Where to begin... first time and last time, I actually don't get where the 4-5 stars are coming from? Agree with the other reviews of 1 star. I was being kind and gave it an extra star. The food and service was mediocre and overall overpriced. We're a foodie family from fine dining to food truck tacos. I don't put a price on food that is good but $700 later I felt like we just threw money out the window. Note we paid a pretty penny at The Palm and the food and service were excellent.
Let's start with service, 75% of 2 coke bottles were spilled on my sons shirts. Resulting in one having to replace his wet shirt for the jacket that I luckily brought with us. Without it, he would have needed to go shirtless. We received an apology from the waiters but no management (she walked by and walked away) how much effort would it have cost to apologize or acknowledge the incident, but I guess we weren't worth the time. I mean the back of my son shirt was soaked wet ( yes that's how wet his shirt was and no I'm not even exaggerating). The second son had a splash on his shirt and pants). They didn't even help to wipe down the chair. I had to switch out the wet chair. If not, he would have had partially wet shorts.
As for food, one member in my party ended up with diarrhea, the other noted that the fish special for the day tasted "fishy" and like it was "frozen" fish as opposed to special of the day fresh fish. In my opinion "special of the day" types of food you would think is fresh... but maybe I'm asking for too much. As for dessert, the cookie ice cream tasted like thick, stale, hard chips ahoy cookie with ice cream. It was so hard that I thought I was going to crack a tooth. Why even bother to give us utensils? You had to eat it with your hands. If you tried to cut it in half, it would have slide off the plate.
Brighter side, there were 3 decent dishes: the calamari, the chocolate cake with Nutella and salmon.
Note, this restaurants charged 10.00 for bread and butter!
Kids: We had 5 kids in our party their ages range from 3-12 so we asked about a kids menu, which they didn't have but happily noted they can make a kids version. Like pasta with butter, plain burger, plain steak. Im thinking it's kids portion food and priced as such (I should have confirmed). I mean how much can a 3 or a 7 year old eat? 3 steaks later for 3 of the 5 kids was about 150. When I inquired about the bill, they noted the kids version was a full entree without the sauce. In my opinion it looked like I received a kids portions with 6-8 pieces of steak with 1/2 the plate filled with a salad as a full price.
