From Russia With Love

It was my fisrt time trying Russian food. And I am really in love of the food. I was really impressed for all the amazing flavors and great continuation of the food. The cabbage with lime was amazing and don't forgetting the potatoes. I will be back.

Because of Covid-19 this Washingtonian was in Newberg getting a haircut (great cut!). I saw this place and called and asked if they spoke Russian; they said facetiously "a little." Well? Food is TREMENDOUS and the coffee drinks are as good as Starbucks and much cheaper - and no sales tax of course in Oregon. The girl who worked the place was helpful and VERY business-like. I'll take it! Better than not knowing anything, like so many young people. The vegetable sides are too small but given the quality and huge portions and scarcity of authentic Russian food...and cheerful welcoming frontage, they get a 5!

We go there for iced chai (best around) and lattes. Quick service and the drinks are always very good. Reasonable prices.

It took a little bit of time to get our order. But that’s only because it’s made to order as you are waiting for it. The coffee is great and I am having the fat Russian Piroshky. It’s delicious well worth the wait!

Updated review: It's been a little while since I have gone. And there are some changes I was disappointed to see. I always get the same thing, but now the salad appears to have gone from a bigger Styrofoam to a very small container. I am still paying the same price but for way less. Sorry, but you lost me! Old review: I have been going here for years. Love you guys. Love the food

This is true hidden gem. The espresso drinks might be nothing special, but their fried hand pies are just incredible! Plus their side salads are absolutely top-notch. Great place to grab lunch on the run.

Every time I go to Newberg veterinary hospital I make sure I take time to get borscht here! They have sandwiches and coffee. It's awesome!

Ordered: Fat Russian, Strawberry Pastry, and a Hummer (coffee: white chocolate and chocolate) The coffee is delicious.

I was in Newberg on some business, and I drove by From Russia With Love. It looks like a coffee stand, maybe a little larger. I had heard some vegan friends mention it, so decided to give it a try. I got Kalli's fave, a golden pastry filled with seasoned potatoes. A side of the cabbage and cucumber salad, which complimented the savory pastry! The potato pastry was piping hot, and I pulled over in a parking spot to enjoy while it was fresh and hot! I got the vegan option and the person that took my order knew exactly what I should order that was vegan. I also got a coffee with a dairy alternative.There weren't a lot of vegan options, but I would order Kalli's fav again in a heartbeat!

I drive past this place multiple times a week and have never given it a shot. I was really surprised when I learned they were actually more than just a coffee spot. The blended coffee I got was one of the best I have ever had and the fried pastries (I got a Mary's and a fruit Gracie) were really good. The potato Pelmeni was okay, according to the rest of my family, but nothing special. The salads, especially the cabbage one, was a hit with everyone and made us want more. The main issue this place suffers from is value. 18$ for a pastry and 2 bites of a cabbage salad and 3 bites of a cucumber tomato salad (If you can see Angela's review below this one, the amount of salad they gave was about 1/3 the size of each in the picture below). At 12$ a person this would be a wonderful meal and I would 100% be going back, but at 18$ a person I walked away feeling robbed. If I ever come back, It will mostly just be for a coffee.

The food is wonderful. I ordered an apple, it was very tasty. The atmosphere is very nice. There are different options, both vegetarian and regular. different types of drinks, a large selection makes your eyes widen

I love this place! It's a Russian spot serving coffee and piroshkis, both savory and sweet. I've been a couple of times and will keep going back for the food. You can't go wrong with fried dough filled with meats and cheeses and veggies! They have several different ones to choose from ranging from breakfast options with eggs, potatoes, and bacon, sausage, and ham to dinner options with chicken, bacon, and cream sauce. There is something for everyone. The ladies that are working here are so sweet and helpful. I've had one with steak, provolone and peppers and onions and let me tell you... it's so rich and delicious and so big! Half of one is plenty, but you'll want to eat the whole thing! They have sweet piroshkis filled with lemon and cream, or raspberry and cream and a couple of other options. Think large lemon and cream filled donut! I've not tried the coffee because I don't drink it, but I'm sure it's epic like everything else here! Make a stop, you won't regret it!

Food is always good, one time my dough wasn't cooked through but I Cooked it through at home. My biggest complaint is I can never find the description of the food items anywhere online, what's a "Mary's" without having a description? When I do go to the drive thru the prices aren't readable and the menu items are crossed out with tape. For a place that does so well in Newberg, the owners should really spend the extra money to update their menu in the drive thru and online. Especially if I'm paying a premium for some good food.

Hmmmm, from all the five star reviews, I obviously ordered the wrong thing. After driving by this little red caboose-like structure for years (it always reminded me of a train), we finally stopped to see what it was all about. Love that it's drive up and wait time is minimal. The menu is a tad difficult to understand. The photo menu has some delicious looking pirozhki but there is no description of what is inside. It's also pretty funny there's a "To Go Orders" on the menu since it's all To Go, right? OK, there is a picnic table and a small cement bench on the property. I was there for the dumplings, or the pelmeni. Considered the national dish of Russia - Siberian to be exact - they are typically made with a thin, pasta-like dough filled with minced meat and shaped like a tortellini. Pelmeni to Russians is what tortellini is to Italians. As it turns out, pelmeni take about an hour and a half to actually make fresh and the woman at the window said all she had left was frozen pelmeni, specifically the mashed potato, no meat that day for some reason. Well, frozen pelmeni was better than no pelmeni, so we decided to share an order ($10) since it looked like you got about 15 of them. Another thing to note is that pelmeni are typically served alone, slathered in butter and topped with sour cream, or in a soup broth. Our order was accompanied by a tomato cucumber salad and shredded cabbage on the side, along with a two ounce container of sour cream. Definitely needed more sour cream! From Russia with Love is heavy on espresso and other coffee drinks if that's your thing. Lattes, cappuccinos, mochas, Americanos, as well as various frozen and blended concoctions. Prices are pretty competitive with the other coffee places in the area. From Russia with Love is worth a try, I promise to go back and try the pirozhki.

First, you come here for the coffee. It's the best most non-bitter coffee around. Hell, I drive up and over a hill and back just to get my caffeine fix from here. Second, you are surprised at how good their food is. Sure, it slows the line a bit while things cook but you can order ahead of time to make it more speedy. I ordered the regular size Fat Russian. Delicious and HUGE. Next time I'll go with the mini. Trust me, this is your favorite drive through coffee place

Food was amazing. I had the Fat Russian and was amazing. The snickers cappuccino was full of the right flavors. The daughter did a great job of recommending food too. For a drive thru experience I was very impressed.

I've driven by countless times and finally stopped to try. The beef pelmeni were great, on par with those from a Russian deli I frequent; they made a good road snack. The piroshki without meat tasted like a mashed potato sandwich, it was good, but I'd opt for bacon or sausage next time. The mini sized is very ample and considering you get a yummy side salad, it's a great value. The gal in the Russian garb was nice, we had to park in a waiting area and wait for the food. Not your regular coffee cart that's for sure.

Thank you Russia!! The gal wasn't super fast but this isn't exactly fast food. She was very pleasant and food was great. Recommend eating here. Great to go food.

Very yummy, I wish we had one of these in Salem. Even though food carts are becoming more popular here, there aren't a lot of unique choices and I think this type of offering would be a big success. I got a breakfast item and it was delicious. Also, enormous. The coffee had a good flavor, but was a bit too sweet. The parking lot was a bit confusing. Would I come here again? Absolutely.

This place is cool. Based on Yelp reviews and pictures, we stopped by for breakfast. It was a little misty outside, so it was nice only having the option for drive-thru service. We didn't have to get wet. After some small talk and based on advice from the employee, we ordered the Fat Russian. The house we rented was only minutes away, so the plan was just to take it to go. The nice staff member told us it would take roughly around 10 minutes. So, we waited. Almost to the dot, the food was ready and we went home. When I opened the bag and the wrapper, there should have been accompanying music to go along with this masterpiece. Maybe some drums. Anyway, when I saw this monstrosity of a sandwich/pie/whatever it's called, my expectation level immediately shot up. This thing had serious potential. I got a knife, cut this bad boy into several pieces and took the first bite. Again, wish there was music to go along with this. The food was awesome. Seriously. Is it healthy? No. Is it greasy? Yes. Is it worth it? Of course. If I make it back to this area, I will definitely be back.

Food is very bad service is even worse. Coffee is worst in Oregon. Stay away from them

This is a fun place to have nearby! I don't know of many other Russian food spots around here. Tried for the first time today and we both really liked it. Went to the walk-up side and then sat at a nearby table in the grass. We started with beverages, my husband ordered a mango smoothie and I got an almond milk mocha. Both were great and I love all the smoothie and coffee options! I would come back even just for that. On to the savory Piroshkys - I got the Boo's Love with ground beef, onions, mushrooms, peppers and basmati rice. I really enjoyed this. The regular size is HUGE so I will be ordering a mini next time! Husband got the Mary's, with chicken bacon and cheese and he liked that one too! It was really gooey and cheesy and good. They are fried but weren't greasy. Their other Piroshkys look great, along with more menu items that seemed really interesting so we will definitely be back to try them!

This place has the best customer service! I'm vegan and the man at the order window made me chai tea from scratch! The Kalli Special can be made vegan!! It was amazing ! The salads that come in the combo are so yummy! This place is the best!

It's the little things that make or break a restaurant. Went twice. Ordered the special sauce to go with the pirogue. Paid extra for them. They never made it into the bag. Incomplete orders are frustrating. It's not like you're going to spend a half hour driving there and back to pick them up. I'm not sure they get a third chance.

This is a drive through coffee place that has kick a$$ food. It takes a little while but it's worth the wait.

Make sure to bring your appetite. Got the Alexander and a coffee - it was a mammoth of a piroshki breakfast Sandwich. Absolutely delicious. Staff were very friendly and chatted with me while I waited. Reasonably priced with good portions. I highly recommend this place.

Excellent menu. Excellent food and friendly staff. Great coffee and tea drinks too! Its our favorite place in Newberg. We live aways but totally worth the drive. Breakfast AND lunch ate amazingly good.

Great little spot. They have great drinks from coffee to teas and smoothies. We really enjoy their Angel kiss and their Chai Late. They also have food that we have gotten that we've enjoy as well.

Not the healthiest but great comfort food and good coffee!! The Ladies need to smile a little they seem unhappy to work there. My 4 stars are for the food not the employees.

Holy Cow, the Mos-Cow, which was Philly steak in a Russian Bread Calzone thing was really good. A very meaty meal. The bread was almost like fried donut bread, though it was perfectly done, not overdone like some donut places.

Great food and very nice staff. The Borscht and fried bread are authentic. Gracies pastries are over the top! Ordered one of each pastrie flavor for a house party. People loved them!

WORST SERVICE EVER 1/12/2022. Will never return to this establishment. Have stopped here a few times in the past on our to the coast. Today's experience was one of the worst I've had in many years. Arrive at drive through around 4:30pm with two cars in front of me. I finally get to the window, no cars behind me. It is now 4:50 and the woman says "we are closing. I'm not serving food. If you want a drink I can do that". No apologies, no niceties. She could care less that I had been sitting there for 20 minutes. "You couldn't have told me that while I sat there all this time?" No answer. Car in front of me got food. Will never go back. Avoid at all costs.

Excellent for a take out/coffee shop. We tried the pelmeni which were little pillows of yum. Nice dipping sauce too. We tried the special corn beef sandwich- delish! Loved the cabbage slaw and the cucumber salad fresh and tasty. Boo's favorite was my favorite, along with excellent coffee. Cheerful help as well. I will definitely be back

Great service, friendly people, great tasting drinks! Fruit smoothies taste natural and their coffee based blended drinks don't taste like they have the same base as other coffee shops use. Good food- I have only tried one of their items, the "Fat Russian". Best menu on the item! Breakfast and lunch item!

The recommended peroshki of choice is the 'mos-cow' - akin to a cheesteak meatpie - a giant $9.75 gut-bomb of juicy beef, onions, peppers, and a touch of swiss cheese. Super filling. Run by nice but clueless kids. This is a drive-in and order at the window. No seating.

I moved here 8 months and was desperate for a smoothie, while I unpacked. We went, we ordered, and we fell head over heels in love. Then a few months later, staff changed, they were new and had all the struggles of being new, but no masks, or gloves. I was wearing a mask, however, have to take it off to eat. This was the first time the service and the attitude was horrific. Stayed away for a bit. Came back still no masks, I'm vaccinated but....I want to support this business, regardless of their hate mongering stickers for which I'm unsure of who placed them, but I think Ill wait.

Food card in the middle of nowhere that has amazing potato and meat and love based food. I was sadder than sad when it was closed last time we passed. The warm fruit kolaches are worth the wait and are to die for. Just wish they were open Sunday.

We waited in line after riding bikes for 65 miles. They were still open when we got in line and "open" sign was lit. Five minutes of waiting for them to serve the customer in front of us, we were told they were closed, because it was 6:00, and they were not making any more drinks. Bad business practice. We just wanted iced coffee and treats.

Staff was not wearing masks, gloves, or any other PPE. The server who took our order & prepared our drinks did not have a mask on during the entire interaction. Going through their drive-through required us to be much closer than 6 feet, and we were very put off by the server's disregard for standard COVID safety protocol. Will not be going back ever.

It is a little coffee house across from Providence . I went by after reading all these fantastic reviews on yelp. I ordered a Russian beef pie that was fantastic. I do recommend their russian cabbage. I could have eaten 4 servings of that. The cucumber salad was not as good and the sauces were too salty-but that is just my taste. I am glad this place is 10 miles from my house or I would eat here almost every day! No indoor seating. You park your car and they serve it to you. It takes 10 minutes -listen to the radio! It is well worth the wait!!

Nice place to try the Rusian food. We stopped in and ordered the Boo Love and the Mary's. Both came with the cucumber salad and cabbage. Both salads had a similar taste and were both good. The rest of the meal was fantastic. These are large enough to fill up anyone and full if flavor. The pastries were light and flaky. Very nice!

Had the best food tonight. Pelmenis with 2 different salads that was so fresh and tasty, large quantity too Totally worth the drive. My husband said he would give them 10 stars if he could and he's a chef.

All I have to say is YUMMMM!!!!! My husband & I have been serval times for breakfast!They are VERY accommodating of allergies and coffee is wonderful. We haven't had a chance to have lunch here but it's on our list as a MUST! Wonderful/personal customer service & great food!

Completely surprised by the quality in their products, really good stuff for a fair price without having to get out of your car! I also saw that they aren't afraid to display an info wars sticker in their window and for I that I applaud you! Stand up and fight back and don't be bullied by the mainstream sheep. Thank you f.r.w.l and by the way, both people working wore masks, in fact did have gloves on and you can't visibly see whare the utensils are because the window is shut and blinds are drawn. Don't let a hateful review steer you away, stop by and see for yourself

Not a single employee was wearing a mask. Seems irresponsible to not be willing to comply with these basic health and safety requirements.

5.0 take out only. They close mid-afternoon so take note. Only open for breakfast and lunch. There are a few benches and picnic tables within walking distance. A unique experience. We have no previous knowledge of Russian cuisine but we very much enjoyed what we ordered here. Hot, flavorful, and fresh. We have driven past this black and red eye catching building many times. We finally made it a priority to stop. It is located in front of a car wash right on 99W. We thought they only sold coffee but they don't. They have take out breakfast and lunches. We both ordered the Peroshki or Piroshki small hand pies/pockets with various choices of filing. We ordered one potato Kalli and one meat. Both lunches came with cabbage salad and cucumber salad. The salads were fresh and seasoned well. I would be awesome if they added additional Peroshki to the menu with more vegetarian options. I also had the white Russian coffee and Mr. Chad had the Mexi mocha. Both coffees were most excellent. 5/5 stars! I predict that this business will do very well in the next few years. Mr. Chad says that he thinks that if this food stand were in a walkable metro area location they might be able to double their business. Hope they are able to expand into bigger location with more seating options or open up a few more locations. I guess they have an additional location in Hubbard? Most excellent. We will stop there again! You should too! Loved it!

LOVE the beef pelmini and salad side dish. I bought frozen ones from russian store all the time, but far from this quality. Beef filling has great flavor and juicy, with the side salad to refresh the taste. I am chinese and I especially like dumping. This russian dumpling beats many chinese places I have ate for sure. Highly recommend!!

I've seen it on my way, and how can I pass it?))It warms my heart to see Russian food made with love near Portland, OR. I took White Russian coffee, of course, it's good. Lady wears scarf exactly as my grandma did, so beautiful So happy to eat my vegetarian pirozhok on the way to brewery

Yum, yum, yum!! We stopped in for lunch and ordered 3 Peroshkis: the Fat Russian (eggs, sausage, ham, potatoes,) the Mary (chicken, bacon, cream sauce,) and the Mos-Caw (Philly steak, Swiss, peppers, mushrooms.) My husband loved his Fat Russian and rated it at 9.5 (out of 10.) My son and I split the Mary and we both loved it. It was still warm even after our 15 min drive home, the filling was delicious and I loved the cucumber/tomato and cabbage salads. The salads were served separately in the to go box, I mixed them together and added them to my peroshki. So good!! We were all filled up. The man at the drive through window warned us that he can only eat 1/2.
