"A catering and food truck business that has opened the doors to a permanent restaurant space. Located near Codman Square, serves Caribbean American fare and features collaborations with other local food businesses, especially those that work out of Dorchester-based food incubator and commercial kitchen CommonWealth Kitchen." - Rachel Leah Blumenthal

Very nice restaurant, not fancy but pleasantly decorated with Jamaican and nature theme. Also pleasant and lively music, not too loud, comfortable seating inside and outdoor, and clean restrooms. Great options for healthy and vegetarian food, you can also add chicken to a kale salad etc. Fresh and tasty food, in generous portions. Quick and friendly service, the only downside is that they don't serve water. Overall, it's kind of similar to Sweet Green, but feels even better, has a nice character and atmosphere. Very good experience, recommended!

I have only lived in Boston for two years, and I have been trying my best to see more of what the city has to offer! As soon as I walked into Fresh Food Generation, I was greeted with such joyful staff and a beautiful atmosphere! (Even some of the wallpaper gave me some inspiration for decorating my home). I ordered the lamb curry on a bed of rice, and I was not disappointed!!! The rice was perfectly cooked, the meat was flavorful, and the plantains I had on the side I could eat for the rest of my life. I love and respect that Fresh Food Generation is making an effort to bring healthy and delicious options to their neighbors! I can't wait to go back!

It is a small space inside, so be prepared to eat outside or get your food for pick-up and take it somewhere scenic. This is a weird review to write because I had really good tasty, knife and fork worthy, and then I had "what is this?" not good oxtail. So I ordered two plates: 1. Jerk chicken with rice and peas, plantain, and their ginger coleslaw. 2. Oxtail, collard greens, rice and peas, with plantain. The first plate was less spice than normal for jerk chicken, but still so flavorful and juicy, not dry! She pulled it out of the main buffet stain behind the counter where you order. Compostable bowls and recycleable tops are also a clear win for me. It was so good I clean the plate. If I left 2 rice crumbs behind I would be surprised. I ate that in store as I was starving and she said the oxtail was going to take 10 minutes. She took my plate behind another door to the chef section and more industrial kitchen I assume? When I couldn't really smell the oxtail when she brought it out, I should have known right there. The oxtail usually has its own gravy of sorts, but this was like pure oil and no flavor! I was so upset. Some pieces tender and others not. The collards still had too much bitterness in them, and little seasoning. I could barely even taste the other veggies they put because the oxtail grease just coated my tongue. I stopped eating that and just finished the rice and peas with the plantain. Such a bummer! I wanted to get a smoothie, but decided to instead just go get some melon elsewhere for my after dinner treat. I hear the smoothies are great, but I don't know what to tell you about anything else. I also bit down into something and since I couldn't tell if it was a tough piece of seasoning or not I just spat it out. It think the food is worth the trip, just don't get the oxtail. They are wheelchair accessible, and have a bathroom for customers in the lobby. FYI.

Excellent food and friendly service. We got a take out, the place has nice but limited seating. The Jerk chicken plate was my favorite and make sure to get Coconut rice too. Spice level is mild. The service was quick even though we put an order in a few minutes before closing time.

Absolutely DELICIOUS!!!!! I was introduced to their catering service & decided to try the restaurant! Not one single complaint. The arugula salad with salmon was the best salad I’ve had. The staff is amazing! They are currently my weekly healthy splurge!

The only thing that gets a 5/5 was the customer service because they were awesome and very engaging. However, everything else goes downhill from here. I don’t recommend coming here if you’re looking for traditional restaurant vibes or date night experience . Wait time was insane, I waited around 15 to 20 minutes for an empanada and jerk chicken meal with Mac and cheese and red bean stew. The meal was prepackaged in brown cardboard boxes and the Mac and cheese was placed in a recyclable container even tho I came for dine in. Like…… Upon trying the empanada it was extremely oily and overcooked. However it did pair nice with the pineapple salsa and pineapple Fresno. I’m shocked and disappointed to say this but when it came to trying the red bean stew it was cold! 🥶 like legit cold I couldn’t even eat it. Not only was it cold but it severely lacked flavor. Nothing was fresh about that. The Mac and cheese was one of the plainest Mac and cheese I’ve ever had. There was no flavor it tasted like store bought sauce. The jerk chicken wasn’t bad just a little dry and would have elevated the meal if the jerk chicken broth was added to the rice. I believe the question of “fresh” food is up for consideration because why are you serving customers mid food that is cold. Who ever is cooking needs to be checked. FFG is one of my favorite places for lunch and now since their expansion, I look forward to being there for dinner with BYOB too! The curry lamb is my favorite meat and the kale salad with roasted butternut squash is one I could eat everyday! The jerk chicken, ginger coleslaw, collard greens, arugula salad with delicata squash and pecans, and sweet plantains all equally fabulous. Can't get enough of this place!
