Had a delicious brunch here today. Weather was beautiful so we waited for a table outside, only took about 10-15 minutes. Service was attentive and food was served swiftly. The food was great, using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. I thoroughly recommend the scrambled eggs 🤌🏼 Love that this place is dog friendly as well. Would recommend and will definitely be returning.

Google
So, our last morning in London and we needed breakfast!! I did a search for the area in Shoreditch. This cafe, Friends of ours showed good reviews and it didn't disappoint. Staff were very friendly and Happy! Food was great! The foo-cachia with bacon was amazing!! Definitely recommend if your in the Shoreditch area.

Google
I’ve been coming here for years, great coffee and staff but today I ordered the Celestial Greens Salad which was shockingly poor. I went back to the waitress to say they’d forgotten to add the quinoa, she pointed out a few grains that I hadn’t spotted. Equally difficult to find the sea grapes and other ingredients. A rip off for £13.50, it’s a very basic green salad. I did ask for no cashew cream as I’m allergic to nuts. When I commented to the waitress that the salad was incredibly lacking, she said the main ingredient was the cream - I wish she’d told me that when ordering! However, it still wouldn’t have been a substantial main dish. I’d suggest you don’t waste your money on this dish. …..Disappointed and off to the supermarket for some food!

Google
Really good brunch in Shoreditch! We will find the classics of brunch, but they are really well crafted. Flavours and combinations are differents from other establishments, that's why it gets crowded quickly. But if you are lucky and sun is out, you can enjoy the terrace. I will pass by again if I come back to London!

Google
Great coffee and a great place to catch up with friends over coffee or food. No booking required on a Saturday morning due to plenty of outdoor space, which was lovely. Great service from kind staff. I just didn’t love the food menu and found it a bit too creative, which in the process lost out on good reliable and satisfying brunch dishes.

Google
Been coming here for years. Food is consistently delicious and they change the menu every season. Worth traveling for on a sunny day. Staff are friendly but the service could be better because they’re usually understaffed. It normally takes a while and a bit of reminding to get your order taken.

Google
Great vibes, especially on a sunny day, but £16.50 for one piece of French toast and some strawberries is a bit ridiculous!! While it tasted great, the value for money was not there.

Jane Spadigam

Google
The food was nice - the highlight was the hash brown and coffee ! The ambiance was cute and the staff were very friendly ! Will be back on a summers day when we can sit outside
google avatar

Yelp
Fantastic late breakfast- the service was fantastic, the food was and delicious. Being gluten free - it was a real treat to eat something so good. The bacon was my favorite part of the meal. They got us a nice comfie 2 person table .
google avatar

Yelp
Ticks the boxes: cute ambiance, good simple food, yummy coffee. Also a great spot to sit and read, or catch up with a friend! They have extra tables outside that are gorg on a sunny day.
google avatar

Yasmeen R.

Yelp
The food was 10/10 I got the eggplant with poached eggs the hash browns were unique and so tasty lots of flavor in all the food and you have to get the French toast!
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing lovely people and vibe. Great coffee. My toast was cold, which was not ideal on a cold morning, but it's just such a nice friendly place!
google avatar

Yelp
Extraordinary coffee. The crema cannot be beat. If you haven't tried their breakfast, try it both do come early as they get really busy
google avatar

Maria L.

Yelp
We dropped in for a late breakfast, sat outside and felt just at home. You could tell it really was like everyone was a friend and that is always welcome Especially when you're traveling.

Yelp
Great spot for breakfast in London. Very healthy options and fair prices. I loved the Cacklebean eggs on toast.

Andrew H.

Yelp
We've been back a few times for breakfast and just coffee and all was very good. Our AirB&B was just around the corner so this worked perfectly.

Jen I.

Yelp
Food was yummy & service was great! Fun place to people watch, too!! Would recommend to anyone in the neighborhood!

Yelp
This is the most adorable cafe with the yummiest food! We came here twice while visiting Shoreditch and could not have had better experiences - the BLT was phenomenal (probably the best I've ever had!) and the staff are so kind. We loved it here and can't wait to come back in the future!
google avatar

Clèm B.

Yelp
Nice and delicious brunch there ! The place is small but looks really comfy and I like it ! The staff was friendly nice and very quick to reply to any request. It's not possible to book in advance but for two, you will wait around 10-20 min. The menu is not big but everything is made there. I ordered the week special : chili scrambled with sriracha, Asian style salad on a brioche toast with an oat milk flat white. It was delicious and very fulfill ! I totally recommend this place for a nice and warm brunch with friends !

Yelp
Friends of Ours is a tiny but cute little cafe serving the breakfast of millennials (not complaining!). With the cute benches and limited seating, this is what I always imagined London cafes to look like. After doing some extensive research for the best breakfast in my area (shoreditch), I made my way out here to try their famed avocado toast and matcha. Everything was solid and it would be on daily rotation if I lived in the area, but I didn't think it was anything special. I would recommend it if you're looking to eat brunch al fresco.
google avatar

Sunnah W.

Yelp
One of our new favorite coffee spots in the neighborhood. Their pastries are unreal and the service is great! Definitely recommend popping by for a coffee and a bite to eat!
google avatar

Kelly S.

Yelp
So difficult to find good scrambled eggs in this city. And with breakfast potatoes to boot! Oh and bacon or haloumi options as well. Good coffee. Quiet neighbourhood. What a gem. Service was just what you'd expect. Food came quickly and warm. I have had such a challenge finding decently prepared juevos, they either come over cooked fried or fried or fried or poached. Good well seasoned eggs. If I'm not clear enough in my review, go check it out. Just above the noise of Shoreditch / Old Street. Outdoor seating. Beirgarten table seating outdoors. Good espresso.

Yelp
Such a cute place in the Hoxton residential area so you're far away from the mega touristy breakfast joints. They have brunch ALL day and the staff is just amazing. You can tell he locals love this place because as I sat here there were regulars coming in and out socializing with the two folks working. They have a nice looking menu with great brunch items. I came for breakfast after Instagram stalking them all week and just drooling over their amazing pictures. Even their drinks look beautiful! They have a menu once you walk inside of their iced teas and I was hooked instantly by the Hojicha and Assam iced tea with fresh strawberries, mint, AND a nice grapefruit slice. So incredibly refreshing! And the presentation was legit! I ordered their Ham Hock Benny with mustard hollandaise and potatoes. I liked how the poached eggs were presented on top of the potatoes and there wasn't any bread below. Personally prefer this style! The mustard hollandaise was nice because it was not overpowering with the mustard taste. I can't wait to come back and try more of their menu! Keep up with their IG page to get inspired to come in since they have some amazing menu changes for each season. Also, if the weather is nice sit out on the patio!

Yelp
Just off an overnight flight and nothing could have been better than a nice breakfast here. Hot herbal tea, perfectly poached eggs on Sourdough and delicious bacon. Yum! Ready for a blustery day in London town. My son had the mushroom toast and was super happy with it as well. Now for a sticky bun....:)

Yelp
I do like this place. Had brunch here twice and never had to queue. I think the trick is to go as soon as they open or well in the afternoon. This last time I had. The matcha French toast. Decadent and different from other similar dishes around time. I have to say, for a meal that is full of cliches and 'overused' food, this place manages to keep things fresh and interesting. Highly recommend if you are in the area.
google avatar

Yelp
amazing food!! seriously so good for my first meal in london. the staff was so kind too. I loved just hanging out and people watching for awhile after my meal too. John one of the waiters was so great and gave me recommendations for other restaurants in the area for dinner. Will definitely be back for another breakfast while I'm here.

Yelp
Absolutely incredible brunch here. Might well be in my top 3 ever in London. Not withstanding getting a great spot by the window overseeing when the masses come to find a seat (Come early) but Friendly staff and their star dish of sweet corn and beetroot fritters is sensational. Roasted Golden Beetroot, kasundi, feta, baby mint, smashed avocado, coriander and to top it off a poached egg perched on top it's an amazing dish. I'm a full on carnivore who barely orders a pure veg dish and yes I ordered bacon on the side but you don't need it. The fritter is meaty in texture it's a totally star dish. The ocean trout and scrambled eggs is ace too. And I must shout out the coffee which is superb along with its chai latte. Pretty much now will become my go to place if in in area although I want to test out a few more in area which are highly rated. Well done guys and girls I was so impressed by everything about my experience.

Yelp
Friends of Ours... you my favourite. Not only do they have a wonderfully unique list of delicious sounding items on their menu, everything you order turns out positively beautiful! How do you make your food so pretty? And say what? It tastes good too!!! NO WAY! We came here for my friend's birthday lunch and I can say it did not disappoint. All 4 of us ordered something different and everyone cleaned their plates, having something in particular they loved about each one: Smoked Corn and Beetroot Fritters- She really loved the tomato-y sauce that accompanied the whole dish. Trout and Croquettes- She really loved the croquettes, made of sweet potato and deliciousness. Matcha Latte- best matcha latte birthday girl's ever had. I tried it too, it's particularly creamy and yum. Smashed Avocado- I loved that they incorporated beetroot puree with feta puree- it was an amazing combo of flavours. Brunch Muffin- look at that thing! It's ginormous! And then it was all gone, because it was so good. Friends of Ours was an absolute treat and a place I will definitely take my husband, because I need to share this wonderfulness with him.

Yelp
Wow! Just wow. Coffee was spot on. I tried the filter which was fabulous and then it was the main event - the flat white. My god, when the coffee beans are listed as culture of doom, you'll know it'll be something to shout about and it was!! Yaaaaassss coffee perfection! Food wise, after a mini stalk of their insta, we ordered the beetroot and sweetcorn fritters.. They arrived and just looked breathtaking - a tower of avocado, with purpley fritters and a poached egg just waiting to be cut on the top.. Mmmm what ensued was a yolk drizzled mound of deliciousness!! Oh my word... Simply the dish to travel London for! Our other choice - the trout and scrambled eggs was delicious and was a definite a nice addition to our food.: but for me it's all about the fritters!! A huge shout out for the service! They were super friendly and took time to make recommendations and even advised about which table was best for light to take pictures!! These people know!! 5 star perfection! This is the breakfast that will leave you talking for months after.

Yelp
From the outside, it looks like your classic hypster brunch spot. But it is a lot better than most. The service is warm and caring. The coffee is great. The food menu is creative and very well executed. I had the Sweetcorn & Beetroot Friters which was fantastic - it contains the usual suspects of a brunch (smashed avocado etc.) with a unique (indian-like) twist
google avatar

Yelp
Looks like a standard cafe as you pass by but in fact the antipodean menu makes this much more than your usual upmarket greasy spoon. We got the mackerel kedgeree w asparagus Cavolo Nero, chili, poached egg and radish over a poppadom - the dish I never knew I always needed. Flavourful but not overwhelming, beautiful to look at and fresh yet lots of depth. Plus nutritious and full of top health ingredients. Well done! My husband had the Japanese benedict W fermented cabbage and sirloin steak, samphire and a poached egg. Also gorgeously presented and tasty without any of the heaviness you typically associate w a brunch benedict. Hash browns on the side for good measure - this is brunch after all! Lovely service, we left w big smiles and satisfied tummies.

Yelp
Friends of Ours does a great brunch. The experience starts with welcoming service and cozy table sharing. During the British summer, sitting outside is highly recommended. The menu for food and drinks are both extensive, but not overwhelming, and feature fresh twists on brunch classics. I went with mushrooms on toast with a side of smashed avo. The ensemble was great and plated beautifully (definitely Insta-worthy), but a bit lacking in several respects: you receive a single poached egg you can/must share between the two toasts (and likely contributed to my still being hungry upon leaving), the mushrooms were ample, but under-seasoned, the pesto is potentially the highlight of the meal and was perfectly done. Just a few minutes from Old Street station but off of busy streets, the atmosphere and solid brunch are sure to bring me back.
google avatar

Caroline L.

Yelp
I can't believe I forgot to do a review of that place. From the outside it looks like your normal cafe, but the food here is much more than regular. I tried the corn fritters, with poached egg, feta and avocado and it was delicious: good combination of flavours. The staff was very friendly with me and my friends - they accomodate some space for her 4 months old daughter.

Yelp
Friends of ours = breakfast heaven especially for those who are partial to shellfish, avocado and Asian influences. It is also bloody brilliant for sweet toothed breakfast enthusiasts or coffee fiends. And egg crazy, sourdough fans. Ok, it suits anyone who eats or drinks. Menu changes seasonally. At the moment crab on toast with AV and a poach egg addition is rocking my world. They also have ramen after 11:30 which was unlike any ramen I have ever had. Yum. Lobster with wasabi hollandaise and eggs, baked mexi eggs. Crumpets with all of the beautiful trimmings. Everything is good! Their coffee is from NZ coffee roasters, now London locals, ozone coffee and the place it's self is riddled by Aussie staff who are genetically used to getting up pre 8am on purpose so they are always friendly and fun to have a chat to. Not a huge amount of seating so if you have to wait DO IT. Totally worth it. Get yourself a takeaway coffee and your loyalty card and hover over someone with empty plates. Yum

Yelp
That's right a full 5 stars and I don't even drink coffee! I chose this spot for my meeting today based on its reviews and you know what gang? You didn't get it wrong! What a lovely little place. I first want to mention the owner - what a guy. Polite and accommodating from the get go. I walked in and told him I was meeting 3 others, he offered me the large table at the back and then brought me over some water. Half way through our meeting a large group came in so we politely moved seats to a smaller table and the owner helped us with our drinks and thanked us numerous times. Then once I was back on my own, I chose my breakfast - scrambled eggs on toast with a side of bacon. It came literally within 5 minutes and was cooked to perfection. The eggs were fluffy and creamy, bacon crispy but not over done and toast wonderfully crunchy. Ever mouthful was spot on! About 5 mins after I'd finished another group came in and the owner asked if I'd move to another table. I obliged as at the end of the day their a business and I didn't mind budging. The owner came over and thanked me again and offered me a free drink. I refused as I was ready to head but I thought that was very kind of him. I would definite head back here to give some of the other food options a try - they have a great looking baked eggs dish which is just calling my name! Very pleasant morning in a very pleasant coffee shop!

Yelp
....and OPEN! I've been passing by Friends of Ours every day for what seems like eternity, anticipating their opening. YES! A lovely new cafe on Pitfield Street that inhabits a formerly (long) shuttered fried chicken shop. So much upgrade going on here, my friends. Friends of Ours. Friends of MINE! We stopped in for a few coffees Saturday morning and it was pleasantly plump with chattering brunchers. I like what I see. My flat white was delicious -- made superbly, and using Ozone Coffee. Again, I'm going all fangirl over here. I'm justsoexcitedforthisplace. It's a small shop -- comfortable seating for about 20 with takeaway coffee and pastries. The cafe serves quite nice dishes as well (I had serious egg envy of the gentlemen eating in the window) -- and I am confident I'll be back many many days to indulge in their menu. For now a flat white, but I've got a 5-star bet on this place. Passionate people doing great things, and in my street? Welcome!
google avatar

Sophie L.

Yelp
Love this place - on a quiet street off Old Street. The spring menu is incredible, every dish sounds delicious and with a fun twist. Not your average eggs on toast type of place. Good quality, fresh ingredients! The sweetcorn, beetroot fritters were delicious. With bits of golden beetroot, feta, mint & coriander, there was texture and lovely flavour. My friend had the Huevos Motolenos - this looked incredible and is understandably a popular dish. With interesting additions of plantains and arepa bread. Side of smashed avocado which really hit the spot. I will be adding this to my list of brunch places.
google avatar

Sheera G.

Yelp
Oh, Friends of Ours is fantastic. I spent a few hours having a working breakfast here last week and the reviews are spot on: great coffee, yummy food, AMAZING friendly service and attention to detail, charm, powerful (and free) wifi... what more can you want? I had my go-to: smashed avocado, which was delicious, plus a pair of skinny flat whites, also excellent. My colleague stayed for lunch and a peak at her salad gave me some serious food envy. We sat at the high table at the back and basically set up shop. Seriously, we had everything required of the urban office: wifi strong enough for a skype call, outlets to recharge... there was even a spare Mac charger was lying around. Though we made copious use of the place, there was no evil eye. Thank you, Friends of Ours! I'll be back soon.
google avatar

Nessa N.

Yelp
This is a very hip cafe. It has outdoor bench seating and an eclectic menu. You can find fried chicken sandwich next to vegan poke bowl and tofu tacos. I was hoping for more egg dishes but all the plates that I saw looked pretty good. It is on the pricier side though. I got a juice because I was sort of picturing some freshly pressed juice. But it actually came in a small bottle for £4. It tasted pretty good though.
google avatar

Caroline P.

Yelp
Such a gem!! My friend and I stumbled up on this place for brunch. I wouldn't recommend coming here in a large group because it is quite small, but luckily we were only 2 and were able to be seated right away. We split two mains and had a coffee and a juice each. It was a perfect brunch
google avatar

Billy S.

Yelp
I like this place a lot. Great coffee, food and vibe. Can't ask for much more. Walked by here on Saturday and I had to come back and try it the next day. I really like places that have the Aussie aesthetic, which is all about bright, simple, airy spaces. It's very relaxing in here and the owners and staff are so nice. They came around to talk to us and were so friendly. I ordered the scrambled eggs with chili and bacon on sourdough. My friend ordered the breakfast skillet. Both were excellent, as was my soy latte. They use Ozone Coffee. This is great because I hate Ozone's food, so now I can just come here and it's closer to my place. The orange juice as fresh, definitely try that and make room for the carrot cake! Oh my we were eyeing that the entire time and decided to go for it when the couple next to us recommended it. It was worth it. However, that and the second lattes tipped me over the edge and I had to walk off the brunch and then come home and lie down. Major food coma! I'll be back. Very often. Like this place a lot.

Yelp
Okay, after seeing Friends of Ours with their shining 5* rating every time I logged into Yelp, I had to go. We're they that good - or was it another case of Over-Hype-itis. Yes. Yes, they are that good!! Sooo very very good. We got there just after 1pm and it was pretty busy inside. There were about 6 people in the queue and all the members of staff were busy too. However we were acknowledged quickly and a table was available within 10mins! I ordered the smoked trout and my friend ordered the sweetcorn & beetroot fritter. The trout was very fresh and the cuts were chunky. Absolutely delicious with fluffy scrambled eggs. The real winner was the fritters. Oh my what an explosion of flavour! Everything worked out well and the spices were on point. I'm still drooling thinking about this dish. Maybe the best brunch dish I've ever had. That good! Coffee was excellent. Smooth and rich. Impeccable & friendly service. Can't wait to visit again!

Yelp
Cosy cafe within walking distance of Old Street station. Coffee was good, not too bitter. The highlight of brunch was the home made crumpets. They were soft, doughy & very buttery, tasted like they were straight out of the oven. Peanut butter & berry preseve was on point, a good mix of sweet & salty- definitely wanted more peanut butter. Staff were very friendly. My visit was midweek, I imagine this place gets busy over the weekend so come early.
google avatar

Dominique F.

Yelp
Just THE best. Delicious food, friendly staff, free internet but okay-ish flat white. Came here in the middle of the week so was able to get a table and hang out for a bit. But I can only imagine how crowded it gets on weekends because there isn't really too much seating area.
google avatar

Sophie V.

Yelp
This was such a lovely day to go on my day off. The French toast was out of this world! The ambiance was cute and the cafe itself was small and cozy, with nice outside seating if you prefer the sunshine (or wanted to bring a four legged friend). The staff were friendly and accommodating and I look forward to going back.
google avatar

Minno L.

Yelp
Gluten free toast upped my smashed guac and poached eggs to spectacular. Tanzanian filter coffee topped it off for a great start to the day. Good tunes. Friendly staff. Buzzing wee place. I'm happy we stopped by.
google avatar

Shradha K.

Yelp
Went in for brunch today and really enjoyed it. The fritters were amazing and so was the French toast. I liked the flat white more than the cappuccino. Service was great and everyone was friendly. Will definitely recommend it
google avatar

Abby M.

Yelp
This place is always poppin And we live in the area so I wanted to finally try it out. I had the Mediterranean salad option for brunch and an americano. The salad was pretty good just your standard hummus quinoa and carrots. Not really that many vegan options but a great cute place!
google avatar

Catherine C.

Yelp
As typical Australian brunch lovers, the 4.5 stars given to Friends of Ours on Yelp meant it was a must go. The cafe was quite crowded when we went, giving a slight cramped and uncomfortable feel. We decided on the beetroot and corn fritters following recommendations that we do so. Presentation was lovely and fresh, and the balance of flavours was done nicely. However the fritters themselves were quite doughy and hard to swallow. There was a wide selection of pastries from the counter ranging from Anzac biscuits to carrot cake. Overall, the meal was satisfying and tasty. Does it deserve such a high rating? Based upon my visit alone, probably not.

Marissa S.

Yelp
The worst brunch experience I've had. We waited well over an hour and the food never came. I'll give one star for the coffee because that's all they served us and it was good. We had wanted to try the place for a while due to the high rating. However, our Saturday morning brunch left us disappointed and hungry. We ordered, our coffees arrived and they were delicious. We waited an hour for the food, asked several times about the status and we were told that they "would check on the food". But sadly, after waiting another 15mins our meals never showed up, and so we left and went to a delicious pastry shop.
google avatar

Ashley K.

Yelp
Coffee was so good!! I got the pork belly eggs Benedict and it was amazing. The pork belly had a sweet glaze, and the sweet and salty combo was really good. My friend got the corn and beetroot fritters, very aesthetically pleasing and also delicious. The interior is really cute and homey.
google avatar

Marisa L.

Yelp
The coffee and food here is so good! I really like how they have a whole menu of food. Just the right amount of variety where you feel there are enough options to make a good decision but also not too long so that you don't know what to get. I got the latte and ham with poached eggs with hollandaise sauce mmmmmm the touch of snow pea leaves was so yummy. The atmosphere and interior is very relaxed and the sunlight coming in from the big windows creates the perfect spot for a brunch or resting spot for coffee and a snack.

Yelp
Smashing brunch. 1. The options are very creative, far surpassing the usual boring eggs and toast or avo and toast. (Yea there is avo and toast but it comes with smoked beetroot hummus! And feta!) 2. The waitress addressed all my requests, including having the egg fried instead of poached, adding a small helping of the (phenomenal) beetroot hummus as a side at no extra cost and switching out the green drink for a skinny chai latte. All with a smile. I got this: £9 "SWEETCORN & BEETROOT FRITTERS" roasted golden beetroot, kasundi, feta, baby mint, poached egg, smashed avocado, coriander (vegetarian) (gluten free) It is awesome. I was worried these would be crunchy fried but they are more like pan-fried. There are two (or three?) fritters stacked atop each other like a tower, with avo in between. It's actually more filling than I thought it would be. The chai latte was mediocre but the food more than made up for it. The place gets packed quick and there's no rez system which stinks but we waited only about 5-10 minutes on a queue outside when we arrived about 11:30am this past Saturday. I also got the lamington and a chocolate chip cookie for takeaway. The cookie in particular, despite being crispy more than chewy (a sin to me), was excellent. It was full of choco chips.

Yelp
The French Toast was the best I've ever had. I didn't know what honeycomb was until eating here. It was delish!
google avatar

Sunny K.

Yelp
The reviews here really reflect the solid quality of the food! I wanted the Huevos but the didn't really do a veggie version, so I went for the Harissa dish which I was told tasted similar. My gosh, I could have licked my plate clean, it was so yummy! One of the girls found that her food came cold which upset her, but other than that everyone had a great experience, with especial props for the coffee. It gets busy, so I totally recommend booking ahead!

Yelp
Yum! This place has a cool vibe, reminds me a lot of the Lower East Side in Manhattan. Urban face and style with great coffee and brunch style food. The American connection carries on with the menu, options such as meat hash, crawfish benedict and anything with avocado all staples. For me I went with the Pork belly roll, served on a lovely fresh ciabata roll with yuzu mayo and watercress salad. Tasty well cooked belly slices with the sharp yuzu were a lovely match. Tremendously tasty and served with a well made flat white this wont be my last visit to this little US outpost.
