If you want a burger or a sandwich in Fond du Lac, find someplace else. The food quality is on par with with the rest of the geriatric-inspired menus at Oasis, Faros, Schreinders and Sebastian's. Low quality food, relatively nice employees, and, of course, a bar to forget that you're eating in Fond du Lac. Is that why its so dark in here?
There's a part of me that really wants to like Friar's. I have family that enjoys this place, so I occasionally (and begrudgingly) join them. The waitstaff is friendly enough, but I just can't get over the poor quality of the food. It's like the people in the kitchen have no sense of taste. How can a burger be bland, have bland cheese on it, get no flavor from bacon, and then have bland barbecue sauce with it? I can't fathom it. Flavor is not hard to achieve, but apparently they don't get it.
Maybe when the employees won the lottery, they should have spent less on their flashy diamonds (really, they flaunt it), and given the owners some money to bring in someone who knows how to cook. But that's Fond du Lac for you: uninspired and bland.
But hey, if you just want sustenance and your gruel isn't cutting it, then Friar's might be a step up.
