I chose this restaurant based off of the positive reviews and pictures so I was excited to try the food. Pictures are deceiving. The food was a total disappointment. Based off of the pictures I ordered the Birria Taco dinner and my food was nothing like the pics. My Birria taco dinner was served with nacho meat (ground beef) and it was a total disappointment. I never had a birria taco served with ground beef. I ordered the nachos and asked for the spicy ranch sauce on the side, but it came out with the spicy ranch on top. The food didnt seem like it was cooked with love/ skill just thrown together. I also ordered the bbq quesadilla and requested the bbq sauce on the side just in case I didn't like the sauce, but of course the bbq sauce came on it. The only positive thing was the salsa. The salsa was really good.

This was one of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve been to. We were served with tortilla chips, salsa, and guacamole immediately, which were freshly made and delicious. This restaurant had the fastest service I’ve ever had as dinner was served in just about 10 minutes. My birria tacos were savory and outstanding, and went great with the refried beans, rice, and cup of consommé. The side of grilled jalapeños was spicy and salty. My guests thought their quesadilla and chimichanga were absolutely delicious. Their tres leches cake was the best tasting moist and fluffy cake I’ve ever had. I ordered entirely in Spanish to the waiter, who was very attentive and friendly. The prices were amazing for the quality and quantity of the food. I highly recommend this new Mexican restaurant!

I ordered through DoorDash, which I do often and never have a problem today I ordered the same thing I ordered all the time Carnitas tacos came with no sauce at all. I called and let them know because this isn’t a DoorDash issue. He said well yeah that’s not the way it’s supposed to be. Well that’s not what you say to a customer when they call and complain about something not being delivered correctly. This is a restaurant issue. It came completely dry with no sauce my favorite meal from them and I won’t order it again because of this experience. Not sure that I’ll order at all from them again. ☹️

Stopped in tonight. It's such a cute place. Our waitress was amazing. We both ordered tacos and they came out perfect- love the sauces that came with them as well. They also now have cocktails and beer :) great spot and look forward to coming back

Ordered their chips and guacamole for sides. The chips are served with red and green salsa . Really loved their green salsa. For main course we got their grilled chicken quesadilla ,pollo en guajillo Arandano along with Rose wine. The quesadilla was served with guacamole, beans and salad.Its the classic and tasted the best.The other one is their signature dish. Don’t confuse this to be a sweet dish. It’s only the yam which comes with the cranberry sauce.It was something new and tasted good. Ask for their habanero sauce incase you find anything to be very bland. It’s spicy and adds a good flavor to the food.Got their tres leches for dessert. It comes with an ice cream . It’s not the usual one it has flavors of coffee, cinnamon, cloves and orange. I didn’t like this much. If you’re a hardcore dessert person you might not like it as it’s not that sweet. Food comes in right portion size sufficient for a person. Nothing more nothing less.Friendly staff.Quick service. The place is well maintained. Parking is difficult to find.

Food was decent the first time i had it delivered to my job from doordash. So good in fact I decided to order a pickup a couple weeks later off the app. Unfortunately, it wasn't the same pleasant experience. There was a young girl and a few other workers in the back. I just got off work around 3pm. I was the only customer with my spouse. While we was waiting for food. We asked if we could order a drink. She said no, she didnt feel like it. She was very ride the entire time. And then went to the back and proceeded to talk about us to her co workers as if we just inconvenienced her entire life. Ironically, I also work in restaurant management. I even mentioned to her that she was rude and have poor customer service skills. He response was to leave and have a good day. This young girl is ruining this business! But then again from looking at the reviews. It seems like it may be a family owned and operated business. Which would explain the crappy service and reviews. Lessened learned for this guy. Do NOT go to a restaurant before checking out reviews!!! You been warned ⚠️

I can't stay away from this place! I changed it up today and ordered the Asada Fries WOW, WOW, WOW! Besides being absolutely DELICIOUS, the portion is HUGE! It's definitely enough for 3 people. As usual, Jose was an excellent host!

I came here twice before reviewing, here’s my review after my 3rd visit. The first couple times, I got churros and you all deserve a 5/5 for those alone. Not only can you not get hot churros anywhere around here, but they’re GOOD and the icing is even better. I got a chicken burrito which was pretty good too, my only take away is they’re heavy on the rice and I’m more of a predominantly protein guy. Other than that, they’re very nice, and very fast. I barely waited any time all 3 times I came here. I will be back and I do recommend highly.

The food was great! I had a chorizo breakfast burrito. Authentic and reasonably priced. Don't listen to these 1 star reviews. Give it a try!

This spot is in a low key area, but was needed! I like how it's right by a cute Lil wine shop! The gent taking care of the customers was cool, thanks for all the adjustments to my order (I like cold toppings on the side) they'd left off my chorizo on the botana I ordered but they fixed it & didn't charge the up charge! I did like the chips & salsa! Also ordered chicken fajitas, was different, not quite authentic but....may have ta give them anotha try when in the area! Check em out when you're around the way! GRATZî!

First and foremost most this is the best authentic Mexican food in DETROIT. Talk about service with a smile and the food will give you a shit eating grin as well. In the best way possible. I'm from San Diego and I have opened over 20 restaurants (mostly The Cheesecake Factory/P.F Chang's. This place is a must for super cheap and authentic cuisine. Your welcome.

Horrible service!!! Bar attendant was very rude. We asked for a drink, and she said "she didn't want to make it right now." There was no one there besides other workers.

We come regularly for breakfast and the chorizo egg tacos (w avocado) are always perfect. Great place w friendly staff.

The good here is very tasty and very well seasoned. Always attentive to packaging and with the amounts of food you're getting in relation to portion and your money. I have not been disappointed yet. I've tried the Birria tacos. so goood!! I have purchased their nachos several times. It's so much well cooked and quality food that I can never finish the na his Ali e. Even with help from a coworker we could t finish. So we had to order them on the next lunch day for three coworkers. Yummy desserts. I had the chorro. Always fresh & hot and they come with dipping sauce so delicious.

This was my first time coming here the girl at the register had a bad attitude. For people who smoke vapes something you might find yourself just taking a drag unconsciously but not intentionally doing it. I hit my vape (didn't really mean to) the girl said "don't smoke in here" then proceeded to yell it out louder to me when I exhaled the same puff I started with. I wouldn't say I was in the wrong because I don't work there nor do I service people! but she didn't have to have a nasty attitude with me because at the end of the day I belong here lol . Not to mention when I called it sounded like she was getting "smart" with me and the price she told me on the phone was different from when I got there. She told me me smoking would get her fired but not her with a AirPod in her ear nor being on her nasty unsanitized phone!!!! LMFAO YOU TOUCHED EVERYTHING BEING THE CONTER INCLUDING MY FOOD !!!! This was definitely not a good first impression and it's definitely a way to talk to people I'm not Trump and nor am I trying to deport you I would be wrong if I had some bitches to go check her funky ass attitude but then of course I would be in the wrong. Close down if you not gone talk to people with respect and not like you got your little kids running around and by they way the tacos was ass fr.

Probably the worst chicken tacos I have ever had. It was rubbery and extremely unseasoned. I took one bite and threw the rest away. My friend got a chicken quesadilla and she said the chicken was awful as well. I will never be returning.

All the food we have tried was delicious, very authentic. Large servings, great value! We've been there twice already.

Frontera Grill has delicious, affordable food and great service.The freshly made chips and salsa are the perfect start to a great dining experience.

Food and service are excellent! Prices and quality of food are great.... Very authentic Mexican food! Portions are large so be prepared!

Our first few times at Frontera were good. The staff has never been better than average, but the food and prices made up for it. That being said, over the last few months (since about two months after they opened and on) there has been a steady decline. Food has become okay, service is just plain poor. The young lady on the phone is rude and unprofessional. She has snapped at me the last few times I've called for take out. Really wish I could support a local, upcoming business. But it's hard when the food isn't worth the negative customer service experience.

The first two times I visited this restaurant, the service was poor, but I was hoping this was due to the fact that they had not been open for long. Since the location is convenient, I returned several months later, and unfortunately experienced the same level of service. I was so hoping they would figure out the service piece so that this would be a great new place to eat!

Pretty simple-looking casual small place. I wish we could have tried the food. Our group of 6 got there about 7:35pm on a Sunday. They close at 8 on Sundays, but generally a closing time at a restaurant is when they stop seating. The server immediately brought us some overcooked greasy chip & salsa, & we patiently waited as she took care of carry out orders at the counter. When she came to our table at 7:49, she announced in a difficult to understand way something about their grill already shut down for the night, & that whatever we ordered would have to be eaten quickly because we would have to leave very soon, since they close at 8. Why wouldn't she tell us this when we first arrived? We left & went somewhere else. If the owner had been there, I doubt he would have turned away 6 paying customers. How do they stay in business?
