I really enjoyed my visit to Fridas! The food and drinks were amazing. The Dragon Berry Mojito was so refreshing and flavorful, and the chef’s special shrimp dish was absolutely delicious — perfectly cooked and full of flavor. On top of that, all the staff were very efficient and genuinely friendly, which made the whole experience even better. Definitely coming back! Highly recommend this spot if you want great Mexican food, drinks, and service.

The staff was absolutely friendly and very attentive. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area. 1-5 rating 5- smoky old fashion (beautiful presentation and made perfectly) 5- cheese nacho (I love chard cheese and this gave me both chard and melty cheese over some freshly made nachos to drip. ) 4- steak fajita i personally felt needed a little bit more seasoning but it was good I really enjoyed my visit and would recommend

This is the finest Mexican restaurant I have been to. The host was friendly and there was no wait time. Not a big fan of the wall art but the interior is nice. Table side guacamole was fabulous. Salsa could be better but its mostly preference. The food was good and came out quickly.

I recently visited Fridas Mexican Cuisine, and I have to say it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The food was exceptional—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The drinks were just as impressive. Great balance, great presentation, and great taste. But what truly made the experience unforgettable was the service provided by Helen. She was attentive, friendly, and genuinely made us feel welcome. Christian was very friendly attentive and friendly. Been here a few times and till continue to come. A little upset the arroz con leche dessert was not available but the food and overall environment was 10/10

I've been wanting to check out Frida's Mexican for a while, and finally made it there with a group of six, including two kids under 12. There was plenty on the menu for everyone. I went with the enchiladas, while others tried the tacos, which came three to an order. They were fresh, good-sized, and nicely done. The menu has some really creative dishes, but for a first visit, I like to stick with the basics to get a feel for the place. The chips and guacamole were great -- the guac was made fresh tableside and the chips were perfectly crisp. There's also a full bar and lots of parking since it's in a shopping center. Service was excellent and the restaurant was fairly busy for a Sunday evening. I'll definitely be back to try some of their more creative options next time.

My husband and I tried Frida's for a date night and I'm so glad we did!! It's become a favorite local spot. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, the food is amazing and the service is top notch! And the cocktails are incredible and sooo delicious!! I would highly recommend Frida's to anyone looking for a really lovely Mexican restaurant!

We went last night for dinner without a reservation and were seated right away. Nice high end ambiance. We got the empanadas to start in each option and they were delicious, not oily, well filled and crust was flaky. I got ropa vieja, which was tender and flavorful & had to remind my server about the rice and beans to accompany it, which were ok. My husband enjoyed his vegetarian enchiladas. It is quite expensive and we didn't even have any drinks so maybe just a special occasion spot for us.

Good food and good ambiance. Not the best fajitas on Long Island but pretty good and would go back.

Pretty food, but small portions to make it more like fine dining experience, but the only issue was that there was no variation from what a regular Mexican restaurant would provide, just presenting prettier. Pitcher of casamigos small pitcher for 62$ filled mostly with ice was ridiculous. Definitely not a repeat visit. Nice people working there but the empty restaurant should have been a huge red flag. To the restaurant, spice up those dishes with flavorings that can go with the pretty presentations. And pour the booze when we pay for the booze, lighten up on the ice!! Desert was good. Hunting down wait staff to pay bill is not fun.

I'm giving this 3 stars because I did really love my server. He was very attentive and sweet despite being very busy. The cocktails I ordered were hit or miss I got 3 and only liked one. I ordered fish tacos and the fish was a weird texture, it came with rice and beans that were very bland. The noise level in this restaurant was also very high, I couldn't even hear the person sitting across from me. My ears were ringing when I left. At this point in time I can't say that I can recommend this restaurant. I would possibly be willing to give them another shot in the future.

I've passed this little storefront restaurant so many times without thinking much about it. Once inside it's like being transported to a beautiful little tropical village. Our server was very friendly and prompt. The margaritas were very good despite mine having too much ice. I had the steak with chimmichurri sauce. Very good but somewhat undercooked. I asked for medium and got very rare. My husband had the shrimp with garlic and white wine which was very good. He also had the flan for dessert which was outstanding. We will definitely return!

I'm not too keen on Mexican food. It never really agrees with me and so I just usually pass on the offer. However, this weekend, the family chose Frida's to dine. I took it like a champ and went with the flow. I was first impressed with the beautiful ambiance. We dined at off peak time so it wasn't busy. The staff members were so kind and got all our order right. Service was reasonably fast. WHAT I ORDERED: Salmon Agridulce - perfectly grilled salmon with mango habanero sauce, rice and "tostones" fried plantains. Although it was delicious, the salmon was, in my opinion, a little overcooked and was on the dry side. I still enjoyed it. The mango habanero sauce provided a little wiggle room with its slight spiciness and sweetness. The rice tasted a bit plain. I was expecting a much more in depth Spanish flavor. The tostones were delicious. Overall, I enjoyed it. It wasn't bursting with flavors but I needed that less salty type of food for health reasons. So it basically benefited me...AND I had no adverse reaction to the Mexican food afterwards. So it was a plus for me this time around. Everyone else loved their choices (sorry no photos). The guacamole ordered was made fresh right in front of us and that was to die for. The tortilla chips were in multicolors. I stuck with the yellow chips!! WIll I GO AGAIN? Yes

This place is absolutely gorgeous inside. Stopped in for Sunday lunch and this place will easily be taking my money for the foreseeable future. Apps: Ceviche & Aguavate Relleno Both so fresh. The ceviche was crisp and light and the aguacate was flavorful and delicious. Entree: Birria shrimp tacos!!!!!!! Whew I've been dreaming about those tacos! I will just say that. Drink: spicy marg This margarita was perfect! Just enough spice and all the best ingredients topped with a tajin rim... my fave ! The staff was so kind and attentive. This spot is going on my go to list for sure.

I under-estimated Frida's. I wasn't sure about a high end Mexican spot but I was wrong!! The space is super trendy and had a buzz about it (we went on a Saturday night). Our waiter was very patient with us while we navigated the menu. We had a table of 4 so we wanted to make sure we tried as much as we could. We started with the empanada appetizer which had 3 different types of empanadas. One of the specials was skirt steak, scallops and shrimp which serves 2. This is a great option if you want to try a few different things. We added fajitas and a birria taco entrée to complete our order. Everything was fantastic! They have a home made hot sauce which is no joke!! I'd definitely come back here to explore the rest of the menu!

To make this short, the food was not good. The place looks amazing and the staff were so friendly but unfortunately the food is not good. I honestly had better Mexican food at chilis. Our group confidently said the best thing we ate was the nachos and salsa.

Frida's Mexican is relatively new to the Plainview area and it was time for this foodie to check it out. THE GROWS: The acoustics make for a very noisy venue. We had some trouble hearing one another (and we are NOT at the age where we request to sit away from the DJ at weddings!) due to a loud group dining across the room. When I placed my order, I asked if the combo fajitas could contain just shrimp and chicken instead of adding steak. The server said sure and they would add more of the two. Well, I was only given 3 shrimp and all chicken--I could have paid less for the chicken fajitas. Three shrimp was just noth worth the upcharge. THE GLOWS: Their queso fundido was fresh, not oily, and didn't have that overly-salted quality that many other restaurants seem to have. The fajitas (exclusive of critique above) were sizzling hot and accompanied by all the sides and toppings you could want. The tortilla shells were warm and rolled beautifully for presentation. I love how the ambiance reminded me of a cafe in Europe (or Mexico City, if you've ever been!), and the bachata music playing above added to the experience. Reservations were easy to make and all staff were pleasant and accommodating. Give them a try!

New Mexican spot in Plainview Centre is a perfect place to gran a relaxing bite after shopping for some essentials in any of the four corners of strip centers here. This is at the north east strip and includes a paris baguette, a Ruby and Jennas, a Starbucks an Amazing deals ( housewares super discount store) and a few other variety of shops. I think there was a Massage envy but not sure if it survived or is still around. So no your not on the water or in some seaside cafe but your in a strip center with doors open to site on the side walk overlooking the parking lot. Feels ok when in this bustling hub of Suburbia so when in Robe enjoy. We got the chimichangas more like three egg rolls topped with squirts of guac sauce and drizzly sour cream. Small sided of rice and beans are brought and all is well with the world. There is an upbeat cool vibe here. Next time will try the taco salad in a shell.. and some drinks - had water when with my mother. Hahaj

Are you missing the average (at best) food and poor service from Margaritas since they closed? Well you're in luck, now you can have it for double the price with half the food. Frida's attempts to be a high end Mexican restaurant (think Besito) but fails in every area. Average food? Check. Bad service? Check. High prices? Check. If you are in the Plainview Shopping Center and want Mexican you'd be better off going to Qdoba for a burrito.

I went to Frida's for dinner. The inside is very pretty with some nice roomy booth seats. We started off with the guacamole which they make table side. It was very fresh and delicious. For my entree I got Cameron's en salsa verde which was also very good. The sauce was superb and the shrimp delicious. My son got the arroz con pollo which was also good. The chicken was very tender. They also had a live singer which was nice. It was a little loud in the restaurant overall but wasn't terrible. I'd definitely recommend going here for a fun evening with friends or a date night.

Food was great. Ambiance was awesome. Service the server and manager "Alex" needs to be trained again and learn proper etiquette. We had a reservation for 6 at 6:45. We came on time. Sat us down and we ordered our drinks and appetizers around 7:15. Server was in a rush (we already knew because she's trying to take our food even if we are not done as of yet). While we are still eating our appetizers, we ordered our entrees. By 7:45, entrees came and we were enjoying the food. Until the server tried to take our food again without asking us if we were done. My friend said she's done and I said I want the rest of my food to take home. After cleaning our table I asked for a dessert menu. The server looked at me in disgust and asked me if I want a dessert menu, I said yes please. So we were deciding what dessert to order and server came back. We were ordering our desserts, when she got to the 2nd order, she left our table. We were not done ordering. So we said, it's ok. We'll try to catch her again. She came back with the 2 desserts we ordered and we asked for some coffee..she got the nerves to tell us "NO, I am not serving you coffee because I asked you 5 minutes ago and you didn't answer. Besides, the manager told me you have to leave because there's another party coming" mind you, this is 8:10. We were not told prior that there's a time limit on the table, it was not written on their menu, nor their website. So my friend got really upset and asked for the manager (ALEX). He is useless as well. He was arguing with my friend instead of explaining why we were being rushed. That was really rude and very unprofessional! We were really disappointed. Never in our lives, going to restaurants every weekend to try something new, to have this kind of service. Denying us of coffee!! UNBELIEVABLE

Very good food here! You won't be disappointed and very nice ambiance to boot ... had the cucumber spiced jalapeño margarita it was awesome and Service is very good.

Been there a couple of times, no complaints. My wife was having a get together with some co workers and I suggested Fridas. I'm so sorry I did. They had a terrible experience with the food. Apparently the meat was unedible. Rubbery chewy, became a doggie bag for all to take home to their pets. I feel terrible I ruined their night out because I suggested it. Lesson learned.

Overall...it's an average Mexican restaurant. Nothing blew us away except for the atmosphere/decor and the variety of drinks. I would definitely go back for cocktails but then do a different restaurant for dinner.

Food and service was good. I ordered the shrimp tacos and my wife ordered tacos de pescado (tacos are small). Guacamole was the best part of the meal. Table for 2 is small and the table was wobbly, we sat behind the hostess. Live music was pleasant.

Nice atmosphere and pretty good drinks. I ordered a quesadilla that was expensive and when it came I thought it was from the kids menu.

The ambiance is definitely a 10/10 experience. The atmosphere and decor is beautifuly done. We were there on a Saturday night and they had lovely live music. I had their margarita ( perfect on the level of sour and sweet) and we ordered the Mexican street corn (delicious), salmon salad (5/10 on taste), and the fridas tacos (6/10 on taste). The food can definitely have some more traditional flavors to it along with a more kick to their hot sauce. I wouldn't mind trying out their brunch next time.

The food here was absolutely terrible. It's almost as if the owner focused more on the ambiance of the restaurant than the actual quality of the food. Service was so so. Too bad. It's a pretty restaurant but terrible food and high prices. Would not recommend.

I went last night with 4 girlfriends. We ordered steak fajitas. It was not good. Too chewy. Nobody finished their meal and we felt rushed. The white sangria was also not good. The wait staff was not very friendly. All in all not a place I would recommend. Margaritas is a better choice.

Walking into Frida's it is easy to tell why it is named just that - beautiful decor of fake trees and flowers with paintings of Frida across the wall. Even the bathroom was adorned with bright flowers. Well lit room with a bar on the side, tiny corner where a man was playing lovely guitar music. Happy but loud lively ambiance, even the waitstaff were joyful and energetic. Free chips and salsa on the table but watch out- that salsa is SPICEY - whoa. We shared some guacamole, they make it for you tableside, it was too salty but overall good. Entrees came out quick, I ordered my usual quesadilla - almost 10/10 for gooeyness and it came with more guacamole! sides of rice, beans, sour cream and a mild red sauce that was a little more earthy than salsa. Pretty much everyone liked what they ordered.

Went here for dinner with some friends. The food, service and ambiance were all solid. I liked the enchiladas and my wife enjoyed the quesadilla. The chips and salsa are a little spicy so watch out! This restaurant is a little expensive for what it is though but overall good.

Was very excited to try this new spot but sadly was very expensive for what it was which which in one word was tasteless. Staff was very nice though.

Food was delicious. We had Guacamole Table side that was made to order and my Shrimp Burrito was so flavorful. Service was also great! Lots of Cocktails to choose from. The restaurant was so nicely set up with Booths & Tables but we sat outside as the weather was nice. They had a guitar player who played great music that fit perfectly with the atmosphere but not over powering. Definitely will be back!

Went on a late afternoon for a snack and drink after work, the place was empty, not crowded. Ordered 2 appetizers and 2 drinks for a party of 2. The drink was very small, food was bland, not tasty, soggy plantain. And to say the least the prices are jacked up.

The atmosphere is elegant. Walls covered in copies of Frida Kahlo portraits. Neon sign "Cantina" above the bar. The waitpeople are attentive and willing to assist. So why the two stars? Because there was nothing at all exceptional about the food. $48 for two meals. No alcohol. I would expect much tastier or imaginative. I could get comparable for much less at your average Mexican restaurant. The long black hair in my chimichanga didn't help either.

The food was just breathtaking! So savory and delicious and how everything was brought on time and how the service catered my pregnant wife and my son. They took care of everything and they really value the patrons . The ambience for a small place is beautiful and lively ! It makes you feel like you're in a local place in Mexico City .

Frida's is such a fun spot! From the decor to the layout, it does not feel like you are in a strip mall. I came here for lunch with my mom, and we were both happy with the food and service. She got the fish tacos which looked delicious. I ordered the birria tacos which were tasty. I will say that the dishes were not salty at all -- which is typically not the case when you're out to eat. The margaritas hit the spot; they were not sweet at all. It's a great little spot.

Very nice place with a beautiful decor inside. The servers are very friendly and always checking in on your table to see if you are ok or need anything else. The music is typical of a Mexican cuisine restaurant without having the bar or cantina feel. The Vibe is nice because you can go for dinner with family or go for drinks with friends. The food is delicious, although a bit pricey for Mexican food in my opinion. Most reviews rate it $$$ but it should be $$$$. You will be spending around $20 per cocktail if you don't go during happy hour. Most of the really good dinner plates will cost $30-$40. Overall, if you can afford to spend more than typical cantina restaurants, it is worth going to for special occasions.

The music is so loud you couldn't talk or be heard. My friend ended up with a sore throat and a headache. When you're having a dinner you want dinner music not loud music. The meals were barely adequate.

Fairly new restaurant in an old spot that has housed many restaurants. The decor was nice and there was a lively crowd with live music. Was quite noisy and hard to hear by table mates. The staff was nice and it didn't take long to get our food, which was just OK. We got an order for the table side guacamole which was severely under salted but the guacamole that came with my meal from the kitchen was salted well. I got the steak fajitas and the steak was dry. The food isn't very creative and the plating was messy. I would come here again for drinks at the bar but wouldn't dine here again.

I had high hopes for this place and ignored some of the reviews because I believe in trying local businesses for yourself and making you're own determination and unfortunately I've made mine. The food was absolutely awful. Avoid the ceviche at all costs I had a bite of something and tasted it like rubbing alcohol. I have no idea what that was. Everything else was just as bad. And to top it off when the bill came I was shocked. What was supposed to be a laid back lunch with colleagues turned to a high priced dinner. Never again.

Excellent and authentic. We really enjoyed the restaurant and we are pleased that there is once again a great restaurant in this space. Nice job with the decor and renovation. Still missing the French baguette, butter and pate (oops, wrong restaurant).

New place in an old spot. I think they can do well here but guys the prices were a little off the top!!! I can go across the street at Margaritas and get the same food and drinks at 1/2 the price. Service was good. I spent 22 on a margarita because I wanted Casamigos in it. My husband had a spicy margarita in a small glass for 18. Where's the maragarita glasses????

Was so excited to see this new spot open in the shopping center! My friend said she loves the Seaford location of Frida's so so was really pumped to try it! Drinks were good, & maybe it's just me but I felt like they were on the smaller side for the price? Arroz con pollo was a generous portion. We sat outside but the inside looked beautiful and our servers were attentive & friendly! Would definitely try again!

This place is cute & had nice ambience. Food wasn't good., there was no flavor and the portion size was so small. Drinks wasn't strong. Wasn't happy at all.

Food, service, ambiance were all fab! Would definitely go back! Their cocktails were perfect and food was fresh and filling. Espresso martini's were elite.

Horrible Sunday afternoon experience. Ordered Mexican Combo for 24.96, Sunday lunch price. Beef chimichanga contained more fat than beef, chicken flauta was hot on the outside and cold almost frozen on the inside. Music was so loud making conversation impossible. DJ was rude when I requested that the music be a little lower ( we had a 5 month old with us and 2 children under 4). He would not lower the music and actually turned it up so we had to leave and got take home containers. So sorry we did not walk out before we ordered. We were a group of 7 there to celebrate 3 October birthdays. A very disappointing time was had by all.

A pretty restaurant with small portions Service was good. Food was just ok.I ordered fajitas. Most Mexican restaurants serve an abundant platter. Hardly any pico, shredded lettuce, cheese and guacamole to accompany platter.

Yummy Food! Worth the price!! Ambiance is comfortable and seating spaced out. Try it you will be happy!
