Les Fresques - Hôtel Royal

"Take a seat in the majestic dining room of this luxury hotel and admire the Art nouveau frescoes by Gustave Jaulmes. The show continues in your plate, as you tuck into dishes, subtly and precisely crafted with premium ingredients: fish from Lake Geneva (arctic char, perch, crayfish...), fillet of Abondance beef smoked in meadow hay, Bresse chicken with foie gras and yellow wine. The modest, enthusiastic chef, Patrice Vander, works only with noble produce, delving freely and frequently into the estate’s cottage garden. The exclusive, sophisticated ambience, like the breathtaking view and the attentive service add the final touch to this fine dining experience rich in gourmet memories." - Michelin Inspector

Great food in a truly spectacular place. Was lucky with the weather and had a table at the terrace. One of the best panoramic scenes there is. Food was excellent . Started with tomatoes salad followed by roasted chicken. There were few small bites between the main dishes. Service was warm and friendly.

We drove all the way to the hotel which resides on top of the hill only to be turn down because we are not hotel guest hence we can’t dine in the restaurant. After waiting for 10mins for the manager approval he said no. We walk out feeling disappointed as this restaurant was featured in Michelin guide but they did not mention we need to be a hotel guest. I read nowhere was written this rule. Please don’t visit.

Les Fresques is a truly special dining experience. Great food in a spectacular setting, with a wonderful panoramic view across the lake. We were warmly welcomed and looked after by friendly, attentive staff from start to finish. The amuse-bouche were a perfect start to the evening, and the tasting menu that followed was exceptional. The food was beautifully presented and full of flavour, the cheese trolley was outstanding and the flaming soufflè added a nice touch of theatre.
