Yelp
The Hard Rock resort and casino is home to many restaurants. One such restaurant, Fresh Harvest buffet serves up an eclectic AYCE seafood smorgasbord extravaganza.
NOTE: Seafood buffet served only from Thursday to Saturday.
For starters the seating was spacious, and there was a comfortable flow between the buffet stations, making it easy to survey the food islands so to speak without feeling cramped.
The variety of seafood was impressive. They offered a little bit of everything. They had carving stations offering prime rib and other meats. Plenty of seafood and non seafood items, from fried to baked and boiled. The superstar of the buffet was the endless amount of snow crab legs that were steamed to perfection, which made extracting the crab meat easy. The raw bar offered chilled shucked oysters and clams with a variety of cocktail sauces. They had a variety of cooked shrimp prepared in different ways. The selection of fish was impressive as I had monk, cod, flounder and salmon.
There is also an Asian section serving up classic stir fry noodles, fried rice, general tso chicken and chicken and broccoli.
The staff was attentive, quickly clearing our dirty plates and refilling drinks without being intrusive. The buffet stations were well-maintained, and everything was replenished promptly. I also appreciated that the utensils and surfaces were kept clean as the staff was on top of their game.
The dessert bar was a pleasant surprise, offering soft serve ice cream, cakes, cookies and freshly made crepes.
While the buffet wasn't cheap, the quality and variety made it feel like a fair deal, especially for seafood lovers. Now not everything was a homerun, but If you're someone who enjoys raw oysters, clams and endless crab legs, you'll definitely get your money's worth and then some.
The all-you-can-eat buffet is an experience worth savoring for special occasions as eating this cuisine too often will drive up your cholesterol levels, but if you must indulge yourself frequently, I guess there's always better living through chemistry with lipitor. Cheers! :)
