Freemasons At Wiswell

Myself and my husband dined at the Freemasons last night to celebrate my Birthday, after seeing a Facebook post launching their new Chef, Mike. We were given a very warm welcome on arrival and all the staff throughout our experience were extremely attentive, especially Andrew, front of house. He's a great asset to the venue and certainly enhanced our experience! Now to the food ... all we can say is outstanding! Absolutely delicious and presented exactly how you'd expect from someone with Mike's experience. We can thoroughly recommend trying it for yourselves and we will definitely be back, sooner rather than later. Thanks for making my evening special with some lovely touches.

We had boxing day lunch here for 6 adults and 2 children. We preordered. On arrival, then gentleman that greeted us was lovely and attentive to the children. The lady behind the bar the same. The place is stunning and just my vibe, the ‘room’ we were in was perfect for our family get together also. The down side was the rest of the service. We weren’t checked on much, so ordering drinks was difficult and we ended up going down to the bar ourselves. The food service was incredibly slow. 2 and a half hours after arriving and having 2 courses, we had to chase our desserts.

A couple of years since we've stayed here and the first visit since the change of chef. A few little niggles with the room that need attention. TV not working despite querying this with the staff and a slow flow with the shower. The main change though was with regards to the food. It was really nice but not comparable to the previous dining experiences we have had at The Freemasons which were amazing!! If anyone has ever experienced a breakfast here you will know what I mean when I say it is simply the best you will ever get - that too has changed under the new chef!! The breakfast was actually disappointing:(

Booked Sunday lunch and drove from southport. Very warm and friendly welcome. Excellent choice of table. Got surprised with the free snacks before we had even ordered. The service was impeccable. Every member of staff we came into contact with was professional, friendly and efficient. The food was awesome ( see pics). While we were there we had already decided to come back for the tasting menu. So we have booked for our 25 th wedding anniversary on 10 th September. Couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate.

Outstanding restaurant! Food is exquisite. The set menu is very good value; interesting wine selection, the front of house is extremely attentive, friendly and professional. It’s worth making a trip to Wiswell just to eat here. Bravo!

Absolutely fantastic, the 6 course tasting menu and the breakfast the next morning are truly superb. We stayed in the “Mr Fox” room which was again superb. The staff are great and for a country pub the experience is very very good. I’d recommend to anyone in heartbeat.

Really positive experience at The Freemasons. Warm reception upon arrival and a good quality of food throughout. Some dishes were a little rich for some of our party, and the price point is high - but we knew that and budgeted accordingly. Good range of options on the menu so that you can manage the price point. Will definitely be back. Waiting service was very professional. Busy throughout the night, a clear indicator of a good atmosphere.

We received a Warm Wellcome from Andrew and his staff . We were given the Fox room a beautiful room with a shower and bath . We had a great nights sleep in a super king size bed . We had the taster menu for dinner and breakfast, the new chef is a great find excellent food , great presentation. Andrew was true to his word and gave our table complementary bottles of wines. This is our second stay at the Freemasons we can’t wait to return . Highly recommended
