Sightglass Coffee Opening in LA With Food From Brett Cooper of SF | Eater SF

"Responding to San Francisco's new cash-acceptance requirement, casual Vietnamese chain Freshroll said that taking cash can be difficult for business operations, slowing down service and raising security concerns; the owner warned it 'puts a significant amount of pressure on the restaurant to perform better financially and make ends meet.'" - Caleb Pershan

Google
Great food, great service! I order catering from Freshroll monthly for my office. It is always fresh, delicious, and arrives on time. It's also super helpful that they give us labels with ingredient info for folks with dietary restrictions. I usually work with Chad and he follows up to make sure all went well each time!

Trina C.

Google
We used Freshroll for office catering and were really pleased with the experience. The food was fresh, flavorful, and offered plenty of variety. The shrimp was especially popular with the team. Everything arrived on time and was clearly labeled, which made setup easy and ensured everyone could find what they needed. We’ll definitely be ordering again!

We had a mixer for 40 people and we ordered from Freshroll. They were so easy to work with. The food was awesome. I would highly recommend Freshroll for any corporate catering needs!

Google
Freshroll is a great place for either catering or lunch on your own. I use them most often for catering for the office. It is always on time, hot, labeled, and set up in a flash. The build your own bowl is a crowd pleaser that way even the pickiest of eaters are happy!

Google
Ordered for a work event group of 40. The whole staff was so complimentary of everything especially the sauces. It also the perfect menu to accommodate different dietary preferences.

Google
I came here to pick up lunch for a meeting. It has a simple order system online where you can customize each bowl or roll for each person. For myself, I got the lemongrass pork spring rolls with house sauce. It was decent but it wasn't anything super amazing. The lemongrass pork had good flavor, but everything else relied on the extra sauce for flavor. The house sauce was pretty good. Overall, it was decent for a quick meal, but it wasn't something that I would rave over.

Google
True to its name, the rolls' ingredients are fresh, simple and flavorful. I also recommend any of their standard bowls. For those working in the Financial District, Freshroll is an excellent option for lunch.

Google
Please check your receipt. They hide a 5% surcharge within the tax section. Only caught because the order was $10 and it was easy to see. Seems other reviews at all locations point to this as a longstanding issue at their three locations for about the past year? Benefit of the doubt: maybe it’s a mom and pop that are in over their heads? Nope. Their “About Us” page touts that one co-founder worked in finance, and the other has a law degree. Also not included anywhere on their webpage or menu as of 4-29-25. Edit: Owner responded that the 5% surcharge is for employees. Which I already understood. The issue is (1) it not being listed anywhere on the menu or website, which is a legal (and common sense) requirement; (2) it being rolled into sales tax which is, quite literally, fraud, especially if those taxes weren’t remitted to the state and were kept, as seems to be indicated by the owner.

Yelp
Fresh Roll is one of my go-to lunch spots! The order process is always quick and easy, which makes it perfect for a busy day. Everything is so yummy -- I especially love the Saigon Swag with the peanut sauce, it's so refreshing! The staff are always kind and welcoming too. Highly recommend if you're craving something light, fresh, and delicious!

Yelp
I've visited Fresh Roll a few times & usually get a shrimp roll & a chicken roll (to go) & I prefer grandma's peanut sauce as a dipping sauce (I'm old school) but I decided to try a bowl yesterday & I think that I have a new favorite. I was originally going to get a rice noodle bowl but the garlic noodle bowl caught my eye when it popped up on the menu. The bowl comes with tender chicken & broccolini. I originally thought that the bowl would be too big to eat in one sitting, but it was so good that I ate the whole thing when I got back to the office. With return to office mandates, I've Fresh Roll to my rotation of lunch places. Can't beat their prices too!

Yelp
Tried a bowl with the chicken my first time and it has got me hooked. When I want to eat light but powered through the day, the rice rolls with the peanut sauce is my go to. Great that I can order online or even in store for quick service. I can see my rolls made fresh. The employee rolled mine to perfection today. The chicken was spread evenly.

Yelp
I used to come here all the time. But changed jobs and offices and now I'm a few blocks further away. I went back last week for the first time in years and remembered how good it is. I exclusively get the fresh rolls, although they offer much more. They used to offer three fresh rolls at a set price. Now you can order the fresh rolls à la cart. At five dollars per fresh roll. It's one of the best deals downtown. It's like a super fresh salad in your hand. I always get the grilled chicken. It's so good and you feel good eating it. I try to look closely at the prep area and it always looks clean. They installed automated order taking machines. These are fine because they speed the process up, but they do not allow you to make small modifications like adding jalapeños. :-) Request: Please add jalapeños as an option on the ordering screen. Thank you. Overall, in the last two weeks, I've been there three times and will probably go back again, at least once more this week . Highly recommend fresh roll.

Yelp
This my go-to for lunch weekly! I can only speak for the fresh rolls which I would deem as yummy and yes, fresh. One of the more affordable, grab and go lunch spots according to FiDi standards. I want to really spotlight how amazing these workers are! The rushes are so busy but they really power through it. I keep coming back because everything is always consistent. The service in my experience here is great. The inside is fairly small so not somewhere you can rely on having a spot to eat but I usually take my meals to go.

Yelp
I have been on the garlicky noodles hype for a while, but today for some reason had the lowest portions I'd ever seen. I asked for extra chicken and it looked even less than if I had asked for the regular portion and barely any noodles were in the bowl. I think something that can be improved here is consistency in the order. I do appreciate how efficient and simple it is to get your order completed here.

Linna B.

Yelp
First and foremost. $6 for ONE is insane. 2. The guy making them used his wrist to wipe his nose mulitple times without washing. They aren't welcoming when you come in. And take a whole to make One roll. The rolls looks slapped together.
google avatar

Yelp
Used to be great but it appears there is new ownership - within past 6 months or so? Proteins in rolls are of lesser quality with little attention paid to over cooking. Flavor balance is off and choice of sauces is limited with online pickup orders. It saddens me, but I won't be back.

Yelp
I order from Freshroll for delivery frequently. When they get things right, it's fantastic - especially for the price. Unfortunately, they often get the sauces wrong. It doesn't "ruin" the order but takes it from 5 stars to 3 stars - hence my 4 star rating. They won't allow for special requests so I can't reiterate the sauce order. And there is no way to reach the store via phone. Hopefully they'll see this and pay a little more attention. It doesn't seem like a hard thing to do - just follow the order when it comes to the sauces...
google avatar

Yelp
Usually I think of fresh rolls as an app but oh boy these 3 fresh rolls left me STUFFED. I ordered 2 chicken rolls and 1 pork roll, paired with the nam nam sauce, peanut sauce, and citrus ginger sauce. Each sauce was a bit sweet and paired super well with the rolls. The rolls were packed with vermicelli noodles and veggies. I wish there was a bit more protein but otherwise they were really yummy!

Yelp
The truffle crab fried rice blew me away. There was a good portion of crab inside and combined with the truffle made it taste heavenly!! The rice was fluffy and not overly fried. I highly recommend this dish especially if you're a crab or truffle lover! The spring rolls, known as fresh rolls here, are also really tasty. They are filled with lots of veggies, noodles and comes with a side of sauce. There are several sauces you can choose from but I personally prefer the NamNam sauce. I recommend the Vietnamese vinaigrette or the peanut sauce if you prefer the traditional Vietnamese sauces for your spring rolls. But there are so many sauces to choose from so don't be afraid to branch out - the staff can also let you know which sauces pairs the best with certain dishes. Sometimes, I even order food from here via delivery whenever I crave food that is yummy yet healthy! Overall, a solid place for Vietnamese food in FiDi. Check them out!

Yelp
Decent Vietnamese noodle bowls. The fish sauce is definitely engineered for more American palates but it's fishy enough to where you wouldn't offend someone at work at a post-lunch meeting. I ordered mine from meal pal so it came with rice noodles, chicken, cucumber, picked carrot and daikon, cilantro. Sans herbs like mint which is very un-vietnamese like. It was a decent portion, my main complaint is the chicken was so lacking in flavor and dry that I had to request this delicious yet naughty mayo sauce they had just to cure the dryness.

Yelp
I really liked this place. I came here for a quick lunch since it's close to my work. The line was really long, but it moved pretty fast. This place is a Chipotle-style restaurant, where you go down the line with the attendant and tell them what you want in your dish. I got a bowl with half salad, half brown rice, lemongrass pork, standard toppings, and the garlic sauce. It was a large amount of food! I was not able to eat all of it during lunch, so I had some leftover for the next day. Overall, I would definitely come back. This is a great place for a quick, healthy lunch.

John S.

Yelp
The review is only for one dish - the Hot Garlicky Noodz. It is the first thing I got here, and it is the best noodle bowl I've ever had. I can't bring myself to try anything else. I get it with chicken, which is tasty and plentiful. But it's the garnishes that make the dish - chopped green onion, sliced jalapeños, pickled red onion, and broccolini for a green veg. The spice level is perfect if I have a little jalapeño with every bite.

Yelp
For part two of our weekly office lunch, I decided to try Freshroll. Our delivery order arrived via Caviar on Thursday, August 2nd around 12:15pm. Custom Single Freshroll: Special roll with choice of protein and vegetables, Comes with noodles inside by default ($4.49) *Grilled All-Natural Lemongrass Pork *Jalapenos *Tangy Citrus Ginger: Contains soy sauce *Vietnamese Vinaigrette *Mint *Cilantro *Pickled Veggies *Lettuce *Bean Sprouts *Cucumber (+$0.49) *Carrots (+$0.49) *Jalapeño (+$0.49) *Mint Leaf (+$0.49) *Note: no noodles Since I added so many extras, my roll ended up being $6.45. It was a big freshroll though. I did wish they made the additional fillings less in price as you pay the same thing when you add toppings to their three roll orders. If getting one roll, it should be less, right? Taste wise, the roll was great! I liked the vietnamese vinaigrette as I like nuoc cham. Especially if I add sambal to it. The other sauce was little too thick and creamy for me. My only complaint about the roll is that they put noodles in there when I noted no noodles. I figured they just don't do rolls without noodles, but a coworker noted the same thing and she didn't have noodles in her roll. I also ordered a Side of Pho Broth: A side of our all-natural chicken pho broth, with white onions, cilantro, and scallions ($2.49) as I adore soup. This was tasty. Clean with a meaty flavor. There wasn't a lot of cilantro, scallion, etc, but I keep chopped green onions in the fridge at work, so I added some for texture. Based on my enjoyment of the roll, I want to give them four stars. But knocking them down one since my roll had noodles. And for the price of the added ingredients to only one roll. It really should be cheaper.

Yelp
Came for lunch on a weekday and ordered a bowl with vermicelli noodles. The bowl is hefty and filled to the brim but it does not taste very good. There is not much flavor in the food, and there's not enough sauce. Overall probably won't come back

Yelp
This is by far my favorite go-to lunch spot around work. I've also been to the other Freshroll locations on Kearny and 4th St, but this is my favorite. The Kearny location is tiny, and they don't even make your order in front of you there. There's usually a line with ~10-20 people during peak lunch time here, so I try to come here before noon or after 12:40pm. Alternatively, you can order ahead via partner apps for in-store pickup. I usually come here for a bowl, and I customize my base to make it half-salad/half-noodle. I've tried several different base combinations, and I found this to be filling but not overly carby that I fall into a food coma at my desk by early afternoon. I'm not a big fan of ginger, but my favorite sauce to get here is the citrus ginger. I've also tried the freshrolls and banh mi, which are really tasty as well. The banh mi is big enough to be split into 2 meals if you're not overly hungry, and the creamy, orange namnam sauce is so delicious. Fun fact: Although the namnam sauce isn't displayed as an option for sauces to select at checkout, you can personally ask for it. Allergy note: Once, a cashier (a new guy who wasn't the typical woman I'm used to seeing behind the cash register) accidentally gave me a container of the peanut sauce when I had asked for citrus ginger sauce. As a regular here, I noticed it didn't look quite like the right sauce. But he just kept telling me it was citrus ginger, so I didn't question him another time. By the time I got back to my office to try the sauce, it was indeed peanut. Luckily I have no allergies, but definitely be cautious if you're allergic to peanuts! Lastly, don't forget to ask for a stamp card at checkout. You'll probably be back for more food, so why not work your way to redeeming a free drink/meal?

Yelp
To be honest , food is not tasty. Service is slow even when they look fully staffed, I always have to wait about 25-30 mins for either one roll or a mini sandwich. Also seems like their online orders are of priority so if you walk in you're waiting and not for 10-15 mins. Also there's cross contamination going on , yes gloves are always worn but the employees touch other surfaces with the same gloves. They hold the cleaning rag and touch your food with the same ones on , refrigerator doors are opened to grab ingredients and then the food is touched.

Yelp
I didn't stand in line but ordered through the Ritual app. It takes about 15-20 mins from order to pick up. Is this location having a vermicelli shortage?? My rolls barely had one handful in each roll and one of the rolls had TWO single noodles. I don't know if this is a Ritual problem or a in-house problem but the app doesn't even let me pick vermicelli as an add on or an additional item so its a "free" ingredient. Add more vermicelli to the rolls! The rolls here are pretty Americanized, but the ingredients are really fresh. I ordered custom rolls, but the app only lets you pick one kind of protein for all 3 rolls, so I went with pork. It was a little dry but very flavorful. Their veggies are crispy and fresh. The roll could be rolled a little tighter. As soon as you bite into it, it falls apart.

The H.

Yelp
Edit to add: With the order being walked away from in the middle of prep, it was bound to be wrong. I ordered 2 shrimp rolls with an upcharge of $1.50 each rolls for my choice of protein and 1 tofu roll. I rec'd 2 tofu rolls and 1 shrimp. So now I paid extra for poor service. I only ever order 2-3 rolls. I normally order online and pickup just fine about once/twice a month. I also normally order before the lunch rush around 11-11:30. This has been going on for about a year now. A pickup earlier this month had me starting to question service. My order was NOT ready, but that day a worker started it immediately and was done in about 5 mins. That day I also happened to order later after 12 and pickup was 12:30pm. I figured it was an anomaly since the rush started and went about my life, happy to eat my rolls. Today (3/26/2024) I ordered at my usual time 11:30am. I left the default pickup time and it selected 11:40. I showed up at 11:45, 5 mins AFTER it was supposed to be ready, and it wasn't even started. Another 5 mins went by before #1 started working on it. 1 was completed and in the tray, the other 2 were laid out on the counter, almost done when 2 customers come in, 1 saying her order was supposed to be done 10 mins ago, yes well mine was too at this point, the other asking about a doordash order. Another worker (#2) started helping the doordash guy and the third worker (#3) started on the 10 mins ago order. When the #2 guy said he doesn't see the order, #1 who was working on my order stops putting my ingredients on and starts talking to the doordash guy. Now 2 people are looking into the mystery doordash order that didn't show up on their tablet. #1 now removes his gloves, take doordash guy's phone and starts working on his order, leaving my unfinished order laying open on the work counter. Now my order is just sitting around, open ingredients, not being worked on while workers are walking back and forth working on the orders they were working on, leaning over my open order to reach the trays and lids on the counter. Eventually #3, who was not even working on my order looks at it and comes by to finish it. No, not building me a new FRESH one, continues the 2 shrimp rolls that have now been sitting on the counter for the last 7 mins, explosed to whatever is floating in the air as people walk by it. All #3 did was added shrimp and rolled it, less than 1 min of work left. I finally walked out with my NOT FRESH order at 12:05. This level of service is ridiculous. #1 should've said let me finish this order and I'll be right there to #2 and the doordash guy. I'm so disappointed. I loved their rolls so much I actually stopped eating spring rolls at other vietnamese places because they've ruined them for me, but now with my tainted ingredients being served, I don't know how I'll want to go back. Plus who knows if they track customers like me who complain and blacklist them. I always order online with my square info... such a sad day, even my rolls can't make it better today :(

Yelp
Yeah so i think I've found my favorite place for a quick lunch in SF's financial district. Long story short, this place is basically Vietnamese chipotle. I got their bowl, and it was amazing. I got vermicelli as the base, and topped it with lemongrass pork. The vermicelli noodles harmoniously blended in with the rest of the bowl, and the lemongrass pork was mouthwatering. You get a bunch of veggies and toppings on there too, including cucumber, lettuce, cilantro, carrots, radish, bean sprouts, crispy onions, and more. It reminds me a lot of a banh mi or a Vietnamese rice plate. Lastly, you get 2 sauces with your bowl. I recommend the peanut sauce and the citrus sauce. Absolutely delicious. The Vietnamese vinaigrette is basically fish sauce, and the sweet chili sauce is nice if you like spice, but overall aren't as good as the first 2 sauces i mentioned.

Yelp
Freshroll is located at my old stomping grounds. Things sure have changed quite a bit since I worked in this area. The line here moves quickly as they follow a "Chipotle style" ordering system. The menu is easy to navigate and you're able to mix and match the rolls as well. I decided on the Lemongrass Pork as that one looked the most appealing to me. I was absolutely right because the first bite was delicious. I went with the "standard" fillings and extra jalapenos for that perfect kick. There are several dipping sauces but I decided to go with something traditional, Grandma's Peanut Sauce. I think that one is by far the heaviest on the calorie count but who's counting anyway? Haha. I also tried the taro chips as they looked very crispy and light. They were deep fried and did not taste a least bit oily. Taro is good for you! I would snack on that over a bag of potato chips any day. There is also an option to order online. If you hate waiting and want to make a b-line for the cashier, give it a try. Otherwise if you're not in a hurry the line moves rather quickly. It was such a nice day that I decided to eat out. If you decide to dine in there are limited tables here. It can also get pretty stuffy so I would advise that you take your meal to go.

Yelp
Instead of going to Equinox I was eating a huge burrito on the steps in front of it and saw some skinny gurl eating 3 tofu fresh rolls. She then had the nerve to ask me where do they even serve high calorie burritos? Like omg, this was my leftovers from last night. Anyways.... To prove that I can eat something that is not juror, I finally tried this fresh roll place and thought it was good and a quick bite! Also the line is pretty long, I guess it takes some waiting to look good :( After you hit the front of the line, you can get a spring roll, a bowl, a Banh (choice of one of five proteins--extra charge for shrimp and steak). Honestly, I don't think it's necessarily healthy but it's a quick and not too heavy meal for lunch. I definitely recommend the pork or the Tofu! And if you are gonna do spring rolls -- do the 3 roll combo. It's 3+ each roll if you get singles, so might as well go big! Pair this with their great selection of sauces - ginger, peanut, soy sauce lol, this cool sauce called sriracha and you got yourself a full meal!
google avatar

Kristie C.

Yelp
20 minute wait for chipotle-style bowl/spring roll or sandwich. pros: + healthy options + lunch under $10 cons: - 20 minute wait - mediocre sauces $9.50 for 3 Chicken Spring rolls. Not bad, enjoyed the pickled vegetables - but the sesame ginger dressing and the vietnamese vinaigrette weren't anything out of the ordinary. TLDR? Decent food but wait is atrocious. Would take Dragon Eats spring rolls over this place.

Yelp
Just in time for the much anticipated opening of the spanking new Target Express, Freshroll decided to open a second outlet right across the street. I do ask myself what my life has become when I get excited about the imminent opening of a mini-Target, but then I see Jamie W.'s palpable excitement and realize I am not alone in my cloistered suburban sensibilities. After all, the big breakthrough was when Target opened at the Metreon revitalizing a retail space that previously looked like a prime candidate for the wrecking ball. Perhaps following the same path, Freshroll looks like it's trying to duplicate its own success at the Metreon by arriving on Bush where ironically another like-minded chain, Freshii, previously failed. Judging from the opening week queues, the reality is that there is a built-in appetite among FiDi workers for their Chipotle-style operation. One marginal disappointment with this specific location is that they weren't able to secure a permit to allow them to make the pho bowls. They can sell you the chicken pho broth for what it's worth at $1.99 but not the whole shebang. So I had time to ponder my alternate strategy while in line with the overhead menu front and center (photo: http://bit.ly/1Aa0i73). I decided to go for the $8.49 Specialty Rolls, a trio where I could sample the Lemongrass Pork, Roasted Chicken and Baked Tofu at the same time (photo: http://bit.ly/1MkcOGX). The "standard" packaging would suit me fine - lettuce, bean sprouts, cilantro, cucumber, crispy shallots, pickled veggies and jalapeños. I threw caution to the wind and paid the $0.99 surcharge for avocado, and to top it off, among the four sauces they offered, I went with the richest one, Grandma's Peanut Sauce (photo: http://bit.ly/1E0GioO). Wait, there's more. I also ordered a $1.99 bag of their Homemade Taro Chips to add a little sweet crunch to my lunch (photo: http://bit.ly/18u6Nd7). When I got back to my office to gorge on it, I have to admit I was surprised I enjoyed it, especially the roast chicken selection, since my memories of their Metreon operation are less than charitable when I tried the salad bowl on a couple of occasions there. I have yet to try those here or the sandwiches, but I probably will and hopefully won't be disappointed. Meanwhile, the three roasted chicken rolls will do me just fine. FOOD - 4 stars...the rolls rock for a lunchtime option amid the salads and sammies in the immediate vicinity AMBIANCE - 3 stars...tight quarters for dining in but just fine for a take-out spot SERVICE - 3 stars...new, enthusiastic and predictably programmed TOTAL - 4 stars...a chain that appears to be improving over time by following Chipotle's success formula

Yelp
Another Chipotle-esqe fast casual restaurant, this one focusing on Vietnamese food with summer roll, sandwich and bowl options. I like summer rolls and I really appreciate the freshness of them being made to order. Overall, a good experience except for the protein seeming a bit too skimpy and too room temperature. Fresh Roll with "The Standard" & Crispy Goodness: The Standard is pretty standard, essentially the same mix of veggies and noodles you'd expect from a traditional Vietnamese joint. The Crispy Goodness is a pastry wrapped scallion that runs the whole length of the roll and adds a scattering crunchy texture to each bite. It's kinda like having a mini spring roll hidden instead of a summer roll. I'm a fan of texture mixing, so I liked it. Lemongrass Pork: Liked the marinade. Probably would have been better if warmer. Grilled Chicken: Didn't really stand out, was kind of boring protein. Crispy Tofu: Had a smoky marinade. Though it was fried, it wasn't really that crispy... at least not compared to the Crispy Goodness. Grandma's Peanut Sauce: Like the typical peanut sauce, but less thick and peanut buttery. I've had better. Citrus Ginger: Appears like a salad dressing, but also like a really tangy dipping sauce. Chicken Pho Broth: Refreshing, kinda like bone broth before bone broth was a fad. Might have had a bit too strong a cinnamon taste though.

Yelp
yum! I'm glad to find this restaurant here in SF. I love spring roll here. They always make it fresh and tasty. I definitely come back here whenever I am in town. Totally recommend it !

Ordered a bowl with sauce on the side. Got back to the office, and they had no sauce. You know how gross plan cold rice noodles taste for lunch?

Yelp
This is my most frequented MealPal location. The fried shallots on top of the bowls bump it up from 4 to 5 stars because it gives the bowls the extra crunch that they need. The papaya salad bowls are great.

Yelp
Food 8/10 Space 8/10 Service 7/10 Price point 7/10 Delicious fresh lunch spot! but $2 for a side of pho broth or $1 for three shards of green onion is cray. Service was a bit slow, but I'm used to NY speeds. Roll portion was perfect, but i think broth should be a dollar no more. Giving a conservative rating of 3 because I found a piece of the blue cloth fiber in my rice skin. They wipe down the boards with blue microfiber cloth sometimes after each use and it falls apart on the board. I think they should be rinsing the board after each use, not wiping.

Yelp
Their chicken rolls is one of the best things I've ever eaten! I'll probably become a regular here and will eat these chicken rolls until I can't take it anymore. All kidding aside, their rolls are very tasty and fresh. My new favorite place.

Yelp
Good place to eat if you want something clean and light. The bowls are more food, but I like the aesthetic of the rolls (lol). They're sort of messy to eat, but they're satisfying and make you feel like you're not going to die early. The first time I went, I asked for jalapeños. Regrets. I had to run to sharetea to calm my burning insides. If you're not thaaaat into jalapeños, I'd avoid getting the spicy option.

Yelp
Having just moved to SF I was thrilled to see a pretty healthy lunch spot so close to my office. The portions are huge, they have great sauces and everything is super duper fresh. The lines can get pretty long but they keep things moving pretty fast. I think the prices are pretty reasonable for how much food you actually get. I am a fan of their garlic shrimp fresh rolls. If you have a bigger appetite you can opt for their noodle bowls or a sammie. Their toro chips are to die for as well. If your looking for a healthy lunch that isn't a salad, this is your spot!

Yelp
Kinda disappointed in this one. First of all coming into the store I thought I was ordering Pho, but it was really hard to understand the lady behind the counter. I ended up getting a chicken bowl which has noodles and vegetables and the chicken. I found out you can order Pho broth for extra, but just one wasn't even enough to make it into a soup. At this point my meal was about $15 bucks which was way too expensive for the food. The meal itself wasn't half bad but it woulda been better at the very least at $10! I enjoyed the chicken, but probably would be hesitant to come back anytime soon. I will say the sandwiches actually looked good, so if I do return I would try that one!

Yelp
Loved this place so much!!! Great food, reasonable price, big portions -- loved everything about this place. This place isn't like any other Vietnamese restaurant. Their secret family sauces make their food much more unique and delicious. I will be visiting here often from now on ^_^

Yelp
This is a fast Vietnamese food place. I ordered grill pork and co-worker had the rolls. The meat wasnt well marinated and overall bland.

Yelp
This place has definitely become a staple for my lunches during the week. Located right in FiDi, it is super convenient for majority of folks working in San Francisco. When you walk in, you first choose from three options: spring rolls, sandwich, or bowl. From there, you choose a protein, the toppings, and lastly a sauce to accompany it. My favorite is getting a bowl with pork. What is great about this place is that they have a "standard topping" section to allow for faster ordering. With that I get a ginger sauce and the whole combo is delicious and extremely filling. The chicken with the peanut sauce is also a great combination as well. As a final note, this place is card only.

Yelp
Blown away by the papaya salad bowl with lemongrass pork!! I'm a die hard Freshroll fan, and can't believe it took me so long to try this (prob bc hard to stray from everything else so delicious on the menu). The papaya salad is so refreshing, and the pork adds the perfect amount of flavor. I had mine with the Vietnamese vinaigrette and really can't get enough. Take my money Freshroll, just take my money.

Yelp
Wanted to have a "fun lunch" on Friday, but also wanted it to be sorta healthy. I keep walking by this place and was intrigued. I was not super sure I would like it. It is very Chipotle-like - pick what format you want: bowl, salad, roll, or sandwich. Then what protein, then what toppings (you can go their standard - NO substitutions) or pick 5. Then add jalapanos and pick what sauce at the register. I choose rolls, with lemongrass pork, NO sprouts - with jalapeños. (apparently you get 2 sauces with the rolls, I got peanut and ginger). I knew I would love the peanut - the ginger was a surprise and I might have even liked it more than the peanut. You get three rolls - really 2 were plenty, so I wish you could order less rolls for less money. I don't LOVE salads, but I enjoy a sandwich very much, these rolls are more salad than sandwich and I though it was a lovely healthy-ish Hybrid of sammy/salad lunch. I will definitely be back.

Yelp
Tried this place for the very first time. Ordered the Freshroll sandwich which was just ok. It was weird getting the sauce that comes with it on the side rather than inside the sandwich, but maybe that's how it's usually done? It was a little weird not getting any kind of greeting or acknowledgement that I was even standing there (there were no other customers at the time). It took me a few moments before I realized I was supposed to use automatic order machines instead. Never realized how much I'd miss the brief human interaction until it wasn't there.

Yelp
This is one of my top lunch places while I was working at 101 Cal. It was walking distance to work and always offers a satisfying experience. There weren't ample Asia/Chinese food places near Market street for take-out, but this is a close favorite. The lines move fast during lunch, although there is limited seating inside. The customized spring rolls are really good, with Non-GMO meat choices and fresh ingredients, and my favorite touch was the mint add-in, not available in many places. Besides, the Grandma's Yogurt sauce is a must-get, with a light sweet flavoring that doesn't overpower the freshness of the veggies inside the rolls. If I had one complaint (personal), it would be how sleepy I feel after eating these rolls, even though they look pretty "green" and "light". It could be the gluten of the rice paper, but I always get drowsy after eating them.

Yelp
I've ordered takeout and also had them cater an office lunch and both times were great! Good quality and very timely! We will continue to order from here.

Yelp
Great place for Vietnamese food in Fidi. This place is basically the Vietnamese version of Chipotle. If you're looking for an affordable, quick and healthy fix this is the place for you. I just beat the lunch rush when I got here and so glad that I did. There are only a few tables inside so if you're not one of the lucky ones to grab a chair you'll have to find elsewhere to enjoy your meal. I got the bowl with lemon grass pork and the peanut sauce. They give you unlimited sauces so try as many as you can! Will come back to try their other dishes since the bowl was super refreshing and filling.

Yelp
Pretty good spot for relatively cheap food that's tasty and filling but not heavy. I came here for dinner the other day, and I knew I wanted to try both their spring rolls and their bowls. So I got both. But let me just say that if you decide to get both, you're looking at about $20 worth of food. You definitely get a very generous amount of food, but it's way too much for one person. I finished one spring roll and about 3/4 of the bowl. The ingredients in the spring rolls and the bowls are pretty much the same (you pick the meat and toppings), so unless you're craving rice or noodles, I'd say go with the spring rolls. The spring rolls are MASSIVE. I got the chicken and the beef, and both were delicious! The meat isn't super tender or anything, but the chewy noodles and the skin of the spring rolls balance it out. The meat has a lot of flavor, and the toppings (I went with the Standard set) make the whole spring roll taste light and refreshing. I can't remember all of the toppings that came with the standard set, but they included bean sprouts, cilantro, pickled carrots/radish, and crispy onion flakes. It was delicious! Bowls were pretty much the same thing except with rice. Not as unique as the spring rolls, but it was still good! Food here averages around $9, which isn't bad for the amount of food that you get. The line moves pretty slowly, but it's kinda cool watching them make your food. I'll be back!
