Fresh Bourbon Distillery

Mimi and Will greeted us and made us feel really good. We did a taste of the Bourbon Whiskey, Single Barrel, and the Vodka! All was amazing! Mimi did a great job explaining the aging process and the process, she’s good! We are from Michigan and she said we can buy it there! Great spot, easy parking across the street!!! Be sure to go to the back room bar area!

My husband and I did a tasting with my in-laws. This was such a great experience! Mimi guided us through our sensory tasting that included sniffing different scents (we learned we have dominant nostrils. Who knew? Mimi!) and pairing with small samples of food. It was super interesting to see how these scents and tastes brought out different flavors in the bourbon which was delicious! Next, Mimi expertly guided us through how to make our own Old Fashioned after we chose the bitters we wanted to use. It was fun! We ended with delicious cocktails made with either bourbon or vodka. If you have a chance to visit, you have to try the vodka too! It’s super smooth and tastes like water but at 80 proof! Mimi was very friendly and knowledgeable and made our experience perfect! This place is super cute with a marble bar and 2 chandeliers. We highly recommend Fresh Bourbon!!!!

In December I visited Fresh Bourbon in downtown Lexington. I had no idea what to expect, but the small distillery in the rear of the space reminded me of a craft brewery. Our host was engaging and attentive. Even though I was by myself, I never felt neglected. The bourbons were first rate, and the cocktails were sublime, both the Old Fashioned that I created, and the Tia's Tea made for me by our educator/bartender. I'm in Lexington for several weeks, and am attending distillery tours and tastings when I can. My experience at Fresh turns out to be one of my favorites so far. Give it a try. The personal service and genuine belief in their product sets Fresh apart from all of the larger well-known distilleries.

The staff at Fresh Bourbon are excellent and extremely knowledgeable some of the most professional staff I've ever been encountered. The Bourbon tasting experience was phenomenal and I will most definitely be back. 10/10 there is a bright future for Fresh can't wait to see what they do next.

Wow!! This experience was by far one of the best tasting experiences I have ever had. We made reservations for 3 people at 6:00pm, and were pleasantly greeted by Rob in the gift shop, then escorted to the exclusive tasting/distillery area. The tasting bar is GORGEOUS, immaculate, trendy, and decorated perfectly. This award winning microbrewery didn’t just have a visual tasting wheel, they had an entire “smelling wheel” of all of their special notes that are found in their exclusive bourbons. We got to taste their small batch, their single micro barrel and then make our own cocktail with 6 of their special bitters. It was a very intimate and special event that I would highly recommend to a novice or experience sipper. What I thought was special about this distillery is that they didn’t “push” trying or sipping neat (although that’s what I love), you can taste at your own pace. Kudos to this innovative industry that expedites the aging process in their micro barrels. Truly delicious.

George and Freddie did an awesome job with the tasting experience. They walked us through the different flavors of an old Fashioned and we had the opportunity to make one based on our individual bitters we tasted. It was a great experience different from other tastings offered.

We loved it. The whole thing. It's not a distillery tour, it's a bourbon experience. The setting was perfect: crystal, velvet, slate, granite and chandeliers. The bourbon was perfect: caramel, vanilla, and gorgeous in the crystal. Our Greeter Rob was friendly and so interesting. Our Host George was very knowledgeable and outgoing. It was all so beautiful, personal and comfortable. When I use the word experience I mean that--it's nothing like any bourbon tasting you've even been to. The pairings, the bitters, the aromas. It was all a chef's kiss and 100% worth the money. Don't miss this once-in-a-lifetime experience if you visit Lexington.

This is not your average bourbon tasting. (Which, to be clear, is what we usually do and which we do enjoy.) This is a glam little place with a cocktail bar speakeasy kind of vibe. Lots of exploring tasting notes, great experience if you have foodie inclinations. You taste some neat bourbon and some cocktails and it's all excellent. (One of them has sweet tea, which I hate and my dad is a little allergic to, but we both drank it all because it was that damn good.) We are checking a bag to bring a bottle home. Blake was our guide and was hilarious and very entertaining - especially recommended for the girls, gays and theys, but my dad is a straight older dude and also had a great time, so honestly Blake's charm knows no bounds. (We met the other guys, who were also cool - you probably can't go wrong with any of them, but our recommendation stands.) This place would be great as part of a bachelor/ette party, or a girls' night out, or if you're just traveling through Lex, or if you want to challenge your friend who thinks they don't like bourbon...or really anything. Just go.

One of the most unique bourbon experiences I've been to. A very fun and interesting tasting. The establishment itself adds a little bit of glam in the decor. Taste one of their bourbons and experience it with different scent smells and tastes. Then learn how to mix the perfect Old Fashioned. The bourbon itself was also excellent!

Staff was super friendly and welcoming. The vibes of the place including all the tasting details are amazing. The bourbon was ok but the pour of the single barrel was better. Totally worth checking out for the experience alone.

This place has a GREAT cocktail/tasting class. I've been to several distilleries already and the same old tasting at each one. But this place really steps it up and adds some smells and tastes to enhance the bourbon. After the tasting, they walk you through crafting your perfect old fashioned. They had some fun bitters to try out. Lastly, they make you your drink of choice on the menu. I got the paper plane and I really enjoyed it. A group of four of us booked the tasting on a whim that day and we all loved it. Our guides were awesome too and super personable. We stayed after a few minutes just to chat with them and it really adds to the experience when people care about your experience and not just getting through the class. It's a small little spot but they said the bar area could hold up to 18 or so if they squeeze them in there. The aesthetic of the place is also *chefs kiss*. I think it could be fun for a girls night or a bachelor or bachelorette party!

What a wonderful experience!! We stopped by this fantastic establishment for bourbon tasting, and I'm so glad we did. We were greeted by Shelby, who was friendly and welcoming. The ambiance and vibe were a plus. Rob was fantastic. He had such a great spirit, and he gave us some really insightful info about bourbon. We had great experience, and did I mention that the bourbon was fantastic?

Rob and redacted (Sorry I forgot their name!) we're great hosts to this immersive experience into tasting bourbon, learning what flavors work with our palette, and crafting a cocktail to our taste. I would recommend this for someone wanting a fun outing in Lex or for entertaining out-of-towners!

Such a fun, knowledge filled tasting with lovely mentors and the great company of our friends!! A beautiful atmosphere in this establishment!!

Decided to support this business & celebrate by birthday. Owners are great people & I was excited to share a new spot & experience with my loved ones. Had a group of 12. There was another small group of 3-4 so the total packed the tasting room. Everything from lobby/storefront was eye-catching. Tasting Room Set-up was very impressive & intriguing. Our Bourbon "Guide" Tobie was absolutely wonderful. Her presentation on bourbon & personality overall was a major hit with group. Everything we learned & tasted was worth the $25 entrance fee. Had my first Old Fashion (was able to customize the bitters added) & it was delicious. We are already planning to return. Highly recommend!! Looking forward to all The Edwards & Fresh Bourbon have coming to the city!

The experience at Fresh Bourbon was awesome! The bourbon tasting in which my wife and I participated was great. Aaron was the host for our tasting and he was extremely knowledgeable. He was also very patient with us in answering many of the questions we had. The venue for the tasting was very nice and actually quite elegent and the process of tasting the bourbon in conjunction with different tastes and smells really helped us understand the complexities of bourbon and it's taste. Then walking us through the process of making an Old Fashion that aligned with our own personal tastes was amazing. I would highly recommend Fresh Bourbon and the tasting experience to anyone.

My brother did a large portion of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail and I thought I'd take a detour to Lexington on my way to Tennessee. I picked this and am glad I did! My wife isn't a bourbon drinker so I wasn't sure if she would like it but I was wrong. George did a great job explaining the "Fresh" approach to making Bourbon they taking. We met Sean one of the owner's who was very gracious and helpful discussing their business. The tasting was unique and it really highlighted the unique flavors of their recipe. It was a great experience I'd highly recommend and while we had a very intimate tasting with just the 3 of us they can accommodate up to 18 people at a seating. We ended up buying a bottle and their Worcestershire sauce. P.S. I rarely give 5 stars.

Beautiful... Our Bourbon Baroness Tobie provided our group with an amazing Bourbon experience that was informative, fun, lovely to taste and so smooth to have neet. We will definitely be back.

Our first stop on our first trip to Kentucky. Everyone should make this their first experience because we loved it! private, fun, engaging experience in a gorgeous space. Nate was our guide and he even recommended restaurants and other things to do around the area. He hooked us up with a private guide for a day in Bardstown and that was such a fun day too.
