Following Allegations at LA’s Horses, the Fate of the Former Chumley’s Space Is in Flux | Eater NY

"I understand the planned restaurant for the former Chumley’s space is tentatively called Froggy’s and, while the landlord Margaret Streicker Porres says the project is still on and expects it to become a West Village mainstay, the concept is in flux: ownership and the name are unsettled amid chefs Liz Johnson and Will Aghajanian’s public divorce filings (which include restraining orders and allegations), it’s unclear which chef—if either—will shepherd the restaurant forward, a source warned the name could be a “copyright nightmare” because it’s commonly used, and an onetime advisor, Thomas Carter, says he is no longer involved." - Melissa McCart

We're out here, working on the road, and I see the side of Froggy's and it reads "PIZZA SUBS" I took that as an ad for some infamous pizza subs, which I LOVE a good pizza sub. So I'd said that I'll eat there for lunch. Well come to find out, the sign on the side actually reads as "PIZZA (&) SUBS" 🤣 And funny enough, I guess I was the 1st to ever make that mistake because I had ordered Froggy's FIRST PIZZA SUB!!! The guy sounded a bit confused when I placed the ordered and informed me that it wasn't an item on the menu but DID make one for me. And it was DELICIOUS! The sauce was great! And it was the perfect amount of cheese! The only thing that could've made it better were a few more pepperoni, but I understood that it was the 1st one he has made, and he did ask me for my opinion to improve. I think I may go back again to order another and taste his improved version! Highly recommend!

I was on the Eastern Shore for a bicycling event, stopped by Froggy's to pick up dinner the evening before the ride. Had the Italian sub and it was delicious. The bread was fresh and perfectly toasted, ingredients were fresh and flavorful, and the service was fast and friendly. I liked it so much I came back the next day after the ride and had a Gerry's Special pizza. Again, great service, great pizza, and ready in minutes.

We stopped by this place from out of town! I was expecting to get pizza, but I was pleasantly surprised to find a Mexican-inspired menu in addition to the pizza menu. I ordered the Chicken Tacos for $13, which came with four tacos, a choice of corn or flour tortillas, and a drink. The tacos were tasty, but they could have used a bit more flavor. I chose corn tortillas, but they weren’t grilled, which made the tacos a bit drier. Other than that, the atmosphere was nice and inviting, with outdoor seating and some family games to play while you wait for your food. I would definitely stop by again if I’m in the area.

SERIOUSLY UNSTATED!! We were leaving OBX heading home to NY. I was craving PIZZA something fierce but there was nothing around that offered what I wanted (PIZZA!). Then this place came into view!! Looked a little out of place but if there’s 1 thing I’ve learned about good food, it’s that it comes from all types of places! So, the kids and family all went in and I was happy to see it was a clean, convenient place to eat! 1st thing that stuck out to me was the FLY NETS! Yessss!! They had these domed nets, to keep the flies from landing on the pizzas!! As a NYer, I’ve been in A LOT of pizza joints. This was the 1st I saw someone bother to keep the flies off the food! 1 thing Dominicans know about is FOOD! And these were Dominican/Mexicans (not the same I know, I’m just using generalizations to try to NOT offend, sorry.) Anyway, they have tacos and pizza and it is my personal opinion that if u go to that OBX and don’t stop here at some point, ur missing out. We went to fancy restaurants while there…THIS PLACE WAS BETTER. I said what I said. So, make sure u stop in sometime and give it a try! They have outdoor seats & games for kids! Seriously, u won’t be disappointed!! 10/10 do recommend! *bonus points bcuz my son (9yo) was able to chat with a local fisherman (shrimp of crabs I think he said) & learned that it’s a hard life but that it’s a life for those who love what they do lol. I don’t think he will ever forget that part of our trip! PS MUCHOS GRACIAS señoritas who were working that day! U ladies were AWESOME!

Amazing tacos! Corn tortillas are made on premises, by hand. All pizzas available with gluten-free crust too.

Pizza and sub were good. Counter service seemed confused and slow. There was a lot of carryout business happening. We ate at one of the tables. I will pick up and eat out next time.

Google
Counter service. Not a lot of inside seating. Had the stuffed shells & lasagna. Good food. Big cookies hit the spot. Drinks are from a stand up cooler not a fountain style if that matters to anyone. A lot of locals came in for pizza to go which speaks volumes for their food I think.

Yelp
First and foremost, very nice people. Very friendly service. However, since new ownership there has been a dramatic shift in quality of food. This is NOT good pizza. It's very greasy, low quality ingredients. There is a struggle with when then "feel" like doing Strombolis and other items on the menu at various times. They also do not deliver consistently, only occasionally. The ambiance of the place is very nice, very chill and slightly old school matched with great people. The problem here is a struggle between Hispanic food (which is always amazing) and Italian food, which is subpar. Prices are definitely reasonable, given it's a tourist spot.

Yelp
If your following me, this is day (3) of the EC road trip. Left Rocky Mount and heading to Ocean City, MD and Neil has pizza on his mind. Not seen a mom & pop pizza place on my travels. I was heading to Norfolk and the bridge-tunnel. Wasn't feeling hungry till I got close to Norfolk (Holiday Inn Exp has a nice continental spread) and by that time I was in the thick of things, traffic and did not want to upset Siri by deviating from her directions. Just had to make it to the other side. Once on the other side of the bay the road turned deserted like, not much but boat and bait shops but after a few miles I saw my next food shack, Froggy's was the name on the marque. Another mom & pop shop, and with a craving for pizza I just had to stop. Besides, it was another food shack. After entering I could see this was not your typical pizza. It wasn't NY, it wasn't Sicilian, not even Chicago. Even though I was in VA, the eastern shore they call it, this a Jersey Tomato pie. Yes, tomato pie. This is something you don't find other than on the Jersey boardwalk. What a find. And of course I ordered the two slice special. It was nice to have something different from the NY style pizza that is EVERYWHERE in Florida. Took my slices and drink to front porch, it was nice out this particular day and soaked up the ambiance. As far as the pizza goes, the crust nice and crisp. I believe they make their own sauce. Just the right amount of cheese. Perfect tomato pie. Once again if your on the eastern shore route 13, stop and have a slice, you won't regret it. Peace.

Yelp
Best pizza and subs in cape Charles delicious and very affordable!!! Excellent staff!

Katelyn G.

Yelp
We came into Cape Charles for the weekend and wanted to order pizza. This changed from Gerry's to Froggy's. We ordered 3 pizzas and a Caesar salad. Everything was delicious!! A perfect thin New York style pizza! The staff was super nice and accommodating. Highly recommend them! You won't be disappointed!

Yelp
Worst pizza I have had in a while. ordered a White pizza with Spinach and tomato added. was supposed to have mozzarella and parmesan cheese also ( along with ricotta ) but sadly was missing . The dollops of ricotta couldn't have added up to 1/2 cup of cheese . The only thing it did have was spinach and so much of it the pizza looked green, and it was very bitter. Utter disappointment!!
