This past weekend I was down visiting family, and we finally got to come and try this establishment. I had the special of the day, Red snapper fish. It came on top of some of best mashed potatoes and seaweed salad with mushrooms. The wine of choice was also amazing. And if you have room for desert, get the Key Lime pie; its to die for. The atmosphere is very relaxing and enjoyable. The customer service was excellent. Very Highly recommend to anyone in the area.

When we visit Beaufort, we always eat here. The calamari was delicious and fried to perfection! We each selected the Sea Bass and it was outstanding! Due to making a last minute Valentines Day reservation, we ended up eating at 5 pm, which turned out to be a blessing in disguise. We were able to watch dolphins swim, directly in front of us for over an hour as sunset approached. It really added to the already lovely atmosphere.

We love this restaurant! The tuna tacos are the absolute best! So delicious and full of flavor! The rice and black beans that come with it are delicious as well! The staff are all always so kind! Most if not all the dishes come with plantains which I'd never had in my life but they are delicious here!

I came in with my family and was served by Megan. We had a fabulous meal, experience, and all topped off by amazing service! Megan was super attentive and professional, the food came out perfect, even with specific requests. Had a very memorable time and have coined it as a new family tradition. Truly blown away! Thank you to the kitchen and to Megan!

Stopped here for brunch as it's one of the restaurants in Beaufort where you can dock your boat and eat. The shrimp and grits dish was savory and melt in your mouth kinda thing. The grouper bites appetizer was fair sized portion and had light breading. The service was great. Will come back to try other items.

We came in and were told 15 min wait no problem. We grabbed a drink at the bar and hung out. Our buzzer went off, we were sat and went to table. Upon being Sat at table we waited for 15 minutes and no one came to our table. We ended up getting up and left. They were not busy at all. Host could have got drinks for us but choose to play on their phone instead. We won't return.

Came here after being rejected with our dog from 2 other waterfront restaurants. Our pooch and we were welcomed warmly including treats and water (and pets) for our dog. Food was good—best I had so far since starting our vacation in Emerald Isle.

Google
Food was very good, cocktails were good, but just note the deck doesn’t have fans, so the bugs were pretty fierce at sundown, so bring your bug spray or consider an indoor table, which also had nice views. Other than the gnats, it was delightful to watch the boats from the outdoor tables. Staff were friendly. We had wings, tuna tacos. and the pimento cheeseburger.

Shuhan W.

Yelp
The seafood here is fresh. The tuna taco we want a medium rare so the outside was grilled and really tasty. The fried banana sided with the taco also innovative The burger we want medium well and the fries are really good. It combines the crispy and soft and just use salt to add its flavor (although sided ketchup) The service is great as well.

Daun H.

Yelp
The only positive in my experience is the fish was fresh. The food is bland and tasteless, too expensive for the overall quality. The young woman at the counter kept walking outside, was uninterested in customers, and a little rude. A young man that brought the food was helpful and pleasant. On the whole, would not return or recommend.

Yelp
We completely enjoyed our experience at Front Street Grill. The wife and I and our pooch came for Sunday Brunch on the outdoor deck. Long, relaxing story short... Josh, our waiter, treated us like regulars (we're definitely out-of-towners). Bloody Mary was simple and delicious. My Brunch Burger was absolutely perfectly cooked (med rare) and completely delicious!! And the wife had a solid bacon Benedict, if maybe a little light on the hollandaise (order extra). And a definite high-point...their deck is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the ocean breeze, sunshine, and the beautiful view of the cancel and the boats. We loved the food, the drink, and the spot. Awesome service. And even the dog gave us a wag of approval. Looking for the perfect Sunday morning? Ease on into Front Street Grill. Thank me later.

Jess M.

Yelp
Absolutely deliciously fresh! We had a great dinner last night, on the water, and with great service to boot. Our entrees were the tuna tacos and the shrimp tacos--both were made perfectly. The jasmine rice and plantains were cooked perfectly. For a great dining experience, this is the spot to be!

Yelp
Food, service, ownership and management don't care and it shows through the front they put on. I don't recommend unless you want rubbery trash or a potential sickness. Only go for drinks if at all. The bartenders are the best and have to deal with ownership and management so they deserve every bit of a tip.

Christopher C.

Yelp
Came here a few years ago and had the crab cake burger, but unfortunately they no longer have it. The calamari is classic and deserving of getting two. The shrimp burger is nice and light and the fries are crispy and well-salted. The flounder platter is a bit on the bland side, but nonetheless great. The service is absolutely sweet and well-deserving of a nice tip. Cheers!

Mariela N.

Yelp
Michelle was the rudest waitress I've ever come across. Anything we asked her she literally seemed so annoyed, she snatched two menus out of my hand, and was so rude to my brother when he simply asked for a side of sauce. She also would cut me off while speaking and in the middle of me placing my order she started asking someone else for their order while I was still speaking to her. If you're going not going to be nice, don't be a server, I mean it was unbelievable behavior. Also she added a 20% tip to our bill which she definitely did not deserve. The food was okay but she made the experience so ugly for us and it was very overpriced. I payed $18 for a regular burger and it literally included 12 fries.

Chelsea H.

Yelp
We had the best experience! I think, surely we got lucky because we had zero wait and scored a prime view of the water front! We sat outside on a gorgeous Saturday night. Our server Josh was outstanding. I had the pimento cheese burger and just wow. Best burger I've had in a while. I ordered it medium, and it came with lettuce, tomato, red onion, pimento cheese, bacon, and a buttered bun. I think besides a big juicy burger, the house made sharp pimento cheese really made it a star! Paired with truffle Parm fries that were great too. I also sampled the hubby's fried shrimp platter. Let me just say he is a shrimp snob, and he was so impressed and obsessed. Perfectly sized and cooked. Light crispy breading. Not greasy! I loved them too! He tried to convince me to come back the next day before we left for another basket. It also came with a white slaw and French fries. PS: the fried shrimp is only on the lunch menu! We just got lucky. We will certainly be back! Update: came back for a second time, and the food was just as good! Them shrimps y'all Service was okay and good view. We def prefer sitting outdoors if the weather is fitting!

Chris C.

Yelp
Great spot off the sound. Good views out the window. Staff was helpful and kind. Quality cocktails, oysters Rockefeller and tuna tacos were amazing. Key lime pie was perfect, homemade graham cracker crust.

Camille J.

Yelp
We were a bit hesitant when we saw the limited lunch menu available on the covered porch as we were there at 2. But I would go back today and order the exact same thing! The Jamaican wings had the best flavor and were crispy. Their ranch and blue cheese was thick and on point and must be homemade. The grilled pimento cheese w bacon was so rich and creamy on delicious nutty bread. For my side I had the cucumber salad which had onions and peppers in a vinaigrette and was perfect to cut the richness of the pimento cheese. It was such a good combination! I did not get a picture of the shrimp tacos my friend had but she said they were delicious too.

Tom S.

Yelp
Our server was great. She made recommendations for dinner and was right. Both are dinners were good. We sat on the patio overlooking the water which was very nice, we could see our boat. Kim had the Grouper cake with a sweet corn sauce, rice and mixed vegetables. I had the Rasta Pasta, with shrimp and sausage and julienned peppers and onions in a cream sauce on penne, also very good. I'd come back again.

Christine F.

Yelp
Passing though and decided to stop for lunch . It was a beautiful location on the water and served seafood , which is what we were looking for. It was a little before noon , got seated promptly, menus and water were poured. There were only several other table with patrons at it. I checked out the menu and decided on the pan seared grouper cake - creole remoulade, lettuce, tomato on a fresh brioche roll, and a side of fries. And we ordered the fried flounder banh mi special with fries. I was sadly told that they did not have the grouper cake it was a crab cake . So I said ok , I'll try that. While we waited for our lunch the restaurant started to fill up. Service was prompt , our sandwiches arrived fairly fast. The crab cake was definitely not worth it . Absolutely no lump crab , just shreds of crab - it had little taste - not seasoned at all not even old bay . It was slightly greasy too . The remoulade was poor at best - no depth of flavor , no spice , very bland. The fries were surprisingly good , nice and crisp . Never thought of sprinkling parsley over the top - a NFG- non functional garnish . The fried flounder was tasty , well cooked and mildly seasoned , same comment for the remoulade on it - bland . It had an asian slaw on it that provided a crunch factor. Glad we went early , when we got the bill , I was surprised that the crab cake was $3.00 more than the grouper cake . Not at all worth it . And not even told when I ordered it . Next time in passing though we will try another restaurant.

Yelp
Was last in Town 7 years ago, met a lady and she took me here to have the Shrimp & Grits which were spectacular!! I've never tasted another grit that I've liked. Fast forward 7 years and I'm back to see my lady and we retraced all of the places we'd went before and we came back specifically for the Shrimp & Grits and it was still the bomb!! I'd requested some toasted bread to help dip the sauce, and they provided it and it was an excellent addition and really should be added to the dish. The bar out back has a great atmosphere, but it was too busy this time to hang out and enjoy, but I'll be back again to come see the sharks and have some more shrimp and grits!

Sherry H.

Yelp
Food great and very attentive service. A beautiful view. I was able to sit outside and admire the gorgeous view. The shrimp burger was delicious with an abundant amount of shrimp. I great little lunch spot.

Aidan D.

Yelp
Told us 45 minute wait was really an hour and a half, not the problem. Host was nice but took an hour for us to even talk to a server. Not a busy night once we got seated. Food was good would recommend if you're not in a rush.

Mikaela B.

Yelp
Warning: mixed bag! In reality, I probably would've rated this 3.5, but I would give it another shot so I'm rounding up. We were able to make a reservation for Friday night, and the hostess was very nice. We were seated upon arrival. We got a table over by the window, which would've been even better during the day! Wicked views. Patio dining here would definitely be on my agenda in the future, but it was too cold on this visit. Our server was very nice, but kind of disappeared for long periods of time, especially toward the end of our visit. We ordered the calamari to start as it appeared to be one of their flagship items, and I realize that even though calamari can be hit or miss, I expect a place at the coast on the water to be some of the best. The breading was perfectly crispy and well seasoned, I loved the Thai chili sauce drizzled over top and the spicy Mayo on the side... but the calamari itself was unfortunately pretty chewy. I was torn between the Rasta pasta and the shrimp & grits for my entree, so I asked the waitress to pick for me and she chose the Rasta pasta. This was a Cajun style pasta with bell peppers, chicken, shrimp and smoked sausage in a Cajun cream sauce. I really loved everything about this dish, except for the shrimp. They were big and succulent, but not cooked to my liking. I think it was a little too done? Everything else was great. We also tried the grouper bites and they were great. Probably go for that as an appetizer instead of the calamari! It seems like the lunch menu is a bit different than the dinner menu. I think a lunch with drinks on the patio is where it's at with Front Street Grill!

Lesley L.

Yelp
One of our favorite stop for food and drinks! I had the taco bowl, and it was so yummy! Look forward to going back!

Jennifer B.

Yelp
The rhumbar at Stillwater is the outdoor bar area that has both covered and uncovered options for patrons to dine on a limited menu until 5:30pm and enjoy drinks while watching the boats come and go. We had the grouper bites and truffle chips which were both great options. The grouper was lightly fried and ever so flaky on the inside. The truffle chips were served with a garlic aioli which was very good. Definitely enjoyed not appetizers. The views of seeing the sail boats, yachts, and all other watercraft was nice. The service was good but not great.

Richard H.

Yelp
Grilled Pimento cheese and bacon sandwich was delicious. Same for the Cobb salad. The unsweetened iced tea was the best I've ever had. The service was excellent. Beautiful view over the water

Sarah B.

Yelp
Best locale for drinks on the dock. Love sitting outside when the weather is great. Food is average and tasty.

Tim S.

Yelp
Great views of the water and service was great. Food and drink was lackluster and lacked flavor. We went for brunch and had the fried calamari and grouper cakes eggs benedict. The calamari was chewy and over cooked and appeared to be something that you'd get in the frozen grocery section. The grouper cakes were bland and did not taste fish. I think the combination of eggs, sauce, and English muffin over powered the grouper cakes. The pouched eggs were done well though and the fresh fruit was good. If you're looking for a view this really is a great place. We did enjoy watching the boats go by. Food isn't that great but reasonable prices.

Elle E.

Yelp
Food was just ok but there are better options in Beaufort waterfront. Went there for lunch and sat inside along the windows, so the waterfront views would be the driver to come here.

Dorothy H.

Yelp
Delicious food - including grouper bites, blackened tuna tacos, shrimp and grits and more. Great service and spectacular views.

Mary W.

Yelp
Waited over an hour an a half for a table (wait was supposed to be 45 minutes). Once we were seated we had to wait an additional 30-45 minutes for service. The host brought us water and the ice was melted before our server came to take our order. We had no silverware/straws. Would not recommend after a long day at the beach. Wouldn't even recommend for a night out.

Monica C.

Yelp
This is the "corner" to go. The food is good, menu is the only one with fry calamari around, my preference always in a seafood restaurant. Fry calamari had a sweet and spicy sauce on top, yammmiii! Crispy! Everything is great, the waiter was professional and efficient. The view is perfect! They have many tables inside and outside aline with the ocean, this will be my destination when in town of Beaufort.

James B.

Yelp
Went there expecting seafood, but were very disappointed. We had the fish and chips, which were pricier than what we had eaten on the Connecticut coast as well as Washington state. We asked for tartar sauce which they did not have. Fries were good, but for a coastal town the fish was average at best. We will look elsewhere in the future.

Lindsay B.

Yelp
Great spot for lunch and drinks with a view! I'm sad to see all the negative reviews because I have nothing but good things to say about Front Street Grill! We walked in on a Saturday and we're seated immediately. Luckily we were able to snag an outdoor table with wonderful views of the water and boats passing by. Our server was fast, friendly and efficient. The truffle fries were amazing as an appetizer or a side. The ahi tuna tacos were wonderful and a really nice portion size. That shrimp po boy was perfectly sauced and seasoned. The bread just kind of molded around the shrimp for the perfect bite every time. Rhum Bar is attached to this restaurant and they are serving up these famous local pain killers. If you order level 2, there's a large rum floater on top and YUM! So refreshing. I definitely recommend this place. Can't wait to go back!

Marc T.

Yelp
Another nice Beaufort restaurant on the harbor. We were seated outside on the deck and had attentive wait staff. My wife had the fried flounder platter and I had the Mahi Asian bowel. Very good food. Nice selection of wine and beer. Hard to find at first due to being on the back side of a building but worth it!! It was recommended by a passer buyer in a Morehead City thrift shop and close to our hotel on Front Street.

Jim S.

Yelp
Went there last night for dinner. After we were seated, we waited for over 15 minutes for a waiter to appear. One went to other tables that were seated after us so I asked another waiter if he was our waiter. He said he would check with the hostess I nice young lady brought two glasses of water and we sat there for another 10 minutes and no one came to take our order So we got up and left.

Virginia B.

Yelp
This restaurant is located right on Front Street, but near the end of the street. I went during dinner time during the week, but there was still a wait. I was offer a spot at the bar, which I do NOT like, but hunger was taking over, so I took it. Bad mistake. I was sitting with my back to the widows, so my "view" was the overworked bar tender and the entrance to the kitchen. The poor girl was so busy, it took forever just to get a glass of water. It was not refilled until MUCH later. I was finally able to place an order for the shrimp and grits. Took a long time to come out, but I have a feeling it was sitting for awhile....it was not very hot. It was just "ok" certainly NOT the best I have had and there were not many shrimp. There were onions, peppers and mushrooms over the grits, so had to fill up on that. No bread, nothing came with the meal for $27. Just not worth it, and with the long wait for service, it was a stretch to give 3 stars. Maybe if I had a better seat it would have made the long wait bearable, but the end of the bar was the worst seat in the house. Very disappointed.

Claire T.

Yelp
Excellent food and atmosphere, especially if you want a water view. The prices for lunch are really good for the quality and amount of food that you get. We started with the Parmesan truffle fries which were perfectly seasoned and fried. I ordered the fried grouper taco plate. It came with plantains and corn relish. My husband and son ordered the Stillwater Cheeseburger and Stillwater Club, respectively. My daughter chose the Shrimp Platter. Of these, my daughter had the only complaint bc she wanted more shrimp. Everything tasted great. Service, decor, and views were impeccable. I recommend trying this place out if you're in the area!

Alexander S.

Yelp
Ate here with a group of 5 and not just one but all of us got immediately sick. Makes us wonder what they got going on in the kitchen. Will not ever go again!!!

Rosemarie V.

Yelp
The atmosphere and the staff were pleasant . No introduction from our waiter, I let that slide. For the price, the portions were ok. Now for the not so good. The pimento cheese was so so, and the truffle fries were a waste of time, small portion and nothing special. My shrimp and grits tasted good, but for $27, it was at best a half portion. My daughter-in- law ordered a pasta dish from the menu, she was served something totally different and waited 10 minutes for her meal to finally arrive, well after everyone else was 1/2 done I wish this restauranthad better met my expectations. .

Garrett S.

Yelp
Stopped here for lunch and it was really good. Sat facing the water so got a great view with our meal. I had a fish wrap (delicious) and my companion had the special spicy shrimp bowl (also delicious). My favorite part of the meal was the grouper bites appetizer. They were very fresh tasting and a great portion size for sharing. Definitely recommend for a nice casual waterfront meal.

Ethan A.

Yelp
Wtf is a in between menu. This is outrageous. Absolutely mind blowing, lunch or dinner should be served through all times of day

S K.

Yelp
Great location. Full stop. The seafood in the seafood linguine was delicious, but the pasta itself was swimming in an inch of oil. The fish cakes were served with cold, soggy green beans and flavorless rice--but worst of all, were sitting in gloppy sweet lemon pudding. I'm not kidding. The flavor was shockingly bad, the lemon was stripped of all acid (which would have been a nice complement to the fish) and it appeared on the plate like yesterday's hollandaise, chilled after sitting under the warmer all night. I woke in the middle of the night gagging at the memory of it.

lawanda t.

Yelp
Poor service and sat 15-20 minutes before we even got a glass of water. We had to ask 3 times. Rude staff.

Gregg G.

Yelp
Pretty good food, great view. We were able to dock behind their restaurant which make it better.

Morgan E.

Yelp
For years, this has been my favorite restaurant in Beaufort but damn... the service has really gone downhill (or at least had today). The views are just as incredible and obviously worth it, the food was good but not as exceptional as it has been in the past and the service has turned to crap, or at least it was today. 38 minutes from the time we ordered until our appetizers came out and there were literally only 3 tables seated inside when we ordered. To be fair there could have been more outside on the patio but this is not at all the experience I've had the pleasure of enjoying every other visit. Menu: always outstanding, great selection with many tempting choices... truffle fries, calamari with a Thai chili sauce, decent burger with a Brioche bun, etc... Execution: the truffle fries were literally dripping with oil (see pics). The Jamaican jerk chicken wings weren't edible this trip. The drinks were fantastic, as always. This place is known for it's awesome Painkillers, if you go here, that's what you need to try, at least once (kudos for offering varying levels with rum floaters). Really bummed because I love this place so much, hopefully it was just a really off day. Sadly, it put a really bad taste in our mouths, so we won't be back for a long time. There are too many great restaurants with excellent drinks, service and food nearby to waste time on mediocrity or worse. p.s. I did mention to the manager that it had been so long and oddly unusual and she barked back to the kitchen but never followed up with us or made any effort to apologize for it. Not the hospitality I'm used to seeing in Beaufort :-(

Michelle Y.

Yelp
We try to visit this place whenever we visit Atlantic Beach. never disappoints. We love the outdoor seating with the view of the water. The parmesan truffle fries and grouper bites are must have starters. The fried calamari is very good as well. The chile-lime shrimp tacos are awesome as is their shrimp burger. we have had their shrimp & grits dinner option in the past as well and it was awesome. The clam chowder wasn't the greatest as it should have been piping hot- only warm. restaurant was very busy so we didn't complain. but we do look forward to coming back when ever we are out on the coast! Frida was our waitress this last visit and she is so sweet & awesome!! Get there early if you can - as the restaurant fills quickly.

Julia Z.

Yelp
Loud, mediocre food, no glass for cocktail drinks and was served in plastic-disappointed experience all around

Pamela A.

Yelp
Delicious food, good atmosphere, friendly staff. A definite place to dine when in Beaufort!

Sarah B.

Yelp
Came in on a Friday night around 7 pm and immediately seated. We were also quickly given two glasses of ice cold water. My boyfriend and I shared the calamari and fried grouper bites for an appetizer. Amazing! My main course was the flounder- it was great. Our server was very tentative. Overall great food, great experience!

Louise K.

Yelp
It was terrible. Took 30 min for the waitress to speak to us, one glass of water was full of dirt, Bloody Mary had zero spices and tasted like v8 and water. Waited an hour for appetizers, got no refills, finally left $20 on the table and left. Horrible service.

Tricia K.

Yelp
Great view, food & service (Jerrmie). Pimento cheese appetizer, goat cheese salad with shrimp, shrimp tacos, Paloma, Bloody Mary at lunch. All yummy!

Bacchus O.

Yelp
Not much has changed as far as menu over past few years. Managerial staff have gone mostly downhill since Tim the bartender left. The wait staff is great as always. As is with many restaurants here in the area, overwhelmed with the continued onslaught of a tourist population explosion during and after covid, the host seems upset when you inform them that the 2 hr wait for a table is fine with you. Secretly hoping you will just go elsewhere only to be told your table is ready 30 mins later.

Ashley L.

Yelp
First place we go when we visit Beaufort. Great drinks, delicious food, friendly staff, and you can't beat the view! Stick to the level 1 pain killer... learn from our mistakes, you'll thank me the next day. Love this place!

Erik S.

Yelp
While I have not had a full meal here, our most recent visit was for sunset drinks and appetizers, and it was very enjoyable. While the outdoor seating area does not have a panoramic view, it is more than adequate and comfortable. We had great service, and the cocktails were very tasty as well as reasonably priced considering the area this restaurant is located. For appetizers we had the calamari as well as the hot crab dip. The Calamari was recommended by the waitress, and definitely did not disappoint. Perfectly fried and drizzled with a nice sweet chili sauce. The crab dip also contained a decent amount of lump crab, was tasty, and came with toasted bread as well as pita chips. Flavor was excellent on both, but I think the portions could be just a little more generous for the price, which is what holds this review back a single star. Overall, we would definitely return here for drinks and maybe try a meal.

Judy S.

Yelp
We were lucky to be seated without a reservation, but were given a very sticky table that our menus stuck to. I asked our server if the table could be wiped down when she brought over waters, and she said she would get someone. After waiting a good 15/20 minutes, I went up to the hostess stand and asked the host if someone could please wipe down our table. Without looking up from his phone, he said, "Give me a minute." A very friendly girl with long dark hair in a blue dress came over, apologized and finally wiped down our table. The reason I give 2 stars is for our very friendly waitress, can't remember her name, but she was blonde on one side and brunette on the other, and was very sweet and apologetic. Tried the level 1 painkiller. It was awful! Tasted like watered down pineapple juice with nutmeg. Had to send back the mojito because it tasted like salty seltzer with no lime or mint flavors. Neither drink tasted like there was any alcohol in it, and I am not a fan of strong drinks. The grouper cakes were okay. The tuna tacos that everyone recommends, didn't have any flavor and all I could taste biting into the taco were clumps of sour cream. The fried plantains that come with the meal were cold. I can't believe this restaurant has such a high rating with awful food and cocktails. The view is very pretty on the water, but I need to have decent food. I was really disappointed.
