Frida Tacos Brentwood Review - Brentwood - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"You could go to the Brentwood Country Mart to buy Gwyneth Paltrow-approved cheese knives, to mail a package at the least-chaotic post office on the Westside, or to see what intimidating high schoolers are wearing these days. But no matter why you’re here, your lunch should be from Frida’s, in the nice outdoor food court. You’ll appreciate these simple little tacos when you're surrounded by stores where you could spend half of your rent check on a onesie for a newborn baby. The chicken, pastor, and mole are our favorites." - Arden Shore

We placed order. It was a bit hard to hear so we had to ask a couple of times. Grabbed a seat and waited for the little buzzer thing to ring to pickup our order. I ordered crispy tacos and got soft tacos. We also ordered guacamole and chips but that didn’t some with our order and had to go back up to get it. As we’re eating, realized that they didn’t give us our drink order and had to go up a third time. The carnitas portion was generous. Just wish that our order came out all at once.

Google
Fridas tacos is some of the best Mexican in the area! The crispy taco combo is my go-to but I also love the carne asada nachos. Prices are good & good comes out fast. Definitely more busy on the weekends and parking is scare, highly recommend coming for lunch on a weekday!

Google
I usually love this place but had such an awful experience today. I ordered some grilled veggies and an enchilada combo. I let them know I am gluten free, and the lady at the counter just rolled her eyes/laughed and said everything was already gluten free. I’m feeling pretty sick after eating lunch there today, so I am definitely concerned they don’t take allergies and cross contamination very seriously, especially given her attitude. Also the grilled veggies were barely cooked and tasted like dirt. Will be awhile before I come back here.

Google
STAY AWAY. Somehow spent $50 for the WORST Mexican food I’ve ever had in my entire life, including East Coast Mexican food where they don’t even believe in salsa or hot sauce. Took 30-40 minutes to come out. The order was WRONG. They forgot our chips. The soup is literally enchilada sauce. The fish was floppy. Fries had a weird flavor. Fries! Horrible. Awful. I don’t know how this scam of a restaurant exists.

Google
Got tacos and I can't say they're the best I've had but were definitely good. Prices are a little on the higher side but its worth it. 2 tacos, 2 sopes, and 2 drinks were $35. The guy taking orders was a little rude and made us feel rushed...He was working the register and making the food simultaneously.

Aida King

Google
I’ve only had their veggie burrito and I hands-down prefer the regular traditional style vs their 2nd version. They have a $1 off season special on Mondays. Always busy, must mean that they’re good IMHO. Mind you, there’s not a lot of competition in this tiny food court, so they do have a captured crowd. But I presume their positive Zagat ratings for several years is also a good thing. I’d come again for the burritos. May try something else next time

Google
Register clerk is always rude - this is the third time in a row. He acts like he’s doing you a favor by taking your order - mixes it up repeatedly and gives you terrible attitude and argues with you about what your order. Never coming back here again. Food is good but over priced; but the poor service kills it for me. I can’t stand when employees don’t understand customers good experience supports the business and your livelihood

N Ram

Google
Man taking orders needs to find new profession. I was wanting to give you my business (money) but can't argue with your employees. VERY RUDE. FOOD EEEEHHHHHHH. Tostada basically salad on two toasted corn tortillas. Won't return!! Order taker argued with me about Agua frescas they have advertised, it is minute maid lemonade. Don't advertise something you don't have!!!! Bad customer service !!!

Yelp
The best tacos I've ever had in LA!!! So fresh and delicious!! Service was great too!

Esther D.

Yelp
We love coming here when we visit LA. The food is fresh and fast. We got the house salad which came with beans and rice. The salsa was really good and spicy.

Jovanny M.

Yelp
Get their carnitas with the red sauce , so so good. Its really a quality over quantity place but you can't go wrong with that when the quality is finger licking good!

Yelp
Best burrito in LA! The tortillas and vegetables taste so fresh and the staff is super friendly.

Yelp
OMG! What a hidden or not so hidden gem! Inside the town center I had the chicken tacos 2 with rice and beans $10 you can beat that at all for being in Brentwood

Ami A.

Yelp
Delicious tostada salad and nice staff! The portion size is also very generous especially compared to other places in the area.

Yelp
FT makes excellent tacos and quesadillas. We just wanted something fast and tasty, and FT was able to deliver exactly what we wanted. I'm sure rest of the menu is just as good if not better, but since we didn't try all, this review is just for the grilled chicken tacos and the chicken quesadillas. They were mouth watering good. So yes, highly recommend if you are in the neighborhood.

Yelp
Always, Frida. Love the kitchen tacos. Green salsa. My favorite taco Tuesday place! Gracias!

Yelp
Incredible bean and cheese burrito and incredible crispy taco with remarkable!!!! 9/10. Loved! Best buried and cheese

Yelp
Very subpar. They have a breakfast burrito on the menu. The worker told me they stopped serving it already. This made me think oh okay they're open for breakfast hours. Nope! I looked at their hours and they open at 11 AM whereas I was there only a couple hours later. They at least should put a note on the menu about this. So I ended up getting the carne asada burrito. This thing was loaded with beans and rice. And when I did get "asada" it was really fatty and tasted like fast food. Only plus side was that it came out quick.
google avatar

Yelp
I ordered the chicken enchiladas and it was bad, dry as dust inside. Basically they wrapped some very cheap tasting chicken (frozen and microwaved is what it felt like) in a raw corn tortilla and poured some sauce on it. That is not an enchilada, that is cheap and lazy. It wouldn't even cost more money to make it half decent, like mix some enchilada sauce with the chicken. But my meal told me they just don't care. So I won't be going back here ever. Really disappointed as I expected better for Brentwood. Is it too much to ask that they care a little bit about the food they serve? Sad.

Yelp
Quick & easy spot in the Brentwood Country Mart! The taco combo plate was $11 and came with some salsas! Service was super fast (~7 mins) & the food was a decent lunch portion!

Ruben Z.

Yelp
It's safe to say that my safety wasn't a top concern for this cantina- uncontrolled diarrhea after an hour of consuming what I thought was a tasteful combination platter. To have spent my Tuesday afternoon trying to ask god; what I could I have done wrong, why me? Or let me catch my breath. If you are looking for revenge- great place to take an ex wife or boyfriend. Thank me later. Oh- and stay away from the combination platter - Beef Enchiladas, fries chick taco and soft beef taco.

Yelp
Forgive my non-detailed review as I ate here weeks ago and forgot to write my review. Achem. So Frida Tacos is located in the Brentwood 'Country mart' on 26th and San Vincente. Parking can be tricky at peak times. The Brentwood 'Country Mart' is essentially an outlet. This outlet has variety of restaurants/shops, but also hosts gatherings and social events from time to time. Frida is a little hole in the wall with a small window. It's cute. The two tacos I had were okay. The taco with the tomato/some cheese/green sauce was the better of the two. I believe it had chicken with it. It's passable. The tacos are more expensive but have a heavier/firm tortilla shell with some decent premium/gourmet toppings. Lots of competition out there. I cannot find anything wrong here, but nothing exceptional at the same time.

Yelp
The Brentwood Market is located off of 26th St through a maze of entrances behind their storefronts ... as you walk down 26th St, turn in when you see an opening and "voila" you are in for lots of surprises... a great book store, clothing stores and lots of fun offerings for all. As I navigated, I was pretty unsure I would find my dear friend who agreed to meet me there... there meaning this lovely square with "delicious " aromas emanating and lots of options to choose from. The goal today was Frida's Tacos. In particular, I was in pursuit of their "crunchy" taco... well, it was sure worth finding... Fish, chicken and beef are your choices and each one was "delicioso"... Even though it was the end of the day, the staff and service was superb! We arrived around 4:30 and there were so many friendly patrons sitting at different tables all enjoying their meals... I think I will do a couple more reviews for the 2 other restaurants in the square that also deserve 5 stars. It is a child friendly and there was much laughter and hi-jinx going on amongst them. I love seeing children just running around playing and enjoying themselves! And we enjoyed chatting with several kids who just came over to us whilst their moms were ordering food from the various vendors. It added lots of joy to our day! So, I recommend the Brentwood Market for so many reasons... the food choices are great and reasonably priced. The high end shops are fun to "window shop" and check out... they are pricey but still fun to peruse. I was there to eat! I will definitely return next week and review some more. One tip for when to go...It is crowded at lunchtime so I suggest going later and parking is easy and free! A definite must for everyone because it is fun, clean and a safe environment...I am thinking I could go 3 more times and still find other places I missed the first time. These small and local businesses will always be supported by me especially those that provide a great experience!

Yelp
With a couple different food options in the courtyard, if you want Mexican, Frida's is a great choice. Tacos, burritos, quesadillas, you name it, Frida's got it. I can imagine the courtyard gets nice during the summer time. Too bad it was raining when I came. My knock is that the service is a little slow even though it wasn't that crowded during lunch time. I got an order of the carne asada torta and I thought it was great! The bread was lightly toasted which made for great bread consistency. Not to mention, the carne asada was flavorful and not too salty. I appreciated the avocado in the sandwich but I think it's justified after paying $12 for it. They give you two small cups of salsa along with your torta. Frida's has Taco Tuesday, offering tacos for $2 on Tuesdays so I might be back for that!

Yelp
Always get the same thing but I do enjoy it! Only giving 4 stars based on the portion sizes and containers going down but not the prices. I gravitate towards chicken hard shell tacos and chicken or just plain tortilla soup. Both are delicious choices!

Aida K.

Yelp
Great tasting, authentic Mexican food with fair prices. Never disappointed with their vegetable burritos & their drinks! Always busy so they give you a beeper to come back and pick up your order. Considering its location, I'm grateful the costs aren't inflated.
google avatar

Yelp
Service: Not very friendly. Especially the lady giving you your food when it's ready. Food: Not good. Had a carne asada burrito. It was tasteless and meat had a lot of fat in it. My stomach actually hurt after eating this. Try Gracias Senor food truck in Pacific Palisades on Sunset for authentic amazing Mexican Food. Parking: Not good at peak hours. Location: In the Brentwood Country Mart.

Yelp
Great food, very hard working crew and always a treat to go grab a bite from Frida's.

Yelp
I just keep eating ! This is like my fourth meal today and I have to rave about how yummy this was! Mainly convenient because I took a stroll around the Brentwood shops. It's small and quiet here but everyone was grabbing food at the time. It was nice because I was craving a huge container of guacamole. It was just "okay" and about half of it is brown and wasted now but I'm really looking for some authentic guacamole and chips. These chips were good but I just about broke a tooth on them haha. Yikes! I ordered a chicken taco, lemonade and the chips and guacamole it all came to a total of $11.52. I'd would definitely come back and suggest anyone shopping here at the Brentwood country mart to grab a bite. I've had food at the nearby stations and they were just okay. This is way more tasty! Enjoy!

Yelp
Stopped here real quick for a quick lunch bite and surprisingly they had really good Molé the chicken mole sandwich was legit
google avatar

Rodney I.

Yelp
If you like overpriced, inauthentic mostly salty and small portioned items then this is the place for you. Its a shack! You heard me, a shack. Their ingredients don't cost any more than any other Mexican restaurant yet they charge as much for a quesadillas as most places do for a combination plate. Also, the guy at the counter is rude and unprofessional. PASS
google avatar

Esmeralda H.

Yelp
Bad experience ever this is what was found in the taco after a bite as you can see it was melted. The person I spoke to was so nice and he was trying to give me credit for next time which is appreciated but after this I don't think I would be coming again. I just asked them to please be more careful and just had to let them know to be aware.
google avatar

Jacob S.

Yelp
The guy taking our order was very rude. He made himself occupied with other things while my wife stood waiting for 10 minutes. He didn't listen and got my wife's order wrong. He then refused to fix it. They were out of iced tea. They were out of potatoes. Basically a mess. Won't be back. 1 star. I asked and he subsequently gave us the rest of what my wife ordered for free. Raised the review to 3 stars. Will try again.

Yelp
Frida's is fantastic. Their food is amazing and it is conveniently located in the Brentwood country mart. I recommend the steak tacos/burrito, although you can't really go wrong with most of the menu. They do take a very long time, which is why it's not getting the 5 stars. Whenever I order for pick up it's always 10 minutes longer than estimated. Great staff, great place to get lunch, overall a pretty great restaurant.
google avatar

Carter B.

Yelp
My favorite tacos in Brentwood. Friendly staff. The tostada salad and chicken tacos are a hit.
google avatar

Dave F.

Yelp
I missed real Taco's so much. The Frida taco sampler allows you to choose 3 of your favorites along with with rich and black beans. Definitely order their house made guacamole! Miss going here, but glad Doordash can provide.
google avatar

Tricia M.

Yelp
Great breakfast burrito - super crispy bacon, egg, cheese, guacamole, salsa - it was huge, fresh and delicious! I am not even sure if it had potatoes in it (usually my perfect idea of a breakfast burrito has potatoes in it), but it totally worked and I would order it again. My son had the nachos grande and it was huge with plenty of cheese, retried beans, sour cream, salsa and guacamole. He was a very happy camper and couldn't finish it all. Total was $18 and change.
google avatar

Will L.

Yelp
Got some burritos for myself, friends, and family and we all found them yummy. Definitely come here instead of chipotle or any other fast food place. I want to say the burritos cost about $9. The burritos are a large size, so I cut up mine in half.. to finish later

Yelp
First time here in a long time and the service is very slow but the reason for my three star review is the food was average tasting but it was good and well prepared. They really need to focus on quality. My beef tacos were supposed to be shredded beef and they were not shredded they were mushy beef... frankly it was just like a scoop of bland beef that was previously chewed kinda gross! number 2 the beans were fair but bland and the rice was sticky and overcooked! The only thing that really got me going was the habanero salsa which is really kick ass! That was surprisingly good all things considered and the tomatoes and lettuce was fresh. My experience with the Brentwood country mart previously has usually been positive so perhaps it was just a bad day. I can say that the staff was very nice so ending on a positive note I will try Fridas again and update my review if warranted.

claudine s.

Yelp
I used to love to come here and eat; but things have changed drastically. The newly hired cashier has an enormous chip on his shoulders because he is always extremely rude. The quality of the food has also gone down. What a shame that management does nothing to fix these problems. I guess they really don't care about customer service nor do they have pride in their restaurant. I will not return.

Annie E.

Yelp
Frida has some of the best Mexican food in West LA. Their salsa verde is delicious, especially on the chicken enchiladas. It is also one of the best deals in the area.
google avatar

Glenn B.

Yelp
This is the second time I have had rude service here. We asked what was in the burrito and were refused an answer. When got upset and the guy working there said "read the menu b#$ch" now we admit we lost our cool after the initial brush off, but that is not the way someone should respond. The last visit they also were very standoffish. Food is okay, the only affordable place in this whole mart, but it's too bad the staff is not nicer.

Amy R.

Yelp
Fridas has decent food and Brentwood Mart is a lovely casual place to dine at picnic tables but if you have a problem with your order too bad for you. I returned home from picking up my Togo order to find They left out the side of chips I paid for and my order was prepared incorrectly. I called to let them know and see if I could get a credit for next time or they could at least refund me for chips I never received. I was told if I wanted a refund I would need to cone back. I was frustrated but returned and when I got there was told they gave me my chips already and that's what I ordered so it isn't incorrect and they hadn't made any mistakes on any orders the whole day as If this was evidence my order couldn't possibly be incorrect. I said are you calling me a liar? I most certainly did not get what I paid for and the manager Ozzie kept insisting I did and refused to correct. I have never been so insulted. To ask me to return to the restaurant to attack me and not make the order correctly not to mention the food was cold after traveling back to the restaurant. What was my motivation? Free chips? I felt abused and harassed and insulted. I will never go there again.
google avatar

Dee G.

Yelp
Tried the shrimp tacos and crispy beef tacos. The shrimp filling was tasty and unexpected. Moderate heat, the shrimp themselves were perfectly cooked, which is a rarity, IME. They were served with rice & beans. Rice was nothing special. The beans were outstanding, which is not something I ever recall saying about RE fried beans. The shrimp tacos come with guacamole on them. I asked for it on the side. It's some of the best quac I've had in a restaurant. No kidding. But the outstanding dish for me was the crispy beef taco. Transcendent is the word that best describes it. A hunk of perfect beef (brisket?) cocooned in a flour tortilla, then deep fried. Adorned with queso fresco, I believe, lettuce, and pick de Gallo. One of the best beef tacos I've ever had. There was a salsa verde and rioja in the bag, but nothing we ordered needed additional anything.
google avatar

Danielle F.

Yelp
This is one of the booths in the Brentwood country mart. Unfortunately the food quality is poor and to cover that up, the food is extremely salty. It was definitely like eating old food. We became quite sick after eating here. Would not recommend

Arianna L.

Yelp
This is the second time we have ordered things to-go that were not given to us. We used to go to and love the Frida Tacos at the Westside Pavilion, but are very disappointed with this location. Went once pre-pandemic and that was the first time they did not give us everything we ordered and paid for. Today was the first time we've gone back since, and had the same experience. Food no longer tastes authentic, either, coming from somebody who grew up in Mexico. Will not be going back.

Thomas C.

Yelp
Underwhelming tacos: meat was a bit dry and flavor was alright Poor customer service: person at the front was curt and rude Don't plan on going back
google avatar

Jinie P.

Yelp
Well, it's been a year and the promise of contacting me privately never materialized. What a surprise. I never expected to be contacted by this place because this is exactly what happened before. It just looks good for them to post a response saying that they knew nothing of this issue but that they will look into it. Just wanted to give an update. Very bad customer care.
google avatar

Alexis S.

Yelp
Do. Something. About. The. Service. Now. Never have same experience or food here. Order same thing 9 times out of 10. Tonight, ask for something to be left off. When I go to confirm it's not there before they wrap it, guy lies right to my face, tells me it's not on there. There was MORE than enough time before closing to correct it. You'd think it was 6:59 and 59 seconds. And I even opened the box to look before leaving. Get home to find out, not only is it there, it is SMOTHERED in it under the overly done hot sauce and avocado. Your restaurant is lucky I don't have an allergy to what I asked for to be removed or I would be having a different conversation right now. Extremely frustrating. Consistency is everything. And Frida's doesn't have it.

Happy M.

Yelp
Our kids love the tacos! They also have lettuce wrap tacos that are yummy. Nice outdoor seating but can get crowded on weekends.
google avatar

Crystal T.

Yelp
Omg! If you want authentic Mexican tacos, this is the place to go! I felt like I was in Mexico at my grandma's house eating her homemade tacos! I had two tacos, rice, and beans. They were amazing! I'd definitely come here again when I'm in LA next. The people were friendly and you could tell they made the food fresh and it wasn't just sitting around. You'll definitely meet some interesting people sitting in the courtyard area eating but other than that, no complaints here. Delicious food and great customer service; way more than what I expected from what initially seemed like a fast food window at a mini mall.
google avatar

Emily S.

Yelp
I ordered this fish tacos to go specifying "no tomatoes" (because I'm allergic). I said I wanted all the other condiments included on the tacos I.e. onions, cilantro and chipotle sauce on the side. I opened up my box when I arrived at home... there was nothing on the tacos. They put corn tortillas with grilled fish in a box and nothing else inside of them. It was the most bland and disgusting thing to see. The tacos were completely inedible. I called to let the guy know this was not what I ordered ... he yelled at me and then hung up. I then called the Beverly drive location to see if their manager could resolve this and also advise them of how horribly I was treated. I was told I would receive a refund and that she would let the manager at the Brentwood location know about what happened. 1. I never received my refund 2. I sent several emails to Juan the manager at the Brentwood country mart location. I finally heard back and it's as if he didn't read my email at all. His solution was to offer me to come in today specifically and they will remake me the tacos. Why would I want to be inconvenienced and make a special trip to accommodate him?!? After how I have been treated by the cashier and now learning how poor the customer service is... I would HIGHLY recommend walking to the taco trucks a couple blocks East. They listen and are accommodating plus the tacos were delicious.

E B.

Yelp
SKIP this place! Food quality is poor, management is rude (after reading other reviews, seems like this is the norm) and he does not put customer service first, owner makes you wait to place order, in the mean time line is forming, he gets your order wrong, blames you for it and, overcharges you, doesn't give you an itemized receipt, then you ask him for your money back/to correct the order at pick up window he then asks you to return to stand in the long line to change order (also the norm)! So rude, unprofessional! Eat somewhere else! Also, the fish was fishy!
google avatar

Paula P.

Yelp
With taco in the name, it is unfortunate that that was the most disgusting thing we had. We ordered the grilled fish tacos from door dash. We were, admitted, lazy on a Sunday night and dreamed of eating fish tacos, having them arrive at our door, amongst other items. The fish tacos were a decent size but the fish tasted like it went bad. It is definitely frozen not fresh fish as it had some freezer burn. But we didn't eat it because we didn't want to get sick, it tasted that bad. We also got the cheese enchiladas which were good as well as the guacamole and plantains. The beans were good as well thus the two stars.
google avatar

Amir I.

Yelp
Is it possible to give a 0 star review ... I ordered 2x fish taco meals thinking I would get the same quality food I usually get from the frida Resturant chains. I placed an order for the grilled tacos and what I ended up getting was a fish soup on tortilla. I took back the food to the cashier to and get something else but he said he would not give me my money back and I would have to pay for new order. I told him that the tacos are not grilled and just want my money back. I ended just leaving the food with the cashier and not getting a refund or exchange. Never eat at this place because I won't. I really think they're pretending that they're related to the frida restaurant because I never got this type of service before.
google avatar

Yelp
The food is great, but the cashier (a guy in his 30's) is the world's biggest di*k! Just beyond rude. I could starving and won't give a place with terrible customer service my business.
