The BEST restaurant we tried as first-time NOLA visitors. The berry French toast was phenomenal. Honestly the best French toast I’ve ever had the pleasure of consuming. Our server was so kind and friendly—service with a smile! I kept telling my husband, “People in New Orleans need to smile more!” And this particular server definitely did! Atmosphere was a nice, typical diner atmosphere for a Sunday morning.

Google
Missed this jewel our last stay in New Orleans, glad we tried it on a random walk-in off the street this year. Massive French toast and awesome Croquet Madame with Cafe au Late. Chill staff and good tunes playing that day. Thoroughly enjoyed it 👌

Google
This restaurant is amazing! Me and my family went in for brunch, and we all greatly enjoyed our meals! I got a cappuccino to drink, and a Crepe Florentine to eat. Originally, I was going to give this review 4 stars, but then I tried the Lyonnaise Potatoes and BOY WERE THEY DELICIOUS! Overall good service and food, but the atmosphere was a bit crowded, and I’m personally not great with large amounts of people, but the scenery was beautiful.

Google
For brunch in the Quarter, I like Toast on Decatur. Service is friendly, and accommodated our recent weekend walk-in visit quickly (they also have an online waitlist). The atmosphere is busy but bright and cheery with lots of windows overlooking the park across the street. A few tables out front for dining al fresco. The oysters with my fried oyster toast weren’t the tastiest (to be expected out of season) but the portion was great for the price. Lots of sweet options like aebelskivers and crepes and stuffed French toasts.

Everything we ate was very tasty. Our favorite was the chicken and waffles. I’ll be thinking about it for days to come. Armani our server was very quick and friendly. She was on top of things and made our meal a great and delicious experience. We will definitely be coming back. Amazing food AND service!

Google
We stopped in while shopping to grab a bite to eat and the food was amazing! I got the chicken and waffles, I was a little sceptical about the creole butter but I tried it and I'm glad I did the flavors blended well together. My husband got the omelette with bacon and he said it was delicious, our son got the Croquet madame with lyonnaise potatoes and he ate every bit. Too bad we live in Florida because I would definitely like to try the other things on the menu!

Google
The vibes here are immaculate. Such a fun and refreshing staff. The boys in the kitchen were hilarious definitely recommend sitting at the bar. Food was phenomenal, I could eat the catfish and grits EVERYDAY.

Google
We LOVED French Toast. We went for brunch and sat at the bar so we didn't have a wait, but it didn't feel overly crowded in general. The hostess, our server and other staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We ordered a nutella crepe (they were out of bananas), the mushroom, ham and cheese crepe and the hanger steak meal. Everything was delicious, hot and came out fast. We really loved the potatoes. The price wasn't bad at all compared to other diners in the area and the overall atmosphere was great. Everyone was extremely friendly and we will definitely be back.

Yelp
Walked in on a very cold morning because I loved the name. The coffee is so good and the food is AMAZING. I had the chicken and waffles and it's the best I've ever had and we eat all over the states!!!!! The staff is friendly ans the tunes too me back to the 2000's. I may have to grab some chicken before we leave town, just in case.

Yelp
LOVE THIS PLACE. Super cute breakfast place by the French Quarter. The omelette was great, and the mini pancakes were INCREDIBLE I hade them with regular maple syrup but next time I am going with the caramel sauce. Would definitely come back. The service was great, very sweet and attentive.

Yelp
We came here because I love to eat French toast for breakfast when I travel, so this seemed like a natural choice for Halloween morning. It was crowded and we had to wait for a table, but that' was expected for a relatively small restaurant. The staff had the music turned up very loud and one of the waitresses dressed like a clown was dancing animated moves to Britney Spears as we were taken to our table. Our waitress Juliet couldn't hear us over the loud music, so we had to raise our voices while she leaned in close to hear us. Ok, I get it, party city on a party day, fine. What I cannot tolerate is bad food. My classic French toast arrived and I could see without taking a bite that it was dry as a bone and overcooked. The top looked like regular dry toast, and the bottom was blackened and hard. I asked (shouted) for more syrup but that couldn't save this meal.. HOW DOES A RESTAURANT CALLED FRENCH TOAST SCREW UP FRENCH TOAST?! My luv homie's crepe was too thick and doughy, she wasn't having a good time either. I tried to smother my toast in more butter and syrup, but then a crying baby started adding to the noise level so we just asked for the check and decided to leave. Our waitress asked how everything was and I showed her the burnt toast. She looked surprised and asked if I wanted to exchange it for something else, but we didn't have time to wait for another meal. I just wanted her to know what the cooks were smoking back there. Never again, French Toast. I would give it 1 star, but Juliet was friendly.

Yelp
Great spot in the French Quarter with extremely friendly staff, cozy ambiance, and good food. It's always hard to pick just one dish, we've never been disappointed. Be sure to try the ableskivers (pancake puffs)!
google avatar

Gretel V.

Yelp
Chill spot with friendly staff and delicious food to start the day. Portions are large and dishes flavorful. Even if it looks full things move along quickly.

Collette D.

Yelp
Hostess with the mostess! I waitlisted for the wrong location. She was so helpful didn't have to wait long. Food was delicious I had the oyster toast and was not disappointed. It was super busy waitlist was like an hour very loud worth wait. Served was very busy so we cut some slack. Be patient if you go but so worth it

Yelp
Had breakfast here on one of our morning's in NOLA. Coming from the North, I thought there'd be no tourists here! Ha! Apparently, the "season" is actually Halloween thru Mardi Gras, so it's not dead here. Prepare to wait in line. We left our name and cell # to get on the list; apparently you can call ahead for that, which I highly recommend. This is a tiny spot and many locals also frequent it, so you know it's gotta be good. Location is kitty cornered to the area near the French Market and close to Cafe du Monde. Our waitress was Juliette and though soft-spoken, she was very attentive; I'm a tea drinker, though, and I tried to order a hot tea latte and she'd no idea what I was talking about, but I explained, just a cup of tea, half filled with steamed milk. I got a perfect cup delivered to me (hot milk in a creamer on the side). My friend had a delicious (by her measure) cappuccino. I was trying not to eat a big breakfast in anticipation of beignets and gators-on-a-stick, but I tucked into a bacon, spinach & gruyere omelette with slice of toast & homemade strawberry preserves with side of fruit. My friend had the single crepe. Who eats only one crepe? We were both happy with our selections as we sat along a window that looked out onto the street flanking the Riverwalk.

Yelp
Food and service were great here. All the reviews talked about the chicken and waffles which looked great - but we went with the King Cake French Toast which is absolutely amazing!!! Definitely the thing to get if you come here!!
google avatar

Mark P.

Yelp
This is THE breakfast spot. The food, service and atmosphere are the best I've found! This place might be my all time favorite breakfast spot that I have ever been to!
google avatar

Todd K.

Yelp
If you've never tried a great Florentine now is the time to try it. I have never had a crêpe so good in my life. The chicken is good
google avatar

Charles H.

Yelp
One of the best Chicken and Waffles I've ever had! Was so flavorful and the perfect portion! Staff were very friendly and the ambience was good! Make sure you get your self on the waiting list or go early as this place gets very busy! 10/10! Cheers!

Yelp
Such a cute brunch spot!! We came at around 1:30pm on a Saturday, so we were able to get seated right away. Our server was the sweetest and such a great sport. I went with a classic breakfast because I was craving grits. The grits were creamy and buttery- it really hit the spot. The bacon was extra crispy. The hard scrambled eggs were cooked just right! Now moving onto the last and best part of the dish- the BISCUIT. Because it was a cheesy biscuit, I assumed it would be served with a savory sauce, but it was served with strawberry jam. A bit skeptical at first, I smeared some butter on and then the jam. I underestimated this combo of savory and sweet. I loved it!!! The biscuit itself was flaky on the inside and crispy on the outside. The strawberry jam was divine. Everything complemented each other well!
google avatar

Marissa P.

Yelp
My breakfast experience was a mix of highs and lows. The biscuit with cheese was a highlight, though the runny jam wasn't quite my taste. The scrambled eggs were overcooked, but I did enjoy the Bloody Mary, especially the pickled okra. Also, the bacon was good. My friend LOVED the chicken and waffles though! Our server was OUTSTANDING--she frequently checked on us, handled a jam request quickly, and managed individual checks with ease, which deserved a 5-star rating. However, the experience was impacted by a few issues. We had to wait in a hot corridor attached to the hotel, and the hostess seemed to have forgotten my name despite confirming our place in line via text. Later, after we are seated she asked if we had put our name on the wait list. Overall, while the service was excellent, the food and initial impression were lacking. Additionally, the interior is cute but not memorable or unique. Overall, it was a decent/good experience, I would give it another chance.
google avatar

Yelp
Service was super friendly but food is just ok. Potatoes were so salty they were inedible. I ordered eggs scrambled hard, my bf ordered eggs scrambled soft and we both got the same egg. Interior seemed kinda sticky and not super clean. It's surrounded by homeless people on the sidewalks. I would skip and find something a little cleaner.

Yelp
We hopped on the waitlist for this spot like almost an hour before we got here. Once we arrived, I checked in and asked how much time would be left. They told me that I should've checked in right away because I might not have had to wait an hour. It just depends when tables open up. Well anyway, we had to wait another 20-30 mins to be seated which was kinda annoying. We preferred indoors, but we accepted a seat outside. We were hungry and wanted to eat. If you can, I wouldn't recommend outside. The tables don't have much room and you're practically getting brushed by pedestrians. Also, the sun hits you right in the face. Our server was very overwhelmed and busy but she was amazing. She did her best and was super nice. All the food came in a timely manner and our water was left at the table so we could refill ourselve. I ordered the abelskivers which were AMAZING! It came after the rest of our entrees which was fine it was basically dessert. Soft, fluffy, hot pancake dough. My entree was the cream cheese, salmon, and scrambled eggs toast, and I asked for no capers. My complaint here was the scrambled eggs were overcooked. A bit on the drier side. My bf's scrambled eggs on his entree also were overcooked. I think that's because this place is mostly focused on making French toast, especially when they're super busy. They were also out of potatoes for my mom. Actually another restaurant we went to for breakfast was also out of potatoes. Maybe there's a potatoe shortage. I would likely return for breakfast if I was in NoLa again.

Yelp
Big portions for what you pay. I had the ham crepe, which was very gently rolled and tasted great! The French toast here is on another level. This place is the real deal!
google avatar

Juan B.

Yelp
Amaaaaaazing place to eat, AMAZING. We're visiting from Florida and everything was SO good here. My mint tea, the potatoes were SO good, the avocado toast with egg was amazing, the veggies crepe was amazing, we had ZERO complaints.
google avatar

Perry R.

Yelp
Excellent food, sweet staff, nice place to chill at breakfast, breakfast drinks to fuel rest of morning

Michael O.

Yelp
Pretty tourist trappy. They overcharged me in that I ordered an additional side and they didn't provide it but worked its way onto the bill. The bacon was very good though.
google avatar

Pam M.

Yelp
The music was so loud it was hard to hear what the waitperson said. they did finally turn it down. It's a cute looking little café. I had herb and gruyere omelet. It was very good. The people next to me had the king cake French toast I took a picture of it and it looked awesome. They also had aebelskivers. What a great treat. I haven't seen those except in the Swedish district of Seattle. The waitpeople were great.
google avatar

Kirstin Z.

Yelp
Fantastic! Some of the best French toast I've ever had! It was worth the wait! This cute little spot has indoor and outdoor service. It's right across from the French Market Grill so if you sit outside you can enjoy music and people watching. We ordered an array of food and all of it was great! The chicken and waffles are equally amazing! This place is really busy so be prepared to wait, but it's worth it. Servers were friendly and accommodating. Will return for the French toast for sure!!!

Yelp
Our first visit a couple of years ago was outstanding. Unfortunately this visit did not live up to the first. Our order somehow got lost and we were served after several tables that arrived after us. My coconut French toast was dry and my husband's omelette was cold.

Beverly G.

Yelp
We were a little bit put off by some of the meh reviews, but we went anyway because I was really in the mood for French toast. Excellent decision! It's got the vibe of an old-fashioned diner -- little tables, close together (which made for a lovely conversation with a fellow diner). The waitress was so sweet, and the food was GREAT. We both ordered the "plain" French toast with berries. Yum! Crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside; berries were fresh. We didn't really NEED anything else, but the bacon beckoned (thick-cut and delicious), and we had to try the Abelskivers -- basically, little pancakes rolled into a hollow ball with a variety of dipping sauces - we can definitely recommend the caramel. This totally hit the spot for us. We went close to when they opened, and by the time we left it was quite busy, so go early or be prepared to wait.
google avatar

Yesenia C.

Yelp
This was a far walk from our hotel. lol but it was so worth it! There was a line when we got there but they make sure to move fast to get you seated. The inside is fairly small but they also had outdoor seating. The food was nice in terms of portions. We had such a great experience here and will be coming back during our next stop in New Orleans.
google avatar

Davina R.

Yelp
The vibe here was FIRE! Loved that we walked into pure HITS playing on the speaker and the staff had such positive vibes & attitudes and were singing along. I was really impressed with that, great way to start the day. Very casual / no need to dress up. The food was just as yummy! We got the Chicken & Waffles and Steak & Eggs! Flavor of the meats were very well seasoned and sides a had great flavors too. Nothing was particularly "Nola themed that we ordered but it was delicious!
google avatar

Lexi M.

Yelp
You may think you know what top notch French toast is, but you have to come here to try theirs. They have a great menu with tons of options for everyone, but again the French toast is an absolute must try! I will say I wish we made reservations because we barely got a table when we did. It's at a perfect location to grab breakfast and then hit the roads to go shopping, sight see, drink whatever your New Orleans' heart desires. Great breakfast spot!
google avatar

Maddy B.

Yelp
I've only tried fried oysters once and liked them so I said why not! The server also convinced me that it was the best and most unique item on their menu. Lemme tell you... this was so delicious and a massive amount of food. The oysters were huge and perfectly fried, full of flavor. The eggs were poached perfectly plus there was a corn kind of salsa with it all. An explosion of deliciousness! The diner was cute and homey. I would definitely recommend!
google avatar

Angela A.

Yelp
A week later, we are still talking about our breakfast! I honestly don't know how you make chicken that good. Chicken & Waffles and the French Toast were to die for!
google avatar

Jacob H.

Yelp
Delicious food and good music. A good choice for a brunch. Very elegant interior with a good environment.
google avatar

Michelle C.

Yelp
Absolutely scrumptious breakfast. I have never had anything as decadent as the King Cake French Toast. We also tried the coconut cream stuffed French toast topped with lemon sauce and was amazing as well.
google avatar

Andy I.

Yelp
Great little breakfast spot near Jackson Square. Friendly staff and yummy food. I had the avocado toast with sunny egg, which fit the bill. I recommend.
google avatar

Victoria Lynn D.

Yelp
Just wow, looking at these pictures has me ready to go back ASAP. Everything we ordered we would get again but also so willing to try more. The service was great, I loved the option to join the waitlist online & honestly once you're in food comes out quick. Cute are of New Orleans, we sat right at the front but there didn't seem to be a lot of distractions with that. Not pictures is the Hibiscus iced tea which I highly recommend. This will be one of our must stop places next time.
google avatar

Gregory M.

Yelp
A wonderful local place for breakfast right around the corner from my hotel. Just had a classic breakfast and wasn't expecting much but I just finished the best grits I ever tasted! Saw what looked like French toast that was 4 inches thick! The strawberry jam for the biscuit tastes like it is made here, didn't ask though.
google avatar

Rhonda W.

Yelp
I thought we were going to love this place and come back the next day but we actually will not return. I liked my fancy lemon curd french toast but the bacon wasn't crispy enough for me to eat so that just got wasted. My husband didn't like his french toast it didn't have enough egg batter so no flavor and dry. We ordered pancake balls as a starter but they didn't come out till our meal was about over. We thought they had forgotten about them and by that time we didn't want them. I tried the pancake balls and liked them better than my husband's plain french toast. since their name is French toast ... thought they would definitely have mastered it. About halfway through the meal they turned on music ... it was ridiculously loud and annoying. so loud you couldn't begin to hear what anyone was saying to you or enjoy your meal. it was drizzling rain and chilly outside, but we regretted not waiting for the outside table. the loud music totally ruined our experience, and we weren't at all hung over. Personally, we were disappointed and not return.
google avatar

Aria B.

Yelp
Decent breakfast experience. I made reservations online but we still waited a bit deprive watching the restaurant clearing out. Our server seemed ok at first but when my husband - who ordered pancakes with no powdered sugar, discovered the kitchen put it on them anyway and just flipped them over, she got a weird attitude because he wanted new pancakes. It was the oddest thing and very unnecessary. At the end of the meal she ended up apologizing for the inconvenience so maybe she realized she unfairly took out whatever frustration she had on us. I didn't love my meal - it was just average - but my family enjoyed theirs. They said the pancakes were very sweet and didn't need syrup so keep that in mind. I don't know that I would visit again over some other spots I love in the French quarters that have similar vibes, but it wasn't a terrible meal and others may enjoy it more than I did.
google avatar

Alise L.

Yelp
The food was great! This place was extremely busy but I came alone so they got me a spot pretty quickly. It's a small restaurant so large groups are likely to have a bit of a wait, but it's worth it. The food came quickly and they kept my mimosas coming in the meantime. Overall a great, affordable breakfast spot
google avatar

Kim M.

Yelp
It doesn't look like much from the outside but the nibbles here are amazing! We had the coconut French toast - WOW! It came with candied macadamia nuts and lemon curd. I dare you to finish it. We also ordered the Aebelskivers with lemon curd, eggs and a side of bacon. I thought that wasn't enough and order multigrain toast as well. I wish I could take that bread home with me. Yum! It was all terrific. Can't wait to go back.
google avatar

Laura A.

Yelp
I am so sad I live in another part of the country!!! The stuffed coconut cream French toast with lemon curd and macadamia nuts?! And my first bite of chicken and waffles?! I was swooning all day thinking about this meal!
google avatar

Foodie X.

Yelp
AMAZING!! Oh my GOODNESS it is!! Explosion in my mouth!! "Coconut cream stuffed French Toast with brulèed pineapple, lemon curd, and candied mac nuts" and Chicken Waffle!!! Staff were so friendly, from the greeter to the waiter, Faust. We sat on the sidewalk, great to enjoy the people walking around and listening to the band playing at the market across the street. Everybody passed was just drooling looking at our food!
google avatar

Ferenc F.

Yelp
Good food, good service. This is our first visit to French toast, but it won't be our last. I had the coconut cream stuffed French toast, which was very large and very tasty. My wife had the chicken and waffles, which may have had about the best fried chicken I've ever had in New Orleans. (And that's a high bar.) We each had a cup of their very large and very tasty café au lait. Don't miss and bring your appetite!
google avatar

David A.

Yelp
So being in New Orleans, there are food options everywhere you turn. We are staying in the French Quarter and there are Creole and Cajun restaurants around every corner and down every alley. Seriously everywhere. I was looking for something a bit more basic and yet still tasty. French Toast fit the bill perfectly for me. I ordered the basic breakfast and could not have been happier with my choice. Grits were great, bacon just crispy enough. Eggs good and strawberry jam tasty in my biscuit. I would definitely come back again.
google avatar

Yesenia C.

Yelp
Stop searching for an amazing breakfast spot!!! This is definitely the go to place to grab the best breakfast in the French Quarter!!! I did make a reservation before showing up, the wait was about 5 minutes. Staff was super friendly and establishment was clean. It is attached to the Hotel Provincial ( we didn't stay there). I ordered the Aebelskivers , which are puffed pancakes topped with powdered sugar and served with a side of homemade sauce, I chose strawberry-BOMB! The French toast was also great. Hubby ordered the Croque Madame - this is a must try here!!! That's what I'm getting next time, lol. So, if your in the French Quarter and looking for your next favorite breakfast place .... You found it!!
google avatar

Ivette V.

Yelp
The food was pretty good HUGE portions, so if you plan of ordering the french toast, share it. I didn't order any of the things this place is know for but it all look amazing and BIG! We got a breakfast sandwich, the classic, and a spinach and mushroom crepe with eggs. All 3 we great. The pomegranate Spritzer is amazing!!! Now....Service is always what can make or break a place.. for me at least. It will definitely determine for me whether or not i go back. So service for me wasn't the best. We sat at the bar and the server who took care of us was not very friendly, and Im hoping it was just a bad day for her because the rest of the staff ware truly welcoming and so inviting. This is a place id recommend for sure

Edna S.

Yelp
Food was good, the chicken for chicken and waffles wayyyy over done almost burnt. French Toast was really good eggs and bacon cooked perfectly. The music though was NOT the vibe. It killed the whole experience. Music -3/10 food 7/10
google avatar

Stephanie S.

Yelp
This place was absolutely amazing!!! We had a party of 5 and we sat at the bar we received our food quickly and it was the most delicious food that we have experience and it's coming to New Orleans. I had the crates with mushroom goat cheese spinach and tomatoes and it was his absolutely fabulous. The waitresses are very informative and sweet and absolutely know what they are doing. This place is a must go when you come to New Orleans.
google avatar

Bria R.

Yelp
Thoroughly enjoyed the brunch here. The atmosphere was fantastic and relaxing just what I needed on my honeymoon. I got the nutella aebleskivers and loved them! Great service!
google avatar

Jenn K.

Yelp
Stopped in for breakfast on a Tuesday during the coldest day of the year. We sat at the bar and our coffee was kept filled without asking. I tried the Ebelskivers with lemon curd and they were incredible. I also ordered the ham crepe and it was filling, but a bit tasteless and was good after adding salt. The French toast looked amazing and was a huge portion, but I didn't try it.
google avatar

Lex C.

Yelp
This was a horrible service will NEVER Return or Recommend. we get here at 9:50am and are not served until 10:25am and everyone who arrived after us get their food. Then all the cooks were all on their phone in the kitchen and with earphones on while cooking which was so unprofessional. Then the manger sierra says that somehow our ticket didn't print and they didn't notice? But everyone else's order was printed. If she was such a great manager she would have noticed we had been there over 30minutes. They THEN forget our omelet and over easy eggs which were not ready or cooked and she still had the audacity to argue with me over the counter with people sitting in front of her. We then get our French toast that is not even warm which had been sitting for over an HOUR. Do not recommend this restaurant and the owner should highly stop on by and have a meeting with these workers.
google avatar

Jamie M.

Yelp
Very nice breakfast spot. Indoor and outdoor seating, but not large dining area so usually a wait during peak times. Wait staff were friendly and attentive. The mimosa was a little stronger than I prefer them, but most May like them that way The crepes were delicious. We didn't order the French toast, but they were huge and looked yummy as well. The aebelskiver (puffy pancake bites) were pretty good, but good have used another minute or so to not be as gooey.
