Japanese Udon in the heart of the Asian pocket of the 2nd arrondissement. Obviously not French at all but delicious.

Fun food in the First. The wine bar downstairs is walk-ins only and features excellent wines and small plates.

Le servan is so great. Fave. Don’t miss it.

A seafood and oyster bar from the Septime team. No reservations.

One of my favorite wine bars. Skip Septime and do Clamato and Septime La Cave instead.

Le rigamarole is fun except pasta which IMO takes away from the rhythm of the chef’s yakitori-focused tasting menu.

Do Sunday chicken and unlimited fries at Le Repaire de Cartouche mostly for the atmosphere and very insane wine list. Chicken is fine but place is cool.

L’Ami Jean is the most awesome bistrot.

Brutos is super fun. Actually a fun way to spend a sunday is to do a food crawl starting at Brutos and hitting Clamato, Septime la cave, and Clown Bar (this last 1 is super popular but IMO it’s a bit overhyped).

L’Avant Comptoir is amazing for snacks and drinks standing at the bar.

Breizh Cafe does awesome crepes, galettes, and ciders.

Dame Jane is fun.

Mokonuts is a terrific spot for lunch.
