Front Porch Cafe

Honestly not terrible but if you dont want seafood dont go! My husband and I do not care for seafood. He refuses to eat it and I'm not a huge fan. He ordered a regular burger and had to pay 15$ for a simple burger. I ordered swamp pasta and asked if I could have chicken instead of shrimp. I was not informed that there would be over an 8 dollar up charge for getting chicken with no shrimp. Which mind you is outrageous. So for some basic chicken Alfredo it was 22$. There was 5 of us with a baby and she checked on us to make sure our food was okay and it was. Nothing to write home about but some basic food to get us through dinner atleast. For the price 100% not worth it. We paid our bill and left. Will never be going back.

It's a nice little place.The service was very good.The potato salad was great the portions were large.

The hours here are horrible for the lack of places to eat around here they have lost so much business with the lack of open hours. Then they want to take advantage of supply and demand charging outrageous prices! May as well get quality and fresh food in the tourist areas for the same price.

My wife and I stopped in to have a bite to eat. Waitress-sit where you want! Ok not a big deal order an appetizer of onion rings they were great . Now for an entrée inquired about the 14 ounce steak market prices at 46.44. They told me it would be 55.95 so that was over priced. I ordered a burger a fries at 12.95. I had better burgers from a gas station. My fries had hair in them.

Steaks were both overcooked. Waitress was told but no discount offered except for 10% off next visit.

Wow! What a find. Cold beer and fantastic food. Start off with some Cajun Catfish Rolls, and a cold Coors light in a frosted mug. The pasta is made from scratch, mixed with your flavor of seafood, or you can have a Ribeye steak. The choices are endless, the quality is superb

Poor atmosphere I can let slide with a bathroom door that has a doorknob hole in it with no doorknob. Extremely poor quality of food for high quality price is not okay. Spending $100 on a family of 4 at a small, home-town CAFE is absurd. The menu has very few options and nobody racked their brain hard to create it. Fried pickle appetizer were extremely delicious and well cooked. Classic cheeseburger with fries was a frozen patty. Shrimp po-boy was tough to eat with over-cooked shrimp and old bread. Both kids were half done with their food before the 2 adult meals were brought. My son wouldn't even eat his fried catfish. I didn't taste it, but for a kid that gets fried fish all the time, I trust his judgment when he says it's that bad to where he couldn't eat it.

Just left from there. Once again the sauce for the angel pasta is as watery as 2% milk and the fish was dry. Prices have increased on the stuffed fish, and I think the fried pickles and mozzarella sticks too. I'm just overall disappointed. This used to be one of my favorite hometown restaurants, and I'd always get the same thing. Only reason it gets 2 stars is because service remains good. If prices are going to increase then I expect the quality of food to remain great. I have no problem stuffing my face and paying a pretty penny for it. A year ago I posted the review below and it was 5 stars. It is not the same restaurant. Wonderful atmosphere. Delicious food. Great service.

We finally made it to Front Porch Cafe. What a lovely dining experience! Front Porch is a cozy bayou-esque gem. It feels like you're pulling up to family's for dinner, which is exactly what you're doing since this is a family-owned and run establishment. We dined on a Wednesday night and were fortunate to snatch a comfy booth right by the entrance. The ambience is like a cozy covered porch with homey accents. They do have an actual front porch with outdoor seating as well for those who want to sit outside. They have a LOT of menu items. Beyond their regular menu they had plenty of interesting specials. Because I absolutely love redfish but also love shrimp and grits, I asked them to make me blackened redfish with shrimp and grits and it was no problem at all. The meal starts with a small basic salad. Then the entrees roll out and you're really in for a treat. The portions are MASSIVE and delicious. I loved my meal. The grits delicious and the two seafood portions could have been meals all on their own. My date had the steak and I tasted it and it was also very good. The prices are very fair and the service is excellent. This will be a regular in the rotation going forward for sure!!

Quaint casual restaurant with very good food and service just 10 min from I-10 in the country side of Gulfport. If you're familiar with Neco's Family Market, you'll find Front Porch Cafe just across the street. The seafood and pasta dishes are yummy. I especially love the fried shrimp pasta dish. They have daily specials as well. If you're in the area stop on by for a good meal! They serve steak and seafood and nice southern selections like fried pickles! Our server Quinbie was fantastic and her suggestions were very good!

Great food and service!! Their eggplant Napolean is to die for!! Lovely spot and the food is so worth the drive!

Okay. We been passing this place for 2 weeks. We are working on a house in the area for the next few months. This place was located right across the local grocery store. This town is small. Very small. It doesnt have a traffic light. I think the 4 way stop sign intersection is the main part. There are a few restaurants in the general vicinity . This one just happens to be on the way to where we are camped at. The building it self is quaint and nestled within a grove of trees. Offering plenty of shade from the sun. The name suits its layout. Most of the seating is right up front facing a large porch. There is a small bar area in the far left side. Booths along the front wall. Our server was a young man , who throughout the evening, was very polite and extremely professional. I was quite taken back at his friendly demeanor and how he carried himself. We started off with the crawfish rolls appetizer. I had a bottle of local lager brew. Southern Pecan. It was actually quite good. We both had the eggplant Napoleon. My GF and I both goofed with her order, seeing she doesnt eat pasta. At any rate, the eggplant medallions were cooked perfectly and the pasta wasnt soupy with sauce. Just a nice balance. The crawfish rolls were pretty good. I'd order those again. In all. It was such a pleasant experience for us. We will most definitely return a few more times. I'm looking forward to trying out the other menu items. This place is a perfect example that good food can come from anywhere, even back road rural areas.

The Front Porch Cafe is the epitome of the saying "hidden gem". Located well off the beaten path, Front Porch Cafe is a place you should seek out. I discovered FPC not through Yelp, but through word of mouth. A buddy swore to me that it was great so I listened and he was right. Remember when I said it was off of the beaten path? The address says Pass Christian, but it is well north of I-10. If you only know The Pass as a beach area, you'll be surprised when you get here. I'd bet it is at least 15-20 minutes from the beach. The building looks like it was an old house converted to a restaurant. Inside it has a very casual, down home type vibe. Those are both pluses in my book. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I got the feeling that everyone is genuinely happy to work here and enjoys their job. I felt very welcome despite never having visited before. The food is good, to very good. The onion rings are homemade and are phenomenal. I realize that's a bold adjective to describe onion rings, but trust me on this one. Other things I have had and enjoyed are the cheeseburger poboy, gumbo, and their ribeye. Of those things I would say that the ribeye was my least favorite, but I am a weirdo when it comes to steaks. It was cooked perfectly and well seasoned, so if you want a teak, don't be scared. I really like The Front Porch. If you are local, or down for a trip to the outskirts of the Pass, I recommend you try it out.

Fantastic steaks, the potato salad was perfect and the salad was very fresh. Great service! Take the time to visit this quaint, friendly but private hideaway with the one you love. You will not be disappointed!!

Best cheeseburger on the coast, maybe in the world. Yes, probably the best cheeseburger in the world. The Cajun crawfish rolls are ridiculously good and did I mention how good the cheeseburgers are? I've reviewed some burgers and I given some top marks for them....but compared to Front Porch's burgers...all others pale in comparison. They have other menu items and I have no doubt that they are good but I can't get past the cheeseburgers. I don't always crave a burger but I always crave a Front Porch burger. Ok. Seriously, I'm going to Front Porch now to get a burger. See you there, I'll be the guy at the table eating a burger like it's my last meal on earth.

I have visited this restaurant several times and always had a good experience. Remote location and limited menu but excellent food. I highly recommend the shrimp and grits, if available as it was a special of the night. Sweet corn grits topped with shrimp, fried green tomatoes and cream sauce with bacon crumbles. WOW!!!

Every time I order from here they mess up my order. 2 times I found bugs in my pasta & the manager explained that they leave the kitchen doors open so they can't control the bugs that fly in the food would be good otherwiseeeee

Front Porch Cafe just gets better and better! Had a shrimp po boy this past weekend and it was great. Also got the fried portobello mushrooms and they were KILLER! Keep up the great food!

Great little place to get a burger and drink. The other food is great as well, but the burgers are wonderful.

I love this little family owned restaurant! They have the best crab cakes and shrimp creole pasta! Everything is fresh and so good!! Come here at least 3 times a month!!
