Fritanga Las Piedrecitas - Review - Hialeah - Miami - The Infatuation

"Las Piedrecitas in Hialeah is as inviting as the children’s section of your neighborhood public library. Everyone here smiles at you—which isn’t always the case in a busy fritanga—and it’s relaxed enough that you can patiently choose the specific strips of carne asada you want (the shorter strips are juicier and easier to chew). Take the heavy container to one of the tables and enjoy the quiet of solo diners around you doing the same. Your fritanga here should also be paired with their rosa de jamaica that’s sour and sweet. For dessert, head to the freezer for a little baggie of their housemade ice cream with flavors like nancite, tres leches, and coconut. Get all three. photo credit: Mariana Trabanino photo credit: Mariana Trabanino video credit: Mariana Trabanino" - Mariana Trabanino

The 15 Best Nicaraguan Restaurants In Miami

"Hialeah is certainly the place to find stellar Cuban food in Miami, but as many have realized over the years, La Ciudad que Progresa is a lot more diverse than that. Case in point: there are actually quite a few Nicaraguan restaurants in the area, including Las Piedrecitas, which we like for its dependably good food and casual vibe. On top of the typical fritanga steam counter, there is also a bakery case where you can pick up traditional cookies and pastries, like picos—triangular sweet breads stuffed with cheese and other fillings. There’s also a cold case featuring a variety of Nicaraguan cheeses and cultured dairy products. This makes Las Piedrecitas a one-stop destination for getting a pretty full taste of what Nicaragua has to offer." - carlos c olaechea, virginia otazo

Used to go here a lot when I was in jose marti middle school but nothing has changed since then I guess lol everything was fresh when I got it and the meat super soft. It did have a little line but nothing compared to other ones out there with big names and not so good food 🤷🏽‍♀️

First time here. Service is excellent but slow. Food was good but no wow factor. The portions are small compared to other fritanga locations I've been to. Pricey compared to portions.

Been coming to this location for 15 years! Most delicious Nicaraguan food in the area! Always order the carne asada, Maduros, queso Frito, y gallo pinto! Then I top it with the salada and it's PERFECT every damn time! Highly recommend.

Been coming here for years. Quality of food has definitely gone down. Prices have gone up which is understandable. But nearly $15 for a plate which isn’t all that great isn’t worth the price. Carne asada is ok but not great and gallo pinto is overly greasy from time to time. Service is always great and fast though. Come here mainly for convenience and is close by.

The food quality was superb. This location is unquestionably among the top 5 destinations for authentic Nicaraguan food!

Lovely and friendly people, the food is really good and cooked to perfection, at least the 20+ times I have gone it is so. The price for the Carne asada (churrasco) is about 12 dollars but they are generous when serving. Highly recommended for some good Nicaraguan food.

Did not have a chance to visit Las Piedrecitas until recently. Offer and serve Nicaraguan staples: carne asada, gallon pinto, repochetas, natural juices. Friendly staff, portions on the smaller side.
