READ! Phenomenal food. I got the oxtail, coconut rice, collard greens, pikliz. Seasoned well, pikliz has a nice spice kick. IMPORTANT! I got it as take out. It was an hour of driving before I got home. Oxtail take out container was very moist for a lack of a better term. If longer drive handle with caution as it may rip through from the plenty hefty delicious oxtail and gravy. I didn’t need to reheat to enjoy. Will be coming back again.

For my first visit, I ordered the New Kingston jerk melt with a side of the herbed fries. I also ordered the strawberry mango twist smoothie. It was all exquisite! While I and other customers waited for our food to be prepared, we were given fried plantain chips with (I think) a mild harissa sauce. Also while waiting, I was struck by how they knew the names of every customer walking through the door. Excellent atmosphere, so much delicious and healthy food to try, and great location. I’ll be sure to return!

I’m actually surprised the food did not taste how it smelled. Portions 10/10, freshness 10/10, flavor 4/10. I ordered a jerk chicken plate with coconut rice and sweet plantain and kale Cesar salad. The Kale Cesar was the absolute best thing on the plate. Unfortunately I was expecting some sort of spice when it came to the jerk chicken but overall what I was given was baked chicken. There didn’t seem to be ANY Jerk seasoning at all. The coconut rice also just taste like white rice with a hint of coconut. Sweet plantain were good as well. I would return for the KALE CESAR for sure. The mini curry chicken empanadas were ok. Smelled like curry more than it tasted like curry.

We went mid week and had an amazing dinner. The team and the owners went above and beyond for us. They were super friendly, fun and anticipated our every need. The food was outstanding. Jerk chicken might be the best in the city! The rice plates are creative and you get so much food. The cocktail menu is inventive. The mango margarita was absolutely delicious. The old-fashioned with coconut water ice cube sounds amazing, it’s on my list for next time!

I thought the jerk chicken, wild rice, & red bean stew were delicious. Obviously not 100% authentic but a healthier version which I love & support. The chicken was well seasoned & tender. The beet salad was good, the carrot slivers threw me off though. I did not care for the romesco sauce on the side but happy this came with so many options to begin with at the price point offered. I’d definitely eat here again & I’m looking forward to trying a beverage or smoothie. Also loved the diversity of the clientele.

The customer service was remarkable and very homey I was offered water and fried plantain chips while I waited for my food the young lady with the beautiful fro was so nice two little girls came in from the neighborhood and their bday just passed so she gave them food and lemonade while they kept calling her pretty the salmon was so good and that was my first time having a ginger salad so that was very flavor and the sweet plantains was cooked perfectly the kale salad was delicious as well the fact they had coconut rice and wild rice was the main reason I came I definitely will be returning 🤌🏾

Very nice restaurant, not fancy but pleasantly decorated with Jamaican and nature theme. Also pleasant and lively music, not too loud, comfortable seating inside and outdoor, and clean restrooms. Great options for healthy and vegetarian food, you can also add chicken to a kale salad etc. Fresh and tasty food, in generous portions. Quick and friendly service, the only downside is that they don't serve water. Overall, it's kind of similar to Sweet Green, but feels even better, has a nice character and atmosphere. Very good experience, recommended!

Food: think Caribbean/ Jamaica food without the health comes of good food. My order was the coconut rice, plantains, ginger coleslaw and oxtails plus a hibiscus ginger lemonade. Chefs kiss. Ambience: clean, welcoming atmosphere and interior. Very family friendly. Service: server at the counter was very patient in explaining the concept and menu to me. 10/10

Food: Already can't wait to go back and taste more of their dishes! I ordered a green smoothie, and they were flexible to take out ingredients as requested by a guest I was with but I got mine as is and it was a delicious way of getting my daily greens without being too sweet - they had something for everyone, including small portion options & and a variety of sides for set salty or spicy cravings! I ordered their empanada meal which brings 2 empanadas (larger than I expected) and you can pick from about 4 flavored protein filling options, plus a side of your choice. I choose the sweet plantains. -the empanada were bug, flakey and crunchy in all the right ways with a proportionate amount of filling (I saved 1 of 2 for later) -the sweetened fried plantains were perfectly cooked and ripened ( I've been too places that serve then not as soft or sweet as advertised) - the guests I was with ordered ox tail rice plates, Beet salad, coconut rice, their jersey chicken salad, and we all LOVED the seasoning, flavors, and overall yumminess of perfectly cooked cuisines! Service: We entered in as a semi hectic group of 5 woth one worker up front and she quickly and easily took our orders, answered our questions and was willing to even let us taste the jerk chicken to range a spice level (which was much appreciated!) -throughout our meal we saw chefs and other workers coming through the kitchen or employee areas so it was nice to see there was many hands available if support was needed. Ambiance: Such a nice inviting space and feel with plants cookbooks and store merchandise like spices and seasonings (I know I need to grab next time!) In such a simplistic tone of black and white that make the meals, ingredients and key elements pop. -it was fairly slow but around 1 by the time we arrived and on a weekday so we were grateful as there's only 1 large seating table inside nut there's multiple counter spots and outdoor patio space too! -we almost missed where the trash and recycling were as it did a great job blending in to the overall decor (maybe too well? As the group initially had trouble finding it but they have stickers in black white to indicate them! So we took it to be our newbie status showing) Such delicious food great local spot and good prices so heck yeah I'll be back!

I went to an event with a catered dinner from here, and the food was delicious. There were tons of vegan options, including jerk jackfruit, and everything was well labeled. I particularly enjoyed the stewed coconut red beans and rasta pasta.

I love this place is always updating. Lately they have been doing oxtail fusions. Like their oxtail empandas and they were amazing. They have them every Friday.

I first had this food during a Juneteenth celebration. I had their rice and peas, jerk chicken, and cabbage. It was all delicious. So delicious that afterwards, when I had forgotten the name and was trying to see if I can get to their restaurant, I literally scanned through every Caribbean restaurant in the vicinity until I found it. I've ordered delivery from them a number of times and have never been disappointed. Let me tell you about the oxtail plate. I always get the oxtail plate, with coconut rice, collards, and plantains. There are Caribbean places all around the Dorchester/Mattapan area, and they're hit or miss. I have never, ever had a bad oxtail plate from this place. Large pieces of oxtail, always cooked to the point that the meat is literally falling off the bone. I mean, I can use my fork and never have to pick up a piece. So damn good! Plantains on point, collards flavorful and plentiful. Mmmmm... So yeah, this place is amazing. Eat here.

Good food but unfortunately it made me very sick . I'm in bed right now with food poisoning after calling out of work . I still would come back here because I understand sometimes restaurants have bad days or bad batches of certain foods because of mistakes and like I said I thought the food was good. Staff was friendly and the spot itself was very nice . Would give it another try next time I'm in Boston.

Excellent all around. The salad was a bit more ordinary, but the kale salad was really nice with a mix of flavors and hearty greens. The jerk chicken was moist and tender, and nicely seasoned. The chipotle chicken might even be better! Small flavorful tender bits all around. The mac and cheese was a bit lacking - with there was more cheese flavor to go around. The beans and rice was delicious. The nicest might have been the plantains; they were really not too sugary, but had a nice sheen on the outside and cooked beautifully. So good!

The flavor, healthiness and presentation 10/10 every bite is better than the last. Absolutely recommend.

Ordered catering and was really happy! Huge portions, everything tasted freshly made and was well packaged. Food was filling, hearty, and well seasoned without being salty. This is food that you feel good eating and leaves you satisfied. They were on time and accommodating of various allergies. I would definitely order again!

Amazing service and delicious food!! We ordered catering for a rehearsal dinner and we ordered from here to honor my Caribbean heritage. Everything - the jerk chicken, coconut rice, plantains - was flawless. The food was delivered on time and with care. I couldn't recommend them more and can't wait to order again!!

I ordered delivery after a friend mentioned that she had gone here and liked it. Let me tell you: I was NOT disappointed. I got the jerk jackfruit plate, a veg empanada, a squash and arugula salad, and a side of mac and cheese and hot damn all of it was so good! I can not wait to go check this place out in person. I will note that instead of getting the jerk jackfruit plate, they just sent a whole container of jerk jackfruit. It was so good I wasn't even upset or annoyed about the mistake.

My work had a catered lunch from here, it was so good! healthy and fresh ingredients. the cookie tasted amazing.

The food is sooo flavorful and tasty. The jerk chicken with plantain plus beans stew was my favorite. Also, the bucket of jerk chicken with coconut rice and Hatian beet salad is our go to group order. Great service and super friendly team.

Such great, affordable food! We had a company event and catered Fresh Food Generation. We got the chipotle chicken, red bean stew, coconut rice and sweet plantains, and all was so delicious!! Definitely will be visiting in the future!

The food here is very bland and flavorless. While it could've been an "off" day, I wanted to delineate my observations nonetheless: 1. The food is nicely presented. My meal of jerk rice and beans and plantains and a side of Mac and cheese was very well presented and looked visually appealing. The portion sizes were also very hearty. 2. There was no saving the meal from the lack of flavor. Every single item I received was bland and flavorless. There was no "kick" to the jerk chicken, it was under seasoned and dry and was coated with a spice I could not discern but found very unpleasant (ground clove? All spice? Nutmeg?) 3. The accompaniment of the Mac and cheese was not enjoyable to say the least. While it boasted an appealing buttery crumb topping, it was very dry and pretty flavorless. There was no hint of cheese in this dish at all which made for a very lackluster culinary experience. 4. The greens were under seasoned and equally underwhelming. I had to add my own spices in order to make it semi palatable. In summary, I would not order from this establishment again. While they use fresh and locally sourced ingredients, it is evident they know little about piquing the palates of those accustomed to bold and delicious food flavor profiles.

Boston has good Caribbean spots, but this one has the best quality ingredients, combo of authenticity and creativity, and friendly neighborhood feel. I've had most of the menu, and you can't ho wrong. I love the jerk chicken plate and it's perfect plantains. Vegetarians, the Rasta pasta is wicked good too

Big fan of this truck. I have to say, everything I've tried has been fresh hot and flavorful. The jerk chicken is particularly good and better than the Jamaican truck. The fried plantain is better, as well. There isn't a lot of varied offerings, but this is the rare case where I say they made room for quality. Decent value and service has always been fast and pleasant. 02/12/2020 - tried the applewood pork. Damn. That was good. Everything else was the same. Oh, and Roberta and Rachel are still awesome.

Food is delicious and very well prepared. I also love that they use compostable containers for take out. Definitely check it out!!

We stopped here for lunch today and it was delicious! We got rice plates with the oxtail, jerk chicken, and curried lamb. Most of the meats and sides for the plates are gluten free. The ginger coleslaw was a standout. There's an adorable patio next door for warmer days and it's BYOB after 5pm.

We had an event and used Fresh Food Generation and the food was simply amazing. The chicken and the salad dressing were amazing. There balsamic salad dressing is something special. I eat lots of salads so I know dressing. I know it's just salad dressing but you have to try it I'm serious. The chicken was tender and flavorful. I didn't have a chance to snap a picture of my plate but I will next time. If you are looking for a caterer for an event I'd highly recommend.

Quality, delicious food is what this restaurant does period. Fresh Food Generation delivered the finger licking meal hot, fresh and also healthy and the drinks cold. I served a group of hard working contractors and they were all smiling from the arugula salad, jerk chicken, greens to the deserts. If you want a dining experience second to none, try Fresh Food Generation's delicious foods. You can eat their meat meat, fish or go totally vegan. Try the salmon. I hear the burgers are excellent as well. You will be very satisfied. I also learned that Fresh Food Generation is a restaurant and catering company with a heart and mission. I tried this food truck at the Boston Local Food Festival and if you've had good quality Jamaican food you will not be impressed. I really wanted to like the food too. The reviews were so good, the staff was so nice, and people kept materializing to place orders, so I was more than excited to get my meal when I finally placed mine. I ended up getting the jerk chicken plate with brown rice and curried vegetables, and the meal was a miss for me. The brown rice was bland and the jerk chicken was a bit dry and had a peculiar taste most likely due to the seasoning options. I tried to eat all three elements together and was expecting a harmonious burst of flavors, but all three had very distinct flavors that didn't go well together at all. I only got halfway through the plate and had enough. I'm hoping I just had an off batch but I won't be ordering from here again to test this theory.

I had lunch at an event catered by the FFG food truck today and it was absolutely delicious. Simple, fresh, and tasty. I got the garden salad with jerk chicken and it came with pulled chicken style breast meat in a light yet spicy seasoning on top of greens with roasted sweet potatoes, red onion, and goat cheese with a balsamic vinaigrette. Honestly it didn't sound like much when I read it off the menu but I was very surprised at how satisfying it was when I was eating. The various flavors paired so well with each other. The staff were friendly and service was quick. If I ever come across FFG again I will definitely eat from here!!

This place is such a find! I'm a vegetarian so I'm all about the red bean stew and the incredible sides. Taste is predictable - always amazing. Plus I really appreciate the incredible service and friendly atmosphere - that is also why I keep going back.

Lovely place! Herbed fries and Mattapan mock tail were delicious and the staff were extremely friendly! We got free samples of their new smoothie launch which I am now extremely excited for. Outdoor seating area is just great and inside has a lovely charm and ambience. I will definitely be back!

We usually get the bucket of jerk chicken and some sides to go with it for dinner family style. We really like the kale salad and the beans. Really tasty and healthy meal. The chicken is always delicious, cooked perfectly. Very friendly when picking up my order. Thank you!

A friend told me about this restaurant. She was raving about the taste of the food and how they served generally healthier dishes than other restaurants. I ordered from them once and ended up ordering time and time again. Some of my favorites include the Red Bean Stew Rice Plate, Curried Ground Lamb Rice Plate, Vermont Baked Mac N' Cheese, side of Sautéed Greens, any of the empanadas, Clarke's Vegan Chocolate Chip Cookie, and Natalie's Orchid Island Lemonade. I appreciate the variety of palates that Fresh Food Generation satisfies.

Checked out this healthyish food truck at City Hall the other day, and chose the $9 dinner entree portion (choice of 1 protein and 2 sides plus brown rice). I really enjoyed the herbed potatoes- tons of flavor- and the summer kale salad- large portion of really fresh kale/watermelon/feta/onion. But the chipotle chicken (not spicy), although flavorful, was on the dry side, and the brown rice was bland and hard. So just be aware there are some hits and some misses.

This is a fantastic healthier jamaican restaurant. You can tell they are using a lot of fresh ingredients and their salads are phenomenal. Their chicken is out of control.. lot of jamaican restaurants make their chicken in the mornning and is sitting out there all day in a tray to serve you. This place makes it fresh every time. So so good.

I've been going to the food trucks across from South Station for lunch about once or twice a week for the past few months. Just discovered Fresh Food Generation today and it was hands down the best meal I've had from a truck, plus it was vegetarian. I got the rice bowl with red beans, sweet plantains, and herbed potatoes, and had to go back to give my compliments once I was done. These guys are the real deal!

AMAZING!! So good. We got lunch catered in and everything as amazing. The customer service is great, the delivery woman helped us set up. They were so responsive and helped me figure out amounts to order. We ordered the beef and chicken empanadas, the mixed wrap platter, salads and sides and everything was delicious. Everyone in the office raved about how great it was. Will be using them often!

I'm really excited about this addition to my Roxbury neighborhood lunch options. Though I'm skeptical of food trucks generally, for no good reason other than lack of familiarity, this place has gone a long way to curing my skepticism. First off, they take credit card. So if you, like me, assumed that food trucks were technologically behind, never fear -- you don't need cash to enjoy this food. (And tax is included in the price! What a nice thing.) The prices are super reasonable for the amount of food you're getting too -- eight bucks for a main and two sides! The choices are limited, and aren't really choices -- the two kinds of chicken (chipotle and jerk) taste very similar, to the point that it can be hard to tell which is which. It doesn't really matter though because they are both really very good. Though the cashier warned me that the jerk chicken was spicy, it was not really that hot unless you are literally allergic to spice. I had the bean stew and the coleslaw as sides, both of which were tasty, but especially the stew. In the future, I look forward to coming back and trying out some of the other greens options. Till then, I'll stand by the assessment that this is a welcome addition to the neighborhood. As far as food trucks in Roxbury go, there is some challenge. Another food truck recently vacated the area because they weren't doing enough business. Honestly, this is fishy to me -- there are a lot of people in the area, and as a food truck as opposed to a brick and mortar store, you really have to do the legwork to establish your presence so that people know you are there. This food truck hasn't fled the scene yet, and I really hope they stick it out -- that said, they are only here a few days per week. If you're at Dudley Station, the food truck is incredibly obvious and easy to find though. Buy some food here and help them make a strong argument to stay in the neighborhood.

I have lunch catered for my office and for meetings quite a bit and while there are a lot of great local places that cater and everyone loves a free lunch - my office raves when I have FFG cater. The food is phenomenal (I don't just throw that word around) and is now my "go-to" caterer when i want fresh, healthy food that I know will impress. Their empanadas are life-changing...

I don't know where the photos here came from but my lunch was at least half the size of these. I probably received a half scoop of rice and 3 tiny chicken breast slices in my chipotle chicken rice bowl and the kale salad was surprisingly tiny, maybe 4 bites total. I will say that the food was delicious (especially the fried plantains, omg) and to be fair it was just the right amount that we probably should be eating, just don't expect it to fill you up. The cookie I got was disappointingly dry and stale.

So wonderful. Got lunch from the truck, and had them cater a meeting the following week. Process was very smooth, and friendly. Quality, healthful, delicious food from a group that values more than profit. Highly recommend.

Very delicious food. The ingredients are very fresh and what they are doing is amazing. I tried the veggie empanada and the chipotle chicken empanada. Both were delectable and memorable. Friends also enjoyed the Cuban beef empanada. In addition to the empanadas were all couldn't get enough of the kale salad. The kale tastes amazing and the food is nutritious. I seriously wish I had this recipe. Will definitely get this food again.

Ordered the box lunches from Fresh Food Generation for an important lunch meeting. Food was delicious, showed up promptly in neatly packaged containers, and was eagerly consumed by everyone at the table. Will definitely order again!

A co-worker recommend them after they catered her wedding. Everyone was great from the person who took my order to Jackson who was wonderful, carrying and loading the items to my vehicle. The food was a hit. I'll be using them again and have referred them to several others. You guys are amazing!

There are only so many wows as big as the wow at a retreat I was part of today when lunch came, from Fresh Food Generation. WOW. Fresh, tasty, creative, satisfying wraps, empanadas, fresh fruit, and a kale salad that some non Kale eaters were eating eagerly. Vegetarians and meat lovers all filled up happily. Simple: have them cater a meeting at your business or for a party. Awesome.

I work with many caterers in my position and FFG is one of my favorites to work with not to mention the food is absolutely delicious. I highly suggest using them for any catered event.

I had just had a plate freakout shortly before you arrived! And the food? Enough deliciousness to feed an army! The portions are so generous--leftovers were really good yesterday! The salmon, Brussels, cauliflower and salads were simply great. Hot food was piping hot, and salads cool. I am thinking of having brown rice and chimi sauce for breakfast. Salmon was perfectly cooked, flavorful. The vegetables, salads (beet salad is gorgeous) were fantastic. I loved the dressing too. Several people wanted to know who catered; one friend took photos for her sister for an upcoming event. I'll make sure she has your contact info. And you made this an easy process even as things changed. Please thank everyone who prepared this meal... Many, many thanks. PS: this was a catered dinner party for 17. Fresh Food Generation has catered two dinners for my alumni/ae association meetings and they have been fabulous. At a meeting where many members rarely eat, when we have Fresh Food Generation, people get seconds and thirds! The chipotle chicken is a big crowd pleaser as well as their delicious kale salad. If you have a group with dietary restrictions -- they are a perfect choice because they have many vegetarian, vegan, dairy free, and gluten free options. I would definitely recommend them!

Friendly, helpful employees but the jerk chicken was lack-luster unfortunately. (My perspective as a West Indian.)
