose from in a super convenient location. I'm not from Vegas but noticed that it was located in a poppin area! We noticed it when we were leaving and were so happy that we ran into it!

Some of the desserts were very good, but they had an item called cake ends, and it's in a plastic screw top jar, which are all kinds of the remains of cake, and I brought it home when I tried opening it it was stale not good. This should not happen if it is airtight sealed maybe they just put their old cake in it. The cookies are very small and I had gone to a different branch of a Freed's's which was much bigger. It was in a mall area. They sold cream puffs that I used to buy in Michigan. Freeds cream puffs are smaller and cost two dollars more than Michigan.
