Food is awesome! The owner is the man as well, he made sure our food was made perfect to our liking and the chicken shawarma sandwhich sauce was great. Had the brownie too 10/10 highly recommend if you’re in SF

Delicious food. Absolutely shmackin. Man working was super friendly. THEY HAVE GLUTEN FREE PIZZA WITH VEGAN CHEESE. Came for the chicken shawarma wrap and I was beyond satisfied.

We let the Gentleman (the owner or the manager i am not sure) choose for us and he did not disappoint us, it was fresh and tasted delicious, we also had turkey pizza. Highly recommend Ps: the restaurant is also named "Yameni Food" or اليمن السعيد

I always order pizza shawarma in DoorDash and really liked it . I decided to come in person and try the dine in experience as their pizza were great . The worker aren’t American just like me .so one first cashier come and I asked him for shawarma pizza his English wasn’t advanced so couldn’t understand me I showed him the pictures so he called his partener that tried to helped me with it he showed a pictures of chicken shawarma with fries ,for me he is explaining me the similarities as I told him pizza but he was saying pitta my prononciation maybe bad . In my mind he said pizza as I thought his accent is affecting the prononciation But as I showed his partener I thought they caught my order . My point the business need a serious management. Worker doesn’t pay attention and are really not helpful. I hope the head of the business will take care of this as I wish the best for the company . Thanks

Was honestly surprised by this place. Was walking by and noticed they had a sign for a 12.99 shawarma wrap. Unfortunately it must have been an old sign because it was actually 15.99 but nevertheless i still went ahead and ordered it. Ended up being pretty good and a good size. Ingredients tasted fresh, Fries were crispy and fresh as well. Nothing was stale, which has been my usual experience at budget shawarma spots. Love that they're open late and would definitely order the shawarma wrap again if I’m doing the polk street crawl. Would be five stars if the prices displayed on the sign were accurate.

Visiting San Francisco from Las Angeles and found this place because i wanted to try something different then what i usually eat. I ordered delivery so by time the food made it to me it was pretty cold and not so tasty. The French fries tasted horrible, it reminded me of being in high school eating those disgusting fries they would serve us for lunch. My fish was cold and tasted like it's been sitting out all day. The wing's were the only acceptable thing I ordered. And also what i don't get is i order from uber eat's and it pop's up as Wings wiz but it doesn't show on Google maps, it show's this place but from the pic's I viewed it is definitely the same place.

First things first! The owner is one of the nicest people I've met at these businesses on Polk Street. Honestly I have only had two different dishes on two occasions. I had some of the wings(made fresh). I also had a chicken salad. Everything was fresh and full of flavor. Yes I'll be back.

CUSTOMERS BEWARE: 1338 Polk St advertises under several different names on delivery service apps. It's all bad b/c they try and be pizza, burgers, Mediterranean, chicken and many other options & none of them are done well! Got honey bbq wings from here as some late night munchies, they were having a buy one get one free deal on these wings on UberEats. The wings are juicy and with pretty decent size. However I asked for sauce on side, they didn't follow. I also asked for ranch and blue cheese, and I got 2 of the same sauce. Can't really tell if it's ranch or blue cheese. Tasted more like mayo to me.

Their Door dash practice is unethical. And hurtful for real small business. This place has over 70! Restaurant under its door dash. Just search Vegan Elegante Pasta on DoorDash and you'll see their address as 1338 Polk Street. Door dash needs to have this Fresco Pizza removed. Not fair to other small buisness. I hate to say it because I want this place to be good and I try them all the time but it ends up just being pretty much garbage garbage garbage don't waste your time and money. There's a better place around the corner on California Street open late and at least they seem to try a little harder.sorry FPS.

Took a 30-minute wait to get one order of a philly cheesesteak and a side of fries. A simple order, yet, four people ordered ahead of my boyfriend and I and they all got their orders first. While waiting, we noticed they handled pizza with bare hands and handled money right after. So that instantly made my bf and I regret confirming our order. When we got the food, the fries were better than the philly cheesesteak but that's not a good comparison because both were still as bad. Yeah the fries were fresh but how could you go wrong with frying up a batch of fries real quick. My bf and I both took a bite into the sandwich and both had a couple bites of cartilage or dense tissue in the meat. The bread literally tasted like it came straight from a stale bag. Total was $17 for some dog food essentially.

I used to spend a lot of time out and about. Being out and about means you burn calories, and those lost calories crave replenishing. Enter Fresco Pizza Shawarma. I've been coming here for years. This was my go-to late night spot for however long they've been open. But, thanks to the pandemic, I hadn't been here in a while. A craving for a chicken shawarma changed that. The first thing I noticed was that prices had gone up. This isn't new to the area as many eateries have increased their prices. Thankfully, I found the quality had increased as well. The chicken shawarma was full of well-seasoned meat and was perfectly proportioned with veggies and sauce. It was much better than any of the chicken shawarmas I've had in the years I've been here. It also now comes with fries. Cost: $16.91 before tip. So I'm grateful that this place is still around and even more so that they continue to improve their food. I'll be back again, probably on a late night as usual.

Excellent Gluten-Free option for us! Their gluten-free pizza is amazing (taste, texture) and the service was wonderful. The proprietor was helpful, generous, and very friendly. His conversation and tips made the time pass quickly while we got our order. highly recommend for anyone looking for Gluten-free options. Ours is a necessity and we had absolutely no reaction so his food preparation and care are top-notch!

Strolled in to this restaurant by chance looking for something different to eat one day. We'd never had Yemeni food before so thought we'd give it a try. The food was excellent - the chicken was cooked perfectly, nice and tender - the veggies were fresh and crisp - and everything was seasoned just right. Each dish came with a small container of a spicy condiment that'll light up your senses for sure and tastes so good. This on top of very engaging and warm service. We will definitely stop by again.

I recently visited Fresco Pizza and tried their falafel sandwiches. While there was a decent amount of falafel in the sandwiches, the quality was disappointing. The falafel was undercooked and lacked the proper texture, making it far from enjoyable. Additionally, the sandwiches were overwhelmed with lettuce, which didn't help the overall taste. I was expecting much better and left feeling let down.

DoorDashed a chicken shawarma wrap from here. I order chicken shawarmas a lot and this place has the saddest chicken shawarma I've had in a long time. You could get more meat from chicken wing than what you'd find in their chicken shawarma. Decent flavor but had much better at other places.

This is a review for Fresco's new Yemeni menu. My wife and I have been pining for a good Yemeni restaurant ever since Yemeni's on Sutter and Larkin closed a few years ago. This is it! Tonight we tried the fahsa with meat and the lentil soup. The fahsa with meat, a traditional Yemeni stew with lamb, was excellent. A great addition to the neighborhood. We will definitely be back.

5 stars for the Fahsa with Meat! This place just started serving Yemeni food, and the fahsa tastes perfect. Comes out steaming hot in a stone pot, with a side of fenugreek cream and hot tomato/cilantro sauce.

Worst Mediterranean food ever!!!!! Nothing with flavor, kebabs terrible, rice terrible, vegetables in the salad were old!!!!!! The cashier rude and the ambiance.....so so! No recommended al all!

Food was basic as F. It was trash. The lamb and steak is sausage and it was put together all messed. It cost like almost $20 for wrap (sandwich) which was saussage and they took forever to make. I thought it would be actual lamb and steak.

When you're tipsy and hungry, food just tastes better. I ordered the shawarma and enjoyed the mix of meat, carbs, and veggies. Once I slathered some taziki sauce, it just brought it all together. Without the white creamy sauce, it may have been too dry.

While I'm San Fran for the weekend, we stayed at the comfort inn near pier 39. There, we called the front desk and asked for any pizza recommendations. They asked us to try this place out. They have a wide selection of appetizers such as wings, mozzarella sticks, cheesy bread and salads. The pizza was good for what it's worth. I just wish they mozzarella sticks were not done with hard cheese or the mozzarella was melted because it was sort of like biting into a cheese head. I liked that they were on time, offered to bring up to our room and friendly. All in all, if you're looking for a place to bring you pizza late at night this is the place.

This was favorite late night to go food but tonight is the worst! There is a plactic bread tie in my shwarma luckily i don't eat pita/wrapper so i always take it off the wrapper and see this inside. I'm very disappointed. Please be aware ordering in this restaurant.

First l called in to order a pick up, the guy on the phone didn't mention the price over the phone and when I asked about it he hung up the phone. So I showed up to pick up my order and I was surprised that I was charged 40$ for 2 shawarma plates, 20$ for a shawarma is insane never paid that much for a shawarma in my entire live. So when a asked the guy about the price he told me that s their prices, I don't know if it's a Covid-19 surging or what. Second, the place had barely a very small portion of meat as you can see from the picture plus the pita bread was very dry Last time from this place for sure

Z.E.R.O stars. Ordered, confirmed they received my order, waited over an hour (while still checking for updates.... I was hungry!), aaaaand my order never came. When I called the "business", it went straight to VM and said that it hadn't been set up yet. Called "customer support" and the same thing. Wasted $60, and it was an order consisting of two items. These guys are scammers. Definitely a trick this Halloween.

First timer and service was great but the Pizza I purchased was incredible and actually the BEST I've eaten in this City, seriously it was Awesome and I Highly recommend this Restaurant. Don't think about going there, just GO you will be impressed so will your taste buds!!!

Terrible service. I tried to call in to order several items, and they keep purposely hanging up on me.

This spot is on Postmates as "Philly Fresh Cheesesteaks" and their little thumbnail photo says "Phat Philly" LOL. Yes, I should've checked If the address was for the real Phat Philly but this is so shady. The cheesesteak was NOT good, the meat was dry and chewy, and didn't have any cheese inside. I am floored. How are they getting away with this? Had to add my own cheese and re-bake it. Ridiculous.

It's a little hole in the wall place but the food was good and service was friendly. We had both pizza and shawarma. Generous portions and everything was tasty and fresh. Would definitely eat here again when in the neighborhood.

I am not an avid reviewer (I honestly wish I had the time!) but I just had to jump on here and give these guys 5 stars because I might have just gotten the best shawarma plate of my life - and after 1 am! To say the least, I'm impressed. They always are on point, but tonight literally everything including extra napkins, cutlery, sauces and sides was perfect. They even included a little side salad since I'm gluten free and can't eat the pita bread. Love!! I've been a big fan of Fresco ever since moving to Nob Hill 2 years ago, and they were the only local spot delivering gluten free pizza after midnight. Come to find out these guys also make bomb shawarma plates with authentic and super-fresh and tasty lamb, beef and chicken. I had been missing my favorite local Mediterranean spot in the South Bay since moving to the city, and finding this place made me so happy. They are absolutely killing it both with customer service, quick delivery that actually arrives hot, and delicious bites after hours. If you're looking for a great go-to late night spot in SF with fresh tasty affordable food and allergy and halal friendly options, look no further. Much love to the whole Fresco team - thanks for always making my nights better, will always continue to recommend you to all my friends for high quality consistent takeout. Would give you 10 stars if I could.

Food is good, the staff are assholes. I don't need side comments about who you think I am. I just want my food and go. The banter they think I don't understand, is rude and degrading. It's disgusting.

So far not a good start, ordered online showed up and they had no idea about my order. Un masked and un gloved guy disappeared to the back to come out and tell me they just got the order. The place is dirty and things stacked everywhere, kinda worried about what I am gonna get.

These guys are SCAMMERS!!! They say they are all these different restaurants but if you go there it is just a shwarma place. I tried to order dickies BBQ, not there!! They play dumb and take the money and run. I'm contacting the district attorney's office with a consumer complaint!! They go by many names avoid anything from 1338 Polk street

Sf can boast of some horrible shawarma, but Fresco Pizza and Shawarma (and burgers and whatever else) on Polk/Pine is by far the worst. The $12 lamb pita is MUTTON at best, tough and grizzled like an old angry ram. The pizza is not that great either. If you're out after bars on Polk St. with the munchies, keep walking. Go to Mustafio's for a big $5 slice of Neapolitan style pizza. Also remember (even though you're most likely too drunk) to avoid Piccadilly's fish and chips right next door to "Fresco" Shawarma's, per my other review. This part of Polk street is really awful for decent late night food, so if you're here you're screwed. Around the corner on Pine St. is Grubsteak, but they fleece you every time. Good luck.

I was craving Mediterranean food for lunch and wanted to check out a new spot. I've seen Fresco Pizza Shawarma on Eat24 for the past couple of years or so. Since they serve the two things I was looking for: an appetizer and a meat sampler, I decided to order delivery last Sunday, July 24th. I placed the order at 12:06pm an it arrived at 1:02pm. I live in Outer Richmond. *Mixed Appetizer Platter: Combination plate of hummus, baba gannoush, tabouli, ezme, potato salad, eggplant salad ($14.99), Extra Pita (+$0.75) *Mixed Grill: Mixed grill consists of chicken and lamb shish kebob, kotte kebab, green salad, hummus ($18.99) The baba ghanoush and tabbouleh were the best things about the meze platter. The tabouli added a nice green freshness to every bite and the baba gannoush was savory and creamy. The hummus, however, was very bland. Didn't have much flavor which was disappointing. Out of all the apps, I figured I'd like the hummus the best. The eggplant was all bad. I'm not sure how this is normally prepared, but it was slimy with a snotty texture. Really unappealing. I didn't try the potato salad and I didn't see any ezme, but I'm not familiar with ezme, so maybe it was there? Also, the Eat24 app requires you to order extra pita with the mixed appetizer sampler. I believe this is a glitch as I realized later, the Eat24 site doesn't require you to do that. So save the extra $0.75 and go online to order as the pita was a little hard. I didn't even end up using on of the pitas I got anyways, so it was a waste. The mixed grill was a little better. All the meats had a nice smokiness. And surprisingly, I really liked the rice. The hummus with the mixed grill was also flavorless though. Very disappointing mezze platter. And the mixed grill was just okay. This may be a good spot for late night eats like a shawarma or a slice of pizza, but for straight up Mediterranean food, Fresco fell a little short.

Gave me the wrong order via DoorDash. When I called to tell them, they argued with me and hung up. Food was extremely cheap quality, overpriced and unbearably greasy. Do yourself a favor and Stay Away!

Worst delivery experience ever! Late, rude and left my food at the front desk of my building without asking/telling me. I live in the heart of downtown, if I wanted to go downstairs for my food, I wouldn't order delivery!! Fresco - your food is too good to have individuals like this represent your organization. Also my $9.00 sandwich was all smashed up.. Thank you!

So this is how my falafel came 10 mins ago, during Covid 19, and I'm actually supposed to feel safe to eat this? Like seriously? No utensils, No napkin, Ripped up bag. No Fries, and the driver wasn't wearing anything to keep himself safe. This is the worst service, I've ever received, which is a shame! I love this place. I am a frequent customer, but this is unacceptable.

We are in town visiting San Fran with our family and the hotel gave us a menu for this place. They asked on the phone if we would pay cash and we said we would be paying by credit card. They said they would send the delivery person with a card reader. Which they did not. The delivery guy recommended we go to an ATM. He then called the restaurant but couldn't get anyone on the phone. We called and someone picked up right away. The guy tried to take our card over the phone but had trouble understanding the information. Someone (I guess from the restaurant) called the delivery person who then asked if they could take a picture of our credit card. We then told them to forget it and went back to our room and ordered from Dominos. I also turned off my credit card in case they did try to charge it. We also told the hotel to throw out their menus. The bottom of their menu says they take credit cards, too. I'm guessing they run this game regularly to avoid paying credit card fees.

Very bad service called 3x I was told the driver then come to 9pm after I called at 7 then called back at 9 last time some1 hung up on me called back straight to voicemail im from out of town and this was rude

Owner is very welcoming and accommodating, they didn't have plain cheese when I came in but they made a whole pizza just for my one slice request! Pizza looks and tastes delicious and they are open until 3am! What?!?! Great for a late night munch, after parting or working late. Their menu is fantastic and extensive, they pretty much make anything from salads, to shawarma and kebab sandwiches and plates, furthermore falafel and Mediterranean foods plus a variety of pizzas, calzones and many desserts, including a classic cheesecake, rice pudding or baklava!!! They even have breyers and Ben and Jerry ice cream! WOW! I have been in this neighborhood for a while and I am wondering why have I not come here before?! They also offer free delivery with a minimum order of 15$! Just the best! Open from 11 am to 3 am daily.

Gone here a few times after a show or the bars, and let me just say, their beef shawarma wrap is 10/10.. which is surprising because it's a pizza spot. the pizza is mediocre.. I've had better and I've had worst, but after a night of drinking, it hits the spot. The staff had been great each time, and the prices are reasonable.

My first time ordering and I used Amazon Restaurants. Combo Shish Kebab - Chicken, Lamb Comes with rice, salad, pita and hummus but I asked for extra salad instead of rice. -The salad itself consists of these yummy shreds of lettuce and pickled red cabbages with red onion and a nice lemony flavor. -The Kebabs were both well seasoned and moist. Loved the char on the outside. - The Hummus was actually a little flavorless, but the rest of the combo made up for it, I think. It went well smeared on the soft pita with the salad. The Dolmas -The rice inside was very soft, almost porrige-like in consistency so meh to that mouth feel. It did have a nice flavor though... I felt like there was a good amount of herbs present, maybe dill, and some lemon. I loved that it didn't come swimming in olive oil like most places. Overall would give a 4.5 but Yelp doesn't do halfsies. Would order again. Or stop in.

1 star for the halal late night food and hours. That is all. The employees do not care about service or loud obnoxious drunk idiots in the seating are. To go your food for your sanity. Or have a cop on speed dial for noise complaints. The employees will tell You they do not care.

The good thing about this place is that they're open late but their food lacks in flavor. The restaurant could use some cleaning as well. We had a layover in San Francisco on our way to Dallas so we didn't have a lot of options to choose from since it was in the middle of the night. The location is near downtown San Francisco which is great. I got the beef kofta platter and my husband got a wrap. We weren't totally impressed with the food or service.

Listed as Sophia's Cheese steaks on GrubHub. Ordered delivery, set to arrive 70-90 min later. Ok fine. 80 min later gets cancelled. I call and they say I'm too far away, they are too busy. How do you figure out you're too busy 10 min after my delivery was supposed to arrive. It's now almost 4 am and everything is closed. Thanks

Got home late and decided to try out this neighborhood hole in the wall pizza place which also happen to serve Kebob plates. Pretty much a take out joint, but you have a couple tables to sit and chomp down. Wipe your own table and dump your tray content in the trash. Self service water and condiments on a the side. Dishes were filling and flavorful - a solid 3.5 for food. Got a 1 time 15% off yelp check-in so it helped the value I got out of it. 4 star this round. Will need to check out the pizza one of these days.

Awesome joint that stays open till late! Even offered to add mushroom to cheese!!! ( because they didn't have the regular mushroom) Right across from Play land which makes it even more awesome!
