Excellent rooms, especially the suites, and the staff (Rebecca, Zoe, and all) was very helpful. We changed rooms during our stay, just because they were fully booked when we made reservations, and they helped move our luggage from one room to the other. Clean rooms and nice Jacuzzis in the rooms. Internet access could have been more consistent, but vacationing on San Juan Island means enjoying the area outside the room!

We visited the Friday Harbor House to celebrate my wife's 60th birthday for a weekend with family. We had people coming from all over the United States. I must make take the time to recognize two of your employees. Molly was a great resource as we set up and managed all of our guest accounts and rooms. Jaymie was absolutely amazing! She was incredibly supportive, and friendly is an understatement! She went above and beyond for us so many times it would take too much space to list each instance on its own. What made her service so special was it really was heart felt and genuine. She was a primary reason my wife's birthday weekend celebration was a resounding success! Thank you!

We came here for dinner and had a wonderful experience! Petra was our server and she was such a delight to be around and spend our evening with. The views were unmatched and the sunset burger was delicious!

My overall experience was amazing. The hotel was in a great location and the staff were incredible. I gave this place an overall 5 stars even though we had problems with our room. Despite the problems, it was the manager, Molly who handled it well that made a difference to the situation. We had problems with our toilet and brought it up to her attention and she immediately attempted to fix it. At dinner, she once again apologized for the inconvenience. The food at the restaurant was very nice. Our server Austen was attentive and personable which made our dining experience memorable. Back to the toilet, middle of the night it was not fixed and on top of that, the sensor light also didn’t turn off. So needless to say, we had terrible sleep. We brought it up to Molly again in the morning and she really tried to rectify the problem. I appreciate hotels that genuinely do their best to try to make things right which is why I will stay again and highly recommend this place. Our room was a one off experience and the way the hotel managed the situation was nice. I felt they really took care of us.

We stayed at Friday Harbor House from June 23rd through June 27th in Room 32. It was a Harbor view and it was absolutely stunning. The harbor view is amazing and worth the extra cost. The restaurant that is part of the hotel is amazing as well. Their breakfasts were the best we had throughout our stay. We tried different breakfast places. They also provide pour over coffee in the room which was nice since we were up early. They also had instant oatmeal in the room and a hot water electric kettle. Additional coffee station was set up at the end of the hallway at 7:30 each morning. At the end of the hallway, after coffee was put away, they had cold Pellegrino waters and snacks like popcorn and chips available for guests at no charge. Beds were comfy. Hotel is also close and walkable to all the restaurants and shops. Staff was very nice. |The only thing that would have been nice to have is either a small microwave in the room or one available for guests at the end of the hallway where the snacks are set up. They come in handy when available. The other thing I would like to see the hotel add is a small recycle bin in the room for cans and plastic bottles. I'm a big recycler and it's important for all hotels to recycle so that we're not throwing so much in the trash.|Great stay and shout out to Becca and all the staff.|On our last day, our server at breakfast, Alex, was wonderful. She was so attentive and friendly and we had a good conversation.

We stayed for a three day birthday trip for the hubby. We paid for a Marine view room. Was not disappointed. Location can’t be beat..it was literally a minute drive from the Ferry landing. Room was quiet, bed was comfortable, and it had two big comfy chairs where I spent plenty of time watching the ferries come and go and Kenmore air land in the harbor. Jacuzzi tub and L’occtaine bath products made us feel super pampered. Service was lovely - breakfast in the dining room was beyond fabulous - their potatoes were the best I’ve had. Water, coffee and snacks located on the 3rd floor. They left a birthday greeting and come chocolates in the room when we arrived. Budget wise - it is a pretty penny - but totally worth it. Will for sure stay here again!

This was our first time traveling to San Juan Island and decided to splurge and stay at one of the marina-facing rooms in the Friday Harbor House. The room was amazing, cozy, loved the fireplace and tub, and had ample room for the two of us. The hotel is centrally located and we loved being able to walk everywhere. The staff were amazing and the food was delicious. This was by far one of the best hotels we’ve stayed us and it really pained us to leave. We can’t wait to be back and spend more time in this lovely island and at the Friday Harbor House!

It is very impressive when after a two day stay you remember the names of four team members.Sarah Tara Zoe and Molly (my apologies if spelling off). The communication amongst themselves is every bit impressive as their customer experience. Thank you Tara for finding me a computer mouse after searching several stores. They definitely understand that the little things make a big difference. Excellent food as well. Great place to keep your head where your feet are.

Yelp
We absolutely loved our stay here to celebrate my birthday weekend. The customer service was amazing! They went above and beyond to help us out since I brought my birthday cake with us, and they kindly offered, without us asking, to store it in their large kitchen fridge since it wouldn't necessarily fit in our tiny room fridge. That left a lasting impression on us and made our whole trip. One of the concierge members then took it upon herself to bring us one of the chef's personal knives so we could cut my birthday cake later that evening. It was a lovely and thoughtful touch for the concierge to think outside the box and go out of their way to accommodate us. I appreciated the service here so much! The views from their outside patio garden are gorgeous and peaceful, you can watch the ferry boats and water planes coming in and out of the harbor while hearing the small birds hangout. The fire pits were poppin' in the evening, and everyone was having a good time just chatting away while all retreating around 10ish for quiet hours. Everyone here was very respectful and classy. The hotel provides snacks on the third floor for both evening and morning, and at least our room had a giant hot tub, which we thoroughly enjoyed--we loved that they provided us with robes as well. You can't go wrong with this hotel. We loved our stay and will be back for sure. We will also hopefully try their kitchen and bar next time.

Yelp
Check your bill, we were overcharged on our bottle of Prosecco. Do not get the charcuterie board! 2 slices of salami, 4 small pieces of Gouda, bad nuts.... The service was great and the view was great

Yelp
This hotel was amazing. Loved the waterfront view from our room and all of the little extras. Super clean and comfortable room. Book this hotel - you won't regret it!

Yelp
Pretty awesome place. Great customer service, walking distance to most everything. The views were amazing and the room had lots of space. The outdoor fire pits are warm and cozy

Yelp
We had such an incredible experience here! My mom and I just stopped in for a drink at sunset, but the staff was amazing. They set us up outside with a fire pit and blankets to enjoy the view. Very attentive and kind people work here. Small appetizer, salad, and entree menu, but extensive drink list. I'd love to come back in the summer!

Yelp
One of the best meals & services I had in a while. Max was OUTSTANDING as our server, down to earth, polite & just normal human with some jokes on the sides. Super easy to converse with. Food was amazing especially Boston Bibb Salad! OH MY GOSH. No words. just order it. Braised beef short rib melts in your mouth and it is served with mashed potatoes & carrots although they will substitute if needed and it was DELISH as well as Yellow Curry Clams. All - SO GOOD. View - amazing. Staff great from Max, Bryce & Jaymie. Such a great place. Food: 5 stars Price: 4 stars Service: 5 star Ambiance: 5 stars Overall: 5 stars

Yelp
Enjoyed delicious sandwich here today. The best view on the harbor. Loved watching the ferry come and go. Limited menu but the selections were very yummy.

Yelp
30th anniversary trip to San Juan Island. Stayed here. Wife found this hotel. Very nice room. Has a shower, soaker jetted tub in the room, fire pits outside, beautiful views, and great hospitality. Complimentary snacks and flavored sparkling waters. Fire place in the room. This was sweet place to stay. Close to town, everything is in walking distance. Loved the location. And right across parking lot was one the best Italian restaurant we've eaten called Vinny's. Highly recommend this place. We loved it.

Yelp
Amazing views, snacks, coffee, bath products- super high quality. Everything you could you want and more.

Yelp
Service was the best part. Food was okay. Pasta was undercooked and dry. Carrots were undercooked. I expected more quality for the price.

Yelp
The remarkable San Juan Islands consists of several islands. On the Pacific Northwest landscape between Washington and Canada is the main island of San Juan, there resides Friday Harbor House. This place exceeded my expectations from its views, ambience, staff, and food; it was all divine! Their red and white house wines were excellent too. I am grateful to have enjoyed my stay and definitely going back! P.s. You need to ride a ferry to transport yourself and vehicle, make reservations in advance through the wsdot website. Expect the boat ride to be about 1-hour. A nice bonus on the ferry was getting to see an Orca swimming in the water.

Yelp
Most incredible place to stay, and to eat. of all the incredible hotels I've stayed at in my life this is probably one of the tops.

Yelp
I was so looking forward to San Juan island and Friday Harbor specifically. When I found this hotel, I thought immediately "that is where i want to stay!". The reviews were great; the photos made the hotel look great, but upon arrival, I was so disappointed. The shower and tub were stained brown and there was a window a/c unit! For the price you pay, it is absolutely insane. We were upgraded to a full harbor view, which was GREAT, but the noise from the restaurant right below made it very difficult to get any sleep (until about 11pm). The restaurant was great! The staff was phenomenal (especially Michael, who was there when we checked in). This is a place I've wanted to visit for over 15 years and while the island itself is very tranquil and beautiful, I had much higher expectations for this hotel.

Frank D.

Yelp
Booked a reservation a month in advance requesting a good waterview table. Called a day before the reservation to confirm and spoke to a lady who came off as rude mentioning all seats had 180 degree views. Upon arrival was seated in the absolute worst spot with the worst view on the deck - definitely didn't have 180 degree views (rear with heaters blocking view). It was very clear that no accommodations were made despite my many requests. For the price tag this type of service is not acceptable and thus my rating. Food was good, waitstaff was good. Just don't expect any special accommodations to be considered unless you're a regular

Yelp
The Friday Harbor House is a small boutique hotel directly up hill in front of the harbor. It is steps from shops, restaurants & Kings Market. There is lots of free parking. There is a full service restaurant & bar in the lobby serving breakfast & dinner. We checked into room 36 with the best views of the harbor. Loved the wall of windows & the small patio. The ferry horns were fabulous! Our room had a king bed, fireplace, large screen television, fridge, safe & jacuzzi for 2. Our room was very clean & comfortable. We had towels and coffee items refreshed. Morgan and the staff were wonderful, personable and helpful throughout our stay Our room was facing east and it was very warm in the morning.. We had a small portable air conditioner that made a lot of noise and didn't do much cooling. We were woken up at 5:30 AM by the noisy sound of a garbage truck outside our window.

Yelp
This is a review for the restaurant only. We came here for dinner on our honeymoon and they gave us free champagne. How nice. The dinner was superb. Tapas styled restaurant with a few entrees as well. We had the Brussels sprouts, the burrata which was unbelievable, the pork shoulder burrito, and the hanger steak. They were all equally amazing and perfectly cooked. The hanger steak was the so tender and flavorful. Highly recommend. The view was amazing. We sat outside on the harbor and they gave us blankets to keep us warm.

Yelp
We came for breakfast before our ferry. It's was delicious! A perfect ending to our perfect weekend. We got the breakfast burger. It was cooked to order and the egg on top was a perfect touch. The potatoes were amazing too. I saw other people's breakfasts like the eggs bennies and they look amazing too. Highly recommend this place!

Yelp
Beautiful hotel in prime location. We originally had some difficulties with the hotel due to a late cancellation, but management fixed the mistake and we really appreciated their assistance in scheduling us for October. The service is top notch, comfy beds, and great coffee in the rooms. Plus the outdoor space with fire pits and drinks is lovely, even on a cold fall evening. Beautiful views! The restaurant is equally delicious - definitely on the pricey side, but that's expected on the Island. Can't wait to visit again!

Yelp
My spouse and I stayed here last weekend and it was AMAZING! Molly was fantastic, had great recommendations and was as hospitable as possible!!! The french toast was one of my favorite things there. It is on the breakfast menu as a side but should be their all-star dish. Overall, they created a great experience and weekend getaway!

Yelp
Very friendly and helpful reception desk personnel. The best view in Friday Harbor by a mile. I wished they offered discounts for military members. I asked and it not something they offer. The location is super ideal. We were at this hotel many years ago and left us with a very good impression and hence we returned. I do want to mention that the harbor facing rooms (the best rooms at the property) are in need of a refresh/remodel. Our room door was very loose and difficult to close. The room was definitely dated and in need of fresh paint. For the price point I was surprised that this important attention to detail has been neglected. The harbor facing rooms should be prioritized for a remodel or refresh. I will inquire in the future prior to making reservations at the Friday Harbor House. The view, location, friendly staff earned a 4 star review, however, these rooms are most certainly in need of remodel.

Yelp
Let me count the ways that we loved friday harbor house. Their staff is most helpful and courteous. They took care of our every need. Our room was elegant and most comfortable. Including down pillows, luxurious bathrobes, l'ocitane products and soft full towels. The view of the marina was fantastic. I was with a friend who has difficulties getting up and downstairs and the staff without us asking changed our room for easier accommodations. There is a small park called overlook right outside of the hotel where it's a great place to sit for a lunch or a glass of wine. It overlooks the harbor. The in room fireplace was an incredible bonus!!! I wouldn't stay anywhere Else in Friday Harbor. And they are walking distance from the ferry and wonderful shops and restaurants.

Yelp
We usually boat over to Friday Harbor and stay aboard, but decided to take the ferry this trip and stay in town. Friday Harbor house did not disappoint!! The attention to detail and high level of customer service was amazing! The staff was super friendly and accommodated any need. We enjoyed coffee by the fire pit each morning (in room has fresh ground coffee from SJ roasters for the chemex or espresso service from restaurant), room service (which was delicious w/ large portions) and the relaxation of that gorgeous view from the grounds. The room it's self was big, with a comfortable king bed (amazing pillows!), sofa, table, chair by fireplace, desk, and mini fridge/coffee area. There is no way to truly 'close off' the bathroom vanity area as the 2 person jetted tub is what separates it (the toilet/shower room has a door though). We choose to explore the island (as we don't usually have a car) and were greeted on our way out/in each time. We were even able to text the front desk on our way back from dinner at Roach Harbor with our drink order, which they timed perfectly, and had waiting by the fire pit upon our return! Thank you Friday Harbor House for helping to make this much needed getaway amazing!!

Yelp
This has been a gorgeous home away from home for my husband and I- we can't thank the staff enough for their hospitality and love. Last time we stayed at Friday Harbor House (last weekend) we threw open the shades in the morning to a glorious view of the charming harbor on a beautiful March day. The coffee in the room is the best I've had, the house-made burger is out of this world, and the staff always goes above and beyond. We had cocktails on the deck while we attempted to figure out a way to stay longer. As always. Thank you Friday Harbor House and we will see you soon!

Yelp
I came here for my birthday and absolutely loved it. I got the romance package which was lovely and very well thought out. The view of my room was amazing, worth the trip out here. The restaurant here is a great option and looks so cool at night. My hotel package came with a couples massage at Lavendera, a small business just a quick walk down the street. It was a comfortable and relaxing experience. I would recommend this hotel to others

Yelp
This is an absolutely picturesque hotel right in the heart of Friday Harbor. For our stay, we enjoyed the harbor view room which included a jet tub, balcony, and gas fireplace. Overall, the room was comfortable, and fairly clean with the only downside being that the tub was a little dirty. The COVID restrictions limited service a little in the hotel. Dinner was not being served, and the bar service was limited to ordering at the bar with no table service, but the staff was still extremely friendly and efficient. They made sure to accommodate where they could by turning the fire pits on outside at a moments notice. The staff was also extremely knowledgeable about local spots and what was open and what wasn't, making navigating the local restaurants much easier. We felt very safe, with everyone masked up, plastic dividers up at the front desk, and hand sanitizer places throughout the hotel lobby. One important note is the parking is a little difficult to get in and out of, so be prepared if you have a larger vehicle.

M M.

Yelp
We loved our stay! From the moment we called in to make a reservation the staff was nothing but friendly and helpful. The food at the restaurant is amazing(a little on a pricier side but I would imagine that it's not easy, nor cheap maintaining this location). We had salmon and lamb chops. Lamb chops were juicy, came with quinoa which was cooked to perfection also. Wine list is great! The next morning we ordered room service, breakfast was delicious. We got a better view from the room, thanks to the hotel staff. We saw the harbor going to sleep and waking up. Fireplace and jacuzzi in the room was very nice also. We spent the night but it really felt like a mini vacation.

Yelp
Thanks to all the incredible Staff at Friday Harbor House for helping to make our visit to San Juan Island so incredible! We have never stayed at a place where all the Staff were so consistently kind, friendly and accommodating. Michael at the front desk was especially awesome and was always there to answer questions. The service staff and the food at their restaurant was great as well. The location was convenient yet the rooms were quiet, very clean, the bed was so comfortable and the shower was great, too. The jacuzzi bathtub after our long hikes was perfect at the end of the day as well. We can't wait to return and stay at Friday Harbor House again!

Yelp
We absolutely LOVED our stay at Friday Harbor House. The staff's communication prior to checking in was excellent and prompt. They even accommodated some of our outside of the box requests. I was actually planning to propose over the weekend and they were quick to offer ideas and suggestions to make it the perfect day! Molly in particular was a real rockstar. The room and overall experience were excellent. Watching the sunset next to an outdoor fireplace moments after dropping our bags was surreal. The whole thing was a treat and I highly recommend you check out this gem. Thank you again to the staff. She said YES! :)

Yelp
My husband and I had a lovely stay here for a weekend trip to Friday Harbor. The location is very convenient. We were able to walk here from the ferry landing area in about five minutes. It is also within walking distance of the restaurants, shopping, and several of the outdoor activity meeting areas. The room was clean and had everything that we needed. It also included a nice tub for relaxation. The only complaint about the room (and more my husband's complaint) was that the TV was small. It was more similar in size to a computer screen than a TV screen. This probably isn't a problem for most since the island is all about the outdoor activities. The breakfast buffet was majorly downplayed at check-in. I loved the breakfast that was included with the stay. There were a couple of hot options and delicious granolas that seemed to be homemade. I looked forward to the breakfast after coming here the first morning. The property included a grassy area with plenty of chairs for relaxing and waterfront views.

Yelp
These people are too snobby for their own good. We were trying to celebrate our engagement and were told unless we were a guest we could not sit in the restaurant or even under an umbrella while it was raining. They were empty so you'd think any business would be welcome, especially in these times. My family of 10 just bought a house on the island and will make sure we discourage anyone we meet from support this business cause they aren't good people.
google avatar

Darin B.

Yelp
Considering the price and value, this is a nice place but short on delivering the experience and amenities- for the price, it's meh. The room is spacious and nice with a mini fridge - but no microwave? There are two decent chairs across the room but only one table? There is a pillow menu but all the pillows on the bed were the same? There is a parking lot but good luck parking anything larger than a skateboard? The restaurant closes at 9 but the loud! diners stay as long as they want? There is a fancy coffee chemex but the we-get-our-coffee-from-local-toaster was tasteless? All that aside, here is what is nice about this place. The view from room 26 overlooking the harbor was fantastic. The people are very welcoming and nice - hospitality! I'm not sure if or when I will be back - and only if there is a significant price drop.

Larry M.

Yelp
Fabulous and all about the view! My wife and I spend the weekend at Friday Harbor house and had a wonderful time. Our room overlooked the harbor so we enjoyed watching the boats, ferries and planes come in and out. Not to mention the sunrise over the water. We also saw a seal playing around the boats. The staff was wonderful and friendly. We had one dinner meal that was also wonderful. From the hotel you can easily walk around the town to other restaurants, shops, wine tasting and coffee. We will definitely stay there again on our next visit. Highly recommended.

T C.

Yelp
Exceptional food! Great view, classy atmosphere and friendly staff. Those are the good pets, and they are good! However, attention to detail lacks a bit: wouldn't seat us or other walk ins near the best view, because we didn't have a reservation, but reserved tables sat empty for the duration of our meal. One table, disappointed in their inability to sit near the rail, later walked out due to neglectful service, another left after drinks because they too were forgotten. We tipped very well and didn't receive a thank you. A few tables got a lot of attention while the others were waiting a lot. I suspect staff are training because everyone is short handed, but a bit better table management and attention could have gone a long way to have service match food quality. This would pull together the level of sophistication this restaurant advertises!

Chris C.

Yelp
Updating my review from earlier (when the kitchen was short staffed and we were unable to order dinner). Now enjoying brunch (eggs benedict, french toast, breakfast burger)... all very good. Service was excellent.

Yelp
My boyfriend brought me here for my birthday and it was by far the most luxurious hotel I've ever stayed at. As we checked in, we were offered complementary blood orange margaritas that they made right there. As we sipped those delicious drinks, we were walked up to our room and shown how to operate the fireplace, 2 person jacuzzi, and pour-over coffee pot that was in the room before being left to soak it all in. The room had an incredible view of the bay, and included even more amenities such as the plushest robes, a list of pillows to select from to customize our sleep, a Keurig in addition to the pour over, and a gorgeous shower. In the evening, our custom pillows, coffee grounds and hemp milk (for the coffee as I am dairy free) were brought to our room in addition to a few other items we requested- all of it complementary. It was clean, well lit, and comfortable. We were very impressed with the customer service here. The employees were so accommodating and eager to please while being so kind. They really seemed to love their jobs. This hotel is a great place to go if you're thinking of having a romantic or very comfortable, relaxing stay at Friday Harbor!

Yelp
I'm not sure how to rate this. Booked in for a wedding on San Juan, then added a night. Since I added a night, I was informed that I'd have to switch rooms, which is fine, but there was some consternation over whether I'd have to be totally out of both rooms for 4-5hrs - meaning getting ready for the wedding would be impossible. In the end, they made it right and did a great job for the transition, meaning I was able to switch rooms immediately and get ready for the wedding - but it did cause some anxiety before they hammered out the details. Rooms were updated, but a little odd for the overall price of $409+ per night (freestanding A/C with a hose running through the wall and very strange layouts). Parking is very limited. Restaurant - fantastic! Food and staff were A+++. Breakfast bibimbap was fantastic as was the breakfast burger. Raw bar - I've gotten better frozen margaritas at the Jersey boardwalk. Location - awesome. Striking/walking distance to everything in town. Overall I give this place about 4 to 4.5 stars. Don't expect a Four Seasons quality room at these Four Seasons prices - but the location, staff (in the end) working hard to make the stay seamless, and the restaurant make this place a very good choice.

Yelp
This place was great. The service was top notch. We had a small hiccup with the room we had reserved but it was addressed without even blinking and we were put into another immediately. The "continental breakfast " that I expected was nothing close to what they served. Scrambled eggs with mushrooms and cheese, bacon, sausage, the usual muffins, toast fruit...we didn't even go out to a restaurant for breakfast. It was great. The jetted tub was perfect, the view from the balcony was amazing. Thanks for the wonderful weekend getaway!
google avatar

Yelp
Extremely pleasant experience. Nice food, service. Friendly, caring stuff. Like the view from the room. Will come back for this hotel. Suggestion: can add jacuzzi and infinity pool on the platform

Yelp
Very comfortable bed. A little pricey for a basic room though the fireplace and balcony were nice. Staff were very friendly and accommodating The continental breakfast was plentiful. Nicely decorated breakfast room

Yelp
Fabulous location, views, dining and beverages in the heart of Friday Harbor!! Excited for a long weekend getaway.

Yelp
We spent a lovely weekend here, our room was large, clean, with a nice view overlooking the harbor. The bed was really comfortable and they offer a variety of pillows. The in room pour over coffee was fabulous. The included hot breakfast is a great deal, with a choice of scrambled or eggs benedict. The inn keepers Meghan and Michael were lovely and could not have been more accommodating. I

Yelp
The food and cocktails are delicious- creative with a familiar comfort, enhanced by flavors only a true talent could imagine possible. The service is top of the line and keeping us safe while still getting to dine out a first priority. And of course the view of the Harbor from their dining room and patio is the cherry on top of a perfect night out in Friday Harbor. Thank you to the team that makes this all happen at Friday Harbor House Restaurant!

Michelle M.

Yelp
Lovely hotel and wonderful location. Can walk to hotel from the ferry terminal. Views from our room and the patio are terrific. The staff, specifically Morgan and Becca were very helpful and recommended plenty of local restaurants and attractions. The room feels a little bare and sterile --although may be due to covid. Hotel taking precautions very seriously and I appreciate this!

Yelp
Comfortable beds, friendly staff and a peaceful atmosphere

Yelp
Outstanding service, excellent food and beautiful view of the harbor. The bar makes some of the tastiest cocktails And there is an outdoor fire pit to relax by while you enjoy them. Will make this a stop every time I visit!

Yelp
The prices may seem very high especially during covid as for a takeout meal. However they do have outdoor dining with an amazing view and an outdoor patio/fireplace & heaters which looked cool! We did takeout since we weren't sure how cold it'd be outside and didn't want to deal with the wind. We ordered online since it said it could take 20-30 mins until food was ready. The food was pricy but everything was well worth it! The salmon was flavored very well and the fried green tomatoes were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The burger we got was an explosion of flavor. We did get a medium burger but it came out to be more of a medium rare but still bomb. The kale salad had a really good grapefruit tart/sweetness to it which was surprisingly the best kale salad I've had. It had fun textures like slivered almonds mixed in it as well (I never have high expectations for kale salads). The Brussels sprouts were delicious. Simple and great flavor to it. It came with two pieces of pork grinds on top which we thought were interesting and maybe unnecessary. The churros were sweet and yummy. Something about the dough was really good and maybe it tasted better because it came with a caramel sauce to dip it in. The duck fat fries that came with the burger were to die for and was the highlight of our dinner as it came with an aioli sauce for dipping. We were taken by surprise how good everything tasted! Would highly recommend grabbing a bite from this place.

Yelp
My sister and I enjoyed a delicious dinner here, overlooking Friday Harbor. The restaurant is top notch. They make their own infused liquors which are then incorporated into unusual drinks. Outside dining is warmed by numerous fire pits, taking the chill off as night falls. Our dinners were delicious. Service was on point, there to refill water glasses when needed but not intrusive. The manager came out and talked with pretty much everyone dining there, making sure we were happy with our meals. The only downside is that the restaurant is not easy to find. We walked there from our hotel and finally found the front door off what looked like an alley. Some signage would be a welcome addition. A question below the review form asked if the bathrooms were gender neutral. The restrooms have the usual male and female icons on them, but I didn't get any sense that someone was checking to make sure our plumbing matched the door icons. The entire place seemed welcoming and friendly.

Yelp
This is an expensive property to stay at, (but that's because we have an RV and haven't stayed in hotels in a while), but it is well worth it. I decided to treat my wife to a weekend away to Friday Harbor, a place she has been wanting to visit since we moved to the Seattle area in 1995. F.H.H. is a great place for a weekend, anniversary or just to use as a 'Get Out of Jail Free' card with your significant other. I had the advantage of finding this on an AmazonLocals deal, which included a three course dinner at 'the Bluffs', the properties restaurant. Our room (number 25) was equipped with a 42" TV (only a few HD channels on cable, and they were in the 100+ range) and a DVD player. There wasn't a BluRay player, so bring and HDMI cable if you want to play your laptop to the TV. (Ironically, I did find an HDMI cable in a drawer 20 minutes before we left.) There is an iPod/Aux input clock radio, gas fireplace, jetted tub, dorm fridge and mini-coffee maker. They have free WiFi with several ping tests averaging 768k down and 1.2M up on their cable modems. Pretty sad considering the Century Link central office is across the parking lot and they could get a 25Mbps+ DSL signal. Clearwire 4G is available for Sprint/Clear customers in town with 4M/1.5M average on Speedtest.net. NOTE: Sprint had good service around the island, only roaming to VZW around the interior parts. My wifes T-Mo phone roamed to Canadian towers near British Camp, but I never noticed it on my AT&T work cell. But, as we all know, you don't come here to play with electronics, your come here to..... do other things. The Bluffs Restaurant sits on the ground floor of the harborside building, and the food is 'Northwest, but with a Continental twist' as my wife put it. I agreed with her opinion that it could have been simpler, but remained just as elegant. From the servers comments, they change the menu every season, and the bar makes use of local distillers in some of their signature libations. The morning breakfast buffet is good, and I can't say enough about the salmon smear for the bagels, but these are not 'New York Deli Style' bagels. They are home made, with a course and crunchy outer crust that I loved, but my New Jersey native wife found sacrilegious. Several of the chocolate chip scones will make their way to our room next time we come - they are AMAZING! We found a bottle of champagne and three hand made truffles when we arrived in our room. Not sure if this is standard procedure, but they were a thoughtful touch and melt-in-your-mouth good. We stayed on the 2nd floor, and heard the folks above us stomping around, but not much else. The front desk staff is very friendly and really down to earth - I can't say enough about how helpful they are. The property is within walking distance to almost everything in Friday Harbor. The Whale Museum is next door, and most restaurants, the grocery store and pharmacy are within a five minute walk. There isn't anything bad to say about a weekend stay at Friday Harbor House, but I do have a few suggestions: 1) Microwave ovens - You have a fridge, why not something to nuke up your leftovers from the restaurant with? 2) Bath Sheets - It's great that you provide two robes in the room, but the towels barely wrap around my 6'3" 290lb frame. A luxury hotel can get some huge bath sheets and if you're afraid people will 'take them home', offer them for sale for $20- each. 3) Handrails - The weekend my wife and I were there, we were the youngest people we saw on site. It was our 24th Wedding Anniversary... If you're going to have those great whirlpool tubs, why not have some handrails drilled into the studs to make it easier to get in and out. 4) Water - The hot water is really hot and the cold water is reallly cold. Our shower had a very, very narrow handle range of comfortable water temps. My wife commented that, 'the water seems a bit hard, so if you have sensitive skin you may want extra body lotion'. 5) Safety Deposit Boxes - There are none. Also, bring some matches if your wife wants to light candles... So, in closing, go and enjoy a long weekend with your honey at Friday Harbor House. You'll both love the amazing views, great food and chance to fan those romantic fires....

Yelp
It was a girls weekend in Friday Harbor and we spent 2 nights at this hotel. Everything about our experience from start to finish was fantastic. Front desk staff was so friendly and inviting, they always smiled and had plenty of tips on things to do, places to eat and visit. Our suites had open jetted tubs, organic bathroom products, gas fire places, flat panel TV with DVD player, you could checkout movies at the front desk at no additional cost. There was even an iPod dock. The view overlooking the harbor was so picturesque, especially early morning. Hotel offers complimentary continental breakfast...and this is not your run of the mill fare. Everything was made fresh in the kitchen from the pastries, to jams, to egg fritatta, to waffles...absolutely delicious. The gentleman who prepared breakfast, was so welcoming and took great pride in making us feel at home. The downstairs restaurant has a great view and we sampled a couples of things on the menu...clam chowder was delish with a spicy kick and crispy, perfectly cooked shoe string fries. Rooms and everything at the hotel were immaculately clean and the beds were very comfortable. This place makes for a perfect getaway from the city.
