Best gelato place I’ve been, the workers were super nice. The gelato was great and they even had dairy free options for the lactose intolerant people. Try the lemon flavor! Overall great experience

“Just so you know, one person can only try two flavors,” said the person behind the counter without making eye contact with me. I regretted being flustered as I tried to explain that I only tried one sample and it’s my son’s second samples. I felt so annoyed because the person before us was treated so well. The comment made me overthink what was so different about me and the other customer, who was also a parent of two. Gelato is great. We tried mascarpone and berry sorbet. Service can use more kindness. Or perhaps you can put the sign “two samples only” to avoid saying it to customers.

We were in Navy Pier on a jampacked Saturday during Spring Break. This was a great place to snag a treat. I tried the Marscapone and raspberry gelato and my friend got the same flavor as an affogato. We both thought it was delicious and found a nearby bench to eat.

picked gelato for a good birthday treat, and we were so glad we did!! frío was delicious :) the cups looked small but do NOT be fooled—they STUFF those cups full!! couldn't be happier with the quality!! got a cup of coffee+chocolate and a cup of horchata!! so yummy and soooo filling!! def will be back, thanks so much :)

Best gelatos in town! 🍨 The dulce de leche and maracuyá flavors are absolutely amazing, and I love the fresh waffle corne—it makes the gelato even better!

Wonderful service - didn’t have to wait at all. Good portions for price. Was able to split my cup between two flavors so I didn’t have to choose. Found a quiet table around the corner and enjoyed the experience.

Was not the best service. I accidentally ordered the wrong flavor for my 6 year old after mishearing him and when they handed it to him and he cried about it being wrong they wouldn’t remake it for him. Admittedly was my mistake and I just had to get back in line and pay for another one. But I was kind of hoping they’d be more understanding. Oh well. Won’t be back.

Gelato was just ok. The chocolate doesn’t have a lot of flavor. Staff very nice.

We hosted an exchange student from Argentina in 2024. When she visited Chicago while living here in the US, she said she discovered "ice cream from back home" and it brought her so much joy. So when we visited Chicago we made sure to have the experience. Frío Gelato was fantastic, and helped us feel connected to Pilar. We had the Dulce de leche with raspberry, and the tiramisu. It was terrific even in the cold winter weather of December in Chicago. Also the staff were very friendly and helpful!

I had to leave a review about my experience because the staff was so helpful. I brought my wife to navy pier while visiting chicago but was hesitant about the store because of the high prices, but this woman with orange hair helped me and my wife choose an affordable option and it was delicious. I came again last weekend and another lady, I think a bit younger this time helped me out. I have a thicker accent so both women were patient with me and my wife. I look forward to coming again to Chicago next year

We came here right after eating so lunch. Prices are on the higher side, but they do offer a lot of good looking options and they have great customer services. I ordered a scoop of their Mexican hot chocolate and it tasted delicious. I've tried ordering Mexican hot chocolate at Mexicans ice cream places where it doesn't even taste anything like hot chocolate. Its Italian gelato place got it right. Impressive. Can definitely see myself returning to try a few other flavors.

My husband, son & I visited Navy Pier yesterday Sunday 1/26 & walked up to counter. We were looking at the flavors while 2 female employees were sitting down at cash register and then one of them came over to us...I asked her what is the smallest size they have and she picked up cup to show me. Then, I said I would like that size and flavor I would like. She replied "I'm on lunch and can't serve you until 2pm" while she pointed to this small "we will return" sign which showed 2pm. The time was 1:50pm & she was not budging. I was shocked by this response because there were 2 employees taking lunch at same time instead of taking turns with their breaks and still serving customers! It made no sense to me & I hope the owner reads this and now knows that he/she is losing business because employees want to take lunch breaks together sitting at the counter out in the open!

Argentinian gelato spot on the pier! No free samples, and overall a little on the pricy side, but some of the flavors here are definitely worth it. Staff were friendly and willing to provide recommendations. The queso & miel (cheese and honey) flavor was one of the standouts; much more honey-flavored than anything, but I'm not complaining - very tasty. The Mango Sorbet was unexpectedly pretty fantastic, very fresh, clean, sweet and well-balanced fruit flavor - and I'm not usually big on sorbet. The frutas del bosque (fruit sorbet) was a little more on the basic side - fine but nothing to write home about. The Malbec con frutos rojos (red wine) had a bit of an overpowering basic/cheap wine flavor that took away from the experience a little; even if you're a wine enthusiast, I probably wouldn't advise getting it without at least getting a sample first. All in all pretty good! Worth trying if you're on the pier looking for something sugary and cold.

Great experience with the workers! First time here and it was overall a great experience. The workers were very welcoming and helpful. They suggested popular flavors and had the chance to have a couple of samples. It was a hot day out so I decided to go with the mixed berry sorbet and lemon sorbet. Both flavors were very refreshing to have! The mixed berry sorbet was quite sweet and had pieces of berry in it. The lemon sorbet was very delicious with a nice tangy flavor. Not too sour. Overall the balance of both made a good combination. I definitely would recommend trying this place out if your ever by the Navy Pier and craving something cold and sweet.

Delicious spot for a sweet treat on navy pier! Had a sweet tooth so my mom and I came here and frio looked to be the tastiest option. I got a small gelato with chocolate and coconut. It was delicious, rich but not too rich and is perfect on a hot day. A little pricey but not outrageous. Glad I got to try it!

Perfect thing to grab on a warm day! The gelato is not to sweet, and has literally the best texture. So glad I stumbled into this place.

A little touristy but my fav thing to get when I take visitors to navy pier. While it's not the best gelato money can buy it hits the spot when you're waiting for summer fireworks to start

First time trying this place. Looked really good from a far and definitely tasted good. Had many options to choose from, I had chosen Horchata gelato with oreo toppings in a small cup. You could also get larger cups and have them in waffle cones. The price was $7 which for what size I got I think is a lot so that's why you try things once. But it was really good you can taste the cinnamon and the actual gelato flavoring of rice milk. Oreos we're also very good duh, and worker was very nice!

Located right inside navy pier on the south end of the main building in the center. I normally go to Ben and Jerry's but just needed something a little more natural and fresh!! Got the Mexican Hot Chocolate with Cinnamon & Mint chip, PHENOMENAL PAIR TOGETHER!!! Highly recommend!

One of the best tasting gelatos that I've tasted!!! Taste: Coco (Coconut) - 5/5 Mascarpone con frambuesa (Mascarpone Cheese with Raspberry) - 5/5 Sambayón (Egg Custard with Marsala Wine) - 5/5 Queso y miel (Cheese & honey) - 5/5 Limón (lemon) - 5/5 Frutos del Bosque (Mixed berries) - 3.5/5 Service: Excellent - patient & pleasant - especially important when customers want to taste/sample different flavors Ambience: Clean, modern chic

On our way out of the Navy Pier, we stopped by for a couple scoops. They are currently not doing any tastings. I was indecisive, so I got a scoop of each: Malbec con frutos rojos (Malbec wine with seasonal berries) and Mascarpone con franbuesa (Mascarpone cheese with raspberry swirl). Both were good choices, but I did prefer the mascarpone flavor - it has a good sweet and berry flavor profile. Gelato's a wonderful treat on a sunny summer day!

Location of this store is ideal on the navy pier! However, the gelato is quite average. Flavors are very mild and the usual creaminess of gelato is missing. To top it all, the server was disinterested about the product.

Literally the best gelato I have ever had. My friend and I walked to Navy Pier and were DYING for some ice cream, and our options on the pier were the overpriced Rainbow Cone or this gelato place. Disclaimer: it's still expensive, a medium dish is $6.50. But it is SO worth it. They PACK it in there, you really get a lot of gelato for that price. And, from what I understood, you can get 2 flavors in any size dish or cone. I got mango and wild berry, and both flavors were absolutely delicious. The texture was almost more like a sorbet. They tasted so fresh and were flavorful without being super overbearing..sometimes gelato is just too strong. I sampled the dulce de leche and didn't like it for this very reason, but the fruit flavors didn't have that problem at all. I'd pay $6.50 for this again in a heartbeat. It was just what we needed after walking in the heat for miles. Also, we learned the Spanish word for waffle cone--cucurucho! How fun.

My first venture out after the pandemic and this was the few places open, perfect for a hot day after jogging all over the lakefront! The large size allows you 3 flavors, I got Honey and Cheese, Malbec and berries, and Banana, it was a lunch unto itself. They kept practices clean and I was able to eat inside since hardly anyone was in there. Great gelato: perfect mix between smooth creamy and refreshing icy, flavors not overpowering and blended well

They don't really ask you what you would like, instead they'll just assume and serve you whatever. The stuff is not approachable or friendly.

Gelato amazing. I loved their Limon. I would not recommend the cafe con leche. Just steamed milk.

Friendly service. They had 3 dairy free flavors. The mango was really good. Very smooth silky texture. The single small scoop is really large and only $5.

must get mascarpone berry gelato! i also got chocolate gelato but it was too sweet for me. but mascarpone flavor was so good. i got those two flavors on chocolate waffle cone. next time ill skip the waffle cone and just get the mascarpone gelato.

I had the sabayon (egg custard with wine).. loved the unique flavor..my brother had the mascarpone berry gelato...both were excellent..don't believe the 1 star reviews!!!!

Poor quality tasteless ice creams along with rude and impolite store assistants (Alex) make your experience from this gelato store Meh! Don't go...

Be careful... the charging more than u get. I ordered 4 cones and paid for 5!!! Check u bill

The chocolate shake is really bad, and the service is worst, I asked for improve it and the answer was The shake it's like this, pathetic!!!!!!
