What just happened? We were SHOOK after trying this place. In a good way.
(recap so you don't have to read this book of a review) Food - hot, tasty and fresh serving breakfast/lunch/dinner every day. TV's everywhere for all sports. Lots of booths and tables and a bar. A few outdoor tables. Good parking right in front of the restaurant. Right off the highway.
Sunday mornings are often a miss in the "hit and miss" situation, as we all have our go to's for breakfast or brunch, but seems like Sundays are always chaotic and just annoying waiting in line for a seat and gooey slowness in all corners, spending more time staring at your phone waiting in a doorway than enjoying others company at a cozy table. But, Front Row was drastically different. It actually made me enjoy the Sunday morning breakfast days again. Ah yes. There was no wait, but people coming and going, tables getting cleaned fast, and guests enjoying each other, but not for 3 hours straight enjoying each other. It's for people who want to eat and chit chat then leave and go on with their day business.
Hubs and I had things to tend to. You know the Sunday...Costco, Target, Whole Foods, and a Ulta stop for me. Just you know...the basic suburban necessities getting situated for the upcoming week. But breakfast comes first! But....I don't really like breakfast. Like really...the once and while omelet is ok I suppose, but not regularly. I'm the straight to dinner girl or lunch will do. But eggs....bacon...hashbrowns. Nah I'll pass.
But this is not the same for husband. We are night and day. Modern / classic. Hot sun / cold rain. Vodka / Chardonnay. Breakfast / Dinner. You get the idea.
So seeing this restaurant/sports bar offers all 3 meals of the day, it was a good choice. (spring forward just happened that morning so we were a hour late than normal don't judge). So 10:30am rolled around, and we were there.
I literally pass this place daily as this is straight up in my neck of the woods, I have tried it a couple times before in the past, but for regular bar apps and drinks during a blazers game. I remember it having the perfect sports bar vibe, clean and bright neon throughout of your fav beer on tap. It was good.
But this Sunday was different....we were sat in a large D shaped cozy booth. There are a few of those, along with larger tables and high tops and bar seating as well. Nicely placed not to up close or to distant from each other.
TV's all over the walls, so at every angle you are sure not to miss a game. They were very strategically placed too....it really was nice to see them from every point. The lighting too was dark, but not dreary dark since it was morning and there are a lot of windows (it's on a corner of a strip mall), it felt hustling and happy. The service was quick, to the point, and friendly. Not overly friendly either. And we were checked on a good 3 times during out meal.. Nice job.
The food....now. We were delighted at this tastiness. I got a club sandwich w tots, and husband got a chicken fried steak w English muffin, eggs, and side of pancakes. HOW can a English muffin be toasted to perfection, hot and butter ratio to muffin ratio so spot on? I don't know...but they accomplished it.
All the food was FRESH, like hot, crunchy straight outta the fryer/toaster/pan etc. My club was perfectly layered w all the club regs, perfect temp mayo, and cold crunchy lettuce were highlighted, which brought my sandwich together oh so well. Hubby's CFS looked a little bit on the smaller side at first sight, but it really wasn't, don't let it fool you...the steak is thickkkk. He was very happy with this juicy yet crunchy covered in country gravy breakfast. The pancakes were right on the money. I DO usually get a single pancake when we go anywhere that serves breakfast. Because I'm a pancake strumpet. And this pancake did not disappoint. I think of them as my little tasty fluffy dessert to my said meal.
So all in all the food was amazing. I'm not even sure how or why the whole experience came together so well. It just did. We are now making this our American meal eatery of choice in the Hillsboro area. And we are stoked to watch the Seahawks play here in football season. I can tell it'll be a fab place to watch some Hawks with some other crazy 12's at our side.
Great place to enjoy a laid back meal and then get back to your Sunday.
