The Latest New Orleans Restaurant Closings, June 2024 - Eater New Orleans

"A Baton Rouge-based mini-chain with locations in South Louisiana and Florida has shut down all of its company-owned locations, including an outpost on Freret Street that opened in 2018 (another local location in the CBD that opened in 2020 has since closed). According to the Advocate, the decision was made as summer approached, following a 'perfect storm' of a challenging labor market, inflation, and too-rapid growth. One Baton Rouge location, which is privately owned, will remain open." - Clair Lorell

Cure Co-Founder Turning Freret Service Station into New Restaurant | Eater New Orleans

"A former service station at the corner of Freret and Valence Streets that sat empty for the past four years is currently undergoing construction to be turned into a restaurant; the transformation is being overseen by Matt Kohnke, the founding partner and designer behind Freret Street cocktail destination Cure, and his design firm MNK Design/Build. Work has been underway for a few months, and a recent renovation permit shows a proposed floor plan with a 3,000-square-foot indoor area set in from the street using the existing structure plus a large outdoor dining space of more than 1,000 square feet just off the sidewalk on Freret Street. Plans for the restaurant beyond the architecture are still in the works." - Clair Lorell

not only were my NJOY pods overpriced, but one came COMPLETELY burnt and disgusting and one DOESN’T WORK AT ALL. $15 down the drain, because I know they would do nothing to compensate for this. thanks a lot freret stop. will not be coming back.
