Highly recommend coming here. The lady that served us was very nice and took good care of us. She even made a couple of the blocks smaller as we were not in Paris long but wanted to get some cheese for our Eurostar ride. They had some cheese to sample. The aged Comte was outstanding. Put this place on your list.

Google
Amazing cheese varieties, got couple of fondue cheese and some compte, all rich with flavours and taste. The prices though are quite on the higher side, though it’s fine to splurge on some good cheese once in a while. Also,it seemed as though like it was focused on force selling for tourist as most of the cheeses were pre cut and already wrapped was told it’s not quite possible to get our exact portion, so you’ll have to buy bigger size more than what you were hoping to buy or get small sizes which might not be quite enough, not really convenient honesty speaking.

Google
They had one of the best cheeses I have ever tasted in my entire life from this place and I don't know the name of it! It was covered in white raisins and literally tasted like cheesecake! It was so good that you could literally eat it on its own!

Michelle Mitchell

Google
A beautiful and delicious cheese shop. Shopkeepers were amazingly helpful and explained how to enjoy the cheese.

Su Su

Google
Beautiful cheese shop, creative pairings. They will vacuum seal if you are traveling with you cheese too. It is pricey but excellent quality. I didn’t give 5 stars because the cheese is pre cut and many pieces are large (too large for 1-2 persons if you are buying multiple cheeses) You can sample some of the cheeses which is helpful before purchasing

Google
I must confess that we had one of the best shopping experiences here on our last trip to Paris. The staff was ultra friendly and helped us choosing our best cheese options, offering us small portions to try before buying. It has a great variety of cheeses that we've never dreamed about needing. We'll go there again, I'm sure. They can vacuum pack your items which means: taking them everywhere in the world is convenient enough!

Google
I want to leave a review and recommend this particular cheese shop, the service is at the highest level, they helped me solve the problem with the lack of a refrigerator, they packed the cheeses well for transportation by plane, the cheeses are extremely delicious, I will definitely visit again and buy more cheeses the next time I am in Paris

Google
The Saint Germain location of famed cheese purveyor Laurent Dubois, recognized with the honor of Meilleur Ouvrier de France (MOF), distinguishing him as one of the top producers in the industry. If you are local, you already know, but if you’re not from the area, definitely venture inside and ask for assistance from the knowledgeable staff. You can ask for samples, and if you show a real interest, they will do their best to provide entry into their fascinating world of cheese, yogurt and butter. As you walk into the shop the case to the left holds unique products created by LD, including liqueur, nut and fruit laced cheeses you won’t find elsewhere. No matter your budget, you can discover and take home some products that will raise your awareness about fine French cheeses.

Yelp
Cheese plate was a little pricey but very lovely and so worth it. Amazing variety of cheeses that i enjoyed a baguette and wine. Highly recommend!

Yelp
This is a really great cheese shop, or fromagerie. They have samples of cheese, which I haven't experienced in other places. It's next door to a famous bread place, and there's a market there some days, so you can get the cheese and enjoy it with your bread. The cheese is in all price ranges and sizes, so you can find a lot of options.

Yelp
I love this Shop.. .The ladies were so kind ..She helped me to pick what I needed. The shop was so neat

Yelp
If you're looking for unique cheeses and incredible quality, then this is the cheese shop for you. It showcases a wide range of traditional and non-traditional cheeses, which I found adventurous! I love cheese and enjoy trying new flavors, so when I saw the pesto camembert di bufala I jumped for joy. The blue cheese and apple-stuffed brie are two other favorites. You're not going to find another cheese shop like this!

Yelp
Great cheese. Loved their comte (24 month plus please). Way better than what I bought at quatrehomme and androuet. And I love that they had some little samples so you could try and figure out what you like.

Nader B.

Yelp
Great collection of cheese. Very helpful and the quality was the best I have tried anywhere Got Comte vieux and ardi g'asna both superb. This is my go to place when I go back

Yelp
Delicious little cheese shop, worth the price. I have passed by this little shop before on past visits, and decided to shell out the cash and buy some cheese. I regret the fact that I did not come here on my other visits! They had free samples yesterday, and it was a good business move. Had there not been a free sample, I would not have purchased this cheese due to the fact that the price was a higher than other cheese stores! I sampled the black truffle infused tartuffe cheese (which was 98 euro / kilo, and exclusive to this place). I bought only 15 euro worth, but whatever the price, it is worth it. When in Paris... right? I always buy cheese, baguettes, wine/champagne when in France, and I'm very glad I bought cheese from this establishment. My advice: On your next trip to Paris, come to this little cheese shop, buy a chunk (or more) of cheese, pick up a good bottle of wine(s) and/or champagne(s) and treat yo' self. Bonjour! Laurent Dubois - A'la prochaines!

Yelp
Quite possibly the best cheese in the world I spent good money on good cheese and I actually brought some back home to the states! For whatever reason security did not confiscate it even though it was in my bag at the airport however security did take my foie gras. I did not hide the cheese. The last couple of days me and my roommate have been enjoying this amazing cheese! I don't know what I got it was all amazing and the shop they let you taste whatever you want and that's basically how I picked my cheese's. I highly recommend this cheese shop which is open regularly and there's a market in front of it sometimes that's pretty cool too.

Yelp
The delightfully friendly and helpful staff here helped us pick out a few cheeses for our train trip to Nice. We chose a 24 month aged comte, a yuzu chevre and a lovely, fruity brie. They wrapped them all up and even vacuum packed them for us. Trying to pick a favorite cheese would be like trying to pick a favorite child. They're all magnificent in their own way. I only wish I had the opportunity to sample more. Do stop by if you're in the area. It was definitely a highlight of our trip.

Yelp
I always stop by here on my last days in Paris to take home packaged cheeses and butter. Everyone who works here speaks great English and is super knowledgeable on the items. While prices are high, quality is only the best. You can't go wrong with anything here and I highly recommend visiting before you leave. Tip - be careful with packing the butter in your hand luggage. We left from Brussels airport and they said we would not be able to go through security without it.
google avatar

Alesa W.

Yelp
They were extremely helpful with picking out cheeses based on my interests: one to take home to the states, and one to enjoy slathered over some baguette. They spoke great English, and vacuum sealed the cheese I wanted to take home. I'm also not ashamed to say that the cheese they recommended I try while I was in Paris...I ate the entire thing by myself!

Yelp
We were in Paris for only 3 days so of course we had to do a picnic by the Eiffel Tower as touristy bucket-list items. Laurent Dubois is conveniently located right outside of the Maubert - Mutualité metro. It's also next to a wine shop and a boulangerie, so you can pick up everything you need for a fantastic picnic here. There are dozens of cheeses at LD, but unfortunately you cannot sample through everything and the sales reps are not all fluent in English (so practice your cheese French before you come!) We settled on 3 cheeses - the camembert (cow's milk cheese), the crottin fermier (goat cheese), and the cantal fermier (cow's milk cheese). The three paired well with each other as the crottin fermier was basically butter and sooo gooey but neutral in terms of flavor. The light camembert was slightly denser, but still creamy and fruity while the cantal fermier peppery and hard. Our favorite was the cantal fermier because it had 4-5 different notes and was the most exciting. The three cheeses were sufficient for lunch and came out to ~15 euros.

Yelp
When it comes to wine and cheese, my friends think of me as a snob. Here in France, I'm a total noob. I walked in to buy some some cheeses to take home and enjoy. The friendly, English-speaking man offered me some help, but really wanted to know my preferences. When I asked for his opinion, he wouldn't offer it because apparently it's all according to my opinion. But I'm a noob!!! GAH! Anyhoo, doesn't matter. I got some RIDICULOUSLY AMAZING cheese. I got one bleu cheese, one soft, and one somewhat firm. They were cow, sheep, and goat milk, respectively, and of course all unpasteurized. I bought enough for 5-6 people (that two of us devoured), and it was still only about 20£. I definitely recommend this shop for an legitimate experience of French cheese. There is something for everyone here, and the experts will make sure you leave happy. If necessary, you can request them to vacuum seal it for travel.

Yelp
Fromage!!! We were introduced to Laurent Dubois through a food tour lead by Paris By Mouth. So many cheeses -- so little time. We picked up some 40 month aged comte and some brie for a picnic. Incredible. You just can't get cheese like this in the US. Friendly, helpful and multi-lingual staff.
google avatar

Ami P.

Yelp
Cheese cheese and more cheese!!! If you're a cheese lover, this place cannot be missed on your list! They have a variety of cheeses from soft triple cream cheeses to the heartiest of cheeses. Those who are traveling and interested in taking some home are in luck because they will even vacuum seal it for you.

Yelp
Their people, as others have noted are great. There are usually quite a few of them and the variety of interaction possibilities and the entertainment value of watching other customers sample and buy makes going here more than a cheese errand. All their cheese, as far as my expertise can tell from that which I have consumed, is top of the line, but their fromage blanc is irreplaceable. Finally, this little island of culture shares its location with a wine shop, a boulangerie, a charcuterie, a boucherie and my favorite poissonnerie and a produce store. If one has a big enough sac and strong enough back, one can do classic one stop shopping. There is also a periodic market day there. I think the days are Tuesday, Thursday and - I know for sure - Saturday. At those markets I have seen blue grass bands, baby pigs, baby goats, a guy in a wheelchair who looks as if he came off the cover of Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band - he' a long term regular - and, once, a convocation of Christian Youth. I didn't hold the latter against the venue. Nobody can be perfect. Anyway, the fromagerie is great and the location transcendant.

Yelp
Best butter and great cheese selections. Well deserved MOF. Service was great but a bit overwhelming for the inexperienced cheese lover. I'm not sure what I was looking. I ended up going with a small bri-like cheese with my vacuum sealed butter. I ate the cheese with a baguette and fois gras I purchased elsewhere and it was phenomenal! Go in with some experience with different cheeses. Will be back to check out other options.

Yelp
DO YOU LIKE CHEESE!?!? Okay, if you don't, you're a monster and we can't be friends. So if we're still friends... and you're in Paris... you need to go here. Not only is it conveniently located next to a bakery and a wine shop (ahem, picnic time), but it also has such a crazy good selection of cheeses. You can literally find anything you'd ever want, and then about 20 versions of that thing. NOM.

Yelp
Paris isn't just about the site seeing. It's about the food tasting and just being amazed by the variety of things around. If you come to Paris and didn't allot time or money to food, you have failed. You have seen only maybe a 1/10 of what you should be experiencing in the city of lights. I was looking for a cheese shop, or fromager, that would give me the ultimate experience for cheeses. I searched by google, by yelp and by a host of other methods and they all pointed me to Laurent Dubois. An unassuming little store situated right outside the metro stop, this fromager has all the cheese you can think of plus more. I know pretty much only the cheese that are available to me in the US which is like 2 kinds so I really needed a lesson in what cheeses to get. Don't speak French? No problem. Just tell the what you are looking for and they can help you out. But if you do speak French, you'll be an advantage as they describe every little detail to you. It's not even just the number of cheeses but it's the way that they are displayed; like little museum pieces not to be disturbed by the harsh light. They weren't terribly busy but they did have a few tourists coming through obviously found the same sources that I did. What's great is exactly what other Yelpers have mentioned previously and that is they are located next to a boulangerie (bakery) so you can pick up fresh bread to go with it. So anyways, I picked up 4 cheeses. 3 I told them to pick and 1 was the Roquefort which was recommended multiple times here by Yelpers. Beware of the Roquefort puissant because it is STRONG as the name implies. Absolutely delicious from all different aspects but pungent in smell and taste. It will make your entire hotel room smell. But ohh the taste. You have to spread it on bread and not too generously because you'll overwhelm your taste buds. If you're not as keen on the strong stuff, they have a lighter version of the Roquefort. We also got a camembert which was one of the most delightfully lightest camembert's I have ever tasted. We were also recommended the perladon fermier and the compte which I haven't tried yet but am told are "must trys." Even if you're not big into cheeses, this is a place to visit just to marvel at all the different things here. They also can vacuum seal your cheeses to help improve the chance that you can take it through customs. You'll have better luck with the hard cheeses than the soft/liquid ones. Go here at the beginning of your trip so that you can enjoy it as snacks for the rest of the week!

Yelp
Laurent Dubois takes cheese shopping to a whole new level. I understand why this is a Meilleur Ouvrier de France (winner of a competition for the best craftsmen of France). Staff is professional, knowledgeable, helpful. The gentleman who helped us gave us excellent advice on which cheeses to match with our food for a picnic. We got some Crottin and some Comte. The cheese was excellent. And reasonably priced. I wish I lived in Paris so that I could buy all my cheese from Laurent Dubois. I'd give more than 5 stars if I could.
google avatar

Yelp
One of my favorite spot. I order cheese from here every time I am in Paris. Yes I have compared many other places and I still come here no matter how expensive they can be. We always ordered a lot and make sure we shrink wrapped some for home. LOVE this place
google avatar

Yelp
I love breathing in the wonderfully pungent smell of cheeses when I walk in a fromagerie, but like a friend said, if you didn't know that was the smell of cheese, you'd be pretty grossed out. Fromagerie Laurent Dubois opens out onto the street and has a neat, sparse selection of cheeses that makes choosing just a little bit easier. Fromagerie LD caught my eye when I saw a splattering of colors across the street. What were colors doing in cheeses? To my surprise, they actually incorporate different things into their cheeses with excellent taste: Brie with walnuts, goat cheese with quince, another goat cheese with honey and pistachios ... oh my. My mouth watered at the idea, but I resisted and only got one cheese: a smooth, buttery Brie de Melun. The cheese was incredibly delicious (and went extremely well with a baguette de tradition, bien cuite, from the Moisan boulangerie next door). I also received EXCELLENT service; she helped me find what I was looking for (I couldn't remember if I wanted Melun or Meaux) and she was friendly and easy to talk to. Apparently her favorite is the Brie with walnuts. I'm definitely coming back again. :) Also, this fromagerie is within walking distance of Notre-Dame, so you can enjoy a very nice picnic by the Seine after picking up some food on this lovely block. (There's a boucherie and a charcuterie right next door. I know, unbelievable).

MIchael J.

Yelp
Fantasique! A wonderful cheese shop. Filled with consistent local customers and smart tourists alike. Wine on the right, baguettes to the right, really you can't go wrong here. Expensive, no. Costly, perhaps. Worth every euro.
google avatar

Jenny H.

Yelp
Great, award-winning cheese shop! It's right next to a bakery (lots of people would buy a baguette and stuff their nose into it, smelling it walking away) and a meat shop so it's really a one-stop eating area! Plus they have a farmer's market in front so it's great to check out. We got two cheeses here, one hard (Comte 2013 Fruitiere des Majors) and one soft (Fougerus). The hard cheese tasted like a fruity parmesan, and the soft cheese had a very mild, woodsy flavor- very good. We tried a third which we really liked but didn't buy (Sable de Wissant). Getting any of these would be a good choice. Most of the hard cheeses they can cut as small as you want, while the soft cheeses you have to get the entire wheel or half a wheel. Friendly service, and they have tons of samples so you can make a good decision!
google avatar

Victor F.

Yelp
This is a great place to stop and try cheese when you are in Paris. They have knowledgeable staff who did a great job of helping me choose the cheese I would like. Once selected, they wrapped everything up for me and gave me directions on how to keep it most fresh. They even gave me a great recommendation for a baker where I could get some great crossiant and baguette. They also sell bordier butter which is amazing, and I would highly recommend to anyone who has the opportunity to try it.
google avatar

Colin D.

Yelp
I love cheese, especially French cheese, and this place has it in spades and friendly staff that will help you figure out what you actually want. So far, this trip, I've had a lightly blue brie that was out of this world, comté that was both approachable and delicious, camembert that you literally spooned out onto bread and was amazing, and a triple cream brie that I've yet to break into. That's three for three that I've tried and I'm expecting to not be disappointed by anything else.
google avatar

Att A.

Yelp
With a cheese MOF-awarded artisan so close to our Parisian base, how can I not pop in. There are varying local cow, goat and sheep cheese with friendly fromagers helping customers (in English) out. I bought a 24 months aged Comte, a smoked Brie like cheese, butter and a sheep cheese called petite bee ( French for "baaaa")
google avatar

Sam S.

Yelp
This place is a cheese lovers heaven. We tried three cheeses from this place and they were just divine. An artisan Roquefort, a small production brie and a runny goats cheese that was out of this world. Would happily go back here anytime. There is a wonderful bakery next door and an excellent wine shop on the other side. Bread, cheese and wine in Paris at reasonable prices. What more can one want ?? ;-))
google avatar

Emily C.

Yelp
Needed to get some cheese for my buddy back home, and I finally stumbled upon this after coming out of Patrick Roger. Super friendly here and some of the staff speaks English. They will ask you what you want and how much of it you want. I was able to get a slice of Brie from a huge chunk of it and some Camembert. They will explain what the differences are in some of the cheeses. A quick and easy buy and you're on your way.
google avatar

Julio G.

Yelp
Excellent cheese shop right when you get off the Metro station. They vacuumed sealed a few cheeses for me to bring back to the states and the prices were phenomenal. I highly recommend!!
google avatar

Manish B.

Yelp
Superb shop, excellent staff and recommendation. First stop when I come to Paris again. The wine shop next door was also good. Got the Demi Camembert which I was told to pair with the baguette. And sampled a few cheeses before settling for a goat cheese bonde de gatine. It was overall a very good experience gastronomique!
google avatar

Alyssa H.

Yelp
This was the absolute highlight of our Paris trip. Such good cheese, incredibly cute shop, and such friendly helpful staff (in English too). Get a baguette before and then there is a wine shop next door and you're set! Prices very, but they aren't trying to up sell you.
google avatar

Ryan H.

Yelp
Incredible selection! Very friendly and helpful staff. Special thanks to Alexandre! I'd recommend stopping here just before your trip home and stocking up on vacuum-packed cheeses -- your loved ones will thank you!
google avatar

Katie G.

Yelp
Amazing cheese shop. Best cheese I have ever had. Get the smelly cheese. Just do it! And do NOT buy your baguettes next door. Do your self a favor and walk a few blocks down to a real boulangerie for a real baguette and not someone frozen thing. My boyfriend and I picked some cheeses, a bottle of wine and some meats and it was probably the cheapest and best meal we had while in Paris. I wish we had that type of freshness here in the U.S.!
google avatar

Jonathan L.

Yelp
Incredible frommagerie! Great selection and plenty of ripe cheeses. One of the best cheese shops in Paris.
google avatar

Krystal N.

Yelp
My fiancé and I have been in Paris for a week and my only regret is that we didn't try this shop sooner. We leave tomorrow and will be stopping back here to stock up before heading out to Reims. According to reviews on TripAdvisor, this shop will vacuum pack your selections so you can transport them home! I'm an avid, if amateur cheese lover. I can't tell you the origin of the two cheeses we had, one hard and one soft. However the first class service will help you find whatever cheese would suit your taste or your occasion. We were looking for two selections for a lunch picnic in the Luxembourg gardens, we told the associate what we'd be doing and when and he selected two amazing cheeses for us. They were perfect and reasonably priced, we ended up spending 13€ with the dried figs (also highly recommended)! Don't miss this market or this shop if you're visiting Paris!
google avatar

Kenneth R.

Yelp
Paris has a number of very famous cheese shops, but I reckon that this relatively small shop in the Place Maubert stands up to the very best. This fromagerie is especially known for its cantal "entre-deux," which stands between young and aged cantal. My attitude in this store has always been to bend to the recommendations of the staff and not insist on buying cheese from any narrowly-defined category.
google avatar

Michelle S.

Yelp
Best cheese in France! A wide selection of cheeses and they will vacuum seal for you. Very friendly and helpful in selecting cheeses. You can by Bordier Butter here too. Laurent surely is a master craftsman of cheese
google avatar

Ms S.

Yelp
Probably was expecting too much from the reviews. Communicated what we wanted about midway in English and French. We got one goat and one blue inspired by Septime. Did enjoy cheese for days as blocks were huge and they wouldn't sell smaller.
google avatar

S R.

Yelp
I'm sure there are many equally good cheese shops in Paris. We visited this as it was close to Notre Dame and had great reviews & awards. Great selection of French cheese, prices were great and friendly staff. Too bad the slabs of butter were a tad too big for our needs. They looked yummy! This place also carries fresh milk. For those who live or have been to NYC don't come expecting another Murray's Cheeseshop.
google avatar

Ray S.

Yelp
I stopped here on a vacation during December 2015 and the assistance was great and an extremely wide selection for a not so big store. I would definitely stop here again if and when I get to Paris again.
google avatar

Suzanne L.

Yelp
This place is unbelievable. You can come in here with a specific cheese in mind or come with an open mind and let a staff member guide you. I can't comment on how English-friendly they are. My best experience was coming here before leaving France after a long stay and asking for two quintessentially French, impossible-to-get-in-America cheeses and boy, did they deliver. They even vacuum sealed the (extremely pungent) cheeses for me. The staff are extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic about all things cheese.

Yelp
The wife and I bought tickets through Viator for a Paris food walking tour through the Latin Quarter on a Friday morning. Our second stop on our tour took us to Fromagerie Laurent Dubois on Bd Saint-Germain across next to the Marché Maubert food market (which, unfortunately, is only open on Tues, Thurs, and Sat). Laurent Dubois is an award-winning cheesemonger having been awarded the prestigious Meilleur Ouvrier de France by the French government recognizing him for his unique skill in his craft. Who knew there was even an award for that? While Fromagerie Laurent Dubois didn't make the cheeses it sold, it curated its selection of artisanal cheeses with great care based on its producers. The shop was small, but its selection of French-made cheeses was comprehensive and high quality. No processed cheese slices here! We purchased a cross-section of cow, sheep, and goat milk cheeses (all unpasteurized), some soft and creamy, some semi-firm, and some moldy, but all delicious. Prices were reasonable and perhaps cheaper than what you'd pay for a similar cheese (using pasteurized milk) in the States. Unfortunately, I don't remember all of the names of the producers (not that it would do any good since none of them can be found in the U.S.) and varieties of cheeses we got. I love cheese. Fromagerie Laurent Dubois was a cheese-lovers paradise!

Tammy P.

Yelp
Just go. They have a truffle Savarin and hot damn I used to be annoyed by the "stick a truffle on it" mentality but if it all turned out like this... Talk to the cheesemongers to help you. Honestly the selection at Monoprix is p decent but it's helpful to know what to look for if you are not too familiar with frommage and these girls know their stuff. Luckily, when we went one was a Canadian transplant so there wasn't a language barrier.

Velina L.

Yelp
Awarded the "Meuiller Ouvrier de France", this little cheese shop in the 5th is a great place to stop by and pick up some cheese on your way back to your home country. They vacuum-pack the cheese for you so it stays fresh doesn't stink up your suitcase. I loved the beautiful selection they have of all sorts of cheeses, including those France is most known for (Comte, Brie de Meaux, etc.) and regional ones (St Marcelin, Vieux Lille...). Service is nice and they make some good recommendations, and you can tell they're very proud of the cheeses they sell. I love the location of this particular shop too, which is around the area that I usually find myself in at some point in time during my frequent visits to Paris.

Marcos V.

Yelp
Although I've seen more selection at other shops, the quality at LD is superb. Only one of the shop workers spoke English. They do not guide you to taste different cheeses to decide what you like. Practice your French be prepared to know what you want.
google avatar

Raymond L.

Yelp
Fine cheese good services with a staff that is friendly, speaks English and ready to teach, or listen. Any of the chains have the exact same perfect service.
google avatar

Miguel P.

Yelp
We stumbled upon this fromagerie after touring Notre Dame. It was excellent. Very courteous staff. Some speak English and try to help you select cheeses based on your taste and what you are planning for dinner that night. We went a second time as they also vacuum pack the cheeses, to buy some to take back home since we do not have raw milk fresh cheeses here in the states (at least not for legal sale). The selection is astonishing and it goes with the price. Both times we pent over €40. It actually is not that bad since you get several meals out of the purchase or I presume it would much less if you are just buying for a picnic. There is a wonderful bakery store within a 3 minute walk (I think it is called Kaiser), don't miss it to buy a warm baguette to eat with your cheeses or a delicious pastries

Yelp
We stayed at the Abbatial Saint Germain hotel which was luckily only a few blocks away from this Fromagerie. We stopped by 2 or 3 times to pick up different kinds of cheeses to accompany some charcuterie which we got next door (so convenient!) and a baguette just a block away from La Parisienne. They offer some samples of different cheeses and service was great! Great quality & great tasting cheeses.
