"Friendship BBQ, which specializes in Chinese-style grilled and skewered meats, or chuan'er, will open in the Dun Huang Plaza at 9889 Bellaire Blvd, Ste D-238, according to the restaurant’s website. The Houston location will be the first in the central US. According to Eater New York, the restaurant is hugely popular among the city’s Chinese expats. Friendship’s menu has its roots in Northeastern Chinese street food, specifically the seasoned skewers of meat, veggies or offal that are grilled on streetside stands and often accompanied with beer. The menu also includes hot pots, seafood dishes, including spicy crawfish, and foil pots, which look like sheet pan meals complete with meat and veggies cooked together." - Brittanie Shey

The food was delicious, staff was very attentive and friendly. We missed happy hour by 10 minutes and were not able to take advantage of that but still enjoyed our time there. There are a wide variety of dining options along with drink options. They also have karaoke for those blessed with a beautiful voice 🎤 I would recommend this place if you wanna hang out casually, munch on some skewers along with other menu items, have a few drinks, and sing some karaoke.

Sorry to say that I don't like Friendship BBQ. I ordered a noodle first. Then, the waiter came to tell me they sold out. He recommended me for a stir fried instant noodles. I think it's an insult. I want to experience food at the restaurant. I could make that at home. I ended up ordering the rice noodle soup without spicy sauce. It came out so bland and did not look appetizing. Yukie.

Google
Nice clean BBQ place, the lighting is a little dim for me but is a pretty cozy restaurant. Now the food...bbq skewers taste bland and lacking flavor, however I also ordered A Choy veggies stir fry and it was very fresh crisp and sweet. The jumbo grilled oysters are also fresh and delicious.

Great place to get Great food. Singing Karaoke! Awesome staff helpful and attentive.

The atmosphere is fun, loud, and festive. The service was outstanding. Our waitress was great at giving recommendations. We tried a lot of skewers and they were ok. The live music house singers were really good. There's karaoke for the star in you.

This was a fun dining experience! A very cool interior greets you apon entry. A karaoke stage and screen is clearly a fun part of this restaurant and we can only imagine it to be very entertaining in the evenings. The menu was a little overwhelming to begin with. A QR code can be used to view a menu online with photos that help to further explain the dishes. Our server was very helpful with all questions and helped us to navigate the menu. We ordered a passionfruit smoothie! It was amazing! Perfect flavor and smooth blended ice. Our food was a pleasant surprise also. We ordered a variety of dishes and everything was packed with flavor. The seafood pot for 2 was an extremely generous serving and well presented. This was definitely our favorite dish. Gloves were definitely appreciated to eat this dish. The parking appears packed when you enter the strip center. Though we had no issues finding parking quickly.

Google
Nice place with cool lighting and good food. My favorites were the oysters and the house special lamb. Prices were kinda high but the food was still good. The beer selection was really limited despite what the menu shows. Also the music was way too loud and I had to scream just to have a conversation. Overall, I’d go back but hopefully a different time when the music isn’t so loud.

The lady was quick to take our order but the wait time took over 30 mins for us to get our Togo order. There are quite a bit of servers but if take out alone took over 30 mins I can’t imagine how much time you’ll know for dine in. Their menu looked really good for the skewer options but the season was just too much for me. I think it’s the cumin spice that was really strong so if you like that spice this is the place you’ll want to check out! The decor in the restaurant is very cool! Looks like they must have some type of live performance because I saw a stage with a mic and a podium with a tip jar on the stage. They have something that looks like a giant bird cage with a table in there. I don’t think this table is used because it kind of looked like a storage area. Next to the cashier there is a hidden private room with a karaoke machine.

Yelp
Friendship BBQ 有情客串 has been on my bookmarks for a long time, since it opened, I think. The location is perfect at the corner unit in Building D of Dun Huang Plaza. I have been thinking about coming to try late night bites. But there was always some loud karaoke going on. I came here one night during weekday to try it because it was a cold front in Houston and I was craving for noodles. The interior looks too busy. I get a visual shock as I walked in. Something of lit up strings hanging from the ceiling. The giant screen TV with Karaoke music in a loop. Maybe I am just too old for this kind of atmosphere. It was very unpleasant. I sat by the window and not close to the "stage". I wanted to try the noodles but it ran out. I was recommended for stir fried instant noodles. Huh? I can make that at home. What an insult! I ended up order the rice noodles, not spicy version. That was nasty. I assume the original flavor is with hot sauce. Can you put something to replace the flavor with something savory? The soup tasted like dish-washing water. Other than that, everything was spicy. The boiled peanuts were spicy. I kept drinking my yogurt drink to wash it down. One dish saved the day. The Taiwanese stinky tofu had a mild stink level. The flavor of sauce on the fried tofu was to the point. Pickles were pretty good too. I heard it's free to sing karaoke. But I am not coming back.

Yelp
A nice cosy dark dining room, fun karaoke setup, nice surrounded sound speakers, it's a fun place to drink. I mean drink drink drink and party, the food is definitely designed for drinking and partying. Love the environment and atmosphere, the buy 1 get one free beer is nice, if your keto this is a good place to get your protein in. Love all the choices of meats on a stick, the skewers are the stars of the show. Plenty of unique types of meat to choose from and I will say, don't be shy, order something funky because the grilled intestines, in my opinion, is the best meat I had. It was crispy, juicy, crunchy, full flavored, and no funk at all. It was more delicate than anything, it reminds me of a paper thin waygu but with tons of earthy, lemon grass, and pepper taste. I had all sorts of meats, chicken, pork, beef and they all came seasoned the same way, lemon grass and pepper. Don't get me wrong I love the flavors but for me, the seasoning was the same on all the meats and it tasted like all the meats were the same. I personally would have preferred less to no seasoning at all, let the kidney, liver, whatever meat flavor come out and shine, the natural flavors. I feel the same seasoning on all the meats sorta masked the flavors and it didn't taste unique. What was unique, were the textures. The house lamb was as tender, juicy, fall off the stick, while some were fiberish, tough, chewy but the meats all look the same so it's fine, maybe I'm being too picky but it would of been awesome to know which one is switch. What if the skewers sticks were dipped in color? For example, the handle held park of the stick had a red color tip, lamb is blue, chicken yellow, etc... it would have been easier to see considering it is dark inside dining room.

Yelp
The vibes of this place are so great. The servers are so friendly (and they definitely urge you to karaoke on the stage). Service itself is also super quick and the food is yummy. We got several different types of skewers (which they cook for you) which were all delicious. We also got the cucumber salad which was super refreshing against all the meat we ate. The rice noodle pot (not pictured) was so delicious and filling and the broth was quite hearty. Overall, a great experience and I would return!

Yelp
There are not many Chinese bbq skewer places in Chinatown, but since it's a franchise we came here with higher expectations. The ambience was chill on a weekday night, service was nice and fast. The skewers were good, the meats are big pieces but can be little dry. We ordered a variety. Highlight would be the giant shrimp, it's the size of my hand, and very juicy and tender meat. Pricing is slightly higher than the other skewer places I have been to in Chinatown, but if I want the convenience of getting desserts after a good meal, I would come back again.

Samantha F.

Yelp
now I may be biased because i love karaoke and we sang for probably 4 hours. But the ambiance is incredible. My friend and I went when it was a slow day, and service was very good and quick. We got lamb and beef skewers for lunch, it came with French fries, and we got truffle rice. It was a lot of food, great quality and very very good. My friend got two beers, unknown the name, and we had water. Our server was sweet and the place itself is cool! Very cheap for lunch and the amount of food we got.

Lauren M.

Yelp
Let me start off with the undeniable fact that I'm a fatty and hungry all the time. With that being said, I gave this place a 2 because the food wasn't good. I'm not an expert at Chinese bbq/skewers in general but I have to side with the other reviewers about the beef skewers being super thin. The only skewers I'd somewhat go back for would be their house special both cumin and japanese style. But they are $5/ea. I did love their boiled seasoned peanuts that they give you when you sit down! And they had a beer special, $5 for two. The place has great ambience. This is a great hangout spot for karaoke and just to chill but I will warn you....be prepared to give a lot of information and download at least 2 apps to be able to add songs to the queue. Overall, service was great, the staff were very attentive and friendly. We got to hear an epic version of "kiss me through the phone" as well which was the highlight of our evening.

Tammy T.

Yelp
Been here several times if you like skewers & of course karaoke. Can host large parties without booking private rooms that are pricy at other places.

Yelp
This place was popping as, I got out of my appointment from having my hair done. This restaurant brought me to smiles!! The food was great and the awesome selection of drinks was amazing!! The Chinese New Year's was on point!! Love this place

Lanelle R.

Yelp
Food ,service, ambiance loved it all . Service was good and tentative ,food was nice and hot , we loved the little friend crabs . been twice , going a third time soon!

Carol C.

Yelp
Really pretty interior and attentive staff! This place is probably more fun late at night with a group of friends. They have a karaoke stage as well. The foods are reasonably priced and have many types of meats. They also have this little warmer on the table which is nice. The meats all have the same seasonings on it which are also provided on the table if you want more. You won't need anymore seasoning. It's just salt, pepper, cumin, & paprika. The dumplings were my favorite and they gave us a lot!

Tabitha H.

Yelp
I was sat right away. The vibe was like a karaoke bar but it was not a bar. I was sat at the furthest corner of the restaurant. I was brought peanuts right away. I ordered the spicy soup. It came out temperature and spicy hot. It had a strange flavor to it, almost lemony but then something that stayed in your mouth after that was not good. When I was finished eating I was the only person in the restaurant other than workers and all six of them were on their cell phones. It took me about 15 minutes to flag someone down so I could get the server to pay the bill. Horrible service!!!!

Jen L.

Yelp
Five stars due to bringing my friendship so close because the spice level was hyena life style. On the rogue was the flavor. Only stop by this restaurant if you like to chay lo dit. We asked for mild but it was still chay lo dit level 10. Ambiance was fun. They have stage karaoke if you like to sing.

Vicky B.

Yelp
Came here spontaneously to get some food since I was hungry and looking for something new. We came at an odd time during the weekend and they were not busy at all. We were greeted by a host and asked if we would like a table or booth then escorted to our booth. Looking around the interior, it looks like they do have karaoke night because there was a stage in the front of the restaurant with a screen and a microphone stand. There was also a table that had a cage around it in the center of the restaurant like for a private group. It was kinda cool looking but also looked cramped. we looked over the menu and decided to order some skewers and I wanted a soup also and decided to go with the hot and sour egg soup. We ordered a variety of skewers and then waited for everything to come out. The skewers came out on a plate and they put it on the box that had foil on top that I'm assuming would keep them warm while we took our time to eat. I looked over at another table nearby us where 2 guys looked like they had been there for a while drinking beer and enjoying their food. It's definitely a good place someone can spend at least 3-4 hours at with the right company, good food and alcohol. We finished all the skewers and took the rest of the soup home for later that night. Service overall was average. There looked like 3 waiters were available but they weren't very observant in looking around so it was hard to get their attention for more water or to order other things. I would probably try to come back again because the skewers were flavorful. They have a schezwan chili kick to it which was enjoyable- not like spicy but a light burn on the tongue. and it would probably be more enjoyable if there were other individuals with me than just my boyfriend and I.

Claire C.

Yelp
This place doesn't look like too much from the outside, but inside is definitely a vibe! Lots of tables to sit at, a bar, and a karaoke stage which is super cool. We went in the middle of the day so there wasn't too much going on, but I would definitely try going again some night for karaoke and drinks. We ordered a few different things to eat: the cucumber salad, pork belly kabobs, Japanese style beef kabobs, and the tofu foil pot. All the food was pretty good - definitely recommend the beef kabobs and the cucumber salad. Only complaint was that I with the beef kabobs came with 3 instead of 1 like the pork belly ones!

Brenda T.

Yelp
My favorite was the cucumber salad. It was crunchy, refreshing, and loved the flavor. The meat skewers were average. The food comes to your table already cooked and the warmer doesn't do much. It's loud and dark atmosphere and has TVs playing music videos.

Anthea R.

Yelp
Okay, so when we had ordered takeout from them the portions were really small for the exorbitant price point. It only amounted to feeling like a snack instead of a meal. However, when we gave it a second try in person inside the restaurant, the portions were a good amount and between three people, it was $35 (tax and gratuity included) per person. We ordered quite a bit of skewers (40 skewers or so). The wagyu, pork belly, lamb with fat, Cajun chicken, lamb kidney, and Mongolian beef were really yummy. But they tasted a little sweet so had to help ourselves with the cumin, chilli, and salt condiments at the table. Would prefer stronger cumin spice mix flavours. The special xinjiang lamb was good, but the table's favourite was the lamb with fat. They brought out each orders of meat at a time so that they weren't getting cold while we ate even though they have a candle lit bbq heating equipment. Overall, dine in is a better option with more people than ordering takeout or delivery.

Jordan N.

Yelp
Food: Food was decent, not too bad. We got a variety of meat skewers such as the house special beef, wagyu, pork belly, etc. The charcoal grilled vegetables were surprisingly good and i do not eat veggies that often. Service: Our server was nice and friendly. She really helped our table and answered all our questions. Atmosphere: This place is definitely vibes. They have these beautiful lights strings hanging off the ceiling. The interior design and theme of the establishment is amazing. I love the karaoke stand in the front where anyone can go up and sing. Music isn't too loud, which is nice. Lastly, this place is open late, which is nice.

Nhi V.

Yelp
Food was decent but the atmosphere was great. We ordered a variety of skewers like chicken, beef, all sorts of intestines, grilled dishes, and the hot pot styled skewers. All of the skewers were delicious, although some were a bit too dry for me. Oysters were spicy and the grilled eggplants were a bit too salty. The hot pot skewers tasted mainly of the tongue numbing spice and nothing else. Servers, however, were very sweet and definitely knows how to have fun. All in all, a fun place to drink, karaoke, and snack but food was just alright.

Gerald H.

Yelp
This was over the top, atmosphere pulls you in, and very knowledgeable staff. We were sat quickly and was able to order drinks, the teas were great, however the plum juice was something special, it had a smoky aftertaste that went perfectly with the meal. The scallion salad delicious(be sure to stir as you don't want to miss the bean sprouts). The pork belly had a cumin based spice that was incredible. The beef had the same seasoning and it was perfect along with the Wagyu Beef. Now to the star of the show, drumroll, the large shrimp, so delicious, tender and juicy, flavorful just amazing. This has made our top 10 lists definitely.

Stephanie T.

Yelp
The food here is so good, especially the complimentary peanuts they give at the beginning of your meal. I ended up ordering an extra dish to go. Highly recommend the fried chicken gizzard. The ambiance is a little dark, but I guess that's the decor nowadays? Service was fine, too. Nothing special, but nothing to complain about either

Fox E.

Yelp
The rap was removed from the first part of this review because I was strongly pressured to remove it by someone that doesn't like my famous raps. Not officially open yet, soft opening only, but they've been serving on and off for a week or so now and it's well worth the hype. It's going to be one of the busiest late night eats spots in Chinatown all summer - trust me. In Houston, you can earn my Friendship by coming to Chinatown, and trying all my recs... and one of those is Friendship BBQ. I know all the hot spots for food and boba in Dun Huang Plaza, which is the plaza to be in, and if you want to do a proper tour of this plaza including what's hot and new, that should definitely include giving this excellent Chinese BBQ Skewer place a try, sooner rather than later. I was lucky to try this in another city (ATL) not long ago, and now that it's in Houston, it's very exciting to have a great late night skewer option to go with Xin Jiang (down the road, also amazing), especially now that Fat Ni sadly closed. The Lamb Skewers, as expected, are the best, but I also recommend the Grilled Pork Skewers. They have hot pot and other amazing dishes too, but I come here mainly for Lamb Skewers as well as the one with Enoki (and Pork Belly, but Enoki is why we get that one, they're a very magical and juicy type of mushroom, and they're even good when there's not Mushroom left in your tummy). Now thank you for your friendship but it's time for this review to Endship. Enough to lift the BLUES Like hearing early MUSE Or buying Asics SHOES It's Friendship BBQS Like half-woke hitting SNOOZE Like sausages that OOZE Like rooms with lovely VIEWS Try Friendship BBQS Like Fox's dumb REVIEWS At least those that AMUSE Like Starlight when she MEWS Try Friendship BBQS Like turning off the NEWS Like hating Ted CRUZ Like cheering cuz he'll LOSE Try Friendship BBQs WHAT!

Yelp
Food -Spicy Stir-fry pot: good flavors but the portion is very small. For $17.99, we were expecting at least a normal sized pot/bowl like many other Chinese restaurants' stir-fry dry pot, but we were still hungry afterwards. Not much vegetables, mostly fish balls, tofu, wood ears, some beef and shrimp. This is definitely more of a side dish, or for one person, and definitely overpriced. -Beef (no fat) skewers, comes with 10 skewers, for $6.99. Tasted good but a little dry and cold. Service Our servers were friendly and helpful, checked on us often, explained the ordering process and brought us everything we need as we dined. You scan the QR code and order everything from your phone. Atmosphere Cool vibes and decor, it makes you feel like you are eating in a nightclub. Great EDM music in the background, and it has a karaoke section too.

Hwang M.

Yelp
I ordered some pork belly and pork skewers, from what the employees told me is that they come in already heated and they place it on the aluminum foil under a light just to warm it up but when I got my food it was cold and had to warm it up again. The ambiance was great don't get me wrong but the only thing that was good was the seafood boil and the steamed pork dumplings. The Jasmine Tea and the Rose Milk Tea was really good. Would I recommend? Yes but be careful with your choices.

Evelyn L.

Yelp
Not sure why this place has such low reviews but I thought the food was very good. We ordered a plate of rice, 3 orders of the wings, 2 wagyu skewers, and 4 Mongolian beef skewers. All delicious, however I didn't like how everything came out at different times. Rice came out pretty quickly but we waited (maybe) 10-15 for each skewer which was kinda frustrating. We came around 3pm, the restaurant was not busy but somehow the service was just super slow.

Rose L.

Yelp
Judging by the name, I had thought you get to bbq your own skewers but apparently it already comes cooked. The foil "grill" had candles underneath to keep your food warm. Majority of the grilled items comes seasoned with a dry spicy Szechuan cumin rub. I'm not a fan of the seasoning but it wasn't that bad. We ordered the wagyu beef skewers and regular beef skewers and it was not worth it. The meat was tiny for the price. The shrimp was good but too salty. My favorite was the fried oyster. I loved the beer tower because it was unique and didn't have that heavy beer taste because there were fruits inside.

Josie N.

Yelp
My friend took me here and it is such a fun vibe! They have karaoke and it was so funny to watch the older ppl blast some jams! The concept is skewers and they have these mini grills that keep your meat heated. For the price point I think it is fair and their grilled oysters are just so lovely! All in all a fun spot for hanging with friends! Their decor is also super corky and interesting as well

Tina Y.

Yelp
Ordered the spicy hot pot, they give almost 70% noodle in the pot. There's less vegetables, and no meat! The waiter told me that's how their hotpot supposed be, and she trying to confusing me that I wanna order rice noodle. She can't even tell the difference, totally not worse for the price. I understand why this place only has 3 stars review

Joel C.

Yelp
Friendship BBQ is open late, which I appreciate once most of the places around here close, and the few open restaurants are super packed. This place is frustrating, and I which I could give it more stars. The menu is vast, but the waiter kept shutting different items down. It would be nice to have an updated menu with discontinued items taken out. Another gripe is regarding the service. I understand that they were understaffed and pretty busy, but there was such a long lapse between waiter appearance. I practically had to beg to get the check. The food was fine, but some items were salty and over-seasoned, and this is coming from a serial over-seasoner. This place could be so much better, but ultimately it was just open late and served a need.

Jessica C.

Yelp
Staff was friendly and helpful answering questions. You order the meat sticks cooked and they bring them to the tiny grill warmer on the table to keep them warm. It didn't really keep anything warm since they light it right before the food is delivered. The peanuts were delicious. The rice was perfect. But the meat skewers is what will keep us from ever returning. Allll the meats tasted the exact same flavor wise. They all had the same heavy seasoning that you could literally scrape off. I personally don't want my chicken, pork and beef to all taste the exact same. The cuts of meat were also not good. We had leftovers and did not take them. The restaurant itself is really cool. Loved the color changing ceiling and music they played! Awesome playlist. If we return, it would be to drink and karaoke. Not to eat. They have beer towers you can order half full or completely full which was a great option depending on your party size.

Carolyn C.

Yelp
Servers are attentive and atmosphere is hip at this new restaurant, but the food was inconsistent. We really enjoyed the pork and cabbage dumplings for our appetizer. The braised eggplant with miso sauce was creamy, smoky and savory - an excellent dish. However, the skewers that we tried all tastes the same because they were seasoned with the same cumins and pepper flakes. The squid skewers were tender, but the chicken and pork belly skewers were dry. I expected the pork belly to be cubed, but it was thinly sliced - thinner than bacon - such that there was no detectable pork belly fat or flavor. The shrimp skewers stood out because the heads were left on, so the shrimp flavor was intact. Otherwise, the skewers all tasted the same. Will not pay a return visit, as there are so many other great dining options in Asiatown.

Crystal John K.

Yelp
Food was decent. They stay ope late. That's why I picked this place. The skewers same out not hot or not cold. I enjoy my food hot. The grilled oyster was excellent but took forever to come out. They have live karaoke here.

Angela P.

Yelp
We love this place. The food, drinks, and music videos are awesome! The waitresses are very knowledgeable about the menu

Hannah P.

Yelp
We really enjoyed eating here. The meat skewers and corn were seasoned so well and came out as they were ready so they were nice and warm-hot. We really enjoyed our food and the ambience of the restaurant. The only thing that was a little rough was that they only served draft beer in a 3L container and my boyfriend asked for draft beer not realizing that so that was a huge misunderstanding but they took care of it. If you had more than one person drinking it though it'd be a great deal! $20 for 3 L of draft beer. Overall really pleased and would definitely come back!

Ashley J.

Yelp
came here on a date night, and Christine gave us the best service ever! Wonderful karaoke in the evenings, the sake is amazing. We got the nigori! While we walked in randomly, the environment made us feel like this is exactly where we needed to spend our night! the romantic environment is exactly what we wanted for our anniversary! even families will feel at home here 10/10 would recommend to everyone!!! will be back soon for our next date night!

Hokheng U.

Yelp
I am giving a star because of how nice the inside is. - All the BBQ meats all have the same seasonings - the noodles are kinda salty the more you eat - definitely overpriced - the service was mediocre at best Advice for other customers: Do not bring your drinks in because they are not allowed. They barbecue the food for you so if you are looking for self-service barbecue like Korean bbq, this is not the place for you. I would not go again and I do not recommend. I think the place is targeted for rich chinese who likes to drink and a bit of food.

Oby E.

Yelp
The review may be a little bias as I was expecting more like a Korean BBQ setting. The "grill" (see photo) was a wood box covered in foil and was powered by 3 tiny candles. The grill may have worked if they had lit it as me and my friend sat down but they waited for our food to arrive for them to finally light the grill. Our host failed to mention in order to order, we have to scan the QR code on the table. So me and my friend waited around waiting to get served for 30 minutes. Thankfully the food came out fast but room temperature. I believe the food was already prepared and not made to order. We were already hungry so we did not wait for the "grill" to heat up our food. Food was okay. I say okay because it's obvious they used the SAME seasoning for all their meats. If you ask me, the spice they use works perfectly with the chicken. They even used the seasoning they used on the meat for the steam bun. We also got fried rice and I believe we got this scallion pancake. It was simple but good. Did not have the same seasoning used for the meat and bun. Highly recommend it. I'll probably come back here in the far future and hope they at least upgrade their grill.

Kacy M.

Yelp
The reviews here aren't the best and everything negative people had to say about this place were all true. Service was weird. They came to give us water, but we ordered thru the QR code on the table. The menu on there was not in alphabetical order or any kind of order really so it wasn't very organized. There was a pay function there but we couldn't pay on there and had to wait to call upon the waitstaff to bring us the check. The skewers came out cold and only two spots on the "heating tray" gave any warmth so you had to place your skewers directly on them to even get hot. The only saving grace here was the hot pot item - we got the seafood noodle hot pot. The broth was great and the noodles were bouncy and chewy. Came with huge shrimp and some veggies. I would not go back here and still think XinJiang BBQ in the JusGo plaza is the best in Chinatown. Every other place down Bellaire has disappointed (this place was featured on Fung Bros but I guess the NYC location is better...).

Jing X.

Yelp
I have no idea why there were so many negative reviews. But I had a great experience here! The service was amazing, the girl was extremely polite and attentive. The BBQ is just the flavor I remembered as a kid eating these on the streets of China! The decorations are also great for pictures and the environment is nice for group hangouts with friends. You also don't need to worry about waiting in line or bringing a large group, because their location is huge! I would 100% recommend!

Allan L.

Yelp
AVOID like the plague. Food is WAY overpriced and service is subpar. Don't be fooled by the grand opening sign. I'm surprised they even have customers in the first place. Any star reviews above 1 are probably written by friends of the owner. Update: We got sick afterwards, most likely due to food poisoning. Skewers we're lukewarm at best.

Yelp
I would normally dont write a bad reviews for a new business because i like them to have the chance to right they wrong, however i never ever in my life been to a business this bad. There is nothing special about the food here, the meats are super dry, the flavors are all the same, every skewers meat tastes exact the same.BBQ meats are cooked in the kitchen and brought out onto the table, taste like they precook the meat 5 hours priors then just reheat and bring it out to the table (on did I mentioned the skewers were warm borderline cold?) The service? One of THE WORST EVER, i reckons i could get better service in McDonald or Walmart, we felt like we were treated differently because we obviously not Chinese (we are Asian - Vietnamese) the staff station is right next to our table, not once did any of the staff that is there come checked on us (there were 4 waitstaff) i purposely leave the cup in the open to let them know we are out of water, i also at the last push of effort called out to the gentlemen with a blonde hair dyed, yet with no response, i would never ever come back to this place.

Yelp
Not sure what to say. I am generally easy to please... This place is extremely overpriced, just to start. Food is either overdone, or slightly undercooked, but always room temp. Everything seemed to be spiced with the same spice blend. Some sort of all spice. or Chinese 5 spice. I can see why others got sick with the quality of the food that was given. Not feeling great myself. Adult drink selection is very poor as well. There is a bar for some reason, even with the lack of any mixed drinks? The grill is a candle grill. It's not even used... Place had the most depressing music I have ever heard. Like it was trying to be romantic, but it was sad stuff. One song was even about Covid? Fun to watch, let me tell you. Service was okay. One guy was actually attentive and polite. Women in the front didn't even reply to a hello. Just generally a poor atmosphere. This business needs a major overhaul or it will not last. I highly recommend you avoid, and go to one of Houston's KBBQ, or another local Chinese BBQ. Sorry to be so harsh, but it was a really disappointing experience that cost me and my business meeting more money than it should have... went to whataburger on the way home instead. One start, because the place looked cool on the inside and out. Had a cool karaoke setup. That's it. Good luck!

Yelp
Food is alright, atmosphere is great, one running cockroach is bearable. But these small oysters are truly Teeny Tiny. Garlic small oysters? Nahh, I would call it Garlic on Oyster Shells.

Yelp
I don't normally write a bad review for a grand opening restaurant. But that's one of my horrible experience here. I've been waited for my togo order more than an hour. And when I went inside to ask whether the order ready or not. They told me that they would do the to-go order after dine-in. Also, the server told me that's "normal" for the cucumber when I called them. But I wanna say, that' not my first time to order here, and I know what's the "normal size" for the order.

Bring a personality too cause if you ain't got time to wait and talk to people you gana be one lonely bored mf. Best believe you ain't gana be able to read Shit. Everything in Chinese. Just do waitress recommendation and the cucumbers. Also small garlic oysters a must! Go next door and get drinks BYOB!!!!

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday afternoon, service was really slow even though it was only a few tables. The flavor was not there. The grill isn't even a grill, it is a piece of foil on top of two small candles. The meat doesn't grill. You should bring your own grill or just don't come here. The picture of the meat is after 30 minutes of being on the "grill". Please don't waste your time.

Yelp
Here's a list of issues I came across: - Service was very mediocre. Staff never checked on our table of 4. They would just drop the food on our grill and leave in a hurry. - All the food tasted the same and they came out cold. Only the chicken came out hot (I'm guessing chicken doesn't get ordered very often, so they have to cook it fresh per order). - Food was placed on this little box that has alcohol candle. It wasn't even lit, so our cold food continued to be cold until we got up and requested it to be lit. Here's the best one: - Our chicken kebabs came out RAW. We took turn to confirm it using flash light. Needless to say, I won't be returning to this establishment. Flashy lights and edgy scene can't make up for mediocre service and bad (yet pricey) food.
