Taco Tuesdays - Be patient lines can be long. Food is great and O'Side knows it. If you can get there while everyone else is working lines are bit shorter. After 4 pm expect to wait on Tuesdays. The line might be out the door, but they are fast. I would definitely Tip the guys making your food. The cashier also has a tip jar so you can tip twice if you like.

Frida’s Taqueria was pretty good and not too bad—in fact, it kind of rocked my tortilla-loving soul. The tacos hit that magical sweet spot between “I could eat 50 of these” and “I might already be in a food coma,” and the salsa bar was straight-up badass and pretty good, like a flavor rodeo in tiny plastic cups. I just wish they had all the fixings (where’s the pickled onions love?) and maybe a few more salsa types—give me something that makes me question my life choices in a good way. Overall, it’s the kind of place where your taste buds throw a fiesta and your napkin gives up halfway through.

Google
Delicious tacos and burritos. Varieties of fresh juices. Many customizations. The tipping before service is a little ridiculous, especially after finding out refills were pricey. Other than that, the food hits the spot and it’s a convenient low-key taco spot I enjoy. 🌮

Google
First time visiting this place and the food was "good" but didn't blow me away by any stretch. The highlight was the salsa bar which had some delicious offerings. There's no easy way to say this but the service is terrible and confusing. They split the lines and don't indicate that there's 2 lines. So there's lots of people waiting for nothing just so they can get back in line. Expect to spend a lot of time waiting since they only have 2 people preparing the food while the rest of the staff stands around. They need serious help on the serving side to make the experience better. Overall it wasn't bad and I might come back in the future.

Google
Exceptionally tasty delicious food. Prepared in front of you. Excellent salsa bar, numerous Agua fresca flavors, fresh cucumbers, radishes, and limes at the salsa bar. Only downfall is their Guacamole, which has consistently tasted rotten 🤢 so I suggest getting on the side and trying it before you ruin the food. Also not the best flavor of Birria, too much cinnamon and cloves.

The tacos here are amazing! I love the Asad and adobada. Also, make sure to try the fresh waters they have. Milk with strawberry is my favorite.

Google
Food was great. Taco Tuesdays aren't the days to try it though. Line is out the door

Its not bad, I have had better, it was a little pricey, there is plenty of seating and food came out in a timely manner, they also have a self serve condiments bar

Yelp
AGUA FRESCA (5 stars) Why must an Agua Fresca be a must? They are so refreshing. I couldn't decide which flavor to sip on and was told I could mix them and that it tastes better when you do. Went for the two flavors I couldn't decide on.! JAMAICA + MELON - wow. Getting the best of both worlds. Ok why have I not thought about this before. It is hard to describe but if you have had both flavors, imagine both, it's like a party quencher in the mouth!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Until the next sip...

Yelp
Their specialty are tacos. I tried quesa carnitas tacos. They are nice size. I ate two and was the right amount for me. They also make homemade aquas with several flavors to choose. I had strawberry lemonade. Real strawberry pieces but a little too sweet for me. The ladies working the register were friendly and informative of the special pricing on Tuesday and Thursday. A beautiful mural of Frida at the entrance. Indoor and outdoor seating. Very casual. It was very hot the day I went and no air conditioning so we sat outside.

Yelp
Tried Frida's Taqueria for the first time and got the al pastor fries absolutely loaded and flavorful. The meat was tender, crispy on the edges, and freshly carved right in front of us at the taquero window. Loved the setup: you order at the register, then take your receipt to the window where everything is made to order. Super fresh, super satisfying. Bonus points for the salsa bar a great selection to customize your plate. Casual spot with serious flavor. Definitely coming back to try more.

Yelp
Fresh and delicious food! We ordered tacos, mulitas & agua frescas. Everything tasted great! Go check it out. You won't be disappointed!

Yelp
After discovering this spot we do not get tacos anywhere else. These food here is so fresh and authentic. There is a wide array of choices, from tacos, burritos, queso tacos, birrias and more! There's also many different Agua Frescas. There are two lines- one to order and one to pick up food. When you get to the front they'll ask you what you'd like on your meals. There's even a side bar with lime, radishes and cucumbers. The staff is friendly. They do have restrooms. Plenty of tables. And the ambiance is superb! So if you're in town come try them out. You won't regret it. Warning: The line is pretty long on Tuesdays- but believe me it's worth it.

Yelp
Extremely delicious carne asada burrito , carne asada tacos and grilled chicken tacos. Flavors are so well balanced. They don't play about the salsa it's tasty and packs a great kick so if you can't handle spice. Maybe get salsa on the side. On a Wednesday evening the line was short and everyone was very nice and helpful. Took the food to go and it stayed intact and very fresh. The place is very legit/traditional and has beautiful mural on the outside. You can sit inside or outside. It's a vibe .

Yelp
Had friends in from Thousand Oaks and they swore by this restaurant since their daughter had lived down in San Marcos for a minute. We live in Murrieta and haven't tried this particular Mexican restaurant yet. Hubby always tries nachos because he is gluten free and feels he gets more bang for his buck. The nachos were okay. The carnitas tasted good and had decent flavor. They had a cheddar cheese sauce ( maybe home made?) but reminded him of nacho cheese sauce - he's not a fan. He said they were good but not great. Service was quick and efficient. Shop was clean and empty at 1pm on a Saturday. I had several different flavored street tacos- asada and chicken. Both were decently flavored and tasted good. The addition of their salsa made everything brighten up and sing in my mouth. Out friends loved their four tacos a piece and swore these were the best tacos they have ever had. They don't have as many Mexican restaurants to choose from as we do so for us this was probably a 1 and done since we have good/great places closer to us. * Forgot to take pics since we were starved.

Yelp
THIS PLACE IS AWESOME!!!!!! Date night will be a win here. People are cool, music rules, atmosphere is perfect!!!

Yelp
Food is top notch! The tacos taste like street tacos. The flavor of open fire on the carne asada is soooo gooood! We had the quesadilla con carne asada Carne asada fries and tacos de adobada The service was excellent. The ambiance is so nice. Makes me feel like a taco shop in mexico.
google avatar

Yelp
Best tacos in the area for sure! We use to go at least once every week. Unfortunately for me the ambience is key, and some months ago I was noticing that the noise level is just out of control. The music is so loud that you can't talk, no matter if you are inside or outside. We used to go late, so we just think that it was a "friendly" way to say "We're closing soon" but I went on a lunch time and the music level was very annoying too. Love the place but sadly that last Friday was maybe a good bye.

Yelp
I dined here on Tuesday at 930pm. The food was incredibly good and did not disappoint. I would have given 5 stars if not for the line confusion. You stand in line to order. Moved pretty quickly. However Once you order at the cash register you need to figure out where the line is for the "pick up". Many groups of diners were just hanging out in front of the pick up I asked the cashier where the end of line was and she kinda just pointed and somewhere over there. (Groups of 3-4 people ) not forming a line I held my ticket in view and waited on the outskirts of where the people were haphazardly waiting . Eventually a cook (they make each order fresh) waved me over It didn't take long (10 min) so not a big issue. You give the cook your ticket and advise him how you want your order prepared. I opted for "everything " that comes with it. The cook was super nice and offered me grilled veggies. Onions and jalapeños topped with a few tostada chips. The salsa bar was kept tidy and full. Lime plentiful. The drinks were the most expensive item on my order. Going on Tuesday and Thursday. Tacos are 1.99 each!! My Agua fresco was $6.29. This place. Eating for here. is geared more for the younger crowd. Music was a club vibe. Not my taste but at least it wasn't too loud. Decor funky. Mexican Coke was available for purchase. Tables had napkin holders. Overall I had a great dining experience and the food was high quality. Carne asada was lean and tender !! Very very well prepared !! Highly recommend

Yelp
The food here never disappoints. I tried the baked potato this time. And it was amazing! I loved it. It was so big! Definitely can feed 2 people. I'll be back to get it again!!

Yelp
Oh man, let's start off by saying that I went on Yelp prior to my summer vacation to determine what type of food I want it. I came across Frida Taqueria instantly I was sold by the pictures The food was amazing pictures to follow for some people. This may look basic, but the flavor of authentic sickness that came along with this was out of this world, the greenand red were amazing. Ambience was really cute. You basically order your food and then you go to the window and they ask you what all you would like on your Asada fries burrito, etc. somewhat of how chipotle does it. If you're down in the SoCal galleria and curious if this place is a hit or miss, I am going to definitely tell you it is a hit so you better not miss .

Yelp
lemme tell YALL, Frida's in Oceanside made all our chonies DROP. now THIS... THIS IS A 10/10 2 al pastor tacos & 1 birria taco w/ everything on it. 10/10 Side note: they didnt have the Birria dippydippy PERO LIKE still fire af, I can't imagine it with the dip this burrito was HUGE & so worth it, it was well wrapped and had a equal distribution of meat & everything that was put in this was so yummy, it is big enough for 2 meals if you're not sharing. If you don't get it as your main meal it is good for sharing with the table! Fridas Taqueria; 2011 Mission Ave, Oceanside, CA

Yelp
If you don't feel like going to TJ but are craving a Tj style taco, then go get some tacos here. Are they as good as TJ, no but close enough. I don't usually get asada anywhere I go but Fridas does it right. Good flavor and very minimal fatty meat, other taco spots take note! The aguas frescas are also very tasty!
google avatar

Yelp
This little restaurant leaves a BIG impression! We got a little of everything for our first time and 10/10 would recommend. The line got long after we ordered and per the people there a crowd is usually the norm but it would have been worth the wait.

Yelp
Food (5/5 stars): Frida's Taqueria is a great North County taqueria with locations in Oceanside, Vista, and Escondido! On my first visit, I like to sample different tacos and went with the Adobada, Asada, and Quesabirria. My favorite by far was the Quesabirria because the meat was so tender and juicy. The Adobada and Asada were delicious, too. I slightly preferred the Adobada because it was more flavorful. Highly recommend! Experience (5/5 stars): * Price: pretty reasonable * Wait Time: there was a bit of a wait on Sunday evening * Service: good * Parking: there's a parking lot * Ambiance: I love the decorations, especially the Frida mural on the outside
google avatar

Yelp
Top notch tacos and service! The staff is welcoming and lively and they know how to wrap a to-go taco! The packaging alone was worth going back for but the flavors and staff are the better the value.
google avatar

Benjamin I.

Yelp
I love the food and the Taqueros but Not offering free water for customers and forcing you to pay $2.50 for a bottle water is Crazy to me!
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent food.Very busy on Taco Tuesday. Be prepared to wait in line, but we'll worth it. Staff is nice too!

Yelp
Great taco deals on Tuesday and Thursday. Their baked potato is the best thing ever! Love this place.
google avatar

Stephanie S.

Yelp
They have really good aguas frescos here, it's our favorite. My go to flavor here is the strawberry one! It kinda tastes like strawberry milk! The mango one is also yummy too. I personally like their pastor tacos. My hubby likes the chicharon tacos also. The green avocado sauce is pretty good on the tacos. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Eric H.

Yelp
Burrito was STUFFED with meat, they did not cheap out here with the portions. Quick, friendly service. Ate outside in the evening sun, there's nice Hispanic music playing at a reasonable volume. Horchata was a bit watered down.
google avatar

Linda H.

Yelp
This our usual place to eat after a day at the range with my boys. Some of the girls at this establishment are rude. It ruins the entire experience. Food & drinks are food, but service is less desired.
google avatar

Michael S.

Yelp
Been here more than 10 times..mainly for Taco Tuesday. Went yesterday..waited in line 45 minutes for four skimpy tacos on very stale..dry corn tortillas presented on a dirty tray. Lackluster at best..I'm done.
google avatar

Pedro S.

Yelp
I really love the queso, birria, tacos the meet is very tender, and soft. The only thing I would change is to toast the tortilla a little bit more. I personally like it more crunchy. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating for your convenience, Fridas has plenty of parking and is family friendly.

Roxanne V.

Yelp
Absolutely the bomb! Food was authentic and felt like we were eating in Mexico . The family was visiting from out of state and they impressed with "el sabor " I had a birria quesadillas with the works and everyone had a variety of tacos and agua frescas . U won't be disappointed with the food or the menu! The music was bumping really loud so we had to speak louder so they could take the order. Other than that , it was clean , lively , with great service . Inside and outside seating available . Can't wait to visit again !!!
google avatar

Helen R.

Yelp
We ordered a few things. Main focus of the pic: Taco of asado (beef), pollo asado (chicken), birria The tacos were absolute fire!!! I'm from Texas and the food is different there but damn these tacos really blew everything out of the water! Will be hitting this place up every time I come! My fav taco was the birria! White drink: horchata (rice milk) Green drink: limonada de pepino (cucumber lemonade) Orangeish drink: agua de piña (pineapple) The drinks were also super good! I didn't get a picture but my aunt got the fresa (strawberry) drink and it was by far the best tasting one! If I could give this place more than a 5 I would! The girl who helped us was super nice and patient with us. Since we were from out of town we were indecisive on what to try...since we prob won't be back for a while. The place itself is like any fast food chain. There's nothing special about the vibe or anything but the food is the reason to be there.
google avatar

Christian E.

Yelp
Papa rellena de pollo con todo maravilloso! Loaded chicken potato was amazing! Well served and flavorful! Agua de fresa is authentic Mexican, sooooo delicious! The staff was very friendly and a pleasure to interact with. The atmosphere is clean, well decorated and modern but still maintains its Mexican roots. Wife and I give this place a 10/10 and highly recommended. We will be back very soon! Thank you!

Yelp
Rotten food, Rotten salsa, Cashier with bad attitude, Slow Slow Service.. So I just want to say when this place first opened It was really good and it has gone downhill from there. Today Tuesday July 9th I went in to get some tacos with my wife and my friend and the cashier had an attitude when I asked her which agua fresca the "yellow" one was. She said "look at the sign" I said.. Thank you but what flavor is the yellow one I can't tell off of the sign.. and with an attitude she replied Oh it's pineapple.. They have a cashier for hire sign no wonder.. I guess a cashiers have attitudes.. Now the food.. The salsa bar was horrible.. those cucumbers (picture attached) had to have been there for days and days maybe even a week.. cucumbers don't get like that in 24 hours or 48 hours.. Even the limes looked so dry and brown. I know people are always trying to save money but I believe that they need somebody to check the freshness of the food before they put it out. Like come on look at those cucumbers they look horrible. The tacos.. The taco meat tasted like beef jerky was so dry This is probably taco meat from the day before. Rotten salsa that was on the tacos tasted rancid and spoiled It had a tangy beer taste to it That's how you know the tomatoes have gone bad. We took one bite from the tacos and I was like no maybe it's all in my head I took another bite and I was like nope and then everybody in my party took bite to their tacos and they're like yeah these tacos are not good. The servers were so slow it took us 45 minutes to get our tacos. And there was only like 12 people inline. This place used to be good when they first opened up but now it's not. I will definitely not be coming back here anymore..

Deneice R.

Yelp
Excellent food and service I frequent this restaurant often. The food is Always exceptional which is pretty rare for too many other restaurants.
google avatar

Dallas W.

Yelp
Good, inexpensive tacos that are open late. Their carne asada fries are great too. Good salsas. I did not like the burrito (pretty greasy). The service is solid and the ambiance is fine.
google avatar

Donn O.

Yelp
What a hidden gem. Great decor and atmosphere. Bright and energetic inside. Come hungry as the portion sizes are huge. We tried the nachos, burritos and loaded fries. Everything was excellent. The asada is the best but don't pass of the chicken or birria. Make sure to try the cute salsa bar for your condiments. Love love this place.
google avatar

Kim T.

Yelp
My coworker and I stumbled on this location and was so pleasantly surprised at how great everything tasted! The tacos were well priced and sized - I ordered 2 and was pretty full. Their selection of agua frescas was amazing, so many flavors I wanted to try. It's kind of a self service style restaurant so we were able to order and eat within 20-30 minutes. The salsa bar was fantastic and I loved that they offered cucumbers. Overall I highly recommend this restaurant.

Veronica R.

Yelp
Don't go eat in here The food is good but unfortunately the cashier had a very bad attitude she was very rude when I ask a question shouldn't be like "sorry we were just trying to eat and spend money" But nop friends don't go here 0/10

Aaliyah R.

Yelp
I come here frequently for tacos during my lunch time or even for dinner, but today I had a horrible experience with the ladies at the front. I bought an Agua Fresca which was almost $7 and I didn't like the pulp so I asked if I could get a bottled coke which is CHEAPER than the Agua. The coke is about $3-4. Both of the girls said I wasn't able to get a new drink since I already sipped from the Agua Fresca. She tried to charge me for a new drink. Why would I pay for another drink if I paid $7 for the Agua I didn't like? Out of her damn mind. I asked for a manager and she told me if I had a complain to write a review so here I am. They definitely lost my service here.
google avatar

Yelp
Fridas Taqueria is on the other side of the tracks in the Mexican food belt of Oside (Eastside Mission Ave). I delayed coming here due to the so-so reviews. I think y'all are crazy because this place is great. Is it a bit complicated? Sure... IYKYK I guess with the ordering then making process. I will break it down for you: 1. Get in line to order on the left 2. Pay for your order (cook food, bottle drink, dessert, agua fresca) 3. Get your slip/deserts from the cashier 4. Get in the line on the right to wait for the cook 5. Give cook your slip and he will ask you what modifiers you want (guac, cilantro, onions, salsa) 6. Pick up any agua frescas you ordered from the drink counter in the middle (it's like 30 ounces and refills are $2) 7. Get your tray of food and sit down wherever 8. Go to the salsa bar and pick up extra salsa, radish or limes. Btw there are no mild salsas here- spicy spice. The food is divine. The cheesecake is some of the best I've ever had. The murals, theme and decor is modern but artsy and so beautiful. They service is friendly. One of my new favs!
google avatar

Huong N.

Yelp
My friend recommended this place to me and now it's my go to taco shop when I'm in Oceanside! You order first and then follow the line and give the taco guys your ticket and then they prepare your order. Tuesdays will be busy so prepare to wait during prime dinner hours! The meat is tender and full of flavor and their tortillas are so good, not dry like some other places. Their must get is their fruit waters!! You can also pay for an additional refill and it's less than buying another fruit water!
google avatar

Suzanne C.

Yelp
Good place for fresh food and nice ambiance. They also give complimentary salsa and roasted peppers.
google avatar

Rebecca N.

Yelp
I've always loved Freida's at all the farmer's markets and I'm so happy for them that they have been able to expand and have multiple restaurant locations now. Come support a true local gem! Food is delicious and fresh, the salsa bar is on point. Hubby got the pastor nachos, carnitas mulita and I got a pollo taco. Someone mentioned grease on another review but that's standard if you order pork or goat. Have you never had carnitas, birria or Al pastor before buddy?
google avatar

Highro T.

Yelp
They can improve on Food, service and restrooms , over priced tacos with no flavor , using cheap meat , not friendly and dirty restroom , wouldn't recommend this place , you will get better tacos at any street tacos stand
google avatar

Gabe F.

Yelp
Frida's is our new go to taco shop. Tj style tacos. Also serving mulitas, burritos, papas, fries, chips, tortas, queso tacos,. Drinks include their fresh aquas frescas All the meats are fresh and tasty . I really enjoyed the adobada, carne asada and birria. Some of our go to items were the carne asada fries, papa de birria, carne asada mulitas, carne asada burritos.. All were stuff with meat with big portions. Both red and green salsas white one of the red being very hot so be careful. Evenings and weekends can get pretty packed. You order the step over to the pick up area where they cook your food right in front of you. The food can get greasy at times so if you don't like grease at all probably not the place for you. They also have grilled chiles and onions.
google avatar

Hayley G.

Yelp
Idk how anyone can give less than 5 stars for their Taco Tuesday tacos. Really good although sometimes there's a line
google avatar

Angela T.

Yelp
This is such a cute spot that had the potential of becoming Oceanside's Tacos el G BUT the tacos are terrible! The Al pastor was so so oily, literally it just tasted like I was eating/drinking oil! The carnitas were also desabridas. The chicharrón was okay. The cheese on the quesatacos also doesn't have too much flavor and maybe the tortillas are too big but the proportions are off... Also service is meh. The girl at the front desk didn't tell us we had to take our receipt to the taco guy so we were just waiting without our food for a while. We told her it was our first time too!
google avatar

Yelp
Frida's Taqueria has finally returned to Oceanside! Now located on Mission Avenue, Frida's Taco shop has been a Local Favorite at the markets for years. Frida's Tacos first started selling tacos at the Thursday morning farmers market in downtown Oceanside. Next, they graduated to selling their food at the evening sunset market, where they gathered a following. Afterwards, they expanded to opening a storefront in Escondido, where they are doing very well. Now you can find they are great food on Mission Avenue in their new storefront just east of the 5 Hwy. Serving favorites like their adobado mulitas, scrumptious tortas, papas asados, nachos, humongous asada fries and their famous tacos, there's something here for everyone! Their Aguas Frescas selection is amazing too! I loved the mixed flavors of mango-pineapple, cucumber-lime and their staple Jamaica, strawberry or horchata. I Love the window-view to Kitchen which allows full transparency on how the food is being prepared. Their bathrooms are clean. There's ample indoor seating that is great for groups & families and they have some outdoor seating as well. Although they are still working out the kinks of their New Opening, they have a very specific menu packed with flavorful favorites, exceptional portions and great prices. They even have military discounts. Stop in and treat yourself to Frida's Tacos
google avatar

Lori R.

Yelp
Wow this place knocks it out of the park! What a fun spot. The ambiance is really neat and the food was so tasty. I couldn't resist an agua Fresca (mango orange is always a hit) though I wish they had a smaller size. They do have a lot of gluten free options. All of the meat is gluten free and the corn tortillas are prepped on their own grill. Obviously avoid the tortas but I had a lot of gluten free options. I got the carne asada and the pollo asado quesotacos. The tacos are giant here, you really only need two. They were also pretty spicy so next time I'd get salsa on the side. A great addition to the area and can't wait to go again.
google avatar

Crystal S.

Yelp
A good Taco place is hard to find especially out here in the Oceanside area Frida's you nailed it. I wouldn't recommend coming on a Tuesday unless you don't mind waiting in a pretty long line but any other day of the week it moves pretty quick. Place is casual self seating.
google avatar

Shondeen G.

Yelp
Food is great only detail lines are long they don't move fast I've been in line 30min just to get the food. Personally if you have 3 people prepping should be faster.

Yelp
Best Al Pastor Tacos I have ever had, hands down. Wonderful drinks, authentic experience. Must go whenever you're in town. they put so much meat on the tacos, so they are incredibly filling.
