Frog's Cantina

I would say this is a pretty good place at the end of the day for hiking. Portions are large but there’s only outdoor seating and we got a lot of bugs. Staff were pretty friendly though. I would get the taco salad, which is basically a fried tortilla bowl with meat on the bottom and salad on top which was really good, but I would stay away from the Indian taco, it had a big piece of bread on the bottom of the taco bowl that was difficult to finish.

After ordering our food, we searched for a clean table. Many were empty and none were clean so I asked for a rag to clean one. The guy working came over and literally only wiped 2 very small areas of the table leaving 90 percent still dirty. I got the shredded chicken burrito, which I didn’t care for. The meat was dry and flavorless and not much other flavor to the burrito. The canned beans that came on the side were dry and also flavorless. My friends ordered items with different meat and said their’s also wasn’t very good. I could see a crockpot in the attached trailer and assume they warm the meat all day and don’t add any liquids to keep it moist. Some salt and seasonings would be very helpful to make the food taste decent. The chips and salsa were pretty good. The cost is way more than the quality of food provided. I’d say the best part of our dining experience was the live music. We did enjoy that. The place could use quite a bit of repainting and TLC.

We got food here while at Glacier National Park and ordered chicken tacos, beef tacos, and corn elote. We waited quite a while for our food and noticed customers after us getting the same food much earlier. We were also served our food in to go containers even though we had said we were eating there while other customers were served in baskets. The guy taking our order was also a lot nicer to everyone else. We were the only people of color there. I wish that wasn’t the driving factor for the treatment we got, but not sure what else it could be. We were super hungry and were glad to finally get the food - it wasn’t that great and didn’t have much flavor (except for the corn, which was delicious), which wouldn’t have been an issue because the dining spot was convenient, but the service made us feel not so great to be there.

We stopped here for dinner during our stay in St. Mary. The Indian Taco is the only vegetarian option they have which was good. They were out of fried Avocado.

We stopped here on 8/8/23 and had their special of the day -stuffed chili peppers and a burrito. And chips and guacamole. We got margaritas from the bar next door. They may have had the best refried beans ive ever had. All the food was great. Service was friendly, quick, and accommodating. The seating is only outdoors, but their patio us a great vibe. I'd go again!

I went here to try a few things, but sadly, they were completely out of any meat. I ended up getting the fried avocado, which was pretty good. The price was about double than what was shown on the menu on gmaps, so that should be updated or removed.

If you visit Glacier just drive by! We ordered nachos and a burrito. $17 for the burrito and $15 for the nachos with chicken. They took 32 minutes to prepare our order. When received the nachos they forgot the chicken: it took 5 seconds to give me a side of chicken! Hmmm 32 minutes for chips. These were the saddest nachos I have ever had!!! Almost 0 tomatoes and 5 slices of jalapeño. The burrito was very average and after such a long wait it should have at least been good. So disappointing after a long hike at Glacier.

One of our best meals in Montana. We arrived about 30 minutes before close and they were still happy to serve us. The staff was all very friendly and welcoming. The food was excellent as well - we got the shredded beef tacos and shredded beef burrito. Both came with refried beans and rice, along with a few chips and salsa. Definitely recommend getting shredded beef, very flavorful. We also got queso and the sopapillas. Both so good. Definitely recommend after a long day at Glacier!

Cute little tucked-in cantina just outside of Saint Mary's Entrance. It was one of the few places that were opened and just close. It was a nice and quiet place to have lunch, picnic bench seating, and it's very colorful. There weren't much options to choose from, but I was craving for crunch tacos. My boyfriend ordered a beef burrito. I was quite satisfied with my ordered, but the burrito was not even as good as Chipotle according to him. It was like it was microwaved and brought out. It did come out really fast, but because mine was fine I didn't really pay attention. It did it's job and we had a meal before heading back to the hotel. The prices were a bit on the higher side for what they were serving, but you are in a "tourist" place.

Relaxed outdoor seating restaurant with a decent offering of food and drink items given the location. There was also live music which was outstanding. The prices were quite reasonable as well. The place definitely gets busy at certain times of day with the park rush but the staff and kitchen do their best to keep up. We ordered the Chips and Queso, Snachos, Tacos, and Quesadillas. For a drink it had to be the Huckleberry Margarita which was delicious. This is a great spot after a day at Glacier National Park!

Our group ate here last night. We had the tacos and the burritos. Overall, everything was very tasty. I would have liked a larger serving of the side chips, and my friends wanted more of the salsa. Fun outside dining experience.

Went here for a quick bite after some hiking in Glacier. It's has a cool outdoor vibe. The food was solid, I got the quesadilla and it was massive. Service was okay throughout, but can't complain.

Really fun stop after a day of hiking! My daughter thought the burrito was the best! The chicken tacos were very good and I loved the chips and salsa! One thing I'd change: I ordered my tacos soft corn. They don't fry the soft corn tortillas which is just not what I'm used to. Overall loved the vibe and would definitely come back!

Our meal was wonderful! Windy but not bad. The salsa was amazing and the sopapilas (sp) we're amazing! Great service! No weird piercings or whatever! Live music was fun!!!

After a long wait we were finally seated. i then waited again for a couple of minutes before calling upon a waiter. The waiter told us he wont even come and take an order until around an hour. I haven't seen such a response ever and I am so pissed that I waited for a place that didnt even want my business.

The ground beef soft tacos were amazing with chips and salsa. Definitely stop by for some quick Mexican food! Anthony did a great job of taking our order and making sure we were good throughout the visit.

Camping in the area wanted Mexican tried Frogs Cantina & Mexican Grill. Great outdoor atmosphere with live music, Music was great! Amazing service, Anthony was our server. We had the Shredded Beef Burrito ,Tacos, and Shredded Chicken Quesadilla, Family of 7. The food was delicious also served with Chips and fresh salsa, had great flavor! Highly Recommend after a long day of hiking or just a relaxing evening dinner. Will definitely be a stop when in the area. Thanks Frogs for a Great Dinner.

Not good. Not bad. Just alright. It's Taco Bell style Mexican food, however the food is fresh and clean and there's hot sauce for people who desire a little more heat. Fair warning though, get there early. Due to the pandemic and labor shortage, they run out of food very quickly. I know the sign says they're open from 11-9, but when we went there for lunch, they were closed because the food delivery truck hadn't stopped by yet. When we tried again for dinner, we were lucky and were able to order, even though they had already run of some items we wanted to try. By the time it was 7:15ish, they had completely sold out and anyone who came afterwards was straight out of luck. Line can be a bit long though. However, it moves quickly and the employees are great at their jobs. Anyways, get there early.

Bad food but fast, pleasant service.. Be sure to ask the price before you ask for salsa. $4 for a small container of bottled salsa. Really? Pass this place by.

This was a nice surprise In the little tourista village on the east end of Glacier National Park's Going to the Sun Road. Tried it because the first few Yelp reviews were more positive than other restaurants in St. Mary. Has a great vibe, as if some Deadheads decided to open a taco stand. The tacos and burrito were delicious, with deep-fried avocado filling in for meat. The seating is picnic tables on a deck. For Craft beer and Cocktails, someone runs next door to Kip's beer garden, another promising spot. They were quite busy so we waited awhile for our meal but the food and atmosphere were worth it.

I've seen a lot of the negative reviews due to staffing so I thought I'd also leave a review here. I understand the staffing issues going on right now, it is effecting the entire country, but I would also be upset due to a 90-120min wait for food! That said, my visit today was really good. Staff was so nice and my food and drink came out quickly, and it is very busy here today. So they might have righted that complaint already. Food was good, I didn't expect anything too special but it surprised me. I recommend you try the nachos with fried avacado.

Stand in line for 25 minutes to place an order and then be told it will take at least an hour.

We were very happy with this find. They make their chips and salsa fresh daily and the food was taste and we'll prepared. Outdoor seating on a cool day was pleasant and if we had stuck around longer we could have caught a musician's performance. Didn't expect much, choices are limited on this side of the Park, but left happy and full.

After having been up in Canada for the past couple of weeks, being able to find a decent Mexican joint back in the States was such a pleasure. This place satisfied our craving for Mexican food. The experience was great, because there was a guy playing live music while we were there and one of the ladies was very helpful. Since they also own and operate the joint next-door, I think there are some logistics issues that could be better here. The staff was many-times difficult to find as they would leave this restaurant area for the other place or go out behind it, etc. I'm not sure why they have it set up that way. The seating is all outdoors, so you do face the issue of having to deal with bugs/mosquitoes and so forth while you eat. I guess it's largely unavoidable, but know that this can be an issue for some. Still, overall the food was pretty good. We had the veggie tacos, fried avocado burrito, and so forth. All of it was pretty good. I probably would give this place a 3 star rating otherwise, but I think due to that Mexican food craving we probably over-enjoyed our lunch here.

It's ok, we were there just for a snack in the middle of the day so no one else was there. They let us know they were out of a few things as they had been slammed the past couple of days. We just shared nachos which were fine. I was fine having a bite there, I'm not sure I'd go for dinner, but it was reasonably good.

Rough. Hard to give positives to anything other than the fresh chips and salsa. Long wait. Really long wait. Both the beef and chicken were pretty dry. Some of the rice in the burrito wasn't fully cooked... etc etc. Nope.

This place doesn't even deserve one star. Zero rating is well fitting. Almost 2 hrs wait for ur order. Their excuse is that there's only two of them working. Then why didn't u tell us that the wait will be that long so we could have made a decision not to place our order and find another place. The guy who's taking an order is the rudest person you'll ever encounter. You will never go anywhere in life with that nasty attitude. We just patiently waited but we were very disappointed. The food was not good either. What a waist of time and money. Don't ever come here. You've been warned!!!!

This is the perfect name for this restaurant... food is bad, service is bad, attitude of a certain worker is worse.

Do NOT come here after a Long Hike... Where do I start with Bad Frog Cantina... not only did the people who came after us get served before us, but after 45 minutes, the waitress goes back and I hear the cook go "Oh, I haven't started that." Mind you, there were four tables. FOUR. Not twenty, literally four. It was a train wreck of a situation. They couldn't even muster up a simple order of Nachos. We witnessed three customers return to the counter to replace butchered orders. God only knows if they ever got their food, we sure didn't. The back of this place is literally a junk yard. You know that's a bad sign. Atmosphere is a 2 out of 10. Nasty sticky tables. I laid down for a nap and noticed two nails sticking out from the bottom of our table... Surely a surprise for an unsuspecting customer. Long story short, avoid this place at all costs! It's not worth waiting 45 minutes just to be told your order hasn't even been started while you watch the people who came after you eat away....

Our order - veg burrito and taco. Nothing spectacular however this is the only mex food shack. We went for dinner here as we were craving for spicy food. Wait time - 45 minutes. Agree with fellow yelper Dave's review- people who came after us were served first. Cost - $22 Depending on how hungry you are, plan your visit here.

Well, was craving Mexican food. Sign said they opened at 11:00 but they said they needed another half hour. So we ordered a beer. The beer was warm and lite beer. While waiting drinking warm beer they told another couple it would be half hour. They left! So did we! We decided to leave and go to two sisters cafe down the street and was immediately seated and we have cold beer!

Ok so this place, well isn't so good. Service is slower than the proverbial glacier - fitting for the location. First day we actually left before ordering. The one cook had no help and was on the weeds with one customer. Should have let sleeping dogs lie. Stopped there the second day in St Mary. This time there was more staff and more customers. Took forever to get a chance to order. Nachos were a small step above ballpark nachos in quantity of ingredients, but retained the same cold cheese from a pump smothering. Burritos were dry and lacked any real depth. The salsa that came with it was yuckers. Do you self a favor skip this establishment.

Fresh Mexican in the middle of glacier national park! Incredible food, great service and beautiful surrounding. Satiated the pangs of hunger with great tacos, quesadillas, and burritos

On a 5-week road trip and camping in Glacier, we decided to venture past our campfire to find some food. We were in the mood for Mexican but in a location like Browning Montana, there aren't many options so we decided to go to the Bad Frog Cantina. It was terrible. I'm not sure what else to say but it was the absolute worst Mexican food I've ever eaten. Even the chips were greasy and gross. The burrito was like an insanely spicy uncooked vegetable wrap, so strange.

Nice people, pretty good easy Mexican fare. Outdoor seating and you can get wide selection of beer/cocktails from Kips nxt door. Slow cooked beef tacos are pretty delish. Def worth checking out.

This little hut is on the west end of Glacier NP in St. Mary, Montana. It is kind of in an alley next to a larger bar. You will need to park at the bar and walk across to the platform. There are a few different options in this area for food if you are tired of cooking on the camp fire, but my wife and I were in the mood for something with some spice. The staff were all young locals - friendly, but kind of apathetic. They were all outside smoking when we got there.. it was a slow night, surprising given all of the rain in the area making it harder to cook at camp. The menu is somewhat small, but has all of the essentials. You do not get any sort of complimentary chips and salsa - that will run you $4. That's kind of disappointing since they are not that good - over fried with supermarket cheese spread. I can't speak for any salsa, since we got the nachos and cheese. The food was OK. We've had better, and definitely had worse. It had a good amount of spice to it, which we like, but not a lot of flavor otherwise. I'm not to sure on the cooking methods. We could hear the microwave running quite a bit from our table outside. The real reason this place didn't get higher stars was the pricing. I know this is a tiny town on the outside of a national park where gas is $0.50/gallon higher than the surrounding towns, but it will run you over $10 for a can of soda and a burrito with no chips or other sides. That is really high, in my opinion. We would stop in again if the prices were a bit lower.

Like what everyone has already said...loooooong wait!! 1.5 hour for a Taco salad. No remorse from the servers either when you inquire about the slow service.

Not as bad as I expected!! Though it's on an Indian reservation, these are Mexican-style tacos...not those puffy, disgusting Indian abominations. My sister and I shared a burrito and some fried avocado tacos, and everything was fine. Kinda bland, but we had some leftover hot sauce packets from Taco John's to spice it up. And for the price, it really wasn't bad. We took our food to go, but the outdoor patio looked pretty cute and funky to hang out on...so in retrospect it might have been more fun to eat in.

Bad Frog Cantina has proved to be a disappointment. After ordering our food, we were forced to wait for approximately 1.5 hours to receive a mediocre, at best, meal. Many paying customers around us were also waiting long periods of time to receive their meal, some leaving because their meals took too long to arrive. Asking the staff questions about how long the food would take was ineffective, as the staff did not seem apologetic at all, refusing to directly answer the question.

We waited 15 minutes for someone to greet us at our table. Twice we went to the stand to ask if someone could come and they told us they were coming soon. It was 4pm and there were two other tables. After we finally ordered, it took 45 minutes for our 4 orders to come. Again, only two other tables were there. Perhaps the cook was taking a siesta? The Mojave Desert has more moisture than the burrito I was served. I asked for sour cream to get the log to slide down my throat and had to wait another 10 minutes for that while my burrito got cold. The tables were sticky, the bathrooms were gross and without soap. How does the cook wash his hands with no soap? This place is a skip.

This place was absolutely terrible! We waited an hour and a half for a couple burritos. The service was the worst ever! Please do not spend your money here you will regret it!!!!

Omg this was an amazing surprise after a long day hiking. My vegan son got the fried avocado burrito without cheese. My gf wife had tacos. The margaritas were tasty. The food was reasonably priced and there was plenty of it. There was live music too! It's the perfect place to chill after a day in GNP

This place was absolutely terrible. I had an appetizer called "Snachos" described as tater tot nachos. What came out was a paper bowl of tater tots covered in nacho liquid cheese with nothing else. This might be one of the nastier things I have eaten in my life. Use some real cheese, put some olives, jalapenos, beans, whatever on there. Yuck! My "hard" chicken tacos were incredibly bland. If I concentrated really, really hard, I could tell that maybe a tiny bit of seasoning had been put on the meat. I had better leftover chicken in the cooler in my car, why the hell did I eat here? Also, the "hard" taco shell was very stale, and soft corn tortillas weren't available. The kids that work here seem nice enough, but if you aren't Mexican (they are not), then don't make Mexican food, make something you know well. Also, "nacho cheese" is an invention by either 7-11 or Taco Bell for their crappy nachos. It has no place in a restaurant, and it is best served piping hot in a small cup on the side (piping hot so you can't really taste it, and so it doesn't solidify, and on the side so you don't burn your hands on it). To make nachos: 1. Put some chips on a plate. 2. Cover those chips with REAL cheese. 3. Put another layer of chips over the first layer. 4. Put more cheese on. 5. Bake (convection works well) until cheese melts. 6. Top with beans, olives, tomatoes, and meat. 7. Serve with salsa, guac, and sour cream on the side. Someone who can't pull that off shouldn't be making Mexican food.

Pros: Best place to eat in st Mary area near the east glacier area. I had their burrito, it was amazing, chicken in burrito was salty but I like salty food so did t have any issue It was very tasty and spicy compared to the burgers and fries kind of food you get in most places near the park. Cons: It's more like food truck kind of place. Quick place to eat. So if u r looking for some place to relax and eat, sit indoors then maybe this won't be suitable for you.

They need to take the word Frog out of their title. This place is just plain BAD! The homemade fresh salsa daily delivered to our table for $4 was a jar of Pace (or generic) picante sauce. When we specifically asked, they admitted to it and gave us a refund. My husband and I ordered the Indian tacos...one beef and one chicken. The beef is canned chili. Who knows what the chicken was...but I got both canned chili and chicken since they got my order wrong and must have just wiped the items off of the top of the frybread, left a layer of chili, and then dumped on new contents with the terrible tasting (supposedly) chicken. There was no reason for our order to be wrong either. The only other people there already had their order and 4 people were "working". Seriously... go to the grocery store, buy some bread, add on some canned chili and shredded generic cheese. It'll be loads better than this abysmal place.

Damn delicious burrito and excellent salsa. Cute little patio atmosphere. Quick and easy. Definitely our choice next time!!

Food was very good. I had the burrito with fried avocados instead of meat and it was delicious. Definitely on the hot side of things with the pepper in it but that was okay with me. With the two varieties of salsas that came with the burrito it was delicious when all put together. I thought maybe it could have used a touch more salt in the ingredients but all in all I very much enjoyed my meal. The only reason for the docking of one star is that my partner and I brought our dog to wait with us in line. One of us accidentally stepped on his foot causing him to Yelp which then caused the worker in the kitchen to come to the front in a huff saying "If that happens again you'll have to leave. If anything happens we can't be responsible for it.". My partner and I were confused and chalked their response up to not really even knowing what had just happened with our dog and them probably assuming he was being aggressive towards someone or something like that. Anyway it seemed uncalled for and shook us up from what was otherwise a very pleasant experience. By the way- there was live music in the form of a musician singing and playing guitar by the seating area. Very nice!

We went on Sunday, 7/12/2015. I got the chicken Indian taco and my fiance got a burrito. We also split an order of chips & salsa. I don't know why someone else said the salsa was just a can of Pace. It was actually really fresh, delicious, and it had a surprisingly nice heat to it, with plenty of fresh veggies in it. The Indian taco I had was filling and tasty. It definitely did not taste like canned chili. The shredded chicken was tender. The veggies tasted fresh. Fiance was super happy with his burrito. Going to guess that the "Pace picante" lady threw nine kinds of hell and they agreed with/refunded her to get her to go away as it seems to be teenagers working the front. Anyways, we tried this place as we were driving through St. Mary's after the park. Neither of us wanted to go to Curly Bear as it looked fairly generic and touristy. We're both huge fans of dive places and we certainly weren't disappointed. I'm not going to say it's the best Mexican I've ever had, but I would happily eat there again!

Very impressed with the Bad Frog Cantina. Contrary to the reviews from years ago, this restaurant has excellent service and enjoyable appetizers and entrees. Being from Texas I can say that I was impressed and would recommend this place to anyone looking for good Tex-Mex food.

I'm not sure why the bad reviews for this place. I'm from San Antonio, TX and we had a dual family trip up here to Glacier and decided to stop in for some Tex-Mex. we left here with 12 happy Texans. The salsa was fresh and amazing, the snachos were so good. I recommend the shredded beef burrito fried. Stop by have a great lunch and or dinner.

Stopped here on the way back from Glacier National Park. The staff were very friendly and the restaurant has a nice outdoor patio that was great on this sunny day. Contrary to the reviews below, we thought the food was decent. It's not real Mexican but for a roadside Tex-Mex grill, it wasn't bad. I would have given them 4 stars until I went to the bathroom; the men's room was under construction so i used the women's room, which was really gross. When I flushed the toilet I heard a noise of water rushing outside, looked out the back and was shocked to see raw sewage from the toilet pouring out of a pipe right onto the back lawn. Gross.

We, 7 of us, loved this little spot of outdoor dining (only). We were there late July 2014. The service was a little slow being one young man out front and one in the kitchen but there were every nice. The prices were under $10. We got their fresh salsa and chips, burritos and different items and no one complained about the taste. It all seemed fresh. Now if you want a beer they will run over to the bar and get you one. We did park in the gravel parking lot of the bar. The cantina is located behind a run down mini golf which apparently if you really want to play the cantina will set you up. Saint Mary's Montana doesn't have a lot going on but if you like reasonably price dives go for it. Remember where you are and enjoy the moment.

This place was absolutely awful. They were out of beans, avocado, and chili, the staples of a mexican restaurant. The food made me sicker than I have ever been, and made me throw up everywhere. The girl at the counter was very rude, and laughed in the face of the customer in front of us when she told her she didn't eat meat and was looking for something with beans for protein. She messed up our order. The nachos came out with literally chips and tomatoes..nothing else and they charged $7 for that, I would have been better off going to the supermarket down the road and making dinner for myself, little did i know at the time. I've never seen a place so unorganized and dirty. The food took over 30 minutes to come out, which i could understand if the place was busy but it wasn't at the time. The only positive thing I can say about this place is that the man cleaning up or dishes when we were finished was great, he was friendly, inviting and hardworking unlike the rest of the staff. I would never suggest anyone goes here unless you are just looking for chips and salsa. The pizza place next door was awesome go there instead!

Just don't. Aside from them being illegal serving hard liquor with only a beer license, the food is questionable at best. The salsa was the most palatable thing served. Everything else shared the same theme of overcooked and dry. Overpriced thrown together slop.

Just in town to do some hiking. Wanted to find a place for a Margarita. Hot night great drink and fun outside music. After salsa and chips ( and a second Margarita ) the chicken burrito was ordered. Great, spicy, big and a bargain. After Pacificios and Coronas, the sun is setting and and so am I. But had a great time.

Ordered fried avocado tacos. Tasted really good and the chips & salsa were excellent! Kind of a long wait, but good service. Overall a good experience and would definitely come back.

Terrible Mexican outside the St. Mary's gate at Glacier National Park. The food took more than 30 minutes to arrive with about 10 parties waiting. They let us order without knowing what they did not have. My nachos had no jalapeños. My friend who does not eat red meat was given ground beef tacos and could not send them back. My burrito was missing several ingredients from the description. Do not go to this place. I recommend theTwo Sisters café up the road or the pizza place next-door.
