Fresh Baguette

Upscale French bakery right near the White House. Stopped in for breakfast before a White House tour and was absolutely blown away with the presentation of pastries and sandwiches. Mathias was very attentive when assisting myself and other customers. I had the “Sunny Side Up Cro’gel” which was prepared to order and tasted wonderful. If you’re in the DC area, this is a must stop for authentic French baked goods.

Absolutely amazing experience! I stopped in on Halloween and ordered a few different baked goods — every single one was fresh, fluffy, and so tasty. They had a fun spin-the-wheel event for Halloween prizes, and I actually won a free baguette! Since I’m not from DC, I passed it along to the lady behind me, and she thanked me and mentioned she comes here all the time — which says a lot about how loved this place is. The Crogel was to die for. I got the Salmon Lox, and it was perfect — the salmon wasn’t overly salty, just smooth and flavorful. I’d 100% recommend this bakery to anyone visiting from out of town. I always try to avoid tourist traps, and this was definitely not one of them. Everything felt genuine, welcoming, and made with care. I really hope this bakery keeps thriving — it deserves all the love it gets!

I was walking on Wisconsin Avenue and saw Fresh Baguette. I went inside just to look at the pastries. Everything looked so tempting that I could not resist having a lemon meringue tart. All I can say is that it was pricey, but it was worth every penny.

I recently visited your bakery and appreciated the quality of the pastries. However, I noticed that my purchase was packed with bare hands. I believe pastries should be handled with gloved hands to meet proper sanitation standards. I hope you will consider reinforcing hygienic food handling practices to protect customer health. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

This is a smaller fresh baguette but the pastries are still delicious. I ordered a mini croissant which is a great size for a sweet craving. It’s probably the first coffeeshop I’ve been at that offered mini sizes! My son can only have alternative milk so the barista made him a chocolate oat milk which was so kind. They offer an array of pastries and also savory sandwiches. They have all of the different speciality drinks that are popular and classic. The ambience is very inviting and clean.

Fresh Baguette in Georgetown is a small yet mighty bakery on a busy corner off Wisconsin Ave. It is known for its baguettes, which often sell out by noon. However, I would argue that their pastries, and not the baguettes, are the star of the show. The delectable amuse-bouche portion coffee eclairs are heavenly and beg for seconds. With so many wonderful options, you’ll be lost and most definitely gaining some calories (or how I like to call them, happy memories). While the service can be suboptimal, the sweets make up for it. I will not get their sandwiches again though. They lack any type of sauce to offset the razor sharp edges of a baguette. However, for what it’s worth, I think Fresh Baguette does a great job in offering an eclectic range of sweets and bread.

The raspberry croissant was superb! Flaky, buttery, just the right amount of sweet. Service was quick and the employees were attentive. Laila was helpful and had great recommendations!

They have a very nice selection of pastries in a small shop with a couple tables. On top of that, I've had an experience with them ordering two raspberry tarts with no sugar. After the order, they called me to warn and ask if it was fine for me to wait another day, because they didn't have delivery on the day I initially wanted to have it. And because I didn't mind, they had it ready for me the next day. I enjoyed their polite service on both days. I also, of course, enjoyed the tarts with coffee too. It's a bit pricey as everything is of good quality.

Excellent customer service. I was very impressed with the entire experience from ordering on line to picking up my item. Everything went very smoothly and my questions were answered accurately and promptly. Lastly each time I have ordered food at their facility, it has been good quality and delicious. I was strolling around Glover Park when I came across this little cafe and pastry shop. I was torn between getting a cherry croissant, a raisin bun, or an apple turnover. They also have a pretty decent selection of cakes and pies. I could have gotten all three, and then some, but I decided on the turnover. I also ordered a medium coffee to go along with it. There were two employees who helped me, and they have some good teamwork going on here. There were only two tables situated outside, and only a couple more inside, but I was fortunate to find a spot along the long table by the front window. The pastry was mad delicious, and I was tempted to order a second! Now I will venture on down Wisconsin Avenue to Georgetown.

I stopped by Fresh Baguette a few weeks ago when I was in Georgetown after a bakery I had intended to visit had a line too long for me to wait. The service at Fresh Baguette was great, but I didn't love what I ordered. My raclette tart was less tart than bread roll with raclette on top, and my canelé was fine but seemed just a little overdone. I also had a drip coffee (there's a self-service table). They have quite a selection of pastries, as well as some French items for sale. The shop is plain and simple, but quaint, with one table and some bar seating inside. Overall, it was nice, but the food just didn't hit the spot for me.

I had the hot dog croissant and cinnamon roll. Both had amazing texture, flavor, and warmth. I will definitely be back to try some of their other baked goods!

Saw this place on a tiktok and was craving a croissant so we stopped by. It's a small bakery/cafe and everything looked delicious. The baked goods were pricey, but expected in that area and high quality. Mainly wanted to try the Cro'Gels, which are croissant-bagel sandwiches. The bacon/avocado one was delicious, large, and filling, and my girlfriend loved her lox one as well. But my favorite part was definitely the chocolate croissant. Not pictured because it was gone quickly.

Had them for the first time last night at an event at the French Embassy, we loved them so much we got it for breakfast this morning. The Petit Cro'Gel Norwegian is excellent! Highly recommend. Also enjoyed the Ham & Cheese Croissant as well. My boyfriend is also very excited about pairing the baguette with his eggs later. Highly recommend and can't wait to try them again!

i am sure many cultures would consider this an abomination but to whatever culture i exist in this is holy - this bakery is so far up wisconsin I was basically sweating by the time I got there but I deem it worth the half marathon - meet a crogel, a bagel and croissant fusion. I will always swear by a pure bagel but the textures of this made it so light, flakey, and fluffy that it was perfect with the mayo and fresh veggies. - I don't think with plain cream cheese this would fly but with a dessert cream cheese or this turkey breaat avocado lunch vibe it certainly did - also since I ordered online as a first timer I got money off so this was $7! not too shabby and definitely a must hit deal

Their CroGels are delicious! I LOVE the Norwegian one!! The bread is so light, crunchy and buttery! The salmon, cucumber, greens and spread are deliciously refreshing! The iced americano is a smooth classic that I keep coming back more!

The sandwiches are delicious, the apple tart was too sweet for me, but my husband thought it was fine. The baguette with some butter with a cup of coffee would make my morning. I would be returning whenever I am in town.

I LOVE FRESH BAGUETTE! Easily the best bakery in DC. The bread and croissants are made fresh daily. The baguettes are great take aways for picnics or to bring to a friend's house as a host's gift and are only like $4. The coffee isn't great but it is made fresh. The stars of this place are their croissants- they KNOW what they're doing!! Flaky and buttery and tender- ugh! So good. Can't go wrong with the chocolate, almond, or plain croissants. I always get them for when loved ones visit. Also, they have a croissant shaped like a bagel called a crogel and they make it a sandwich!! The tomato pesto crogel is one of the best things I've ever eaten and I crave it constantly!! This will always be a fav of mine. Fast service, great food, and when the weather's cooler there is nice outdoor seating on R street. LOVE!!

Great corner bakery. The crogel was the bomb! Courteous staff, helped me pick since it was my first time. I was able to stir down outside and enjoy September sunshine.

I was craving something sweet and stumbled upon this cafe! It's a small cute shop and all their food looks good! I got the sweet pumpkin bread, and it was delicious! It was the perfect amount of sweetness and I'll be definitely be going again!

Happened upon this French cafe while doing a little shopping on Christmas Eve. This location is newer than our go to Bethesda cafe and offered all the baked treats that we're accustomed to. Staff were helpful and pleasant. We ordered the Norwegian sandwich, flourless brownie (taste just like the traditional ones), an eclair, and brioche buns. Everything was extremely fresh. There are a few counter seats available, but most patrons ordered their coffee and food to go. So stop in! There's "Something Delicious Inside".

Service is great. The employee is flexible. I made a mistake on online order on the time of pickup. However, they are happy to accomodate me. The cake is awesome ! I love pastry and baguette as well. The skin for baguette is crunchy which is right. Every pastry is made by love in my opinion.

Overall: Very good bakery with all fresh pastries - well staffed, and easy access to the store (on a weekend when the bank across the street is closed). Highly recommend! Tastiness: Very good - for the croissants there is a nice balance between buttery and crispy/flaky. We tried the mini croissant, the almond croissant, a pumpkin spice pastry (similar with a croissant in texture), and a baguette. We had the artisanal baguette, which was a little too crispy, with a pretty hard shell. Presentation: Traditional presentation with pastries visible behind the glass. Service: Quick and on-point. Ambiance: This is mostly a pick-up place where you get to select your pastries, coffee, maybe pick-up a jar of chocolate-hazelnut spread (a version of Nutella) and get going. They do have some window seating and large windows to enjoy people watching. Cleanliness: Neat store and the staff was wearing the appropriate gloves for serving and handling trays (in/out of the oven too). Price: $16.71 for the above mentioned products. Well worth it.

I go out of my way for good bakeries, including hiking all the way to Georgetown. At first impression, the shop smelled divine, of butter and freshly baked bread. The staff was super friendly and helpful, and the counter looked absolutely amazing with fully-stocked pastries and viennoiserie. They had loaves of bread on the shelf, which were still warm when I arrived!! I got wholewheat sourdough and it was delicious. Very good crust and mildly sour. I also picked up a cinnamon bun which looked more Swedish than the American version that's drenched in icing. It was ok. The dough is puff pastry instead of brioche so pretty light and airy. The flavor was subtle and not too sugary or cinnamony.

My favorite items were the Pumpkin Mousse Cheesecake ,Pumpkin Cruffin and the Parisian Sandwhich! A Caramel Espresso is a great way to top off your pastries! -Jahhman

So so yummy! All of the pastries and sandwiches were delicious and the customer service was great.

On point! We came after a long day at the pool and I wanted to inhale all of the baked goods' crusty goodness. Quiches, croissants, desserts, breads, cold drinks, some snacks and other goodies for purchase. And a whole sandwich menu. Loved the Parisian baguette and the hazelnut desserts. Lemon meringue mini pies were wonderfully tart. My only disappointment was forgetting to grab some croissants for breakfast!

I've done a taste test with all the French bakeries around and believe these baguettes really are the best. The selection and quality of the pastries rivals others as well. The service is always friendly and fast. It's not really a place to hang out with your coffee but for to-go treats it can't be beat.

The service is always topi tier! And the food speaks for itself. As soon as you walk in the smells make you want to empty you pockets. The atmosphere is bright and welcoming. Wish I lived closer so I could visit more often.

I love going to Fresh Baguette in the mornings and enjoying a nice crogel. The staff is super friendly. I've never had any issues and will continue to make that a weekly stop.

Disappointing. This is fast food, not fast casual. The quiche Lorraine was very weak on flavor and the ham pieces were all on the bottom. This put it down there among the worst I've ever had. la Madeleine and Mason Paul both have much better quiche Lorraine, deliver it to your table and don't serve it in a paper ring on a flimsy paper plate that can't support the weight of what's on it.

I've walked past Fresh Baguette on multiple occasions and final decided to stop by! Located on the boundary of Glover Park and Georgetown, this cute bakery has many many pastry options as well as some beverages. I wanted to take advantage of a Postmates coupon, and placed an order of the ham & cheese croissant, Nutella croissant, and the mini lemon meringue tart. I had also placed an order of the Suisse croissant but that wasn't available so they gave me 5 madeleines to make up for it since I had already paid through the app (I was given an option of getting a refund, or choosing from 3 other pastry options that were available). I especially enjoyed the Nutella croissant, which had a very distinct Nutella taste! All of the croissants tasted very fresh and were also fluffy and warm to the taste. The madeleines were also very light and tasty, I had to try not to finish it all on one go! The ham & cheese croissant tasted a little plain, however, and I think that it could have used a little more of a sauce since it was a little dry, or maybe the cheese could have been a tard bit meltier. And the lemon meringue tart was quite small in size, but I guess it was a mini serving. But in general, I did enjoy my orders and will be happy to stop by again to try some more pastries!

Their breads and sweats, so tasty~ It was the first time we order the large cake for birthday party, OPAL NOIR was incredible! We love it!!

lI absolutely love Fresh Baguette and their team. They truly offer the best bread in town, period. I wouldn't order from anywhere else. Their quiches are fantastic, and the viennoiseries are equally delightful.

The crogels and pastries are amazing - but very unpleasant service. Lots of snide attitude and sloppiness. Need customer service training asap.

Cute little spot across from Georgetown beauty bar and we decided to check it out. Interior space is cute and staff was friendly. I had the juice which was very yummy! The croissant was good also! The pasties looked all yummy!! The mini chocolate tart was delicious!! Rich and sweet so we shared a bite each!

Ordered 40 mini croissants and chocolate croissants online for pickup for our daughters birthday party. The ordering process was super easy and our order was ready for us to collect on time and with no waiting in line. The pastries were delicious and were enjoyed and devoured in seconds by our daughter and her friends, without a crumb remaining. Fresh Baguette never disappoints!

Wow! This place is OUTSTANDING! We're so grateful for them being in our Bethesda community. The breads, pastries, cakes, drinks--all consistently amazing. The service and value continue to be extraordinary.

Although the pastries and breads looked delicious, their taste was lackluster. We picked up an Organic Superseed Baguette, Cro'Gel, Danish Apple, Mini Plain Croissant, and four Plain Croissants. You would expect a place named Fresh Baguette to sell better baguettes. The crust was so tough that we had to yank with our teeth to get a bite. Due to the dryness, it was hard to chew the bread. However, the earthy flavors of the seed mix brought a good flavor profile to the bread. The plain Cro'Gel was our favorite item - it was flavorful and buttery. We would be interested in trying a Cro'Gel sandwich. The other items (Danish Apple, Mini Plain Croissant, and Plain Croissants) were crispy and flakey. They felt buttery but did not taste buttery at all. The apple caramel center was good, but not remarkably better than something that could be purchased at the grocery store. In my opinion, they were not worth the price.

I was at Georgetown for work, decided to have breakfast around the area, found this place. Really great Croissant , the lady who helped myself with my order was very pleasant I will definitely coming back to this place.

It is so yummy! This is the best croissants in the area! My kids like to have them everyday.

I have only tasted their breads, and they are insanely delicious--nothing short of perfection. The price is extremely high ($9/bread), but you are at least sure to have a great tasting one. I usually bake bread at home, but this is nice for an occasional treat. Just superb breads!!!

Love Fresh Baguette. Their sandwiches are all so great. It's always difficult to choose. Great dessert selection. I especially enjoy the minis for the perfect individual dessert size after a big meal

Food is delicious! Bread is spot on! What is described on their website is exactly what you will receive. Setting up an online account was so easy. Now going forward, I can order ahead and just go to the counter and pick up. So easy!!

Great small shop to buy freshly baked bread, pastries, or grab a cup of tea /coffee to go with a slice of quiche for light breakfast or lunch. I made two visits, both times I had Ham&cheese quiche that I asked to warm up. It was light, with a thin base and a crispy crust. Excellent to my taste. On my first visit in late afternoon, I also tried eclairs and a hazelnut& raspberry pastry which were ok but nothing outstanding. Staff are wearing masks, there is a posting in the door restricting the number of customers inside to 3. Much appreciated

Honestly, the fact that this places uses paper straws that melt is more offensive than my wheelchair not being able to get in through the front door because they don't have a ramp. Also the coffee is burnt.

Simply delicious. Normande tart. A slice of heaven indeed. It's worth the drive from Reston. We are happy that we've found this place and we'll be coming back for more.

The sandwiches are excellent! I particularly like the Parisian, a classic ham, swiss cheese, and butter on the traditional baguette. They offer a wide variety of pastries, of which I've only tried the macaroons, which were delicious. I highly recommend Fresh Baguette!
