Respected Caterer Closes Its Locally Focused West Seattle Restaurant | Eater Seattle

"After nine years in the busy Junction, I learned that Fresh Bistro (4725 42nd Ave. SW), the West Seattle restaurant operated by respected, locally focused catering company Herban Feast, closed last weekend; proprietor BJ Duff confirmed the news to the West Seattle Blog but did not specify a reason, saying there were multiple factors, and the restaurant has not announced the closure on Facebook, Twitter, or its website. Fresh Bistro focused on local ingredients and a menu of global comfort food, with seasonal highlights such as Goose Point oysters on the half shell, lobster bisque, Carleton Farms pork belly, seared ling cod, and chocolate ganache cake. There's currently no word on what’s next for the space in the Mural building on 42nd Ave. SW across from Jefferson Square and next to the Eater Award–winning cocktail bar Alchemy." - Megan Hill

My husband and I were in glenwood springs for our anniversary and wanted something healthy before spending the day at the hot springs. We both have celiac and to our delight we found fresh choice. This is a family owned restaurant that just opened a few months back - I highly recommend stopping by here! Their family is very nice and the food is delicious!! Really recommend the matcha protein smoothie. It’s so good my husband and I came back for more the next day. 5 stars thank you!!

Delicious, healthy, fresh food offered with gracious service! The staff is so friendly and kind. They have a variety of healthy wraps, sandwiches, soups, and smoothies. The atmosphere is lovely. It is the cleanest restaurant I have been in. We loved our lunch here!

If in the area and looking for something quick nutritious to eat this place is great. They have plenty of other options too, but we are fans of their bowls. The right size and a variety of options. Was a little warm inside but plenty of seating.

I love it here, it's my favorite place to get lunch unfortunately it is not very busy because alike much of Glenwood Springs. It's hard to get people to come to a new restaurant. Hoping people come and enjoy food and yummy smoothies at this small business

Pretty basic place with good food & coffee and excellent service. There were 2 Sheriff's deputies in when I arrived - that's it. Super quiet place. The guy taking the orders, making, and bringing the food out was hopping! Pico de gallo bowl was tasty, but I need to come back for an acai bowl. Prices are great, I think, for main street Glenwood Springs.

The place is ok. But don’t expect quality food here, it kind of look healthy , but the chicken we ate was kinda off , chewy like in McDonald. I would say this place is overpriced, and expect you to tip before you get the food , and then expect you to bring dirty dishes back. What is the tip for then ?

Fresh food made with love! I had the Berry Salad with Chicken and a Hello Summer smoothie with Mango. And LOVE that they have açaí bowls!!! I think it may be the only place in the valley that I know of that has them 🥰

Cute little healthy cafe right downtown. Had their avocado toast and acai bowl. The avocado toast was good, everything was fresh and delicious. The acai bowl was amazing! All the toppings were fresh and plentiful (I like a little bit of everything in each bite), but it was the acai blend that was exceptionally delicious - great recipe! Overall, I enjoyed the food a lot! My only suggestion for the place is to improve the decor. It's kind of gray and bland and the tables are spaced out in a large room so the vibe doesn't match the vibrancy and deliciousness and freshness of the food.

We had lunch but breakfast looked great too! I had a turkey club on wheat, it was delicious. Nicely toasted bread and I made it a meal with chips and drink. Reasonable prices, great service. Simple diner feel. Highly recommend if you want fresh food, nice sandwiches, and maybe some healthy smoothies.

Delicious, fresh options, excellent for vegans and meat eaters alike: bagel and bread sandwiches, soup, nut butter toasts, decorated avocado toast, açaí bowls, apple and berry oatmeal bowls, chia puddings, fresh squeezed juices, delicious smoothies, and more...we loved everything we tried. Great for all ages. Friendly and fast service. Clean and bright space. So happy to have found this gem in Glenwood Springs!

So fresh!! We got the turkey club, a turkey deli sandwich, and two açaí bowls with fresh fruit toppings. I was going to share my açaí bowl with my boyfriend, but he took two tastes of mine and got right up to order his own! The owner was so friendly and helpful, letting us have tastes of the different açaí bowl bases, showing us the sizes of the bread for our sandwiches, and answering our questions. Truly delicious lunch, we're so glad we found this spot! Thank you!
