Fire Damages Java Monkey Coffee Shop in Decatur | Eater Atlanta

"This nearby eatery that backs up to the damaged building sustained smoke and water damage from the same overnight blaze; the report did not specify how extensive the damage is or whether the location has closed, only that it was impacted alongside neighboring businesses." - Beth McKibben

Ronald was amazing as a server in the Atlanta airport. He greeted me then helped me with the menu and then with ordering. My grilled salmon and scrambled eggs was delicious. Was able to sit in a comfortable little curved booth as passengers wandered by.

Google
“We are so glad for everybody!” Is the welcoming call in addition to the STELLAR SERVICE provided by Mr. Ronald that brings me back every time. Besides the delicious food! I always get the salmon sandwich and this time I tried the plate in Mr. Ronald’s “VIP Section”

Recently while waiting for a connecting flight at ATL, I thought I'd grab a sandwich. The line at Wendy's was too long so I spotted at a place called "Fresh to Order". It's basically a fast food place where you place your order and grab your food when it comes out. However, they had a guy named Ronald waiting on people outside the restaurant. He helped me place my order, found me a table in the generic seating area. Brought me napkins and condiments. Took my receipt and brought me my food. Got me a cup of water which I forgot to ask for. He kept asking if I need anything and cleared my table when I was done. And he did all this with a positive, friendly attitude! Ron is a superhero. I'm sure he's going to be internet famous if he's not already.

Deborah M.

Google
Good fresh food. The highlight is Ron who takes care of his customers with a ton of attention. Hearing his voice telling everyone he is so glad for everyone. He is a classic gem that is hard to find.

Google
saw the great reviews and ordered an Asian Tuna Salad… the tuna was hammered, greasy, inedible. rest of the salad was edible, but the tomatoes were gritty and overall the ingredients didn’t go well together and felt random. waste of $20 for sure.

Getting B.

Google
I pass through Atlanta a lot. I have always been impressed with Mr Ron. He is always dressed sharp and is always hustling making sure everyone is taken care of getting napkins cleaning up etc…. Mr Ron has been an inspiration to my kids as I have brought them to concourse B just to see how much he hustles and does the best job he can. On top of being a very hard worker, he makes everyone feel welcome. He always makes us smile when he stands back and says “So Glad For Everybody!”Please let Mr Ron know he is appreciated.

B Thassanee G.

Google
Ron, the greeter, was fantastic! He was keeping the lines organized, be it the take out line and/or fresh line. And…he was shouting out words of encouragement and positivity. “We’re so glad for Everybody! Everybody is somebody!” What a gem! Looooove his energy!

Carmen & Will B.

Google
Fresh to Order has great fresh food and always high quality year after year. The best part about a breakfast at Fresh to Order is Ron. Ron’s enthusiasm and positive attitude is inevitably contagious. I have traveled the world for many years and Ron is the number one standout employee of any airport I have been to world wide. To me Ron’s trademark greeting IS what makes Atlanta airport shine and my favorite airport. …..Go try a Fresh to Order breakfast and tell me I am wrong, if you don’t walk away smiling, you must have gone to Wendy’s!

Yelp
I was looking for something on the healthier side yet filling, fresh and flavorful and I found it. I had the grilled chicken blt sandwich and it was really fresh and tasty. I absolutely loved the sweet mashed potatoes. They were sooooo good and like a warm hug. Be prepared that it takes a long time to get your order. It seemed like people who ordered directly from the people who worked there when they rang the register got their food faster than those of us at the kiosk.
google avatar

Yelp
I think McDonalds serves better food. My Asian chicken panini was essentially all bread. They put on just enough ingredients to say: "that's on there!" The "chicken" was about 1/8 inch thick, so mostly it was breading. Avocado? Yes! About 1 slice, maybe. The "no line" at the Atlanta airport should have been my first clue.
google avatar

Yelp
Atlanta airport concourse B For airport food this was very tasty. I did self service and entered my order on the kiosk and was pleasantly surprised not to see a prompt asking me for a tip. I ordered the egg sandwich with corn relish and avocado. My order was up within 10 minutes. For $11.74 it even came with a side of home fries that were amazing. Perfectly seasoned, crispy on the outside and pillowy soft in the inside. The bread for the sandwich was lightly toasted and just enough butter to soften the bread and meld the flavors. It was more than filling and reasonably priced. I would definitely grab a bite from here again and would choose it over Paschal's which is a 3 doors down.

Yelp
0/5 tbh It took 30 mins FROM WHEN I PAID, to get my food. And it was literally a sandwich and a chicken skewer plate. The plate I had also tasted like pure sugar. I would've been better off getting Wendy's at that point.

Ronald M.

Yelp
Ordered a chicken club salad for $17 that was supposed to have lettuce, chicken, tomatoes, roasted corn, cucumber, crumble cheese and croutons. What I got was lettuce with two pieces of chicken, croutons and cheese with some honey mustard dressing. A lot of the lettuce was also wilted/had brown spots. At least order attendant was somewhat friendly or I'd give it 1 star. Will definitely pass on this place next time.

Yelp
This is located at the Atlanta International Airport. Easy self-checkout restaurant. Salad are pretty good size and $2.00 if you want to add a protein (we ordered chicken-which were 3 tenders) service was sort of fast. A person would call your order number and if you had a problem you had someone to talk to.

Olivia C.

Yelp
I've been flying all my life and have forever complained about the low quality, awful tasting food at airports. This place blew me away. It is hands down THE BEST airport food I've ever had. Quick, easy, DELICIOUS, affordable (as far as airports go where everything is infinitely more expensive), and on the healthier side with better quality ingredients than most airport restaurants. Obviously I can only speak to what I ordered which was the Grilled Chicken BLT, but I truly couldn't stop saying "yum" and "oh my god this is so good." I actually almost ordered another strictly to taste more despite my hunger being satisfied. STRONGLY recommend.

Yelp
Lunch is served! Great decision to grab food at Fresh2Go in Concourse B's food court area. Items are cook to order, so be mindful on time needed to board your flight; the entry line multiplied as my order was being prepared. The process to order was via self selection portal with all menu options pictured. I selected an entree which included a wheat berry rice and grilled chicken with a Cabernet reduction over a bed of greens. There was also a roll and tasty corn mixture that I discovered upon eating. Add ons were offered and I selected an organic cranberry juice and F2G branded water - was not about to pay $8 again for Fiji! The other beverages purchased were near $4, but that is average airport pricing, unfortunately... Meal cost $15.50, and although a bit pricey I did not feel as if I had been robbed - most food groups were included and lots of protein. There was also an extremely courteous attendant who packaged orders with utensils and napkins. He also assisted with credit card processing as the machine asked for a password for a regular credit card payment (no debit, etc.). Food was really good and happy I got in line when I did as it got busy quickly. Had only been to F2G at Cumberland Mall years ago, and forgot about the good selection of food. There are also a selection of prepared salads, cookies, wraps and chips with own check out portal.

Mary A.

Yelp
The food was pretty bland but that's okay cause Ron (I think that was his name) was delightful, inviting everyone in to come sit being very kind and singing, very very welcoming!
google avatar

Suzanne B.

Yelp
This was my first time trying their food and it was in the airport. The chicken sandwich was made fresh and was tasty. It was just super small! Also, when I ordered fruit on the side I expected some mix of cut up fruit but received a whole apple instead.
google avatar

Yelp
I really don't usually care for airport food, but on this last trip I was stuck in Atlanta over lunch so I decided to see what they had. Fresh to Order on Concourse B has a great selection of food, so I opted for the Grilled Chicken Club Salad. There were a lot of people standing in line to order, but I took one of the prepackaged salads and did a self checkout. So easy and fast! I was not disappointed in this salad. Everything was fresh and it was just what I wanted for lunch. Next month I'll be back so I'm sure I'll stop by again for a delicious lunch.

Yelp
As a flight attendant, that constantly is traveling if I do have time between flights I make the effort to get to terminal B in order to have the salmon southwest salad. it is so delicious right amount of dressing and every time I have gotten this salad I have gotten a croissant that comes with it which is the perfect size. Not only is the food, but the service is even better.. have never been disappointed with any of the items including the sandwiches. I highly recommend it if you are traveling to make a stop. The ambience here is a bit hectic as it is in the terminal.

Yelp
Tried to order from kiosk, but did not receive a confirmation. Moved to counter to inquire and they assured me my card wasn't charged at the kiosk, so I ordered at the counter. Surprise! I was charged from the kiosk, so now have to file dispute with my company and with the bank. Took a VERY long time to receive order (20+ minutes), noticed subsequent people who ordered (successfully) from kiosk received their orders at least 10 minutes before people ordering from the counter. Only reason I'm giving it 2 stars is because the food was good.

Yelp
Ronald's positivity is contagious! He provided excellent service and was incredibly kind.

Yelp
Just fantastic service. So helpful and pleasant. We had vouchers and the staff was just amazing helping us. Well Done!!!
google avatar

Betsy S.

Yelp
I was ordering my salad to go...it is a little silly that you only one kiosk for people to check in and pay when this is a very busy airport. In any event, I ordered a chicken salad with avocado, lettuce, and more (market salad and added chicken)! Very large salad. Not inexpensive- the woman helping me check out was delightful and helpful! The food was pretty good - I just thought the long line and the lack of available or non existent kiosks for check out was why I gave it a 3 star review. It is located in the food court with many other places so since this is relatively healthy I felt that it was a good option. I was able to take my food go sit down near my Delta flight and eat there.

Yelp
My friends and I went to Atlanta for the weekend. While walking down Peachtree, looking for a good place to eat, we stumbled upon F2O. We had passed it many times throughout the weekend, but never stopped. This particular day we decided to stop in and check it out, basically because they served brunch. Low and behold, this was one of the best places that we've eaten at during our stay. We visited the one on Peachtree in Midtown and it was absolutely delicious. The staff was so pleasant and accommodating. When we got our meal, we actually were stunned, lol. First of all, it was beautifully prepared and presented. Second, the food was so fresh!!! I ordered a Mediterranean salad and it was incredible. It was beautifully placed on the plate. Very unique. My friends had sandwiches and from what they said, they were amazing!!! I was so impressed that I started looking for one in my area here in Birmingham but sadly, there aren't any here. I'm so disappointed. If this place was here, I would eat there at least twice a week if not more.

Yelp
Used to be able to order food on the go using Grab. As an airline pilot this was a staple in my weight loss journey as trying to eat healthy is next to impossible while on the road. When I could use app I was able to put in my order as I got off the aircraft and grab it enroute to my next flight. So sad to see this change. There's no way I can eat here now as their food takes way to long to make, which is often a complaint I hear, however they make it fresh so that I definitely appreciate. If any of the management reads this please bring back GRAB! Thank you on behalf of all the airline crew that use this app to order your food.

Alyssa G.

Yelp
Super delicious and pretty healthy for airport food (just ignore the sodium). April greeted me and was immediately kind and engaging, the food came out fast, I will absolutely be dropping back by.

Yelp
It has been years since the last visit. And I have to say I am kinda disappointed. The service by the staffs are nice but omg the order took forever (about 30min). And people who ordered later than me got their food before me. So I was thinking maybe salmon takes long time but nope. People behind me had salmon too. Thank God I had a long sit in ATL. My salmon sandwich had a small piece of salmon and it was falling apart. Panini was honestly soggy and it was missing Avocado which was the main reason I ordered this item. My coworker ordered salmon salad and it looked a lot better than mine. I don't think I am coming back here. The salmon was good but it was not worth the time and money I spent here.

Colleen B.

Yelp
Best salad at ATL. Friendly, courteous staff. I will go out of my way to go to this restaurant at Terminal B! My favorite is the Quinoa Salad with Salmon.
google avatar

Kate F.

Yelp
The worst part of my day was not missing my flight; it was ordering the southwest salad from fresh to order. It was 90% lettuce, and came with a funky ranch dressing. The chicken was drier than a white family's thanksgiving turkey. Afterwards, my stomach hurt so much, I thought I got an allergic reaction. Probably the worst way to spend 16 dollars

Yelp
As a flight attendant, I pick up a lot of meals in the airport. I try to pick healthy options when I can. For this reason I came to Fresh to Order. I ordered a market salad with grilled chicken. In spite of there being a line, I received my order very quickly. It was definitely made to order. The cashier was wonderful. She greeted everyone with genuine warmth. She called me and all the others Love. It made me feel good. Especially since it didn't feel fake. The young lady fixing the food was just as nice. My salad wasn't just good, it was fantastic. The portion size was perfect. The amount of grilled chicken was impressive. The salad used was very high quality and the mix of ingredients was spot on. It was at least as good as anything I have ever picked up in an airport. I was super impressed. I felt like I had eaten healthy and the amount of lean protein on the salad kept me full for many hours. Thank you for providing not just healthy food, but healthy food that tastes great. I will be back soon.
google avatar

Nicole F.

Yelp
100% yes Fresh Delish So happy this place opened up again!!! Only Comment would be wish the salads were a bit bigger. Had to order two for a meal.
google avatar

Minna M.

Yelp
ATL airport has so many choices for food and snacks. I chose this one in particular because the line was short. But I realize now that it was short because everyone but me knows how slow they are. It took a good 20 to 25 minutes to get my food. I took off one star for that. But besides the long wait, the food was delicious. I had the Quinoa Salad Bowl with Chicken. It was definitely very fresh tasting. The portion size was just right. I would come back again as long as I had a lot of time to spare at the airport.
google avatar

Annie R.

Yelp
Was at ATL's airport after a late night connection and scavenging for good as the last 4 places we went to were closed or in the process of closing. This was our only option and at first we were like, awww man! Salad tho?! Then we ate the grilled chicken southwest salad and was like, "mmm this salad tho!!!" Lol moral of the story, don't flake on airport salad. It's good for you and tasted better than a over cooked up pizza would lol

Kalia L.

Yelp
Came to grab a quick salad and drink. Food was good and the service was as well. The girl up front April was so pleasant and patient with all my questions considering they were pretty busy. Would come again
google avatar

Andrea P.

Yelp
Very Slow service, I don't even want to eat it anymore. There where only two orders in front of me but they skipped my order twice , I ordered one item only. I entered my plane last, they made me late. They act like they are in no rush at all and working very slow. Self ordering machines not working, they don't let you know until you approach to let them know that the "place the order button" is not working , they they let you know the machines are not working and they take your order, so much waste of time. It took 25 minutes from the moment I paid to when I received the blt .
google avatar

J M.

Yelp
Concourse B. I liked it. I wanted a something quick and not fried, so I tried the grab and go service. I don't usually like wraps, but this one tasted very fresh, was not soggy, and had a lot of flavor for a simple turkey wrap. I didn't even have to put a dressing on it. Will return next time I'm on Concourse B.
google avatar

Morgan M.

Yelp
I have eaten here twice during layovers on my flights and it's always been good. The food is simple, fresh, and affordable AND the staff are very friendly. It's nice to have a bright spot on my trip when traveling around rushing, grouchy people. Keep up the good work!
google avatar

Tracy S.

Yelp
The salmon burger is amazing! The jalapeños were too spicy for me, but I just picked those off easily. The cashier asked if it was ok that it takes 10 min for it to cook. I had time, so I said yes. I really don't think it took barely 6 minutes for my order to be ready so it felt pretty fast. All of the toppings they put on the salmon burger worked really well together (except spicy jalapeños because I'm a wimp). The corn relish was great. I will be ordering this again. Any day. The mashed sweet potatoes were ok. The nuts on top were crunchy in a good way. They were very hot (steamy) so that was good. I just wasn't that crazy about them, but it was just me. I'd eat here again, definitely! Great, hot, tasty, real and interesting food!
google avatar

Hart P.

Yelp
Fresh to Order makes some of the best quick serve food in the Atlanta airport. All food prepared when ordered. Located in the center court of the B terminal there are plenty of other options but I think they are one of the best. Because of the almost continuous flow don't expect a lot of chit chat, the staff is moving all the time.
google avatar

Eric F.

Yelp
I was here for breakfast. I answered the charming carnival barker's call for food. He's pretty great. The rest of the experience, not so much. It's a self-ordering situation. Big turn-off, but such is the new normal of corporate America I guess. Ordering hint: the coffee is buried at the bottom of an easily-missed scroll down menu. Let's break down their slogan "fine food fast." Fine: if your definition of fine is "good enough", as in "OK, fine, just hand it to me" then you won't be disappointed. Take that as you will. Food: yes, there was food. Nothing special here, pre-fab eggs and bacon. The bread is pretty good. The coffee was meh. Fast: nope. Just nope. Glad I wasn't trying to catch a plane or something. Oh, wait...

Dominique G.

Yelp
Food was good but service was trash. No one at the register to take any orders & when the man did come he looked like a crackhead! He told me to order but kept talking over me to other employees. Extremely rude then asked "are you having a good day?" Like seriously?!?
google avatar

Optimus R.

Yelp
In the heart of the busiest airport in the nation stands a creation of a good concept with hands down a simply dumb execution: Let's put in an electronic ordering kiosk to speed up ordering and not staff accordingly so the food takes 52 minutes to come in an airport. Why would anyone care as no one really relies on return business, if you build an electronic kiosk and put fresh in the name they will come. Once the food came .... The salmon sandwich was actually not bad, still the whole experience really makes this sport a total "meh" in the heart of busy metal birds climbing the sky.
google avatar

Crista G.

Yelp
This is my first time back dining here in a while. They've made a few changes. First thing I noticed is the fact they have less staff. You now have to order on the kiosk which is fine (maybe it moves things along faster). The nice man that use to be out in front is no longer there I use to really enjoy seeing him. The salads are smaller and you don't get a whole croissant it's a half of one. The prices have increased. Shrinkflation at its finest. Higher prices, smaller product. This use to be my favorite restaurant here but I think that will be my last time visiting. I want my whole croissant
google avatar

Celina G.

Yelp
Food is excellent as always. I'm glad I can find some healthier, quality food while traveling. The rest of my travels will probably be all carb loaded snacks. I like all the Fresh to Orders because I can get good protein and greens at least once during my travels. The staff at the airport is very friendly. The staff behind the counter is amazing. And even though they have a new more efficient ordering system, you can still get help behind the counter from a very helpful gentleman. And the gentleman that helps out in front of the counter is a delight.

Yelp
Off the plane I was starving. Walked into the food court and saw a bunch of options. This was one and we stopped to take advantage of it. Breakfast to order. I asked the lady behind the counter if shed liked the southwestern eggs. She said she had never had the corn salsa on eggs but had a lot of orders for it. I did end up ordering the southwestern with the corn salsa and avocado. I got it as a meal. The meal includes scrambled eggs, a mini biscuit and then some fried potatoes. Hubby got the sausage and egg meal. We both had our own drink but our meal fed us well. We both ate for $14 and change so pretty well for airport food. Don't be expecting fast food, they cook it all as you order.

Izabel G.

Yelp
I ordered a mozzarella sandwich and got no mozzarella in it just a little Mexican cheese blend. The host was really nice and made sure I had napkin. Would have been better if I had what i ordered . I feel like I paid for something that I didn't get . The sad thing is that the flavor was good and the food was ready quick . Again I can't give more then 1 star for been ripped off .
google avatar

Melissa G.

Yelp
It was meh but probably one of the best options in this specific terminal. I had the chicken sandwich that comes with chips. It took a while to be ready so I guess it was made to order but I was looking at my watch the whole time and getting anxious because my flight was going to start boarding soon. As I mentioned. The chicken sandwich was okay. I was expecting mediocre food in a fast food airport counter and that is what i got.

Yelp
Best service ever! Latisha was my cashier, she ensured she asked if I was paying with a card as that was all she was accepting at the time. She looked at my card and said my name right! Even asked if I wanted water to wash the sugar down, I declined but I appreciate the thought! I ordered the eggs and bacon platter which featured hash browns and a croissant (delicious). Not sure what was on the croissant but it was flaky and flavorful! The potatoes were various colors including orange and purple and also scrumptious...well spent $8! Ronald out front was a breath of fresh air, welcoming everyone, finding you a seat, cleaning the tables, etc. I would've sat there another hour just to watch him but I have a flight to catch!!

Yelp
Had a long layover at Hartsfield international airport in Atlanta and was craving a good salad. Right out of terminal B there's this little place with wonderful choices; if you have the munchies for healthy food. I ordered the salmon over spinach salad, yummylicious! They give you a healthy serving of spinach topped with thin Sticks of green apple, strawberries, blue cheese, slivered almonds, cranberries, and a small crunchy croissant, best of all the salmon steak was pretty big, I would ease the sweetness of the berry vinaigrette not necessary for good flavor in my opinion. Fast service, fast food good food for airport food.
google avatar

Haj R.

Yelp
One of the few options with a short line during a lay over in Atlanta. I came at the peak of the dinner hour and was sad that I could only had 2 panini's to chose from (there were 5 choices). They said they didn't have items for the other sandwiches. So my wife and son could either have the BLT or Club panini. The sandwiches took a long time to make. When I saw that people who ordered after me get their orders, I asked where my order was and they said they were working on my order (I looked over the counter and they hadn't even started). It looked like they were trying to close up (it was only 9 pm). Order was expensive and the sandwiches were not that great. Highly disappointing. Next time I am in Atlanta I'll wait longer and get Wendy's across the way. Hope others had a better experience here.

Yelp
Southwest "eggs" with "salsa" and avocado? I try to be open to fair attempts to make food, especially in the airport, but this is plainly pathetic. These prepackaged and partially cooked eggs were inedible. The salsa consisted of microwaved pieces of corn and three tiny pepper chunks. Avocado? I don't see it either. Good thing the biscuit, rather croissant, was a little bigger than a quarter lest I would have had nothing to eat.
google avatar

Stephanie Michelle P.

Yelp
I am solely writing this review because of the man who gives out your orders when it is ready - he needs to be recognized! He truly seems to be happy to be there and working. He greets all the customers getting in line and offers you a menu to read if you can't read the tv screen menus. He calls the number, confirms your order, and reminds you to grab your utensils for your food. But since I'm here, I'll review my food. Lol. I had the southwest chicken panini. It's shredded chicken, cheese, some sauce, and a couple pieces of lettuce. It was actually much more delicious than I anticipated. Yes, it's as good as the picture looks. I just wish it had a little more lettuce on it. I got Mac & cheese as my side and it was okay. It was extremely greasy - to the extent that it splattered on my pants just by sticking a fork in it.

Yelp
37 minutes for a regular chicken ceaser in a shame. Although the nice lady tells you 10-15 minutes
google avatar

Yelp
Fresh and always on point! My go to quick grab When transitioning thru ATL! Must try the salmon panini and the sweet potatoes.

Yelp
Ok, so my intention was to eat as "healthy" as possible before my flight. For the most part, I succeeded. I ordered the Asian Salad with Almond Crusted Tuna. And, I promise...while I was standing in line, I was questioning my own rationale for getting Ahi Tuna from an airport location. Guess I was feeling adventurous! Um no, major fail. My Ahi Tuna was not seared, just raw. Plus, it was inedible because of the stringy sinew, which was not removed. Ugh. The remainder of the salad wasn't bad, but oh how I wish I added Grilled Chicken instead. Beyond the food, the line was a bit slow and the "Greeter" was personal, albeit way over-eager. He yelled every word to me while I was in line...ouch, my ears! Then, he smashed my feet in his attempts to seat me at a table...ouch, my feet! Two Stars because I paid nearly $16 and couldn't eat the "best" part of my salad. For the airport, it's still ok for healthy-ish eating, but I'll go elsewhere next time. Happy Eating and Traveling!!!

Yelp
Fast fresh food, don't see that often at an airport. They currently have a pretty limited menu bit still 4 salads and paninis each to choose from. I had the club salad with chicken, was quite good and reasonably priced for an airport. $13 or something like that. They skimped a bit on the avocado but overall a good experience. Also great portion size, not too much but a good amount of food.
