"A narrow strip of land divides the northern Atlantic and southern Caribbean sides of Frigate Bay, making it easy to walk from one section to the other. Many visitors do just that, as hotels like the St. Kitts Marriott Resort and Sugar Bay Club are on the north side, while the beach bars of The Strip sit on the south side. The sand and scenery around the resorts is better, but the nightlife on South Frigate Bay is among the island’s best."

Stayed just next to this beach (March'23)and loved it much calmer seas than the other side of the island and beautifully clean and clear water and beach just like the whole island. Great bars nearby for drinks and food I loved this place and can't wait to go back soon!! Can get busy as they tend to bring the tourists from cruise ships here but they went up the other end of the beach to where we were. I miss my morning swims in this beautiful place but be warned the sea wasn't the warmest but you get used to it!

A calm and peaceful place for a quiet family holiday. Some great restaurants in the area. Rock Lobster, Pizza Boys to name a couple. Reggae Beach is 10 minutes drive from here. Lovely area to spend a day. Has good cafes. Spice Mill has great food options. We spent lot of time near Debbie’s shack. Debbie is a lovely person and makes tasty chicken wings 😃. Try her Rum Punch with a Pakistani syrup Rooh Afza - a wonderful invention.

Frigate Bay is the place to be. We had dinner at Boozie's several nights and drinks in the bars along the beach. Rum punch and Carib (beer) were our choice of drinks.

Review of Frigate Bay – St. Kitts “The Island’s Most Popular Beach and Entertainment Destination” Frigate Bay is one of the most visited and well-known areas in St. Kitts, located just a few minutes outside of the capital city, Basseterre. It is considered the island’s main tourist district, famous for its beautiful beaches, resorts, vibrant nightlife, and recreational activities. Frigate Bay is divided into two main beach areas — North Frigate Bay and South Frigate Bay — each offering a different experience. The North Bay faces the Atlantic Ocean, with stronger waves and wind, making it perfect for water sports like surfing and kiteboarding. In contrast, South Frigate Bay opens up to the calm, crystal-clear waters of the Caribbean Sea, making it ideal for swimming, relaxing, and family outings. Historically, the area around Frigate Bay was less developed and primarily used for small-scale farming and fishing. However, with the growth of tourism in the late 20th century, Frigate Bay transformed into a hotspot for luxury hotels, vacation rentals, and beach bars, while still preserving its natural beauty. One of the biggest attractions of Frigate Bay is The Strip — a lively stretch of beachside bars and restaurants along South Frigate Bay Beach. The Strip comes alive at night with music, dancing, local cuisine, and beach parties. Popular spots like Vibes Beach Bar, Mr. X’s Shiggidy Shack, and Boozies are famous for their Caribbean-style seafood dishes, cocktails, and live entertainment. Frigate Bay is also home to some of the island’s best resorts and golf courses. The St. Kitts Marriott Resort and the Royal St. Kitts Golf Club are both located in this area, offering luxury accommodation and world-class amenities. Another special feature of Frigate Bay is its stunning view of the nearby hills and the island of Nevis across the Caribbean Sea. Visitors often enjoy hiking the nearby hills or relaxing on the beach while watching the sunset over the water. Why visit Frigate Bay? It offers the perfect blend of relaxation and entertainment. Whether you are looking for a peaceful beach day, a fun night out, or a taste of Kittitian hospitality and culture, Frigate Bay has something for everyone. It represents the modern, tourist-friendly side of St. Kitts while still maintaining the island’s natural charm and friendly atmosphere. Frigate Bay continues to be a symbol of how St. Kitts has embraced tourism while preserving its natural beauty and local culture.

I read the other reviews and this was not what I found. Quiet...yes. scenic views of the ocean...yes. Lots of pubs...yes. Don't walk down the road behind it as you will get a different perspective. Even the beach had debris, an old firepit, and it looked beaten up. A few of the pubs looked interesting, but a few looked scary. We found a great spot at the beginning of the strip. Sunset pub. Nicely maintained, small little pub that looked down the bay, nice view, and great service. Look at the ocean and it is picturesque, looking down the beach and not so much.

I wasn’t impressed. Our taxi driver was obviously buddies with one of the local bar owners on the beach, which was why he took us there. The locals selling their aloe and renting their umbrellas and chairs were quite abrasive and pushy. The sand is not that fine and wading out is pretty rough on the feet.
